Meri Culp is a wonderful teacher, she makes writting fun and enjoyable. Text book is required in order to complete assignments she gave 3-4 papers plenty of time to turn it in. NO additional TEST. She is the best.

Very sweet lady. Class extremely easy, although after 4 absences she will withdraw you! Didnt need the book. No class for the whole wk prior to a paper being due. Watched movies, rarely had homework, no notes! This class was a breeze!

Culp's Creative Writing class is awesome. She gives us a few guidelines and then lets us write whatever kind of poem or short story we want (as long as it's not *too* edgy or weird). Her class is fun and definitely worth taking for anyone either majoring or minoring in English (or anyone who just wants to brush up on their skills).

What I like abt. this class is Mrs. Culp makes you think;she really teaches you how to write if you pay attention. She is clear and caring, but insists you put forth your best effort. No slackers! She has rules about attendance, absolutely no cell phones, and getting to class on time. I learned so much in her class.

Take her Creative Writing class. The workload is light but it will definitely inspire you to be more thoughtful, observant and creative. I've known people who have enrolled at TCC just so they could take Culp's CRW2001 class - if you need an elective, take it!

I loved her creative writing class! She didn't have us do a lot of work, but what we did do was a lot of fun. I was inspired, and she had me stretch myself as a writer. She's very encouraging, and she's also great at critiquing without being critical. Very easy to pass - simply do the work! You'll learn a lot about writing.

I attend TCC in 04 and had Ms Culp but had to withdrawn due to medical problems returnd in 2011 and First class i signed up for was Ms Culp's She is the kind of Professor I wish I had in all my other classes Her Teaching style back then and still today is fresh, fun and very informative. I failed my first paper, but she's worked with me and on my 2nd paper I got a B--she is more than willing to conference with you and teach you the skills you don't know. I'm working hard now and appreciate all her help!

She is a great teacher and she helps you out with picking topics for your papers. I recommend taking all the classes she teaches cause that's how great of a teacher she is.

Ms. Culp was a great teacher,she let attendance slide but going to class was helpful because there were regular assignments that she would not let you make up, however they weren't worth many points. Grade basically consists of your four essays that you know of plenty of time ahead and if you need any help she is extremely helpful.

This class was interesting, insightful and engaging. I would suggest this class to everyone. Ms. Culp has a way of including everyone in class discussions, and has a very helpful approach towards everyone. I have no complaints with Ms. Culp, and I truly enjoyed her class.

She is by far one of the best professors at TCC! There were about three papers, a take home final exam and a few reading responses. Her personality is off of the wall and you never know what to expect from her. If you want to learn a lot about African-American history and have fun learning at the same time I would definitely take her class.

I would retake this class a thousand times over again! Professor Culp pushes your creative to the limits, making you think outside the box which produces better work.

She is very open. I took her for ENC1101 and has that old person "I'm funny and will say jokes even if i don't expect anyone to laugh" personality. I only used the book for one assignment, so if you're on a budget you could look up the story or share with a classmate.

Only like 4 papers throughout the entire semester and the opportunity to revise one. She's really laid back and happy-go-lucky. Go visit her during office hours or during conferences, she'll usually give you a lot of help for your papers during that private time. Definitely taking her for AML2600 even though I don't need the credit. Love her!

You only have 4 essays the whole semester, and theyre interesting prompts. You do a few in class assignments so I wouldnt recommend skipping, but she cancels class sometimes which was great. You can also have her review your papers before you turn them in and she will revise them for you so you can get a guaranteed A.
