You have to study to pass. Gives lots of outside class work to do and quiz every week. Very work intensive. You cannot slack! The tests are pretty hard and class averages were usually low, but she does give extra credit. Recommended that if you are going into the med field, then she is a good stepping stone.

So she is pretty good lectures are extremely long so be prepared. You have to work for your grade this is college after all. But up side is she gives extra credit for every test and drops lowest test grade and quiz. She is willing to help u whenever you need it and will repeat any info that u didn't understand. Great professor who remembers what it's like to be a student. She emails her powerpoint presentations to you before class so you can review. The course is challenging with a heavy workload but if you put in the effort, it is worth it. She is very approachable and gives plenty of opportunity for extra credit. She is always availiable when you need her and offers extra credit alot to help bring up your grades she actually cares about her students and wants them to do well!

Wonderful professor. Study guides were very reflective of test questions. Essay questions on the test make sure you really know your stuff. Hard class but if you go to class and take good notes you will make an A. Lab tests were easy no reason not to make an A. Very nice lady and always there to help. Take her if you can!!!!

Great teacher, not only because she is clear on her expectations, but because she encourages students to use critical thinking. Lecture exams include an essay portion that require students to truly grasps processes of physiology. She is a very positive person and that helps tremendously since this class can be difficult at times :)

Let me just say A&P2 is NOT an easy class no matter your professor. Professor Alba is an awesome teacher. I had a huge struggle in the very beginning of this course and thought I would fail then to withdraw because of Financial aid. She is kind and patient, and makes class interesting. But you do have to study! You will not be disappointed.

Mercedes is the Best Professor in Biology i have ever had. she knows what she teaches and works hard making you understand in every easy way she can, but also expects from you to do the same. if you focus what she tells in the class, her PP , charts and Oral notes you will be fine. she is EXCELLENT and do recommend anyone wants learn A&P.

Mrs. Alba is very specific on what she requires. You will know your stuff. Homework quizzes are timed to help retain the info. Provides checklists for all chapters that are need to know. Start early on them. All tests come from those checklists. Memorize. She lets you record her lectures which is very helpful to have since its slide lecture based.

The updates on the plan of the day was helpful. The instruction and lectures were easy to follow, the labs were interesting and helped me understand what I was reading and learning during lecture, since I'm a hands-on learner. The materials such as the handouts and access to the notes and power points provided by Professor Alba were very helpful.

She drops a lab, test, and quiz. Was so close to an A (89). Beware of the bones chapter. Hardest one for me along with some of the muscle physiology. But she's a really good teacher. I learned about 3 chs in that having the powerpoints printed and taking notes there was best for me. Record too! Your hand will probably not write fast enough!

So I took Alba for both A&P 1 as well as 2 and she is amazing (got an A in both). She gives great lectures that you should definitely record. She'll tell you what's on the test (she also drops one) as well as give you a study guide for each of them, extra credit can also be obtained. There's also a quiz for each chapter. I took her for Summer a 5 week course. Amazing professor her lectures are on point. LOTS of extra credit. Did a case study presentation very easy to get a 100%. She was just a great professor. Be prepared to know the 3 or 4 topics you will have to know inside and out for the exam as it will have an essay portions that increases in percentage of the exam grade as you go. I wish I could take her other courses!

I took professor Alba for A&P1 and 2 and she is one of the best professors I have had. Shes hilarious in her lectures which helps to understand the difficult material. The only grades are from exams (lecture and lab), quizzes, and one case study presentation. Highly recommend her.

She is an amazing teacher in class, very detailed in her note taking/outlines/lab exam outlines BUT during COVID 2020 she thought everyone was cheating and made the lab and lecture exams even harder than they previously were. They were still a bit hard before this but now over half our grade on lecture is ESSAY questions. I would retake if inclass.

She did have lots of extra credit opportunities so I would make sure to get to class on time for her pop quizzes and review the material as much as I could. I took Professor Alba for Human Anatomy 2 and she was amazing. She was very well organized; her lectures were very clear, and hit all the important points. I usually read the textbook a lot, but in this class her lecture outline she provides were so useful to use that I used those as my main study tool. 5 exams, 1 group project, and quizzes often.

Professor Alba is the sweetest person ever and also very funny. Her outlines made it very easy to organize and digest the material in my mind. If you memorize the outlines, you will do well. Multiple chances for extra credit. I also appreciated her pop quizzes because they forced me to study as we went instead of procrastinating.

An A is achievable, if you pay attention. Gives out very little assignments, maybe lab sheets & chp quiz for each chp & that's all. Her chp outlines are the BEST. They provide all you need for her lecture & lab exams. No class on exam days. She is a great, thoughtful teacher, and makes A&P really fun & not so stressing.

I loved Professor Alba for A&P II! She gives outlines that help you study for the exams (literally, just do the outlines and you'll pass). She's so caring and very understanding. The assignments are quite easy; however, do not make the mistake of underestimating the amount of time it will take to complete certain sections of the ePortfolio. Professor Alba was wonderful! Course work wasn't easy, A&P 2 in five weeks. She makes it clear what to study, has lectures that are compact and easy to follow even if you struggle with ADHD. She gives outlines to fill in, fill these out or you will not do well on test. They are super important! I just wish I could take her class all over again!

I just finished taking a FOUR week summer class and I was super nervous but Professor Alba made it so easy for me! She is very organized, she gives you all the information you need to pass the exams. She is very generous with extra credit. I could only imagine how great she is in a regular 16 week class.

I LOVE PROFESSOR ALBA!!!!! She is super nice and super caring. She is like a mom. If you need to take A & P, take her!!!! She does a hybrid class, so the lectures are online videos that she provides, and the labs are in person. You get the outline for each chapter, so it makes it easy to take notes. again, I LOVE HER!!! period.

Take Prof Alba, she really cares about her students and if you put in the work you will pass her class with flying colors. She gives plenty of extra credit, she makes it clear what she will be testing you on so as long as you dont wait until last min to study you will do great. She basically gives you the notes and doesnt use txt book!

Prof Alba is the best! She is so organized. Makes it super clear what will be on the tests, and as long as you turn in the HW on time you can resubmit for a higher grade. Lots of EC for tests. If you study you can absolutely get an A in this class! Watch the videos, do the outlines, and study! Absolutely take Prof Alba if you can!!

For those following a nursing path, know that any BIOL class will be intense. Professor Alba's syllabus is highly organized. All lecture videos are prerecorded, and she gives you an outline to print and follow. There are 4 lecture exams, plus a final exam that could replace your lowest regular exam. ASK QUESTIONS! Take notes and don't fall behind.

I ended up slacking off in this class because I decided to change my major near the end of the course. I have to say Professor Alba is awesome and smart. You will definitely need to work hard in this class but it will also be fascinating. Stay on top of your outlines and study!

Professor Alba is amazing! You have to put in the work for this class,but if you follow along with her lecture and study you'll do well. She want's her students to succeed, there's bonus and extra point options in her class so take advantage. Her outlines for the chapters help you study, and are so helpful when it comes to studying, DO THEM!

Prof. Alba is awesome! She really cares about her students and desires them to succeed. She really makes an effort to "dumb" things down as much as possible while giving all the info students need to pass the class and use in the future. I will be taking her again for AP2. If you are scared for AP, take it with Alba. Cannot say enough good things!!

Prof Alba (Mother Hen) is on my list as one of the most amazing professors I have came across at SAC. Work hard, do your outlines and canvas quizzes and you will be good to go for the tests. Your labs will help with bonus questions on the exams. She makes it easy for you to get an A. You just have to do the work!

course was a little hard however she gives you the necessary materials to pass makes her lectures very clear and assignments aid you in understanding if you put in the work you should pass i would recommend she is very nice

Prof. Alba is one of the best A&P teachers. The difficulty is a 3 because of the course, but she gives you all the tools you need to be successful. She provides ample opportunities for extra credit and the highest grade possible. I took it as a summer class which made it a little more challenging, but she guided me through it along w/ studying alot

Prof. Alba was by far my favorite instructor during my 3 years at SAC! She clearly cares about her students and wants them to succeed. Her exams are based DIRECTLY off of her outlines (which she provides) and she has recorded lectures where she literally fills out the outlines as she explains the material. She offers plenty of extra credit as well!

Great professor that has a great teaching method for different types of learners. If you take her hybrid class, take as many notes as you can and go to tutoring if you have extra questions as her in person class is mainly to review and for labs/case studies.

This is a tough class, but anatomy is! She provides outlines for all tests and quizzes and if you study hard, you will make a good grade. I do not suggest taking another science class with this one. Mrs. Alba is so sweet and really cares about her students, she allows you to redo some things for a better grade. Drops 1 quiz and test.

Prof Alba is a demanding but fair instructor. Attend class, use her detailed outlines, and take advantage of bonus opportunities. Unstuckstudy can also be a helpful study tool alongside the textbook. It's a tough course, but manageable with diligence.

Professor Alba is by far the best professor I've ever taken. I took her for A&P 1 and 2, and I wish she taught more classes. The course is heavy but manageable. She organizes everything very clearly and you will always know what to expect. I spent more time studying for this class than any others, but it is well worth it. I learned tons!

She's super kind and fair with grading. she's extremely organized, which really helps everything run smoothly. She even offers extra credit opportunities and encourages us to push ourselves by requiring tutoring sessions—but honestly, you can tell she just wants us to succeed. I'd highly recommend taking any biology class with her!

Professor alba is very caring, and understanding!! homeworks are easy its uploading what you did in lab! her lectures are heavy, a lot of studying be prepared!!! but what you study is literally on the exam! her exams are exactly what you study so shes fair!!

Professor Alba is such a great educator. She challenges you in the best ways in order to get the most out of the content provided. She was a great help this semester.

Professor Alba is one the best teachers I've had! She cares for her students & gives clear guidance and outlines for test! Although it's an online course as long as you study you will do good .

Professor Alba is a kind, generous, and honest person. She is extremely fair and knowledgeable about all thing's anatomy. There are 5 exams and 1 final exam. The lab and lecture portions of the course are consistent and are on the same exam. She will specifically outline what you will be tested on and even give in class quizzes to spot check you.

As someone with a cultural Spanish name, it warmed my heart when she pronounced right the first time and she's really helpful. she'll bring a nursing student to help tutor people and she has a great sense of humor overall would recommend her 10/10

She's very knowledgeable about what she teaches and doesn't just read slides or a textbook to you. She gives tips on how to memorize the content you're learning, and makes the learning experience fun. You don't get points deducted for missing class, but attendance is "mandatory" because this is one of the harder courses someone can take.

Professor Alba is amazing! I took her for Anatomy 1 and 2. Anatomy 2 was in a five week summer course and I passed with an A. She always did her best at explaining complex concepts and tutoring helped alot. Her labs were so easy! The course had 4 exams and a final. Each exam was worth 3 chapters of outlines and lab images which she provides.

Professor Alba is an amazing instructor who truly cares about her students' success. She's supportive, patient, and explains the material in a way that's easy to understand. Her passion for teaching really shows, I'm grateful to have taken her class!

Prof Alba is one of the best teachers! She is super caring and incredibly smart. She gives plenty of opportunities to make you pass. Her A&P courses are Flex so just be aware you have to put the time in, however the outlines she gives you are super helpful.

Hands down the best professor I have ever had. She has clear expectations, and you will earn your grade. Ask questions and go to office hours!!!! 10/10 highly recommend this course to anyone looking into taking it.
