Gave printouts of notes. Always helped.
She is a great teacher! Make sure you do the homework its usually alot (not always) but it helps. Do the homework and you should be fine for the tests.
She is rude and very unwilling to help. Her tests do not reflect the material well. She does not give partial credit. Alot of people failed her class. My advice is to try to get another teacher-do not take her!
She helped me a bunch. If you study and do the review you should never get less than a b on a test. The reviews are basically the test.
She was very unhelpful and rude. She assigned like thirty problems each night for homework and would check to see if they were done, this is not high school. Tests always had material not covered in class. Horrible teacher, she's been on probation three times, what else is there to say?
She is a difficult teacher but she always helped me when I needed it. Her tests always reflected what she had gone over with us. She does not give partial credit but her goal is for you to learn it right, not halfway. I struggled in her class but I came out of it knowing a lot more.
Graded very hard. Sometimes materials on test not covered in class.
Her lessons involved thinking outside the box. Her tests never covered info. not taught, she makes you apply what you learned in different situations. Some people have more difficulty than others. Answers must be exact, very Limited partial credit
She wasn't that bad. Just write down her EXACT explanations for problems and her EXACT definitions. She gives out a lot of worksheets with practice problems and then she'll give a sheet with the answers, but you don't have to turn them in. Just practice the problems and study her words.
This was her first time teaching Math 317. Good: Always willing to help. Presents material clearly. Bad: Talks to the class like we're children. (Unnecessary scolding). Gave a stupid "project" that most of the class did poorly on. Talks about her children too much. Bottom line: Take someone better if you can.
you want pass, this woman gives tests that are not on what she covered in class. forget it unless you read every word and number in your book 20 times.
Very cool teacher. SHe loves her classes and willing to help you with whatever you need!
great teacher, very helpfull and compassionate
She was an easy stat teacher if you are haveing problems pass stat thake her she SPEAKS ENGLISH one of the few in this department.

she was a good teacher. pay attention and take good notes and you will do good. also get on her good side, that makes a huge differnce because she does pick favorites.
She is not easy but is very specific about what she expects from you. She gets very agitated very easily, though. There is alot of homework involved, but it is necessary for earning a good grade.
Not helpful at all. Never returned my e-mails. Writes one thing in notes and expects completely different on test. Picks favorites BIG TIME. Took off points for missing a class even though she said she wouldn't if I brought dr. excuses. Not understanding or helpful. Would NEVER take from her again.
ms myers was a great professor. i did not have a problem with her teaching at all. if u pay attn. note taking really isnt necessary she gives printouts sometimes. she does lots of hands on assignment for better understanding which was very helpful. her test were a little tricky sometimes. just make sure u read the directions b4 u take the test
She's the worst teacher I've ever had. Very unclear. Extremely sarcastic. Don't ask questions. If you don't know the answer, she makes you look like an idiot. GET OUT!
Ms. Myers is NOT an easy teacher. You HAVE to work for a good grade. Her test are hard, you must know the material in and out. She provides help when needed and it is necessary to keep up with homework and attend class. She is extremely sarcastic!! Overall she is a good teacher and you will learn alot, but this class will not be easy...
This is a very difficult professor. My class started out with about 40 people and ended up with about 10. The material taught in class differs from what is on the test. If I were you I would not take her class, try someone else.
OMG, she is the most sarcastic teacher I've ever had. I dropped her as soon as I got my test back! Test do not relate to class work! no extra help or points! H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!!!!Ask anyone around! I did!
She can explain what is going on, but her tests are another story. I would recommend ANY other instructor.
A very sweet lady outside of the classroom, but not very approachable for help with work. She made the tests very differently from what she taught. You can follow and understand what she teaches, but test time is a joke.
If you like failing, then take her class, because it's a sure thing. She's very nice as an individual and explains well, but her tests are not a reflection of what she teaches. Will belittle you and make you feel like you should know this already. Avoid her class like the plague.
Ok, so shes kind of hard. She is not the nicest person in the world. She seems like maybe the first week of class but especially once drop date comes around, she turns very rude and not helpful. She has her favorites so if she likes you great, otherwise good luck. If she doesnt like you, dont even ask for help.
I was warned by a former student not to take her class, and I didn't listen. Talk about regret it, as I realized how unfair her testing is. She gets a trip out of making her tests nothing like what she teaches. She is a disgrace to the teaching profession.
First of all, I almost didn't take this class because of all the things people wrote on here. I am SO glad I didn't listen. She is one of the nicest & most helpful professors I have ever had. She will go out of her way to go slow enough for those who needed it and answers any questions. TAKE HER!!!! Idk about the other classes, but STAT for sure!
Okay guys don't be so harsh. I thought she was a GREAT teacher. When I had questions not only did she answer the question but she broke it down for you. When I emailed her questions she would ALWAYS reply. I took STAT with another person and they were horrible. Take her if you're having a rough time passing STAT.
I took mrs myers a few semesters ago after having taken a horrible teacher...The class was hard but I emailed her and every time she responded...I was one of the few who actually passed her final...Her final was the exact same questions on the previous test...So those who did not pass , it was only thier own fault..
I see that she has a pretty good overall rating. I think thats funny because most of our class hates her. She talks to us like children and talks about herself in third person. "miss myers is upset with yall blah blah" Like hellooo go teacher third grade if you wanna talk like that. She also takes off so much for little things on the tests even if
ok- there is just something about math 117 all ed. majors complain about. most people have to take it 2-3 times before they pass. but Mrs. Meyers was awesome.. Shes the reason i passed it the second go around. very helpful. If you have a choice over the rest of the teachers who teach this class - take her . :) -at least you will most likey pass
I've taken Math 100, 105, and 107. I just pass 100 over the summer with Dustin Mayer, he's the bomb, really great explainer and great examples, he was even willing to stay after class. I've taken Myers twice. Overall, i like her as a person and i think she's a good professor for those who completely understands math and are strong in math.
DO NOT TAKE HER. Math 100 is supposed to be easy and she made it ridiculously hard. she has a horrible attitude. she has favorites. if she does not like you, she will mark something wrong on your paper and the same answer right on everyone elses papers. ATTITUDE. she makes people feel stupid for asking questions in class. do not recommend.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE HER PEOPLE! She does not take the time out to make sure everyone understands what she teaches. If you need extra help or extra points to boost your grade she WILL NOT help you what so ever. She does not take the time out to help the students in desperate need of help...but she does have a few favorite students. WORST MATH TEACHER
Two thumbs up! She is the best! She is very helpful and always has everything on mooodle! Go to class, do your work and you will be fine in this class.
DO NOT TAKE HER! She makes the tests hard on purpose and is one of the rudest teachers I've ever had. Constantly puts down her students in class, is unavailable during office hours and assigns a TON of homework, including a quiz every friday NIGHT on-line. 3/4 of our class is failing right now.
TWO THUMBS WAY DOOOOWN! Mandatory attendance, graded homework every single night and tests harder than they have to be. She is the worst teacher I've ever had and she is really, really rude to her students.
She is the worst! DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!! Most of our class is failing and we all come to class every day. She gives a TON of homework and her tests do not reflect the way she teaches in class. Also, sh puts down her students in front of the class if you ask a question she thinks is "stupid." NOT RECOMMENDED if you actually want to pass MATH100.
Horrible. If you struggle with math, take a different teacher. She is difficult, mean and unwilling to help struggling students unless you are her "favorite"... which you can't be unless you're a total suck up....
She's condescending and disrespectful, but she makes statistics so EASY to understand! Lots of homework but she never checks it. It's a good idea to do it though for practice. Take her for Stat 214!
DON'T TAKE HER. the worst teacher I've ever had, and I've had my share of buttholes.
I didn't find the class that difficult but but i saw others struggle alot. you pretty much teach yourself. she isn't the best teacher i've had and she is pretty condesending sometimes. she has her mood swings and it makes for miserable times. tests were pretty difficult and the exam was just test questions revisited but it was still hard.
horrible person. couldnt teach to save her life. never take her or you will regret it.
horrible person. she couldn't teach to save her life. never take her or you will regret it. she makes it her personal mission to insult every student in the class.
If you have to take STAT, take her. She makes it wayy easier than the other stat classes. All these bad reviews seem to be about her "attitude", but that's rediculous. All professors have unique personalities. Just freaking do your work she's extremely easy.
WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT TAKE PUT YOURSELF IN THIS WOMAN'S CLASS. Tests have nothing to do with the material taught in class. Very rude to students. I did absolutely everything I could to do well in this class and I still have to retake it.
Melissa Meyers is a horrible teacher. She cannot teach the material to where the students understand her. Her test do not consist of anything she teaches in class. If you don't get the material, she tends to get angry but I promise you, It is her. She is rude to students and is easy to call you out. STAY AWAY FROM HER IF YOU CAN. SHE CAN'T TEACH!!!
Do not take her! Her method of calculating final grades was ridiculous! I received all A's on my tests except for 1 B out of 4 tests and I received a low B in the class! She would not respond to emails, did not want to help, and was very unclear! There is a huge amount of lack of communication in this class on the part of the teacher!
Awesome Teacher, She treats each student as an individual. Take Her
I had her for math 100. she was the worst teacher i had ever taken. she acted like she didn't care about the students, and she made the tests on things never covered in class. but then i was forced to take her for stat 214,and the class was actually easy. she was still rude, but i made an A. so dont take her for math 100. but for stat, yeah
She was absolutely horrible. She is very unclear on what to expect for tests. Then when you try to email her or call her, she ignores you. She didn't give us our test grades back until the 4th test (there are 4 tests and a final), so no one knew where they stood in the class until it was too late. She didn't seem like she really cared at all.
Easiest class by far, but worst professor. Talked to the class like we were in elementary school and was just rude overall. Take her if you want to get an easy good grade, but prepare to be annoyed.
Ms. Myers is not the nicest lady. She always has to put her two cents in and make rude remarks. She will pick favorites. She isn't clear with getting information across to you. She will push the online homework back a day or two when she feels like it's necessary. The tests are fine if you understand everything well. She takes attendance every day.
Horrible at giving clear instructions for assignments and tests. Also has ridiculous rules for test taking that make the tests a lot more difficult. Expects students to understand how to work problems solely using the calculator but does not teach how to do this, so I learned most of what I know by looking up videos on youtube.
Very confusing. Will treat you like you're stupid if you don't have a degree in math. doesn't teach much, my group at my table had to teach each other. Gets angry and insults you if you don't know the answer. Puts questions on test that were never covered. Had to use My Math lab which taught completely different from her.
She may seem rough, but when I actually spoke to her one on one, she was more than willing to help me and she took her time with me. She is truly concerned about what you make on the tests and wants to make sure you fully understand everything. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HER OFFICE HOURS and you will be FINE.
Will help if you ask but can be ine ganging in lectures. Not as bad as rating implies. If you work a little harder than you think you have to, you will do well. DO THE PRACTICE TESTS.
I never got the chance for office hours, but Melissa wasnt helpful in class. She would often do things that reminded me of high school teachers such as yell or keep us after the class was supposed to end, cares about us during finals and tests but makes them super hard, isn't clear when teaching some of the material.
She is very sassy and very unorganized. Melissa is not clear with anything she teaches and jumps all over the place. Avoid at all cost.
She is really just not a good teacher at all. Does't explain things well, and if you ask questions (like students should) she makes you feel stupid and talks to you like you are 4. Very rude at times and doesn't give you a good idea of what will be on the test. She will give you practice problems, but they won't even be on the test. AVOID
she is so rude and annoying, she cant just answer a simple question. she always has a smart response. DO NOT TAKE THIS WOMAN!!!
Don't take her if you can! She is extremely rude, she called a girls name wrong in class and said i don't care hopefully you drop. She told us in class to remind her to email notes to us and we all forgot and so on the test the notes she was suppose to send us had how to work the problem so she blamed us and we got all those problems wrong.
She expects a lot from you, but it's not impossible. She does tend to be sarcastic and rude, but I didn't let her get to me. If you do the homework, go to class everyday, and actually pay attention, you will be fine. She's not as bad as everyone is making her out to be, but she definitely isn't handing out grades.
As a person, she can be very rude!! As a professor, her class was not too bad, although she does grade a little tough (I once got 2 points off for adding an S to a word), so make sure everything is perfect. She isn't clear about what she expects so never leave anything out and do your best on all of the moodle/Connect quizzes.
She is a bit rude and condescending, but you can tell her heart is in the right place and she cares for her students. She assigns A LOT of homework, but has said she will never fail someone because of it. She provides plenty of practice for every section and goes out of her way to be Available to help. She makes math easy to understand.
I am extremely dissapointed in this professor. She was very cold and did not seem to care about her online students. I understand that many professors teach online courses for side money but come on! She refused to give me my grade average before the final and did not answer my emails. Cleary she had no intention of acually teaching the course.
I was skeptical after reading reviews and after the first few classes because she seemed a little cold with students, but was pleasantly surprised with the end result. Lots of homework, lots of practice problems--she definitely makes you earn your grade. But she is readily available outside of class and gives pretty informative lectures.
Math 317 is a very difficult course, but Mrs. Myers took the time to explain everything in much detail. Her exams were tough but she was always willing to go over them with you if you had any questions. She was easily available to meet with for outside tutoring. If you don't do the homework and reviews, you will not pass.
Mrs. Myers is one of the worst teachers I've ever had. She is extremely rude and dismissive to students. You better hope she's not in a bad mood because she will take it out on the class. She is a fickle grader and doesn't give partial credit even though she says she does. Don't take her. Take literally any other professor. Seriously.
She is a decent teacher at best. She speaks to students in a very disrespectful manner most of the time. Tests are not like the homework. says ignorant things when referring to race politics. Would not take again
Literally the worst professor I have ever taken and I'm now on the 3rd degree. Very condescending and acts as though you're stupid for asking questions. After a while, she just stopped responding to emails and I was in an online course so I couldn't just track her down in her office. I dropped the course so I could take it with someone else.
She can come off rude at times but you just can't focus on it, because I really don't think she means it that way. There are 3 exams, and one final. If you do poorly on the exams but better on that specific section in the final she'll change your test grade. Really great opportunity. She's kind of hard to get a hold of that's the main downside.
I was very skeptical about taking her class because all of the reviews I read but she was not a bad teacher. She can be really funny when she wants. The only grades you have are tests and homework on My Math Lab. P.S Beware of her allergies!
This was my hardest/ worst professor at this school. She was not helpful and she would make you feel stupid when asking questions. Would get annoyed if you ask her to repeat something sometimes or if you have multiple questions. Her test were hard and she is not a reasonable grader. Does not give partial credit nor extra credit.
This professor was rude to students and even goes so far to point out to the whole class when they are wrong. She assigns a ridiculous amount of homework and if you do not post your questions on line she refuses to answer them. She picks on students and will refuse to help certain students. Overall she is an awful professor and do not take her.
Very difficult to speak with and have a conversation with. Tends to be very rude. Does not like to help students when she is approached for help outside the classroom. Not student-athlete friendly. Once she decides she does not like you, there is no changing her opinion. Should not be teaching math, does not know how to teach.
Myers can come off as rude and says insensitive things, but if you are willing to go see her during office hours and email her your questions she is decent at best. Do all of the homework! It really helps your grade in the end. Study hard for the final because she will drop your lowest test if you do well on that specific part of the final
I took her for Math 102. When i read other students' reviews on this teacher, I almost did not take her, but decided to give it a chance. I'm glad I did. She is amazing! She is very nice and will always answer questions. She is accessible after class during office hours/e-mail . She does whatever it takes to help you to understand. TAKE HER!
She is the most amazing math professor in the world! she actually teaches!! please do not listen to her bad ratings, people just don't understand her humor. Easy A or B.
I am still on the fence about her. I loved her personality and how she takes the time to get to know everyone and make you feel comfortable. but her teaching style is just not the way I learn. she spent more time doing demonstrations than teaching whats on the test. I didn't fail, but it wasn't easy. I basically had to teach myself.
AVOID MS. MYERS IF YOU CAN! With all due respect, she wasnt the best teacher! Her test were way harder than the actual material and the homework a lot of the time had nothing to do with the actual lesson that we were learning in class.
I didn't want to take statistics in the first place; however, Professor Myers made the experience 100 times worse! For an online class, she is disorganized, rude at times, and just a hot mess. I dropped and plan to take this at a local college instead. I'd advise you to stay away!!!!!!
OMG, I cannot believe Melissa is still making students lives miserable I took her class in 2000 - 2002. I failed her class each time I took it. This is the only instructors name and personality I remember 20 years later and it's because the woman is a horrible teacher. PLEASE Believe those reviews. 2023 she has not and will not change
