teacher is clear helpful and understanding, honestly cant think of a negative.
Great professor, really out going and extremely helpful. Hope to have this professor again!!
A lot of homework, but teacher is helpful and does everything in her power to help you learn.
Mrs. Kaufmann, is an amazing teacher I have her for to classes this semester and 2 next semester, she is a very caring and helpful teacher. It is not an easy A you have to do the assignments and she will help you in any way she can. She actually cares about you and wants you to pass.
Straight forward. Cares about her students. You aren't going to pass if you don't do the work but she will work with you if you are struggling to understand something. Very Responsive. She'll repeat things to make certain you understand her expectations. Animated & makes faces so lectures aren't as boring.
A real programmer who is passionate about the importance of having solid skills. Her teaching style is different from others. She's not afraid to admit when she makes a mistake and she's energetic.
Don't skip. There's a couple of big projects but do all the work and you can easily pass. She teaches you about the user perspective and explains why design matters as much a functionality.
Easy class very informative just get your work done and Participate you should be fine. Fun class Ive had a good experience.
This class is a joke. Pearson gets stuff wrong. Professor Kaufmann catches it and tells it to you straight. She's been there and knows her stuff. You'll have homework but do it and you will pass.
If you have a question, don't hesitate to ask. Even if it is something she doesn't know (which is rare) she will work with you to help you. You can tell she's a programmer because she doesn't act like most teachers.
She expects you to do your part but she'll help you in anyway she can. She was new this semester so she had some tough weeks but I'd take her again for sure. She cares a lot about the students.
Pearson is a mess but Prof K knows her stuff. She'll keep you attention with funny faces and voices. She is very passionate about IT but gives you a chance to share what you know. Class discussions were great!
I learned more about the Software Development Lifecycle in the one week we covered it here than in my programming classes so far. She knows her stuff and she's not boring. She cares a lot about what you think.
Witty, funny and considerate.
I love her class overall. She is an AWESOME !! teacher. knows what she is talking about. She is always there for you and wants you to pass also cares about students. I would definitely take her class AGAIN !!!
She'll say she's a jerk but she's not. She is going to expect you to do your work and not have a string of excuses. She's funny, fair, and really interested in what she can do to help you learn.
A real programmer, probably more a programmer than a teacher but that's not bad. she's energetic and smart but she's not interested in excuses. She is all about making sure you learn solid skills. She hammers hard on the importance of being able to troubleshoot your own code.
Smart, Funny, and Straightforward. Wish I could take her next semester for Java because ASP isn't as common.
Shes a newer teacher who knows what her students need for a future in Programmimng. Shes helpful, encouraging, and knowledgable. Her biggest things are check your code and comment your code. The book is ok doesn't go into much detail with some of the code but W3Schools is a recommended online site that helps alot. I would definetly take her again.
The semester just started and I already want this instructor in every course. She's energetic and funny.
New teacher coming straight off of the job. She's got a lot of real world knowledge and really cares about her students.
More programmer than teacher but that's not bad. She says she's a jerk but that's because she isn't a pushover but she really cares. Quick response time on emails and funny in class.
Use cases to Design Elements she covers it all and makes is easy to learn. Covers commercial web design and does a great job.
Really cares about her students. She's a no BS kind of teacher. She gives it everything she has and isn't afraid to admit if she makes a mistake. Will take her for more classes.
Seriously, the best! When through the trouble of adding videos to the course as we went. You have a problem - just talk to her. she really cares. Also she offers Live chat sessions for extra help.
LOVE this class! Very responsive prof. Ask a question and she will get you an answer within 24hrs, sometimes in just a few hours. Unlike some professors online that ignore their email
Can't wait to take the mobile app course she is teaching.
Not your usual online class. she responds when you ask questions, and holds weekly live chat sessions so you can actually work with her. Also supr willing to work with you if you are struggling like I was.
Funny and smart. Made it worth taking this course on campus. She's cool, a gamer and a programmer. Easy to talk to and cares what you think.
This teacher is obviously new to teaching. She cares about her students, but I don't think she's cut out to be a teacher. I felt more confused when I went to class and heard her lecture than if I read the material on my own. She often seems to get nervous and talk about things that don't quite make sense and/or are not productive for the class.
This teacher is pretty new to teaching and seems to get overwhelmed easily. She barely gives feedback, her office hours are skimpy and don't expect regular updates on the announcement page. She has a very busy family life, which is fine, but don't expect your assignments to be graded in a timely manner...
This course was tough as I am new to programin. I had a hard time getting started but she stuck with me and I eventually got to where I could make a web page that doesnt suck.
I had never done Java before this class. It is a lot easier than C++ and I got a chance to actually program a GUI. Very responsive professor.
I had this professor in two classes this semester and one class last semester. Yeah she is new, but she has a lot of energy and she certainly doesn't skimp on office hours like one person said. Not only that, she holds live chat office hours in the evening so if you can't talk to her because of your classes you can still get help when you need it
I never expect much from an online class. I was surprised. She's clearly a programmer and a pretty good teacher. She was always willing to explain things, and easy to get hold of
Ms Kaufmann is an excellent professor. I loved taking all four of her classes. She very understanding and you can get in contact with her easy. She responds to Canvas emails quick. Just make sure you turn in all your homework and you will pass.
She's receptive and responds promptly to questions/issues. She's fun and great to learn from. Clearly loves programming and knows what she is doing. Take her for any programming course you can.
Makes the class fun. She is very helpful in you learning the material. she will explain the material to you in different ways. She tries to make sure that you understand it. I would pick her again as an instructor. She cares about her student success.
Course needs a few tweaks but the teacher knows her Java. She responds promptly which is a big thing when the class is online. She does live chat sessions too, so you don't have to drag to the school for help.
This instructor is pretty cool. Her teaching style is fun. I can't wait to take her in summer!
Great teacher! If given the chance to take any of her classes do yourself a favor and pick her.
Real Programmer. She wrote a program and added to it each week to show us the stuff she was talking about in a real program. By the end of the class the program was some kind of a game with a wizard fighting a bunch of stuff. Your answers determined the outcome.
Great teacher, she doesn't leave you to learn from the book and teach yourself like some of them do.
Helpful and understanding. Makes things easier for the students. Easy to talk to.
Former programmer so she's very knowledgable. Very laid back, easy to talk to. She answers questions quickly, very helpful. I would most certainly take again.
She's very interested in her students. No "here's the book, do this assignment." She gives you written examples, lectures, tell you which practices will help with what skills. We are half way through and I am already looking to see what else she teaches.
An amazing Web Authoring teacher. Her lectures and presentations are full of great information and super helpful. She's a fair grader who will review and assignment with you if you feel there's a mistake. Very clear about what you need to do for each assignment. Pay attention and read her instructions and the feedback she gives, you'll do fine.
If you have to take a professor online - this is the one to take. At first you will think there's a alot of work but most of it is broken down in to smaller chunks you can read or study on your lunch hour. She offers Live Chats and even has some open lab sessions you can come to if you need help. Just as involved online as she was on ground.
It's an online class so I wasn't expecting much. Usually the teacher tosses some instructions up and tell you to do a bunch of assignments from the book. Not in this calls - she's got code snips, little tutorial type exercises, and even live chat sessions. She always answers questions quickly.
I had Prof Kaufmann for the first web development class but it was on campus. I thought I knew what to expect but she one upped her already good work. She wrote up lectures, examples, and spent a lot of time answering discussions. She held live chat sessions and even reserved a lab every two weeks for those who needed help.
For an online course, she was the most available and accessible professor I've ever had. If you need help, she walk you through the part you are not understanding. Your grade must be earned, she's no pushover, but she will go out of her way to help you completely understand the concepts and even answer questions about other courses.
Lots of work: Be sure to do the Exercises and Projects to get an A. GREAT teacher, awesome personality, very responsive.
I had Dr. Kaufmann for several classes now both on campus and online. She is a great professor, who is very fun to be around, inviting, and helpful. In this class the material is interesting and easy... except toward the end. Take her for every class you can!!
Professor K is clear, interesting, enthusiastic, funny, and brilliant. Had her on campus last semester & hope to have her for several classes next semester. Exercises and Practices in this class are easy and quick, but the projects which fall about every other week do take a lot of time to code so don't slack and you'll do well.
Not perfect but she is absolutely awesome! Take as many classes with this woman as possible. She is the real deal. Also her office is wicked cool.
Her lectures are very clear and organized. Definitely go to her office hours when you need help. She's really nice, helpful, tells funny stories, and cares about his students. The work is reasonable, but bigger projects take some time to do.
Very responsive and genuinely committed to her students. TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!!!
Had her for 3 classes on campus last semester. This was the first time online. This woman is positively brilliant, my favorite professor at SFC.
Very clear in her lectures and they are well presented. She encourages coming to office hours and is very helpful and responsive when you have a question.
I'm in networking, but this is a required class. Dr. Kaufmann gave us projects with topics we chose so it was more interesting. As for the prof's helpfulness - I'm not sure where they found her but they need more of her. VERY RESPONSIVE and very clear on what she expects. I skipped a few assignments and got lost but she helped me get on track
I enjoyed her class. She is a nice teacher and will help you, if you go to her. Do not turn in anything late it will not be graded. Quick response with email. Great explanation of subjects and questions. But seriously DO NOT TURN IN ANYTHING LATE YOU WILL FAIL!
This was a great class and that is all thanks to the professor, highly recommended!
Great class funny and down to earth. Really knows how to connect students with the material. Made a lot of good examples, and excellent review material. This is a good class if you want to learn and do well. Don't be lazy.
Full of positive energy and intelligence. My favorite professor of at Santa Fe.
This is a good class, She broke things down to make them easy to understand. Fun projects!
It is not a very exciting class, I have this professor for COP2671 as well and that was way more fun. I think that is just the material though. She writes up better explaination for some of the things the books didn;t go in to well. Also, she's very fair.
How many professors answer an email within hours of you sending it? She says 24 hours but most of the time it's like 2-5 hours. She doesn't take late work so don't slack. Start early and ask questions. VERY RESPONSIVE!
Expect all assignments to be graded weeks after their due, and lucky for you they build on each other. Responses to emails are either condescending and unhelpful or nonexistent. Extremely unorganized and hard to follow. Project expectations can be up to 5 pages long with vague and abstract guidelines. Google is your best friend for this prof.
She really cares about you learning, does not just give you a grade. she was really helpful and gave numerous examples of how to do things beyond what the book gave us. She also explained why what we were doing in this class was important and useful.
she makes sure that you are understanding. I really wish i could take her again for all my classes. Grades were a little slow this semester but we did have two hurriacanes. She extends assignment if there are weather issues or stuff like that.
Ms Kaufman is the best teacher I have ever seen. She is knowledgeable. She is very kind and patient with her students and funny too. She is a fair grader. She even gives some extra credit.
She uses mobile app game development in Unity to help you learn C# scripting. This is a really fun class and she will meet with you one campus if you want her to even when she's not suppose to be there she will come in for you - this class is fun!!!!!
This chick is a real programmer. i didn't expect much but she answered my question well and thoroughly. Knows her stuff. Guess it makes sense she came from a real progamming job.
She has a strong personality. Very straightforward and honest. She knows how to manage the class. Not recommended for lazy people. She gives in class practice so you are coding regularly - it really helps when it's project time.
Smart lady. Tough cookie. I mean it in the best way possible. She's commited to making you a good programmer. Her class was challenging but she is always right there to guide you.
Great communicator, very clear about what is expected and when it is due. No guessing. The course was very good prep for the Sec+ exam and a good refresher for an IT pro currently employed. DO NOT be late with assignments!
Her advanced security course is a ton of fun! You will get to learn to use common tools used by the industry, so you get a peak at tools you will use in your career. Lots of critical thinking which really prepares you for the future. She gives great feedback so you will always know how to improve!
Great teacher, had great feedback on work and was easy to contact outside of class for whatever was needed. Helped work through any problems I had designing my website.
Love this prof. We work in Virtual Box in Linux which sounds a lot harder than it really is, especially with her explainations. She is quick to respond and really cares about helping you get the material.
very down to earth. Cool and willing to help you. Not the usual "here's your book, here's your assignment" crap that you get from most profs. Don't be late though, she expects you to turn things in on time.
I have taken 7 courses with this professor so far. Unfortunately she seems to be the primary instructor for the BAS programming path. Classes unorganized, grading takes weeks (currently 5 projects in with 1 graded), no lectures - just read book and make project. YouTube lectures will be your friend. E-mails looking for help take days to respond to.
TAKE HER! Don't even think twice. Weekly assignments and projects that build to the final so you are scrambling the last two weeks of class, and LOTS of extra material to help you! She genuinely cares for students, lectures are written out so you can take a break and come back. Favorite Teacher!
We had Irma come through and lost a lot of time due to power outages and flooding. Mrs Kaufmann was patient with everyone. she gave all her classes solid extensions and included a list of resources for Irma related stuff. She answers her emails fast. Love this prof.
I love this prof. her style is project based so you get a lot of hands on coding experience. The hurricane that hit this semester made it hard the first few weeks but overall the class is solid. Grades were a bit slower this semester but given she gave us all extensions it makes sense. Would take again
This teacher was painfully terrible. A lot of the concepts she's teaching are not necessarily difficult to grasp in Java but she doesn't teach very well. Also the majority of her class had a huge problem understanding her instructions/specifications for her projects. The instructions were very unclear and caused a LOT of students to fall behind.
