I TOOK HER FOR LAB & LETS JUST SAY I HAD TO GET USED TO HER...SHE BRIEFLY GOES OVER THE THINGS YOU KNOW..SO MOSTLY YOU HAVE TO TEACH YOURSELF..IF YOU STUDY & JUST ASK HER A BUNCH OF QUESTIONS YOU SHOULD BE FINE
Storm is hands down the best lab professor at Upstate. She was the lab instructor for Anatomy during the summer, but we all actually looked forward to going to lab because she made it fun, interesting, and simple enough so that we could understand it. She's young, hilarious, and always there to help students. DEFINATELY RECOMMEND!
She can be a good teacher but she doesn't go over everything and her test questions are very hard. If you can take some one else then just do it. She is better in lab though.
worst teacher i have ever had. avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!!!! she is great for lab but she should not ba allowed to call herself a teacher. Her tests have random questions that she never even talked about and her fist test had nothing to do with he study guide she gave out. If you take her you will more than likely drop it within the first two tests
She is a horrible and just like the person said below me, she should not call herself a teacher. I had an A in lab but had to drop her lecture because the highest grade I got on a test is a 47. I would not take her if I am a freshman entering college. If you are extremly smart and do not mind studying 3 hours or more a day.
She is hard! BUT then again so is anatomy! she goes way too fast. she is very sweet and tries to help. I recommend getting a tutor and GO TO SI! if you are a self starter and like to move fast, she is perfect. :) she is AMAZING for lab!
Professor Storm is by far a very hard teacher. The material on the tests are not in the notes, therefore you HAVE to read the chapters in the textbook in order to get a decent grade. She teaches at a fast pace so again, reading the chapter will help you. She is helpful when you go to her office and ask questions so that is highly recommended!
Storm is hard but she is so smart. I love her. I am very pleased with my grade. It takes hard work but if she sees that you are trying she is more willing to help. I had her for Anatomy Lab.
Storm is probably one of the best professors I have ever had. She knows the material very well and if you pay attention it is often very interesting. The class does take some studying but it's not impossible. I love Storm and she has taught me so much. I especially love her lab. If you are a hard worker and like a challenge take Storm.
Its a hard class, but she makes it so interesting! Very hyper in teaching style, but makes things memorable. Hard class, but never be scared to talk to her! She LOVES to help you out! She wants students to learn and will go to extremes to help you do so, if you show interest.
She is hard, however she is so helpful and makes the course very interesting. Talking the course from her will help you in the long run especially if youre a nursing major. If you put in the hours you will definitley be able to make the grade you want in her class.
She is the hardest prof I have EVER had! But she is so sweet! She gave me a break and I appreciate it. You will learn and be pushed to your breaking point but it will be worth it in the end.
Super Great is all I can say You need to bring your A game but she provides everything you need and more to succeed in this class its a hard class no matter what but she is great
OKKKKkk well if you're not into studying everyday 2+ hours don't take Storm, this class takes up most of your life....I also took her for anatomy but physiology is 10x worse. You have to put in all the time that you can...get a tutor too! She is a nice professor % does try to make the class interesting but lets just say only the strong survive.
Very challenging class. I took her for anatomy and had to study every -single-day for at least 2.5 hours. She is helpful if you seek her help. Exams came alot from the book.
She is very unclear. Her test are probably the most hardest test in the world.
My class started with about 90 students and ended with about 20. I would not recommend taking Storm as a freshman. What you expect to be on the quizestest will not be on there. She's very energetic and smart but I just wouldn't recommend her unless you're super smart
Storm was very difficult. She counts off for spelling on tests. Do the reading questions, study questions and look at notes. For quizzes it is all vocab from notes. Test are another story! They are hard! Know the material front to back. My first test the average was a 48%. Started with 98 people and after the first test we had like 40 something.
Professor Storm, had a really difficult course. The lectures aren't bad and the quizzes weren't horrible but the exams will kill you every time. You start with a 100 students and by mid-semester you're left with 2030... It's definitely challenging and no amount of studying will help, unless you spent countless hours and attend all SI sessions.
You MUST study the material every day. Print out notes ahead of class. Do ALL reading questions, they will be on tests. Tests are multiple choice with a section of short answer & diagram questions & are detailed. Quizzes help your grade. If you need help on anything ASK, Mrs. Storm does want to help you! STUDY& IT IS POSSIBLE TO PASS THIS CLASS!
I took Human Anatomy with her. Taking notes wasn't really a big deal because the test were straight out of the book and the reading questions. I passed with a C and i barely studied. So if you study a lot you will probably pass as well. The quizzes weren't that tough, they actually helped my grade.
I am in the nursing program now and am so happy that I took anatomy with her. Yes her class was tough, but my nursing classes are tougher. She is very nice if you stop by her office for help.
HARD!
This class is super hard. Lecture wasn't as informative. Quizzes are easy but LOTS of studying and reading are essential to pass the tests. Get ready to cry and work hard!
Ms. Storm makes you work for your grade. Make sure to actually do the review sheets and worksheets that she provides, because some of the questions are on the test. READ THE TEXTBOOK!!!! Her lectures are awesome and her makes them entertaining. Watch for the test, she is not trying to trick you, but carefully read the questions.
The first day of class she tells us "statistically 1/3 of you will drop, 1/3 will fail, and about 1/3 will pass." And that's exactly what happened. We started out with about 79 people and about 30 passed. I dropped it. Tests are multiple choice, short answer, and a diagram worth 20 points.. take Dr. Ford. Much better and fairer.
Mrs. Storm isn't nearly as bad as her reviews make her. She is always willing to help! I will admit, her test are hard, but after you get use to them you will be fine!
I am not going to say she is a terrible teacher. However, she should not be teaching a freshman pre-req class. Anatomy in itself is challenging and she made it no easier. I unfortunately had to drop but when I took it again, with a better teacher, things were so much better. You have to be strong in science to take this class.
I do not recommend taking her course for your first semester of your freshman year. Her Anat. and Phys. course is very intense. You'll need to study everyday. It is a lot of information to take in so try not to cram. I do suggest going to her office hours and attend the study session. Attendance is HIGHLY suggested.
If you are looking for an easy A, do not take her class. If you are looking to actually learn and retain knowledge, her class is great. She is caring and if she doesn't know the answer to your question she writes it down and tells you the answer at the next class. Her tests are hard but that is what I needed. I am a nurse now because of her class
I'm a biology/pre-pharmacy major and I had to take A&P as a prereq for pharmacy school. Storm is hilarious and is great in lecture, but if you don't listen with full focus and you don't read the textbook you'll have a hard time just passing the class. Extremely difficult class but you learn so much and Storm makes it interesting
storm will make you work for it. she is tough, but i learned so much. go to her office she will help you get concepts you have trouble with. be prepared for her tests to push you to your limit they have written portions that can be hard but FAIR. if she goes over something twice or there is a picture or graph in your notes its an essay question.
I would not recommend anyone take her for Anatomy, especially freshmen. She lectures from slides, and the tests are quite hard (multiple choice, fill the blank, and long answer, lab exams all fill in blank with no word bank.) Not impossible, but be ready for all of your study time to HER class alone. She's very tough, also gives no partial credit.
Honestly, DO NOT take her A&P1. She is so rude when you go to her one on one- told me to seek counseling because I was struggling her class. Makes you feel dumb if you ask her a question. Goes over powerpoints, but she makes her tests 10x harder. I spent most of my time studying for her class but nothing helped.
She is a very good teacher and explains things well, but she teaches totally different than what is going to be on the test. If you do take her i recommend reading the textbook and chapters by yourself and then add her notes and lecture to the notes you took from the book for better understanding.
She's a great teacher, but her exams are way too hard for anyone to take. She's the best teacher to explain a lecture, it's just that she requires too much. Granted studying is key, but this is ridiculous. Her exams are made of essays, short answer AND multiple choice. If you're lazy but need this class for your major, CHANGE YOUR MAJOR!
Professor Storm seems like a nice person, but a poor professor. She goes over too much material per exam while not giving enough practice beforehand. She should have other ways in her class to do well other than the tests and the quizzes, which don't count for much and are all matching, which don't prepare you for the tests at all.
She is difficult, but her lectures are great and it helped me so much! She always finds ways to tie everything together and makes lectures interesting by doing weird things that you are sure to remember which always helps me when I study! The textbook and workbook are essential to this class.
BEWARE! One of the hardest teachers at Upstate it is so sad people have to change majors because of this women. She started out with 75 students and it was only 13 left of us thats truly sad. Her test are super hard. The SI leader is just as bad as her!! Only reason why Im passing because of the private tutor I have. Dont take her!!
Lectures are pretty heavy, she does a great job of explaining the material. However, I would not recommend this professor. Very tough grader expects way too much time to be spent on just her class alone. Get a tutor! If you do end up in her class take it alone! Attend office hours! Test are very hard and nothing like the study guide.
Tests are nothing like the lectures and very specific details are tested
I am not even done with the class, in fact, I am 2 months in. This is the worst teacher I have ever had. Her lectures, and notes doesn't match the test at all. If you're a freshman, I wouldn't recommend this class. I constantly study, but still fail every test.
If you go to class and take notes, its really not that bad. Its pre-nursing, so its going to be tougher than your other classes, but definitely doable if you put in the work.
Do not take her! you are setting yourself up for failure! All I do is study and I still fail. She tests super hard so just go ahead and drop the class.
Im a freshman nursing major and at the beginning of the semester we started out with over 100 students were now down to about 10 people. Her lectures are hard and fast pace and her test are even harder. As a professor shes tough but she has a good personality and is willing to help you if need be.
I hate that I have to give her such a low rating, because she seems like a really nice person. But it is nearly impossible to pass her class, much less do well! I study for so many hours a week, know the PowerPoints and models inside and out, and somehow still make in the 40s on lab practicals. Class size has gone from like 30 to literally 7.
First thing, A & P is going to be hard whoever you take. Storm is harder because she pushes you to really learn the material and sets high standards that she is willing to help you achieve. Her teaching style is energetic and exciting which caused me to be more interested in the material. You'll have to work CRAZY HARD but it's worth it:)
Storm is a very difficult professor but she is willing to help you if you go to office hours. She knows her material very well and makes her lectures very interesting to listen to. She gives extra credit on each test if you do the workbook!
She helps CERTAIN students. Most of the time I went to her office hours she made me seem like I was dumb & she definitely avoided certain questions. Shes NOT a great professor to me.
I took her class last semester and I miss her so much! She is tough but by far the best professor I have ever had! She breaks it down, but you have to be able to understand concepts and follow her thought process. She is funny and even now I am in A and P 2 and I still go to her regularly for help, because my professor now sucks. Keep rocking Storm
Mrs. Storm is a professor who is very passionate about what she teaches. She is very tough, dont get me wrong, but thats because she makes you EARN your grade. Her classes are lecture heavy and there is a lot of material to learn, but she will help you as much as you need it! She is also a very nice lady who has a wonderful personality.
Mrs. Storm has a great personality and is funny, but her teaching is complete garbage. She teaches really fast and doesn't give homework. It doesn't matter how hard you study, you're bound to get a bad grade. I went to SI and that didn't even help! I suggest that you don't take her for lecture or lab. I even did the workbook for extra credit, cancel
She is very strict on spelling and attendance. I was taking a practical and a girl came 5 minutes late and Professor Storm kicked her out. These practicale are way too hard, mostly written, and there is a pre lab quiz before every class. There is study shack but it's always crowded and you can hardly use any of the models. I suggest avoiding her.
She's a very good teacher. The material is very hard but if you work for it you will pass with a good grade. Mrs. Storm is very understanding, nice, and fair. I would definanly take her again!
Very nice lady, but a very tough professor. Make sure you listen in class and take advantage of the workbook. She is always available during her office hours which is a good thing.
Storm is a tough professor. You have to work for your grade and study a lot. Some of her questions are not straight forward but most are from the manual. Do the review activities and study 2 weeks in advance and you should pass. She is tough, but good.
Storm is hard but fair. She expects you to do the work but if you do, she is a great professor who will help you in any way she can. I was terrified to take her because of what this website said, but she proved every eval wrong. Definitely give her a chance.
Amazing person , but her lecturing is complete trash.
I would absolutely never recommend this professor. She is nasty, rude and is only worried about how stressed out she is and how overwhelmed she is (she actually said this through a zoom). Horrible grader, does not respond to emails (if she does it could be days later). Makes, condescending comments when chatting or lecturing. Please do not take.
She has a reputation for being a tough grader and rude, but she's honestly really caring and her lectures are super informative and make a lot of sense. She makes you work for the grade but you will be extremely prepared for A&P 2. Don't be scared of her if you're willing to work hard and study and actually know the material.
She was a great professor, very encouraging and caring. The class is so organized and planned you basically stick to a schedule from the beginning and it never changes. Lots of time to watch the online lectures, so you can do it at your own pace. Goes well with the corequesite lab class.
She's the worst professor I have ever had. She speaks to students as if they were trash and makes you feel like a complete idiot. They say those that cant do teach.... exhibit A. Nearly Impossible to pass. Stay away she will make your life a nightmare
The work she gives is an absolutely ridiculous amount. She doesn't lecture, just dumps homework at you that is barely even on the exam. She belittles students and speaks to them like garbage. She is a disgrace to other teachers who actually care. Please do not take this class. She has formal complaints filed against her.
worst professor I have EVER had. She is absolutely not flexible with your schedule ESPECIALLY WHEN SHE KNOWS SHE HAS TOVBE FLEXIBLE WITH IT. not caring or understanding, clearly doesnt care about helping students when in need of it. Was wanted by many students not to take her class, that shes horrible, and I learned first hand. Not recommended.
Professor Storm is one of my favorite professors. She did so well changing the class material to an online setting. The class was extremely hard for the fact that we couldn't actually attend class or lab but she really tried her best to work with us. She did an amazing job with the lectures and I wish that I could have taken the class in person.
Professor Storm is not a good professor because she has the worst attitude when you email her about something and her work is very hard and the test is hard too and the class made me very stressful and this is why Im changing my major because of her.
Wish all my teachers were this prepared. Very organized and streamlined. There are so many points to earn that you actually have work to fail. Additionally, Supplemental Instruction is offered on day 1. Opportunity to replay all lectures online. Notes are pre-typed to allow you to focus on the lecture and add side notes for greater understanding.
She is definitely an acquired taste; however, she is quick to respond to emails. She is always willing to meet with students outside of class and offer assistance wherever it is needed. She is a character though, so if you cannot handle ENERGY, it may not be a good fit for you.
Good professor but attendance is mandatory. This class is tough, but to me she made the material a little easier to understand by connecting the material to other more understandable things. She made acronyms, stories, etc to help us remember things
to me I feel like she didn't care as much for when I did ask help to the point I was struggling in the class. I did feel like she was against me as an student to the point I had my parent step in because as a student some of the things that was said to me should have not came out of her mouth.
Her lectures matter and not showing up could be detrimental to your studying. I attended every SI session as an extra study tool because taking your own time to study is crucial. She is a very kind professor if she sees that you are trying. her lectures are detailed and the way she describes things helped my studying by a mile. I fully recommend
she is great mom and teacher she teaches nurceing students and loves to work with you
She's very goofy. She cares for her students and wants them to succeed, she gives you extra credit and other assignments to boost your grade. She makes this class fun and safe place. ( but you have to keep up with her and study a lot for this course.)
She is very prepared and always had an acronym or story to help explain content and make it easier to remember. She also provides guided notes, which allows you to focus on the lecture and add more detailed notes rather than trying to copy everything down. You definitely have to work for your grade, but she is makes it clear what she expects.
talks fast and quietly in lecture, likes to lecture on new units while taking tests on past units. Tests has data not in lectures. Take Jay Brown for Lab if you can.
Storm is the best professor but she does expect you to put in the work. She is willing to help and answer questions that you have. She offers extra credit that go's so far. She also provides great resources. Write the notes she provides before class or print it out so you can take detailed notes during lecture, those extra notes go a long way.
Storm is the best professor but expects you to put in the work. She will answer your questions and help you every way she can. She offers extra credit that makes a huge difference. Write or print her provided notes before class and take extra notes during class. The extra notes go a long way. Be ready to study. Overall, she's great!
She is a very tough grader so make sure you know your stuff! She is nice if you go see her in her office hours and if you ask her questions in class, but she does not prepare you for the type of questions she is going to ask on the practical.
Personally would not take this class ever again. Throws big words and introduces new concepts in a way that is very unclear. Only good thing was the prerecorded lectures online.
Don't like her
This professor lectures for 85% of lab, the procedures and activities are short and insufficient. Her quizzes and tests are extremely hard and she grades very strictly; you are not prepared.
the worst teacher I've ever had to put up with in my entire life. Seems friendly very energetic, But when it comes to the actual education, she makes it very hard to succeed.
she makes things unnecessarily difficult and will give you the hardest exams you've every had. Also will count things wrong if you misspell a word. Much harder than the lecture (with a different professor). Wouldn't recommend taking unless you have to. Nice lady, but ridiculously difficult course for the level it is
Definitely go to lectures!!! She made many concepts easier due to her power of association, but if you do not do the work in her class you will struggle.
She is a very kind professor and willing to help in any way she can. There is plenty of extra credit possible. Her lectures are different, and she's kind of wild.
Extremely difficult professor. Grades harshly for minor issues (spelling, underlining, phrasing). Unreasonable with life circumstances—missing class for ANY reason is costly. Rarely available for help. Many students end up repeating her class and still struggle to pass.
Very difficult teacher! While energetic, her teaching style makes the class unnecessarily hard and grading even tougher. She's not supportive, and most students end up repeating her course. I would not recommend taking her.
