I stopped going to the lectures, he posts everything online. All he ever did was read from the power points. Only about 50 people out of over 300 ever showed up to his lectures. He was pretty mush useless if you had a question. Exams were short but hard.

Decent teacher. However, his tests are INCREDIBLY difficult if you have not taken AP Chemistry in high school, as this is the honors section, and in my class, all but 3 people (myself included) did not AP Chem. This gives those people a massive head start on you, which is really difficult to get back. He doesn't have much of a curve either.

The slides look complicated. Just go over the practice exams. The real exams are almost the same. Hws (~4 total) are from textbook. I never bought the textbook. Usually someone posts a photocopy in the faceobok group. There is a paper due at the end (easy). Class is curved. This review is for chem majors who will be taking this class :)

Funny guy but he basically reads of the slides. Some of his powerpoints are helpful, others weren't. He likes to talk about what is going in the world right now. we had 2 tests, 1 final and a research paper. the 1st test is really easy compared to the other two. He gives us a practice tests which are very helpful

Not really a very useful professor. He means well, but reads information straight from the powerpoints he makes, which arent very helpful. Study practice exams and watch youtube videos and you will be fine. An A is attainable.

Churchill is a decent professor who knows quite a bit about chemistry but lacks in delivering the information. I have fallen asleep in his class multiple times but still managed an A by STUDYING and using the practice tests. There is a substantial curve for the class (around an 80% of total points equated to an A)

churchill is one of the better professors. he teaches from powerpoint, but to understand, attend class. textbook isnt needed, just his notes. grading is good. he is happy to give an a on an exam with a smile. hes funny too with his stories. he was teacher in 102 and 321 for me. churchill was better than most at UB, as one will find out.

He just reads off slides. If you took AP chem in high school, you should be find with not attending the lectures. The multiple choice part of the exam is extremely tricky and counts a lot.

Dr. Churchill is a very intelligent guy. He just reads off the slides and occasionally cracks bad jokes during lectures. Exams are heavily weighted on multiple choice, but they really aren't horrible. There is a research paper at the end of the semester, but it's a breeze, too.

Lectures are very informative and go over the material very well. The lectures can get a big long at times, but Dr. Churchil tries to keep it interesting with stories or jokes. There are only two tests and a final so studying lecture slides or the text book is necessary to do well. Homework is done on mastering chem and labs are ever week.

Dr. Churchill tends to read off slides but it is recommended to attend the lectures to know what to expect on the exams. There are 2 midterms, a final, and a research paper. Homework is given on masteringchem every week. The class is curved so you can expect to get a good grade even though the exams are difficult.

Assigns lots of mastering chemistry. Problem is his lecture slides don't reflect most of the math involved in doing those problems so yahoo answers is your new bff. Doesn't read right off the slides like a lot of people say. Explains concepts in entertaining ways... but you won't learn the math side of chem from him.

He can be pretty funny, but I found that he didn't explain things well, especially math. He just reads the math examples off the slides, which is fine for some people but I did not like it. He can also be a tough grader, like no partial credit on short response answers. Overall, not bad, but could be better.

Dr. Churchill is very intelligent and pretty funny if you pay attention. It is invaluable to keep up with the material by reading outside of class, as he reviews slides in class at a fast pace. Can cram, but avoid. 4 hw's, 3 tests no final, 1 easy final paper. Good class. Slides present material clearly and I still use them to refresh my memory.

It isn't the most exciting class, but Dr. Churchill's a great prof! He has a great sense of humor and says cool and funny things during lectures. He's a cool guy to talk to and get to know. Pay attention to the small things in powerpoints though, because he loves asking short answer questions on a specific slide you wouldn't really expect.

Professor Churchill is really good as long as you attend lectures and pay attention! A background in AP chem is really helpful, since some of the material is hard, and he doesn't cover all topics very in depth. However his exams are usually pretty similar to the practice exams and powerpoint. Doing problems from the textbook is really helpful too.

The good: hes funny and youll get more out of this class than you would out of 101 or 107. The bad: its significantly more work. Double the labs and he assigned a 10-page paper for the end of the semester. Hes a good guy and Id take this class again, but I dont know how much of a positive impact he had by himself.
