Best Math teacher. Clear, fair and honest. Just show up to class and do the H.W. (which you'd have to do in any 131 class).

Very good teacher. Gives you every chance to do well. He spot checks HW's so make sure to do them!!! he gives you 5 pts per HW he checks (usually 2 per test). Also drops lowest grade. Tests are mostly Q's out of txt book.

He taught at Queensborough. The College I attend at moment and couldn't find him on the list there. Anyhow, he is the best Math Professor I had. He's so helpful and goes out of his way to help. Loves to see his students do well and suceed. Recommended.

He is the best math professor i have ever known. He answers any questions that u have in class. He gave a very detailed review sheet that describes, section by section, what is coming on the test. He makes math fun and very interesting. I recommend him overwhelmingly for any potential math student.

This guy lives up to his reputation big time. His years of experince teaching shows with his patience and understanding of where the student is coming from. Prepares you well for the tests and takes into classwork, attendence, homework, etc into consideration. Take him over ANYONE else!!!!!

You will definately have a full understanding of math when you leave his class. He comes in early to help out and stays after class as well. He works with you until he feels you understand. I wish all the professors were like him

He teaches well, but the problem is the final exam (at least in my case). I was doing well on his exams, got 100 on one of them, and then 1/3 of that on the final, which made my grade go way down low. The final is departmental, not his, so no matter what prof you take you'll get the same super-hard final. He even gave 4 hr review for it.

i can't believe all these bad comments about him!he's the best math professor in qc. he Doesn't yell, he's very nice, and most importantly he explains everything very very good and answers every qs u might have. the hw isn't mandatory, it's only 4 ur own benefit, he chks if u have it sometimes, if you do you get xtra credit on the exam ( 10-15 pts)

I've had to take 4 pre-calculus and calculus classes before Prof. Bernstein and he is by far the best! It also helped that I took calculus classes before MATH 131 because it's a hard class. He explains everything very very clearly though, so if you can't follow his lecture, you should do all the HWs. 3 exams all based on his reviews.

3 test and a cumulative departmental final. He assigns homework every day and if you bring them in you get 5 pts E.C. on the upcoming test for each H.W. done with a total of 15 pts per test. Not that it matters because if you do all of the homeworks, you'll go well on his tests anyway.

He is the most greatest math prof...!!!M131 could be hard subject for me, but he made M131 was not that tough anymore..but you should do your H.W and attendance.

A really difficult class overall, even if you have a strong math background. Hes a little impatient, but if you show up, participate, and do the homework it helps.

prob one of the best calc professors in QC.. allows students to get up to 15 points extra credit on exams jus by doing the hw. he is extremely nice & really does care about his students. when teaching he doesnt jus show you how to solve it but he also shows you how & why these problems are wat they are & wat they mean. disregard negative comments.

He is a really good professor. A little fast, but if you ask him to repeat himself he will. There are 3 exams, the lowest is dropped and then a final. he gives extra credit if you do the homework. Make sure you do the homework, and you will definitely know the material.

Hands down the best prof at qc...took him for calc and got an easy A...well that's cause I showed up and did the hw..you put the effort in and you will get the A.

Amazing professor! Very helpful and cares for his students. Get the textbook; he uses it everyday. Do the homework because he does check it and he gives you 5 points toward your test grade for each hw. The class is not easy; afterall it is calculus. But pay attention, be on time, study, do your homework and your good.

Prof. Bernstein is kind, caring and generous with his grading! Calculus is hard and this was my second time around taking this class, I should of took him the first time!!! He is a great teacher and he loves to see his students learn and will help you because he cares. His reviews are great for the tests and do the homework for extra credit!!

The best professor to take for Calculus. If you like things to be explained step by step so you get the essence of it, he is totally the one to take. He checks homeworks once a week and you get extra credit for that. Totally recommended

If you put in the effort and do your homework, you will pass and do well. He lets you earn up to 15-20 points on each test just for doing the homework. Lowest test grade dropped. In my opinion doing the homework is essential to passing; he also reviews it before each class. Not an easy A, it is Calculus after all.

Prof. Bernstein is an awesome teacher. Very clear with the material and gives extra credit if you do homework. Easy 15 points for your test. Funny man and just wants everyone to pass. Take his class if you want to do well in calc. Learned more in a day with him than a year with my high school teacher.

He's my favorite professor in fall 2015. He honestly just wants everyone to understand and pass. He gives out homework and checks randomly and would give you 15 extra credits if you did them. His review sheets and tests are similar so make sure you do them! His final is superb hard from his review BUT just show that you know the basics, you're good

Best teacher for calc. Tests are the reviews with different numbers basically. Always there to help. Alittle stubborn but it's just his personality, he means well. Wants students to do well. Gives up to 15 points per test for HW. A must have teacher for this class.

One of the best cal prof. in qc. 3 exams, and a final. Exams are straight forward from the problems done in class so make sure to never skip class. Also, randomly checks HW in class, 3x15 toward each of the 3 exams. He also provides review sheet. If you go to class everyday, do the HW and the review sheet, its a piece of case to get an A.

Best calc professor! He always review before a test! Just study the review and for sure you will pass the test. Also do your homeworks he randomly checks it and you'll get extra credit for the test. Loved this class! I skipped the pre-calculus, so I worked my butt off to pass this class (even though I'm good at Math). The extra credit earned from doing homework helps a lot. He's corny but funny.

I took his class last semester, and I would love to take his other class. He is super nice and care students who work hard. Also willing to help student after class. Gave out a review for each exam, and exam is exactly like the review. Highly recommend him

AMAZING PROFESSOR! He gives 3 tests and awards up to 15 points extra per test just for doing all your homeworks (which are optional) AND grades leniently. Asking questions constantly in class boosts you participation grade up by a lot and he has a HILARIOUS personality. Don't think just TAKE HIM YOU WON'T REGRET IT. Best option for MATH 131.

Good guy. Tries his best to teach. Course consists of 3 tests and a dept final. drops lowest grade from 3 tests. He gives hw which counts as extra credit. However, I felt his reviews alone dont adequately prepare for his tests, and he also isnt easy to reach outside of class. Do the hw, study past dept finals and go to math lab to get good grade

Honestly, He's one of the best professor's I've had this semester. SUre he is love with math and ends up solving most of the questions on the board by himself but he is amazing! The profesor is good at explaining. If you have a question he will go over the problem until you get it and if its a question you can answer yourself he will make you think about until you realize you could have answered your own question. He gives extra credit. Drops the lowest grade. What else can you ask for?.... great professor.

I took Professor Bernstein in the summer for calculus. He was amazing and went all out to make sure each student understood the work. Class was fully online due to covid and Professor made it as easy as possible. Show up, do home works, tests are based on homework and review. Professor was also available every day for 30 minutes after class.

Hw is extra credit for exams. there is Hw for every lecture but he collects 3-4 randomly. 5 pts each for the exam. Do HW if you want extra points on test for DO NOT CHEAT/ SHARE answers during exams. Take my boy Melvin, I sucked at math but paid attention to how he did the problems and just replicated them and practiced not even much and ended with getting a A in the class. Not to mention all the extra credit you get. TAKE HIM!!

You guyS. Take him. He's amazing. Really REALLY EASY TO PASS. But basically, you do 3 homeworks before each test and if you submit, you can get up to 15 extra points on that specific test. This applies for midterms & finals. I took the class online, but we had to go to on campus for all exams. Cares about work over answers so beware and show work.

The greatest math teacher of all time. He made math fun and understanding for students. He is a really nice professor and I definitely recommend taking him. Just do your homework assignments and take good notes
