Basically you just read stories and talk about them at the next class. Its an easy A if you can remember to read the stories, if it is hard to get time out of class than maybe this one is not for you. Great personality and good easy topics. Very hard to fail this one.

There are stories to read, you write a 300 word journal or do a flip grid on it and then a quiz the following class. The discussion questions given are the answers to the quizzes and final exam. Easy class and she's very kind!

Easy class, just make sure you read whatever gets assigned. There is no textbook but there is a book you need but don't have to pay for there is a free version. The quizzes are based on what you discuss in class take notes very hard to get a bad grade.

She is very clear on what books to read and very engaging and sweet. Just make sure to not read anything last minute because the following week she gives a quiz on what you read. Questions are pretty straightforward and she is looking for your view on what you read, so no wrong answers. It feels almost like a book club. :)

It was evident in the dynamic and engaging way Melissa delivered lectures, making even the most complex topics accessible and interesting. The enthusiasm and depth of knowledge brought a level of excitement to the classroom that made learning a truly enjoyable experience.

I would highly recommend her, the class is easy to understand. There is only one book that you can buy which is a comic and is around $10 on amazon, but the professor also post the links for you to see it too. Just do the work and you should be fine.

Professor S was amazing. I took her Honors Live Online Lit1000, and the class was exciting. We did quizzes in almost every class, but the quizzes were open-response and easy as long as you read the material she assigned. Attendance matters in this class. Professor S will always give you a heads-up on work that is due. I would retake her class!

she is a nice teacher. there is a quiz like every other week, they are mainly written response so definitely read the text prior to the quiz. you should get at least a B if you read. there isn't homework other than read and maybe record a video of yourself that is less than 2 mins answering questions. you cant makeup work

Prepare to read! She gives you discussion questions, and she then reviews them with the whole class to make sure we all understand them, which is very helpful. All the quizzes are written responses so make sure to read what she assigned to answer the questions on the quiz. You also have to have your camera on, it counts as participation.

If you fail this course with her it is due to laziness. She honestly was a pleasure!

This is a great class to take it can be online and in person, BE READY TO READ the stories are long but interesting. There is group work and a quiz every class in the begging about the story that was given to you to read. Take notes and you will pass the final without a second thought.

Really a great teacher but graded by VERY few assignments and a lot of discussions in class either in a group or as a class. TAKE notes not just to pass but also to hand in because it's required as an assignment. All tests are written. There are dumb answers; if she doesn't like the answer, you're getting it wrong. Tests are locked after taken.

I loved Melissa Stonecipher! Going into this class I dreaded reading, and I am coming out of it with a love for literature! All of the literary pieces in the class are interesting and timely. There is a quiz in almost every class. They are typically pretty simple as long as you read the appropriate homework! There is a lot of group work!

Gives a journal pass and drops the lowest quiz gives plenty of chances to improve your grade, my grade never dropped below 95% and I really enjoyed the class. Always a blast going to class and get a good group in the beginning it really makes the difference for all the group work. English and Literature are my least favorite subjects but loved it.

Loved this class. Most of the work is based on your personal opinion so as long as you put in the work and have a reason for that opinion there is no wrong answer. Amazing professor easy course, not a lot of reading and basically no homework at all

Professor Stonecipher is an amazing one. Her intro to lit was one of the best classes I've ever taken. Participation matters a lot in this class, as does group work, so be prepared. She's super understanding and a great teacher whom I greatly respect. I would recommend her class to anyone taking Intro to Literature!

Please make your life easier and take this professor . She is kind , sweet , and caring. The class is as easy as you make it.

One of the best classes I've attended in awhile. She has an overall healthy learning environment and as long as you're engaged in the stories and poems, this class should be relatively easy.

I am so glad that I took Professor Stonecipher for LIT1000. I was skeptical at first because she did tell us that we're mainly going to be working in groups for the semester and I really don't like group work at all, but it made the class so much more enjoyable! There is a lot of reading but if you do your work you really will sail smoothly.

If you are here reading, you need to just go ahead and take Professor's Stonecipher literature class. Be prepared to do lots of group discussions about the readings then come back to discuss with her. Quizzes every class but very easy. Goes over answers in class when discussed with her. JUST TAKE HER! She is amazing.

Easy-going professor who makes work fun, while you get to learn and have great discussions. A good amount of reading, as long as you commit at least an hour to read and do the journals, you are great. Be sure to submit sensible work, and participating in class helps . There are more quizzes toward the end of class, but they are easy if you read.

She's a great professor, just be ready to put in work and participate in class discussions. If you take her for summer express class be ready for a quiz every class, a lot of work but it's not difficult and quizzes are based of the reading and tests are straight from the class discussion questions. Overall would take her again and would recommend.

Professor Stonecipher's class was a breath of fresh air and a very easy going professor. She requires 1 textbook that's very cheap to get. Attendance is required and this class is very group oriented which may scare some people but once you get into them they'll become your safe space. There isn't that much reading and the homework is pretty easy.

I took the summer course, so reading was very important. If you don't read, you're already behind because everything is due the next day. Overall, she did a great job teaching and keeping us engaged. She doesn't lecture as much, and the class focuses more on group participation. The class isn't hard, so I suggest taking it.

Please do yourself a favor and take her class. I struggle with reading and had avoided taking this class, but when the time came, I took her course, and it was a walk in the park. All you need to do is participate, do the readings, and be attentive. Her quizzes and tests are based on class discussion. No trick questions. Short assignments. 10/10

Took her class express & live online . Ngl it's the best decision I made . It went by quickly & it was easy . Majority of it is group discussion & group activity . As long as your participate , there's no wrong answer . I gotta A & just do the assignments at least 2 hrs before it's due and you'll be good.

I do not like taking live online classes, but she made this class super easy. Amazing teacher highly recommend if you are a live online taker.

Loved 1102 with her! 3 papers the whole semester and an average amount of assignments. She's straightforward, and if you don't understand something, just ask. Communication with her will help you tremendously. I look forward to taking her again! If you put in the effort, she'll notice.

The course involved a lot of reading, frequent group discussions, and regular quizzes, so staying on top of the work was important. You really need to show up, participate, and stay engaged in order to do well. The professor structures the class in a really interesting way, in that it is more group work compared to lectures. It might seem intimidating, but it was honestly a really fun class. I took this course for credit, the first day I got to class she was clear that this course was not hard. You had to be present to get participation points, it's also heavily weighed on group work. Would recommend this professor, she's super nice and enthusiastic. I never liked reading but with her she makes the whole course interesting, loved her.

i enjoyed the class, the work is mostly based on your own thoughts and you won't need to use AI at all! and the teacher is really good at explaining the stories you read and their pretty interesting. you will have to do group work every day but it's pretty easy even if you're not a talkative person the final project is really fun and easy.

This was my first semester in college after taking more than 5 years off. PLEASE take her. She gives you plenty of time for each reading assignments. If you do your work, easy "A". There is a sense of nostalgia lingering around me ever since our last presentation. There is a song I listen to that brings me back each time.

She was an absolutely great professor, the work is not hard nor too much you just have to try. All in class discussions are done in groups and the homework is reading and expressing how you feel about it! Definitely a great class to take and the book we were required to get was a very good one and entertaining read. No textbook needed or used.

Professor Stonecipher creates a welcoming environment for all students. Participation is mandatory due to group work and participation grades so make sure to always be in class. The project at the end of the semester is very easy and fun. Definitely would take her again!!!

While you do read a good amount most of the readings are poems or short stories nothing to bad. This teacher truly cares and as long as you read and participate in the groups you will be fine.

I took Prof. Stornecipher for Lit100, and I can honestly say she was one of my favorite professors to work with. Her teaching style makes the class enjoyable, and we do a lot of group work. If that's something you enjoy, I would highly recommend taking her.

As a dual enrollment student, this class was super easy! Form a good discussion group early, do the simple homework, and take advantage of extra credit. Just show up and do the work—you'll be fine. One of the best professors I've had!

One of the best professors you could come across, trust me when I say that I never liked poetry or reading, but with this professor, she allowed us to use our creative thinking. Professor-expect to participate in group discussion, this is the bare minimum, you don't have to be right just participating. Reading is short, mostly a few poems/a short story. One comic book to read, shouldn't take long. Quiz at the start of class. Would take again if I could! Very kind and interactive professor. Replies to emails quickly.

Assignments are written/video journals due before class, and notes after. Group work is minimal and straightforward. The only required book was Fahrenheit 451: a graphic novel. Very easy to manage.

Attendance is a grade and mandatory to stay for the entire class. Homework is easy; you will have to read stories. You do have to work in groups, and together she is interactive and will expect everyone to answer. If you do the assignments, it is easy. She is nice, and the course went by fast.

You're going to have to read, but the readings are great. I actually liked the the readings a lot. Some of them have an audio option as well. Prof was great. Overall 4.5/5 class due to the group questions we have to do, but it's really not a problem as it's all during class time.

This professor is fair but strict. Expect lots of reading and daily group work, though she's accommodating with groups. Note-taking matters, and some work is due before or right after class. Your camera must stay on for attendance. Participation, video journals, and timed written quizzes are required. She knows when you switch between tabs 4 quiz.

Honestly, I really recommend her. She was my favorite and easiest class throughout college so far. She will have you read and do written/video journals but you only talk about how it made you feel. If you want an easy A class, this is your sign! You will do breakout group work but honestly its helpful and easy. You do have to have your camera on.

If you are debating taking this class TAKE IT! Professor Stonecipher was amazing. Although there is a lot of reading, she makes the class fun and interesting. I think she was a wonderful professor. She had us take a short quiz every class based on the readings from homework. This class was heavy on group work, which I liked. I got to share my perspective with classmates. There are no makeup quizzes, but she drops the lowest quiz grade. Overall, she was such a great professor and cared about her students.
