Just Awesome.
One of the BEST educators I've ever been taught by. Meridith rocks and would throw herself under a bus for any student who tries. I would not be wrapping up my algebra requirements if it weren't for her. She KNOWS what she's doing and she will push you out of your comfort zone! Take her class.
VERY helpful, and Fair
Meredith is a great teacher and an amazing person. She's very personable and funny and very sweet. She's will to do whatever it takes to make sure her student understand what they are doing. I loved her class and her. You should deffinitly take her class it's well worth it!!!
The BEST math teacher I have ever had! Just AWESOME! She will make sure that everyone understands what is going on. You will not be left behind.
Did everything she could to help us. Would even hold study session on her own time outside of class before test to answer any question one on one. Only reason I didnt pass her class was of my own doing. I would highly recommend her.
She is the best teacher I have ever had. I hated math tell I had Mrs. Davis, now I love it. She is very helpful and teaches in a way everyone learns.
Very good teacher. I wasn't interested in math until I had her class. She also answers any questions you have and holds extra study sessions outside the class.
She is the best math teacher I've ever had. You can only fail this class on your own accord. She does everything she possibly can to help you. You will have absolutely no excuses for failing except yourself.
Ms. Davis is a great teacher she is there to help us (students learn and understand math. She does hold extra study sessions which helps a lot. GREAT TEACHER!!
Mrs. Davis is VERY helpful and sweet. She truly cares about her students and will strive to help you achieve your goals. She will help you in any way possible. Sign up for out of class study sessions; she tries to schedule as many as she can before tests and final exam. STUDY and attend class; you will be fine.
I'll be honest...I did't like her for college algebra. Half the class felt the same way.
In my entire life, I've never had a nicer teacher. I recommend Mrs. Davis to anyone who has math anxiety. She is awesome. I took her class from beginning algebra all the way to college algebra. I'll miss her. Mandatory attendance! If you learn the departmental review, you'll pass. She has great tips and tricks for learning the formulas. :) :)
great teacher would recommend to any student who is or has struggled with math. hope to have her for calc.
Mrs. D. is the greatest. She really wants her students to succeed and the more you try the more she helps you. I recommend taking her for College Algebra.
She was a great teacher. I have taken several other teachers and I have to say she was the best teacher I have ever had for math. I got a High A in the class. If you do the homework and do the departmental review you will do fine. She is willing to help you every step of the way. I would recommend her to anyone. Great Teacher..A++
Mrs. Davis, what can I say she is an AMAZING MATH TEACHER!! she is VERY helpful!! she really wants her students to strive in math. I would realy recommend taking her for college math, I would take her again! Take her Class You wont REgret IT!!!
She worked through things really quickly and wasnt very understanding
She is one of the best teachers I have ever had, she did a great job of helping you understand the material and making the class interesting. If you show her respect and respond to her she will throw her shoe at you! Just kidding (inside joke)
I was scared going into this class, because I hadn't taken a math class in 10 yrs.I am thankful I got her for College Algebra. She lays it out for you at the beginning of the class and you'll know what to expect. She tells you to do homwork and follow dept.review to pass and that's nothing but the truth.Thats what i did and passed with an "A".
AWESOME TEACHER! I failed algebra previously and took it again with Mrs. Davis and got a high A! She will do everything she can to help you succeed! The HW is not too much & if you follow along with the dept review you are sure to get an A on the final. I would recommend her to anyone! She actually made math fun and I didnt think that was possible!
AWESOME TEACHER!!!!! she was just amzing she made the class super easy! take her class!!!
Math was my worst nightmare and she made me comfortable and not afraid to ask questions, she is by far the best college teacher I've has thus far!!:-)
Mrs. Davis is amazing! I got D's in high school algebra but she makes it fun and gives you 2 or 3 way to solve a problem. She gives points for homework, quizes are from homework and you can use your notes. Tests are from the quizes. If you have to take math, TAKE HER! She's funny too!
Great personality, she knows the material, comes prepared to teach, very helpful and funny too! Hard to grade, but will explain expectations from the very beginning.
Best Algebra teacher!! I would recommend her to anyone.
AWESOME!!!! I am so happy I took her class. she is the best. she is very nice and fun. If you want to know who to take, take her! you will not regret it.
BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD!! I have failed algebra twice at UA and took her course. She's tough on you personally, but only wants you to succeed. She is available and as helpful as she can be with 4 kids! If Algebra is tough for you, TAKE HER!!! Just don't talk while she's talking. Or be late. :)
She is the best math teacher I have had so far. I took her last semester for intermediate algebra and passed with a B. Now I am taking her for College algebra. I would tell anybody to take her if they want someone who knows what they are doing and can teach you every way possible how to work out a problem in math. She knows her stuff.
Great Professor. REALLY cares.
Great Math teacher! she really cares about her students, and if you do not understand something she will take the time to make sure you do understand. Two thing only: Do not talk while she is talking and attend class every time. Some might not like her because she will tell you to stop talking while she is talking, but that's why we are all adults.
Took the class online summer 2012, fast track. You have to work to get through this class for sure. If you do the work and make a effort you should be fine. Teacher is crystal clear what she expects and is very helpful. Her grading is very fair and gives you credit for problems worked out, which is how it should be. Take her if you want to learn.
Awesome teacher! I would take her for every math class if I could. Tests are really hard though, 100 points possible and only 14-15 questions. Doesn't grade any homework. She's hilarious and will show you 3 different wants to work out a problem and doesn't care which way you do it, as long as it makes sense to you. Highly recommend!
She requires a lot of work. Almost 1 assignment per day average. Some days had 2 or 3. She is a great teacher if you talk to her when you have trouble. She tells you what she expects and that is what she expects. There is no curves or extra credit but this is math and there shouldnt be.
easy but be sure to show all work. otherwise she would take points off. she is a stupid sometimes.
So there is tons of homework due each week which is not even really part of your grade. You spend all week doing homework and it doesn't even help your grade. She forgets to put the show work option in on homework and then expects you to turn it in to her.. Hello thats why I took online. If you dont write out ALL your work you get 0 credit.
lots of homework assignments which don't amount to anything toward your grade. she is so scattered... sends grade reports occasionally thats the only way you know your grade. she always has mine wrong. she grades hard on tests requires to much explanation.
I took her online beginning algebra class there were several problems with the technology. Pages would close down, or not open and I would let the professor know. She would say she can do the math, not the technology. A few quizzes I could not do and some homework that would not open. She wouldn't reopen them for me so I didn't get a grade on them
Requires handwritten graphs, when there's already a graph feature on the program, overloads on homework (which barely contributes to your grade), must show ALL work on EVERY quiz (which is a complete pain having to "write" it out in the program), and must show ALL work on EVERY test AND requires weekly discussions that are superfluous. AVOID!
She's so helpful- she was proactive in making sure everyone got the help they needed, she often stayed after class, she explained exactly what we did wrong, she encouraged everyone to ask questions, etc. You can really feel how much she wants you to succeed. She also talented and has a great sense of humor.
I have always been awful at math but I had a college algebra class with Mrs. Davis that was in class and online. She is VERY helpful and a lot of fun. She takes her time with you for you to understand what's being taught. Quizzes every class period that are only a couple questions each. I would take her again if I needed to.
Mrs. Davis is hands down one of the best math professors I have ever taken. In the beginning of class she explains what she expects of you to earn a good grade in her class. She responds to emails in a timely manner. If you need her to go slower for you she will, and she will stay after class as long as she can with you. I recommend her!
I took Mrs. Davis for Beginning Algebra and she was so helpful. She was willing to FaceTime to review homework questions that I didn't understand. She gave opportunities for extra credit, and she gave points for work on her tests. While it is homework heavy being a Math class, she made it easy to follow. I would highly recommend her.
she goes above and beyond to make sure you get the help you need. She will even meet with you after class hours if needed. However, I've always been an A/B average student until I had her class.. She's a tough grader so show ALL your work!! if you work hard enough, you'll pass her class.
To be fair, I took a summer course (fast paced) that included a computer portion of classwork. That system is terrible- it's often vague about "helping" and only accepts answers in a specific format for some problems. The teacher is alright (she'd probably be better if this weren't summer). She is very particular about "showing work" on test/ quiz
She is a really good teacher. She really goes in depth when explaining something. She always makes sure all her students understand before moving on to the next topic.
Hardest math class I've ever taken. If you've signed up for it DROP OUT! Very picky grader making it hard to ever make an A on anything.
worst teacher I have had very disrespectful, basically tells us that she thinks were lazy and don't wanna do are work. would never take her or recommend her to anyone. this is a class I pay for im not aloud to use my phone or even speak to someone beside me. she makes you move each time. oh and don't were cologne she will make you leave haha!
THE ABSOLUTE WORST TEACHER I'VE HAD. She sets students up for failure and constantly puts them down. If you don't show every single bit of work on your quizzes/tests you get points off. She truly believes she's still teaching Elementary grade students. Makes you leave if you are wearing cologne/perfume and is super paranoid. YOU BETTER RUN!
She is the most difficult professor at NWACC. She doesn't email back, cancels class, and doesn't care about the students. Meredith grades so specific that even your tutor can't get the answers correct.
The most terrible teacher ever. Not only is she a bad teacher, but also a bad person. She doesn't care if you pass or not, as long as she's still getting paid. Tries to make jokes, but they're more like jokes for a 12 year old. Will give you so much homework that you don't have time to do anything but math. if you want to pass pick someone else.
I would not recommend her! She really does not care about her students, gives a lot of homework and its mandatory to do the homework because you have to get an 80% on all homework before taking the quizzes, but you receive no credit for homework. She also is a VERY hard grader. If you wear perfume she makes you leave class!
She is unhelpful and petty. Doesn't grade homework but if you don't do it you get a 0 on your quiz. Quizzes are 5 questions and if you show work but it's not up to her standard it's counted wrong. Your 100 on a quiz will turn into a failing grade. Quizzes are 180 points of your grade and 2 tests are 420 points. Terrible system, terrible teacher.
All homework online doesn't count for any credit which was annoying simply because it was SO much of it. and you MUST do all homework in order to do online tests. She is super patient just go to class and be ready! she doesn't randomly call on you either
Shes a cool lady but is the toughest grader Ive ever had. If you dont show 100% of the work in the way she wants you to you will miss the question. With the small number of questions on tests this is crippling to grades.
tough grader - dont wear perfume, she is allergic to scents. easy grader if you just do the homework she assigns. you only have to make an 80% on the homework. she goes over the questions in class. shes willing to work with you, there is a quiz every class period (3 or 4 questions) and she gives you a huge study guide to use for tests.
Currently taking her class, and I can honestly say she is probably one of the best math teachers on campus. Davis gives very good notes, and will answer your questions no matter how dumb you may feel they are. She is not flexible with deadlines, but has a reasonable explanation as to why. She is allergic to strong scents, so be wary. Sarcastic.
She is a GREAT teacher but overloads on homework and grades WAY too hard. Sets you up for failure at the beginning but if you try hard, she will recognize. Hardest math class I've ever taken.
Davis is an amazing professor to work with her funny and caring presence. Lecture notes and class time is organized to perfection. She gives excellent feedback and makes sure you understand everything. The work criteria are difficult if the due dates aren't made, good notes aren't written and absences occur. Overall it's an enjoyable class!
Would NOT take her again. Too much homework to NOT count towards your grade. Tests have too few questions and sets u up for failure. Only quizzes and tests count towards your grade. The mml box that we're REQUIRED to show our work in is difficult to use and if u don't show your work EXACTLY how she wants it, its wrong. Very tough grader.
Although she is one of the harder professors I have had, if you apply yourself and put in the needed work, her high expectations actually work in your favor. She always sends tests back and is open to any questions you may have. Yes, there is a lot of homework, but it's beneficial because doing all of this work ensures you are grasping the info.
Horrible teacher! I've had my share of bad teachers, but this one takes the Medal. Gives a lot of homework and you can't take the quiz until you complete the homework. Homework does not count towards grades only quiz's, Midterm and Final. She Lowers grades in MML. Alos be prepared to show your work on MML and paper. She'll want both.
Mrs. Davis is not a qualified teacher for Beginning Algebra. She does not have any regard if you have a job. On the first day of class, you have to do a lot and finish the next day by midnight. Oh! Tuesdays and Thursdays are your due dates for homework. She thinks you already know everything you need to know and her class is just a review.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had so far. Be aware of your first day of class to finish this in two days. Homework in Canvas, installing Reminder in your phone, doing Discussion Board, working on Mymathlab, and showing work on all quizzes and tests using MML windows plus you need to read a whole chapter. Good luck if you choose her.
This class was great. I am terrible at math and she makes us feel like we all have a chance to succeed in her class. If you miss the lecture it is always posted with a picture of the notes. She can be slow at responding to emails but this class is easy to do on your own. Would take it again.
She is a good teacher. She will teach you the lesson for zooms and just make sure to do the homework because she doesn't accept late work. But the tests in the class is the biggest part of your grade. She gives homework but they don't really benefit your grades like the tests. Do well on the tests because it could really make your grade drop.
She has been the first one here that actually showed she cared to actually teach math, especially to people who have zero intention of ever going on to a degree related to math. She is also very accessible outside of class and she has recorded lectures for each section as well.
I took her class & ended up retaking it with someone else and got an A. She is picky when grading tests and if you do bad on 1 test it hurts your grade. HW is worth pretty much nothing the review for the final is 99 questions which is too much and only worth 10 points, it took 4 hours to complete with no guidance on what was actually on the test.
Super easy to follow if you pay attention. She has the whole plan for the semester available at beginning. Keep up with mml. She is funny and tries to make boring class better.
goes over material fast, you ask her to explain or ask questions acts like she does not want to actually help. She asks for suggestions, you recommend things she shuts them down. a lot of homework but no grade for it, the tests she gives are not structured the same way that she teaches. she would not really do anything to help us get our grade up.
If you have trouble showing work, avoid this class because she grades it heavily. Regardless, she was a good teacher who responded to emails more quickly than others. She clearly cared about the class and wanted everyone to do well. I would recommend if you can do the two homework assignments each week and study for the four major tests.
By far the best professor I have had for any math class. She actually cares about you and your grade, is willing to help all the time and is just a very kind and fun person to be in class with. If you do not ask, she will not bother you, SO ASK. I am not a math person at all and it does not come naturally, but she made it fun and understandable.
Best math teacher I've ever had. I'm not a math person at all, and I went into this class remembering nothing from Algebra I and II. Within 2 weeks, I was right where I needed to be and fully caught up. She's always willing to help you understand the topics. She always requires you to show your work, just so she knows you aren't cheating.
Professor Davis will do whatever it takes to help you understand the material.
Practice exams were basically useless due to the actual exam being completely different. Very tough professor.
This teacher does not help with students understanding or grades, she acts like its our fault for "not doing the work" but she doesnt grade the work anyway and if you fail one test you wont pass the class period. She will give 0 for not showing work on common sense questions like < and > or addition and subtraction.
Tough grader but overall she's a great professor.
RUN if you get this professor... Not kidding, this will be the end for you and the reason you drop out of college...
You will spend hours completing ALEKS assignments and none of it will be on your tests/ homework checks. Lecture videos are provided but it's just watching her solve problems and says “you already know this” and moves on. The only teaching provided is through reading ALEKS explanations, you cant learn math by reading how to do it.
Why pay for a college course you will have to teach yourself?
Nice professor but did not make an impression on me. She can be very hard on grading at times. Her lectures sometimes feel brief and lots of the learning comes from looking at the explanations in ALEKS (the homework site). She not bad but not great, I wouldn't mind taking her class again but would rather a better professor.
Professor Davis was a very hard grader. You had to show your work, or it wouldn't count. Attendance was mandatory. She's nice, but very hard if you struggle with math.
She aks you to double check her often. I was given a grade 0 for a test that I took because she lost the test. She then argued that I didn't take my test and I had to provide proof. She wont respond to emails and states per her syllabus you need to send 2. Homework is barley weighted but is piled high. Do not take her class. You'll teach yourself.
I loved this professor. She was willing to explain things as many times as you needed. She was super nice.
Take the class with literally anyone else, I promise it will be better. I have no idea how a teacher who instructs this poorly can remain employed at any respectable institution.
Online class is viewed as an in person class. Takes attendance 3x a week, so you have to be working on her class during the week on specific days even tho its ONLINE. LOTS of assignments, even in a regular 12 week class. Assignments due on different days each week, random due dates. No respect for your schedule, which is why I chose online!
I completely taught myself everything from YouTube. She ONLY gives hw assignments from a website to teach, HOWEVER its just quizzing you until you get them right, not actually teaching you at all. None of us did good on the first two tests, she asked how she could help, most of us responded with offering study guides for the tests and she NEVER did
Do not take her online algebra class. Proctored tests, not allowed to use notes, and you have no idea what will be on the test because she gives a bunch of homework assignments yet no study guides and nothing to prepare you. Most of our class failed every test and failed her class yet shes still able to be a professor. Pick anyone else.
