She's the only awesome teacher I had last semester!

Cool person and made the class fun! Did lots of fun group activities which made the class close and eager to want to show up!

She is amazing! She really cares about you and you can tell. She makes class fun and interesting and as painless as possible for a speech class. The entire class becomes engaged and communicates with each other. My class was sad when the semester ended because she was that amazing! If you need a speech class then take Dr. Meek!

She was an amazing teacher lectures arn't boring and she explains everything very well. Suuuuuper nice and fun. Be sure to do your outlines before your speech. The first few days she has excises for everyone to do to break the ice with every student in class to make you feel comfortable giving speeches to your peers. Great Great Teacher.

The BEST teacher you'll ever take!!!! Dr. Meek is extremely sweet and really cares about her students. I am so sad for my class with her to be coming to an end. Lectures always involve class participation and she makes it so fun; it's never a powerpoint lecture for an hour like most classes. Easy easy A as long as you make an effort. Helpful lady!

I love this prof. I took a blended speech class and it was definitely a GPA booster. As long as you follow the way she wants you to present your speech you'll pass. She is very sweet and organized and she genuinely wants you to succeed. If you need a speech class be sure to take her!

Loved Professor Meek!! She's extremely nice and supportive which is important in a public speaking class. Everyone felt comfortable in her class and even though the class was blended, she made all the homework and speech requirements very clear. Easy class, just prepare ahead for your speeches and include what she says on the rubric. TAKE HER!!

Awesome teacher! participation grade everyday so a free 100 as long as you pay attention in class. Mostly just write speeches and watch people present them so other than that in class she usually does some fun interactive activity. she's so sweet and very understanding. only a midterm, final and two quizzes. 100% recommend

Took as a minimester & could have easily made an A if I hadnt exceeded my time limit on 1 speech. Class is composed of 4 speeches, discussion posts every day (as attendance but easy 100), 2 exams (tells you exactly what is on them), & 2 quizzes. Everything is very clear & speeches only have to be 4-6 minutes long. Record yourself & post to youtube.

She is really nice and caring! I took her for a blending course and i feel like that was the best way to take this class. very clear about what she is expecting in her speeches she even gives you outlines to follow. Easy grader and no judging at all when you are speaking. I got an A on every speech i gave.

Meek is amazing, 4 speeches, discussion post every week, online midterm and final that have no time limit. She clearly outlines what she expects and is there for you if you have any questions. Just show up to class, and do your speeches, you will be just fine.

i took her for an online minimester and as long as you follow the guideines for the speeches then you get an A. Make sure to do the discussions as well. Definitely a great teacher that cares about her students! i would highly recommend taking her but her class fill up pretty quick.

Awesome professor, very clear and understanding. I took her online and I had some difficulty getting my speech to upload to youtube and was an hour late on the deadline of the first speech, emailed her and I made an A. She cares about her students. Even if you are terrible at speeches, as long as you follow format, you'll be solid.

Took this during summer 1 session as a blended course and it was a cake walk. Be sure to do the online discussion boards(which can get tedious) and follow her speech outlines and you will get an A. Do not waste your money on the textbook, most of the quiz answers are covered in class or on quizlet.

Sweet person. Actually enjoyed getting up to go to her class. She makes it fun and allows you to be yourself. Never felt uncomfortable giving speeches. She treats everyone the same. Always have your speeches ready to go the first day and get it over with.

I absolutely loved Prof Meek! She is super sweet and genuinely cares about all of her students. If you do everything she asks you will make an A! Meek is simply amazing. Easiest course i've ever taken at Blinn as a minimester. Do need the textbook to use a reference, but not the access code. Hardly studied and speeches were a breeze. Will recommend everyone to take her. Course fills up almost immediately so don't miss your chance to take her.

well this is a public speaking class so be ready to speak in front of the class for all 4 speeches, Mrs Meek is a such a nice and kind lady i loved her class, although public speaking it not my strongest, i was still able to just do as she said and made an A. she has a clear grading criteria and if you put in effort you should be able to make a B.

I took SPCH 1315 online for the summer minister. It was only 2 weeks long and by far the easiest class I've ever taken. There are online discussion boards you have to post in and they are completion grades and also 6 easy quizzes. There are 4 speeches which you record and put on youtube and only have to have 3 people in the audience.

Dr. Meek is one of the best professors ever. This course is not hard, but takes work. The more effort you put, the more you will learn about Public Speaking and yourself. I'm obsessed w/ how wonderful, caring & dedicated that this professor was. I corresponded w/ her more than any in-person professor I had simply b/c she is absolutely delightful.

MELISSA MEEK IS AMAZING. Take her online Public Speaking class! She responds to emails really fast and she is very understanding. I asked for an extension because I was in a musical and I had a full-time job. She granted me the extension AND SHE CAME TO MY SHOW. I only made a B because I got lazy and didn't do some of the discussions.

Dr. Meek was an absolutely amazing professor. She really wants the students to succeed and is easily one of the kindest profs I know. If public speaking isn't your thing, or even if you're an amazing rhetorician, Dr. Meek is for you. She is very well organized, and helps you in anyway she can. I would undoubtedly recommend her

Best Professor ever! She is super nice, understanding, and was always accessible outside of class! I am usually terrified of public speaking but she made it so easy and fun! You only have to do 4 speeches with a minimum time of 4 minutes, and one of them is a group speech. You also only take two tests and they're both online.

The kindest professor you will ever meet. She cares so much for her students and is so excited about public speaking. There are 4 speeches, quizzes, ted talks, discussions a midterm and a final. This is not a hard class, but make sure you are doing your work. She grades farely on the speeches and gives extra credit at the end of the semester.

Dr. Meek was one of my favorite profs. She wanted each student to succeed and wants the best for you inside and outside of class. I took the blended course so 1/2 online and 1/2 in class. Online work was simple and basically got a 100 if I completed it and the majority of the class was graded on 4 speeches, one being a group speech. Take her class!

I took as a winter mini and it was easy. Your grade is mainly based off of 4 speeches and the rest (discussions and 1 page papers) was basically graded for completion. The quizzes and 2 exams were not difficult. She allowed us to turn 3 of our speeches in early for 5 points extra credit on each. I would recommend working ahead if taken online.

Prof Meek was one of my favorite professors ever. She knows exactly how to handle the fear of speaking and motivating her students. She does a lot of impromptu activities in class which were intimidating but not hard. I made an easy A by simply following her rubrics. We also did a few debates that resulted in extra credit. Overall great prof, 10/10

Take Dr. Meek! I took her as a wintermester online & she was so sweet and caring. However there was a lot of work - Total of 4 speeches but some of them could be turned in early for extra credit. Quizzes, Mid-Term and Final were all super easy, and discussions and TedTalks were basically graded as participation. She wants you to succeed. Take her!

TAKE HER!! She genuinely cares about her students and she is hands down the best prof I have ever had. Assignments are easy and minimal. I have ADD and have a super hard time sitting in class but I actually enjoy being in her classroom.

Professor Meek is so sweet and truly cares about every one of her students. She is very understanding that public speaking very difficult for a lot of people so she is helpful. My only complaint is that even on days when we didn't have speeches we would have to talk in front of the class multiple times for activities.

Very caring and understanding professor. She is an amazing example of what a good speaker is which fits the criteria of what the class is about. She gives you all the information and is very clear about when assignments are due. Definitely learned a lot from this course to my surprise! I would highly recommend this professor :)

I took this blended but overall it was pretty easy! Lots of online work, mostly completion. The speeches in class were easy but i got the same grade on every single one. Midterm/final online.

Dr. Meek is a great speech teacher. I took SPCH 1315 online summer session 1. There were 6 easy quizzes, midterm quiz that was easy, and a final that was more difficult. Also, there were a few discussions and writing assignments. Then there were 4 speeches. This class is an easy A if you turn your assignments in.

I did not want to take Public Speaking class. Dr. Meek helped me with my fear of giving speeches. She really cares about her students. She is my favorite professor. Take her if you can. Her classes fill up fast.

I absolutely loved Professor Meek. I took this class online over the winter break and I don't regret it. It was a lot of work but it also kept me busy and once you get the hang of it, its not hard to work ahead which is kinda necessary. She cares about you and your grade so never hesitate to talk to her. Take her for an easy and informative credit.

This was one of the better teachers I have had while attending Blinn, she is not only caring but she also responds very quickly to any issues you might have during the course. She also has very easy to learn lessons and I would suggest her over anyone else when taking this class! Awesome teacher and gives great feedback!

Don't even think about dropping this class. You will love Prof. Meek, literally LOVE everything about her. She cares about all her students, is available 24/7, and is over all one of the best profs i've had. Go to class, there's extra credit options but you have to be there to be a part of it. If i could have her for every single class i would.

Take her class if you have to take public speaking!!! She makes it easy and not scary for people who have a fear of it. Many assignments, but very easy and helps to pad your grade. She lets you read off notecards for speeches and grades very easy. Tests are open note. She is SUPER nice and really cares about her students. She is an amazing prof!!!

Professor Meek is hands down one of the best professors I've had. I was nervous to take speech, but decided to just get it over with during my minimester,. It's a lot of work since it's a shorter time period, but it's very doable!! Grades speeches fairly, about 6 quizzes and 2 tests. I would highly recommend Prof Meek!!

Professor Meek is super kind and caring lady! Her class is fairly easy if you try. Grades fairly. In my opinion theres a lot of homework/ work that goes into this class but its easy to get an A if you at least try.

I took this class as a minimester online. There were A LOT of assignments due each day, and speeches were due right after each other, but that is expected bc the class is so short. She is a really fair grader. So even though it's a lot.. as long as you do the work and submit everything on time, you should get a really good grade! I'm expecting an A

This was probably the easiest class I have ever taken. As long as you turn in your work on time, you'll do great in her class. Nothing was hard and if you ever have a question, don't be hesitant to email her. She replies quite fast and will answer any question you have. What I like about her is that she is willing to work with her students 1 on 1.

This professor was honestly amazing. I took her class and had a lot of fun with her. You might definitely need a youtube account to record your presentations, but overall it was a fun experience. There are group/partner presentations, so be prepared with your partners and such. She's also an easy grader, so you'll get good grades if you try!

Professor Meek is such an amazing professor, she respects her students so much and is willing to work with you when you're having any issues. Great teacher, easy to get along with. Communicates with you about missing grades, all exams are on quizlet and not proctored. The speeches are the main grade so if you do them right you should get an easy A in the class! Definitely and top 5 teacher of all time in my opinion!

I took this class as a winter mini-mester, so it was all online. This teacher was amzing at responding quickly to emails. The assignments were very organized and she gave many examples, so the class knew what was expected. She is not a super tough grader, you just have to make sure you complete all the assignments and follow instructions.

this class wasn't my fav just bc I don't like speaking but Dr. Meek def made it a lot easier! super sweet lady really cares and won't judge. there are 4 speeches you give, either alone, or with other people but it's really not anything super challenging. few tests, not on honorlock. really nothing to stress about during this class. take it!

Fantastic prof, she really just wants you to be a bit better at public speaking by the time your done. Simply do the 20 minutes of homework a week and put some amount of effort into the speeches and you'll do great! I'm glad i didn't have to take this class with anyone else.

Professor Meek is one of my absolute favorite professors. In this class the exams were both open note and your main points came from your speeches. You have 2 speeches by yourself, one group, and one partner. She understands that most people are very nervous to speak in front of a crowd and doesn't take off a lot of points on speeches. TAKE HER!!!!

I was dreading taking this course but now that Im done I want to take more because of professor Meek. Shes the sweetest and genuinely wants you to succeed. The speeches are very easy to write and she gives you clear examples of what they should look like. Mid term and final are open note and online. 4 major speeches with busy work in between.

I may sound like a broken record after reading her reviews, BUT... Dr. Meek is the best professor I have ever had. I have taken 2 of her courses, and she is nothing but caring and compassionate. She clearly loves what she does, and always makes me feel seen and encouraged when it came to class work. She is a very fast grader, which is appreciated.

Professor Meek is one of my favorite professors of all time. She pushes you to do your best work but is really understanding and helpful. The speeches are all geared towards your career so it makes it a lot more enjoyable. Professor Meek always wants the best for you so if you are struggling she will do anything she can to help.

Get As on the quizzes and you will get an A in the class, its easy! 10 quizzes & discussion posts 6 ted talks & Quizzes are open note along with mid-term and final.

I took professor Meek as an online summer course. She is really fast at responding to emails. 1 final exam, and 1 mid-term (both not proctored, and you can find all of the answers on quizlets). We had 6 ted talk assignments, which were time consuming, I will say. Also, we had 4 major speeches, which is 60% of your grade. I do recommend prof Meek!

She is one of my favorite teachers at Blinn. The speeches that she assigned went along with what we were learning at the time and were not hard to get a good grade on if you listened in class and showed that you tried your best while presenting. No matter when you turn homework in she will grade it. She was there to ensure we always did our best.

I took Dr. Meek for the 8 week course and she was the best. You do 4 speeches over all , 1 of which you do with a partner and 1 with a group. She is very caring and responds to emails very quickly . There is a good amount of work at the beginning half of the course but a lot of it is stuff you will use later in the year .

Ecampus material is well organized & email is sent out each week w/ due assignments which is super helpful. Dr Meek is an amazing teacher, I took her for my first speech class and it was great, she cares a lot about her students but you just need to participate and show up to class and she will see that you care, she will cut you slack. there was a total of 4 speeches and she is kind of homework heavy but it is all easy 100s!! i took this in an 8 week.

Honestly, I was very stressed abt taking this class, but Dr. Meek was v easy to work with. I took the 8-week online course and it was very well organized and the work was not stressful. I recommend taking her online course if you don't want to speak in a traditional classroom.

I love Dr. Meek!! If you need a public speaking credit, take her. She made class so enjoyable every day, and speeches were so fun to write. You do have homework and quizzes, as well as a mid-term and a final, but they are all open-book and not difficult at all. She gives good feedback and tries to help you improve every speech you give.

Mrs. Meek is a amazing professor, she helps her students to meet the goals they have set. The assigment are clearly laid out on the sylabllus and she follows it closely. Mrs.Meek also doesnt give boring lectures she values using the class time to practice what we learned during our online reading. Overall she is awesome and I highly recommend her.

I think this was the best class I've taken in my college career. Professor Meek was so nice and easy to reach. She clearly outlined everything in her syllabus and everything was very comprehensible. She was also extremely understanding when I needed to have an extension on an assignment. I would 1000% take her again.
