Horrible teacher..doesn't listen to the students..it's imposible to get an A on the essay..u always have to be in class on time..

Worst prof so far @ NOVA. Unclear about assignment requirements then grades you badly for "missing the mark." No explanation for missed points. Plays favorites. Doesn't respond to emails. I asked "Is there xtra credit we can do?" She said, "I don't give EC because that means more work for ME." I was speechless. NOT an "easy" A.

Not a very good professor at all. She's not clear and is no help at all. she picks her favorites in the class. if she does not like you,then you're most likely to fail. Very Evil!

Mr. Sillah is probably the worst teacher I have ever had. this teacher is from West Africa teaching english!?! my writing is totally amercanized, so it is very difficult for her understand. she has the vocabulary of a high schooler and very little respect for students. this teacher is definitly a no go.

It was one of the stupidest classes I ever took...I got an A, but I don't know why. I didnt learn anything. We did a bunch of essays and the more stupid and rushed my essay was the better grade I got! I guess she only understand when ur talking in her level of understanding.

I took her ENG 111 course during the summer of 2008. I withdrew right after the midterm because she required many essays including a midterm essay and a final exam essay. I was so glad I got out before it was too late. Professor Sillah was also very unclear on her instructions, would not dare to take her course ever again.

I don't know how this instructor got a job teaching. She doesn't even know what she's talking about most of the time. She's confusing and rude to her students. When clas is complete, you haven't learned anything more than when you started.

I always expect an A in English class - not in hers. Crazy, rude, unintelligible are key words to describe her. I feel like a cliche but she really is incompetent. The course changes as the wind blows and which side of the bed she wakes up on, don't cross her in the least bit because she will talk poorly about you behind your back.

She is disorginized, will not give reasons for why she marked certain things down on papers, she doesnt know how to use the computer. she uses stupid video clips from youtube that are totally random then will play is 5 more times. she is incompetent and rude. she is unkempt. if you get her switch out because she is awful!

Very unorganized, alot of sitting there wasting time in class doing nothing. Can barely speak english(terrible accent). Alot of work during the end of the year with no warning that we were going to do it. Do not take at all.Barely used textbook at all.The way she talks/explains things is absolutely atrocious.

I was not a big fan of this class at all. The teacher was difficult to understand, and would often flip-flop on what the assignment was. Most of the class time felt like it was wasted and unnecessary. Also her paper topics she assigned were so constricted that it left no room for creativity. I would not take her class again.

Worst teacher I've had in two years at NOVA. She is hopelessly disorganized and unclear. She wastes class time. She is verbally abusive to students in the classroom.

DO NOT HAVE HER AS YOUR PROFESSOR! I constantly had trouble understanding her. She always changed her definition of a thesis and was of minimal help. She never replies to her emails and seems to pick favorites. She does not even let you pick your own topic for papers. Class was composed of all busy work and just a waste of time.

I'm only 2 months into her class and I'm already fed up with her. Honestly, she is v. difficult to understand and she never sticks to what she has on her "schedule". You never know what's due when and she is not flexible in ANYTHING. Not a v. nice person in general. If you value your GPA, DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS.

I am not even finished with this class and I am absolutely furious. This lady picks favorites, is temperamental, and is an unfair grader. she never responds to ANY emails, which is beyond frustrating. I am SO furious with her and I do not recommend this class to ANYONE. she needs to be fired. she is NOT a good teacher. she shouldn't be one at ALL.

Alright, I'll begin with saying she has experience as a French teacher at VCU, so there's that. But man is she lazy with grading. Pushing back due dates on the due date and clumping so many assignments at the end of the year. Look for a better one here. But if this is your only option, laugh at her jokes, say jokes at random times and pray.

By far the worst professor I have had at nova. It was an online class but she didn't always respond to e-mail. She made an intro literature course, which could be interesting given the right teacher and readings torture. Combine that with the long list of assignments to do every week and I never want to read literature again. Steer clear!

Far and away the worst professor I have had at NoVa. She would rather indoctrinate than educate, and doesn't care about her students. You can do well in her class by BSing and telling her what she wants to hear, but you won't learn much from her. She doesn't do much teaching, and her assignments are super boring. ugh.

Please don't take this professor. I nearly had to file complaints about her with NOVA. First of all, she doesn't know how to even put up assignments or due dates correctly, and her "instructions" are terrible. She'll put outline and final essay due dates on the same day, and never replies to messages or emails. She's no help at all.

she gave the whole class anxiety every period. We all had F's for most of the semester because she didn't know how to figure out canvas. Then when she did "figure it out" she assigned random grades for everyone. She was often rude and graded our papers and assignments in front of us on the projector. also no late work period.

The absolute incompetence of this professor is unreal, it's like if I was in an episode of Peanuts. The teacher was not taking any questions, does not respond to any emails and refuses to admit that she's wrong in anything, this current semester everyone was failing the course. I've seen Baltimore high school teachers do better than this professor.

took online bc COVID. required to have camera ON and made EVERYONE speak- didnt understand that some people dont have working cameras/mics. assigned a lot of reading pages but sparknotes/litchart helped. unorganized, wasted time on fixing weekly class schedule DURING class- unclear on material and takes a long time to grade.

Be careful choosing her, she is not good with technology and is inconsistent with posting assignments. She doesn't respond to emails in a clear timeframe and isn't good at explaining assignments clearly. Late to her own class meetings, my class hasn't learned anything applicable and we have struggled on simple assignments.

This professor is no doubt one of the worst I've ever encountered. She REFUSES to accept accountability for anything, changes due dates and doesn't have a solid written syllabus, she doesn't teach well, and when students have issues with her she's incredibly rude and points to personal insults and even muting students if they're "causing trouble"

I've never had a more incompetent teacher than this woman. She is a horrendous educator. She does not reply to emails. Will approve an essay topic the day before the actual paper is due, forcing the student to either make a gamble and start writing before the topic is approved, or write it last minute. She does not accept any criticism whatsoever.

I'm in class currently and I was asking a question about my grade about an outline she gave me a 0, my other classmates just received comments and she said " I don't care about your grade" BUT I DO?! very rude. our classes are two days a week but she changed it to be one for some reason. dont take her if u have questions to ask. she will not respond to ur emails, questions, or concerns. She won't explain things properly and she won't help clarify if ur confused.

To begin with, this professor was chosen last minute as to rumors for the other professor having to drop the class due to scheduling. I have experienced the worst from this professor that we as a class had to get the English dep. dean involves and provides video evidence. Don't recommend this professor please save your GPA and time.

She is extremely incompetent with technology. Unclear with assignments and due dates. She is extremely stubborn and accused me of plagiarism because my writing was too high level. She forced students to install RLB for a basic assignment, then stated that "it is used in every class," and offered no resources for the issues it caused. Stay far away.

Was she hired as a joke? The class is very disorganized. She argues with students and is incredibly rude. She rarely gives feedback and is always late to her own class. She wrote a boring memoir and made us buy her book for an essay! The class is an easy A if you follow the guidelines for assignments but save your sanity and AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS.

English is my best subject, yet, this teacher has made English the most complicated subject for me this semester. Super unorganized with grading, handing out assignments, isn't thorough with instructions, and honestly doesn't seem to care about your grades. She can be nice but just as irritating as well.

Worst Professor I have ever had... She makes you buy her own autobiography that is only accessible through a very shady website. My book didn't show up until after the semester was over. She also made a typo on my final transcript and admitted it over email and it still hasn't been changed.

Professor had us buy her autobiography, told us we would be using it throughout the semester but we only ended up using it once. She also has an incredibly strict grading policy, you're allowed up to 2 late assignments, and if you miss more, you're out of luck. We also had a trans classmate she would constantly misgender. Save your money.
