She is kinda cool, but teaches very fast and hardly explains well. Her tests are hard to pass. I'll say that 45% of the class are failing.
She treats her students like they're preschoolers with silly games and busy work assignments that don't particularly help you, but if you ask a valid question she gets an attitude as if you should know the answer already. Half the class is failing.
Shes not bad. You do have to study though, which is a foreign concept for most people. The tests are OK but she does answer questions in a manner that make you feel kind of dumb. However, she does give extra credit at times which can help alot.

First things first: If you’re looking for an “easy A”, do yourself (and her) a favor, and take another professor’s class. Spare her the agony; she has better things to do with her time. If you want to learn chemistry, TAKE HER CLASS!!! You will be extreme
She will work your butt off for the A, but if you get it then you know your sh*t...not like other professors who hand out A's.

Dr. B is a nice person. She's very vivacious and talkative. Unfortunately, this class is too hard to be comprehended in 2 hrs. Sometimes she drifts from the topics to talk about her family. In order to pass the class, STICK TO THE TUTOR!!!
Withdrew out of class in the first week. She was by far the most awful professor I had run across in three years. Stay Away.Treated her students like children. Complained about father-in-law way to much. Would say one thing then go back on her word.

Dr Boeringer expects you to learn and know your stuff. If you are looking to skate through a class then this is not for you. Tests include essays. Expect to have to earn your A. You will come out of this class very fluent in Chemistry. Don't be afraid to ask for extra help.

Her tests are impossible. She grades very UNFAIRLY! Most of the class DROPS after the deadline because she is so horrible. She just wants to make you learn but she is a total .....? Hopefully you wont have to see.
Listen up, she was a great professor. She is always ready to help, she will sit before class, during class and after class to make sure you understand. She will grab you by the hand and help you, if you look for her first. Just do you work, and be in class. She is the best. Very intelligent.

Dr. B is a very good teacher. She will make you earn your grade. She is a very fast paced teacher so be careful, but whenever you are in doubt she will do anything if you are willing to go up to her. She has a very kind heart. The course is hard, but she is not to blame.

She says that you need to study 2 hours out of class for every hour in, but if you want to pass..you better make it 21 hours of study time and 3hours in class! Forget sleep, eating, your job! Dr. B. is very enthusiastic and interesting, but she talks very fast and by the time you realize you have a question, she is on to the next subject. Be prepared to study and write - A LOT. Her tests are essay and she wants DETAILS. You can get an A, but plan on committing your life to chemistry, at least 15 hours of study per week. Good luck!
Dr.B is truly not as bad as they say. You must study for the test, but it's not awful to complete. The only thing that I didn't like about her class was the labs because she just threw us in head first. She doesn't explain the labs very well, which can be pretty confusing. She is a nice teacher but I didnt like her class that much. Her tests are hard and are all in essay form. Her labs are hard as well, she doesnt explain what the lab is about and she doesnt allow you to use your lab book during the lab. She makes you write a lot, it felt more like a composition class. Overall, she is a good teacher but very hard.
This lady certainly gets the award of "Worst Professor ever in the history of Valencia". Students, I think we shouls speak up cuz professors like her are not worth the paying, it's our money. Well, consider this a WARNING, and please don't take her unless U want a headache. Her test and assogments are really nfair and hard, good LUCK.

Okay, this professor is extremely hard. I recommend taking her if you are only taking organic for the semester. Yes, all the comments are true about all the writing, quizzes, assignments, labs, and etc. alot of things are hard about her, but let me tell you, she has great study techniques and is actually thorough. But get ready to be stressed!
Dr. B has a different style. She can get into your nerves, but you need to be willing to study. She can be hard because she demands a lot, but with her directions anyone can achieve a higher grade. Chemistry is not an easy subject. See her after class, she will spend an hour or more helping you to understand what was vague. She is a nice person. ;)

A very, very bad teacher. She should teach kids in elementary shool instead of college students. Her way of doing math is very confusing, but you have to follow her way of solving math problems, otherwise, you lose points, because you did not write "steps".

Let me tell you something If you are going to be a Chemistry major take her, but be ready to study more than 20hrs a week for her. She thinks that her class is the only class you are taking and she expects you to know a lot about chemistry and will make you look stupid if you don't know it!!!! She is a waste of breath. All she talks about is learning styles and the like and yet she sucks at teaching. She thinks she is a master of communication but in reality she is a real nut case. Lots of props and jumping around for examples, but still boring and useless excercise of class time.

She makes you learn your information but you have to teach yourself. She will call on you in class. Quizzes each morning (almost). Tests are around 10 questions and in essay format in which she grades grammer. She plays favorites so make sure you get on her good side the first day of class. She is there to help after class, so go! Lots of studying!

dr. b will not reveal to you her grading rubric. and if you ask, she will bite your head off. my questing is, if your grading rubric is so strict and rigid, why are you ranting about your husband, kids, and your so-called "gen-ed" requirements? i think we can all survive in the real world without your "gen-ed" suggestions on how to live our lives.
something needs to be said about this teachers TIME MANAGEMENT. she never returns after breaks when she says she will (one day we took an HOUR AND 15 MINUTE BREAK). class is sometimes held in the cafe. and on a day you want to stay (like the end of a lab, when you need the texts in class), she has a "meeting" & kicks you out of class 30 mins early.
she is more interested in appearing as a cut throat chemistry teacher than being an actual teacher and mentor in your learning career. its all about her.
Wish I had read the comments before taking her class. I took Organic Chemistry for majors at a major 4-year university 10 years ago and got an A in the class. I got an F in her first test! You never know what she wants from you in the test because of her vague essay questions. AVOID HER LIKE THE PLAGUE!! It's just as bad as it sounds, if not worse.

I read the posts before signing up- I had no choice, she was the only class open!She is just as hard as everyone says but not as brutal. She is a true chemist and really helps you understand.I recommend her for college freshman and joint-enrollment. She will help you develop proper college study habits. I recommend her if you truly want to learn.
it's pretty easy to get an a in this class even though her grading scale is completely random. she gives a lot of drop grades, but still, she is the most annoying teacher iv ever had. she always goes off topic and repeats everything over and over. even though i got a good grade, i would not recommend her class!
Worst experience of my life,I have never been so stressed about one class. Like others have said she does go off topic alot, she is not organized, sometimes makes you feel inferior. Her test are hard and she is picky. This class will be your life, and dont miss a class, she gives you no sympathy. Somehow I made it with a B but it was a nightmare.
The whole class didn't understand and assignment she sent us home to do. What does she do about it? She tells us to figure it out amongst ourselves while she grades quizzes from another class in the back while we get frustrated and angry. WHY IS VALENCIA PAYING HER SALARY AGAIN?

Her class isn't necessarily hard, it is a lot of work though. She won't try to trick you on her tests, she tells you everything that will be on it. There are tons of opportunities for extra credit and she has several quiz drops and you can replace your worst test with the final. She is very helpful, I would recommend her but be prepared to work.
Don't go in her class expecting it be to easy. Chem 2 is hard but she does help with a lot of extra credit. She also takes your best quizzes and replaces your lowest test grade with the final. But you will have to work for the grade. She tells you upfront what will be on the tests and quizzes so as long as you work, you'll do fine.
Syllabus was very vague, and for an intensive summer session, I would expect a very structured class. I am very organized and found her class to be "all over the place." In addition, her grading system isn't clear. It was difficult for me to know where I stood at any given time. Her exams are all essays, and her grading is extremely inconsistent.
If you really want to learn chemistry then sign up for her class. She is always willing to help you if she sees you are making an effort. However, this is college so you have to work hard for your grade. Don't expect this class to be easy. Just work hard and it will pay off. She gives lots of extra credit opportunities.
She overburdens you with homework and quizzes. Wants everything to be perfect, perfect spelling, grammar, and sentence structure. I thought this was going to be chemistry, but instead its Chem with English. Avoid her if you want to maintain your GPA and chem isnt your major. Instead of motivating you, she makes you feel like you are bound to fail.
Her teaching style just so different.Some concept is so easy, but she has to make it difficult to understand. I took chemistry again with aother teacher, and the professor that I am working with now make chemistry so much intersting and easy to learn!If you really want to learn chemistry please take someone else!

In Molec/Microbio @ ucf and now headed to med school. Dr B for org1&2 is the best!! Granted you WILL EARN your grade but you WILL LEARN Orgo and is more than willing to help her students out, meets at Dunkin Donuts for study sessions! Essay format tests but devoted to the material! For Org there is no one better! Even helped with biochem and MCAT!
I passed highschool AP Chem with an A and I struggled the entire semester with this class. Hardest class I have ever taken would not recomend her to anyone. If you take this class you will regret it I dont care how good you are at Chemistry you are not up to Dr. B's standards. First C I have ever gotten in my life.
After being a student of Dr. B for two semesters, I can honestly say that hard work does pay off. Will she hold your hand? No, nor should she. This is college, and an opportunity to better yourself. If you really want to grow mentally, and learn how to be a worker, take Dr. B, and she will whip your mind into shape! Don't take her if you're a wuss
She knows her subject, but she is not always able to explain it during the classwork. Labs are hard and she does not cover the material at all. It seems impossible fully complete ANY of her tests. You will have to study during office hours EVERY time after class to receive a good grade.
She is a hard teacher. She does not hold your hand and can sometimes make you feel dumb but she gives you plenty of extra credit. She tells you everthing that is going to be on the test. Even gives you outlines for the essays with everything she wants on it. She will even proof read your essays prior to the test. If you do bad thats on you.

She is extremely nice, but very strick on her grading!! Everything has to be exactly how she wants it, and if not she takes away points!!! NOT AN EASY A AT ALL!!!! This teacher is so hard. she left me traumatized after I took this class. I'm scared for my next chemistry class. I couldn't get tutoring from anybody because her type of teaching is so different, only from like 2 of her past students. It was major stressful especially while taking 3 other classes; all my time was taken up studying for this class.
Dr. B is a nice person, but her class is extremely hard. She is very picky when she grades your paper. she took points off for every little thing, like spelling, and scientific figures. I've had Dr.B for Chem 2, Org 1 and I'm about to take her for Org 2. Dr.B is a very smart women, but her lectures can be confusing to some students. She is not an easy teacher, but you do learn a lot in her classes. She provides a lot of extra credit that is VERY helpful to your grade. You have to be willing to study for her classes!
She's cool, but she doesn't take time to make something clear. She then rambles on about her family and it wastes so much time. Her tests are very hard and the daily quizzes can be also, because when she teaches you a new topic, you better know it the next day or you're "DOOMED". Take advantage of her office hours, because it helps and also STUDY!

Dr. B is a tough professor, however, she is very willing to help and is very smart. She does talk about her kids and family a lot, but after taking her class you will know Chemistry! She wants you to do well and her grading system is designed to do so. She will replace your lowest test grade with your final exam grade if it's better.
Essays for exams, you need to go to her office hours to get more practice for quizzes/exams. You basically teach yourself and when you ask her questions she makes you feel stupid. Tutoring helps you better understand but make sure the work is done her way.

Teaching method is horrific, and very unclear. Assigns ridiculous homework assignments with ridiculous requirements, and her office hours are mandatory to pass due to her unclear explanations in class. DO NOT, DO NOT take this professor.

Dr.B is a very nice and extraordinary person in which i respect a lot, due to her experience and intelligence. The only complaint is that she does not put the grades on blackboard, which makes it difficult for me to track my progress. She is a really tough grader and makes you work for the grade.
She is take off points for small mistakes. Does not give make-up test or quizzes. There is a quiz every class period. Test lack a lot of information given as notes. Test are essay based, no multiple choice. Does not hand back labs competed. No lab manual. Do not expect an A in this class. Office hours are 30 minutes. No powerpoints.

Dr. B is amazing and wants all of her students to learn. Yes, she is a tough grader but she also gives you all the tools you need. She gives a quiz every class but only chooses the top 10. She gives 3 exams but if you nail the final, she drops your lowest. She knows her chemistry and by the end of the course, so will you.
So it's literally only my 3rd day out here and she's the worst professor I've ever taken. I'm taking this for a pre-req for my Masters degree. I did excellent in Chem 1, but her problem is alluding everything to the kids who took her before. She uses the book, but skips anything she wants, and quizzes you on things you don't even go over in class.
I don't understand the need to quiz a student everyday but I'm taking her tuesdays and thursdays. She will go over a concept on tuesday and expect you to be an expert by thursday when the quiz comes. How is that possible when people work and have other classes to do? DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE I MADE AND TAKE THIS TEACHER.
Dr. B is a solid choice for chemistry if you actually want to learn! Her lectures and tests can be pretty heavy but once you do the test review and GO TO office hours, you should be fine. She gives a pop quiz every class but only takes your top 10 grades. She replaces your lowest test with the final. If you take her, be prepared to work really hard
I was a regular student, just like you. I read these reviews and shrugged it off, "I'm sure they're exaggerating..." BOY WAS I WRONG. This lady is insane, her lectures are barely understandable, be prepared for some serious self-teaching. If you don't do things her way, it's wrong, even if it's right. I am convinced someone hurt her. DON'T DO IT.
The WORST professor I've ever had in my life. As if taking Chemistry online because of covid isn't hard enough, she basically sets her students up to fail. She provided no lectures or notes, only drawings on a white board, which make no sense since she doesn't lecture. She also posted the entire semester of lab work to complete in the last 2 weeks

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH THIS PROFESSOR!!. She is so unprofessional and all she talks about is her private Life. Whenever she does teach chem she skips steps and does not explain how we can work it out or what tools we can use to self-study, Then she expects us to solve difficult problems we have not covered or learned in depth.
