This prof has much passion for anatomy and desires for all students to learn and acknowledge the great artistic work of the human body. This is not an easy class. Must complete all homework and study at least 2-3 hrs everyday. Lectures on a topic and recaps right after to ensure everyone understands. No student is left behind. Thank you!!! :)
Dr. M. is dedicated and patient with her students, I learned so much in her class.
Professor Mubarak is very dedicates to teaching anatomy. She likes to explain things thoroughly and detailed as possible and gets the class engaged with the anatomy models and other activities. If you put in a few hours a day to re-read her lectures then her exams are straight forward. You can't miss many days and she wants you to read ahead.
Its difficult especially if you dont fit time to study A LOT. Is very caring and wants her students to pass. Answers any Q. Offers some EC. Read text before class or else you wont get lectures, which do go by really fast. Many Online hw & prints slides and emails study guides but you have to put in youre own part. She also did some group work.
Its a very challenging class, and a lot of material to memorize . But Dr. Mubarak is very dedicated and caring and wants her students to pass. She makes you feel comfortable to ask questions . Loved taking her class I would take it with her all over again . Even with all the HW and assignments we had every week !
This is a teacher who is very caring and loving for her students. She goes out of her way to make sure that every student is in a position to pass. I highly recommend this professor if you want to take away a lot from anatomy.
She's an old fashioned professor, she truly cares about student success. She'll also have her favorite students she'll pick on to answer random questions I was one of them. She has a very strict policy as far as time and punctuality, and you must consult with her if you decide to audio record the lecture, tests aren't too bad, get ready to read.
She is very old fashion style of teaching. Just handed a lot of paper. She didnt respect student and have a pretty strict policy. I wouldnt recommand this class for you. Take a someone else.
Her lecture is basically her spewing out words from the book as fast as she can. You will need to teach yourself the material. Her grammar is not the best... making her explanations confusing on top the material being tough already. I would NOT take her again nor recommend her to people I like.
Instructor just reads off book-prepared slides for lectures. Doesnt explain the how or why which makes it extremely difficult to understand. Expects students to prepare for lectures by studying a day before understand lectures. But I thought students go to class to learn material. Apparently no. Basically have to self teach material to pass.
She has a lot of knowledge for what she is teaching. Unfortunately, she teaches her students very quickly and expects her students to know answers to new questions/concepts. In order to pass or feel better about the class you have to self-teach yourself because she speeds through her lectures. She appears to care but can be contradicting.
She is knowing a lot except how to teach students step by step. She is just going her way not taking student together. Just push students. She wants students remember everything on the book. Of course its impossible. There is no summary just you should know everything what she talk to you and answer right away. What a amazing.
What a amazing professor. As soon as the class done she is forcing students to leave right away the class. She is teaching with very old style. Heavy lecture you have to know eveything and be ready to answer right away after her fast teaching.
Great professor is you are going into nursing, med school or PT school. She is very knowledgable and does go fast in lectures, but you just have to ask questions. She genuinely wants her students to learn and do well, so don't be afraid to ask for help. The class isn't easy but it will prepare you for your future career. Great class.
Anatomy is overall a difficult subject. Try not to take more than one other class if taking this. She is a good teacher and expects a lot from her students and wants them to do well. It is a fast paced class but that's not her fault. She does tend to call on the students that don't read before class or that look lost. Pay attention and study.
Dr. Mubarak genuinely cares about her students and will do everything in her power to help them pass. She will go over topics multiple times (if asked). It is a very difficult, fast-paced class but if you put in the effort to study and do the homework you can pass. She does have an accent but you get used to it. Planning on taking her for physio
I have nothing against this professor but she made anatomy 32 feel like it should be worth way more than 4 units. Quizzes almost every day and you have to stay the whole time, lecture and lab... if there is no specific lab you still have to stay and do models. No leaving early. She does care about her students however you have to be ready to WORK.
Dr. Mubarak does a fine job ensuring we know the important parts we'll need as future STEM majors. Lectures are long, but unfortunately they have to be because she has to meet standards set by the college. She has shown time and time again that she truly cares for her students and goes above and beyond to give students chances to improve grades.
Doctor M, as she is known, truly cares about her students. I'm not sure how many professors dissect several textbooks to give the students only the most essential information but she certainly is the best when it comes to that, in my opinion. Tip: Know the anatomy, learn how it normally works, how it gets sick, and how to get it back to normal.
Dr. Mubarak provides all her effort to make the class as easy as possible. The concepts and principles of PHYSIO31 are extremely difficult to begin with, so no one can blame her for the class being too difficult. They can only appreciate her effort to help her students achieve their highest potential.
I took several anatomy classes, yet this course is the only one I passed and I got A. Dr. Mubarak explains very clearly and well. In Anatomy, materials are sometimes iffy, yet her lecture amazingly organizes them well. She gives out extra credits, and her exams/practicums are pretty much from the slides. Take 30 mins/day to review, you'll pass!!
Great professor. I Definitely will take her for physiology. Anatomy is bulky as usual but she made it easier for me. Quiz every week. Don't turn your labs in late. Come for her reviews and you should be good.
Dr. M cares a lot of her students. She might be intimidating and call out names but she just want you to learn and sail through. Anatomy will be hard if you won't keep up with her lectures. I have so much respect for Dr. M as she will do all she can to help you pass and get your desired grade. Take her & you won't regret as long as you do your part
Dr. M is truly a caring professor. She puts in effort to ensure that each student passes her class and does well, it is really a matter of how much effort you put in as a student. Quizzes every week to cover the lectures the week before, this is done so students stay on top of studying. Left such a great impression I will be taking physio with her.
She can be quite intimidating but she cares a lot about her students. She goes fast on lectures so make sure you tell her to slow down and ask questions. Anatomy is hard so make sure you are on top of it too because she gives you quizzes based on lecture and does expect a lot from you coming into class. Shes a great teacher and gives extra credit.
She cares and wants every student to succeed in her class
She truly cares about her students and she wants to help as much as possible. Anatomy isn't an easy class because there's so much material to not only memorize but to understand as well. She gives us extra credit but she has heavy lectures and goes fast. MAKE SURE YOU STUDY ALOT AND ASK HER QUESTION. Test are alright but study.
I took this professor during the spring and it was one of the hardest classes I ever took amidst corona virus. She is lenient in pushing back the exam date if the material is not understood and her lectures are very long and not fun. Her exams are proctored and very tricky. Study thoroughly and make study groups within your class, truly helps alot.
This class was the hardest Ive taken and the most work Ive done this semester. She truly cares about her students and wants them to pass. She does give extra credit and her test are proctored. This isnt an easy class. In order to pass anatomy , make study groups, study outside the class, and understand the material. Shes a really good teacher
Dr. Mubarak loves her students. She wants us to succeed and will work very hard to help us achieve our understanding of the material. Her lectures are intense and there is a lot of material, but she makes sure were always following along. Study hard, dont slack and youll be fine. She is always willing to help!
This professor provided an extra credit assignment to help her students, however, her way of teaching was awful. She uploaded lecture videos late and even added new pdf less than 24 hours before the unit exam. She would also ask of ways to improve her teaching, but, doesn't listen so what's the point? Don't take her unless you don't have a choice.
Personality wise: Dr. Mubarak is caring sweet person and very knowledgeable. Teaching wise: She makes sure all students are on the same page and repeats concepts until everyone gets them. She draws diagrams that are helpful to organize information. In regards to exams, pretty straight forward. If you study lectures and her notes exams will be easy
Take her. This class is challenging no matter who you are going to take. At the end of the day its the amount of work you put in and how bad you want it. tests are 35-60 questions, Extra credit, no study guides, always available, she wants you to succeed, use the lectures and visible body to study, make diagrams etc. USE YOUR RESOURCES!!
Dr. M is the WORST professor I have had for a science course. She is incredibly rude and does not care about you at all. Her tests are hard and her lecture slides are very bare you have to listen carefully to what she verbally says and find info from the book. Reading her slides will do nothing. She acts annoyed when you ask questions and wont help
Took this professor during the Summer 6 week session. Her lectures are all over the place, acts like she cares about you but doesn't. Her exams are nothing like what she goes over in lecture. Belittles students for asking questions to help get clarity. Doesn't take responsibility when she is wrong and blames the students. Overall, avoid this her.
While her class maybe difficult, she is an amazing professor! I learned a lot from her and she made me genuinely interested in Physiology. It is hard work to get a good grade in her class, but if you do the assignments and listen to her lectures (really listen) then you are good to go. You can see she really cares about her students. Take it!
Dr. M is a really caring teacher! She is really passionate about her subject and makes you want to learn more. Make sure to attend the lectures and take good notes!!!
Dr. M is the worst teacher. She acts nice, but gets annoyed with students very easily. If a question is asked she gets very upset and makes you feel dumb. She teaches by reading directly from slides. Dont try to read her writing, its chicken scratch. Her tests are very hard and based on mostly application, but she doesnt teach you how to apply.
I took her summer class because it was the only one offered. She was very unorganized and all over the place. She stopped hosting live lectures and only went to prerecorded lectures. Shes very hard to get ahold of and doesnt reply quickly or sometimes at all. Her tests are the hardest things ever, usually class average was under passing.
I took her for anatomy and physiology. Physio is hard no matter who you take. she REALLY cares about her students and will do anything to help. She may be unorganized sometimes but she will always make it up to you. I would continue to take her for everything if i could. take her
Physiology is a hard class you need a lot of studying time. Dr. M cares about her students. Watch her pre recorded lectures carefully and during class, shell clarify anything and what we do in class is very helpful. Her test are really hard and the class average is usually a D. Stay on top of things and ASK questions if you need help. STUDY ALOT
STAY AWAY! One of the worst professors I ever had. She does not explain anything, gets mad when you ask questions. Mumbles through video recordings and makes mistakes. Has attitude, never answers any questions. If you want to learn or have a decent grade do not take her class.
Professor M is a geared towards pre-nursing students and goes into detail about specific diseases. If your not prepared to study a little bit everyday then dont take her class and expect to get an A. Yes her lectures can have some technical difficulties sometimes but u can always ask questions threw email and during zoom discussion right or right
She's okay I guess she is not the best teacher. It's alot of pre-recorded lectures that are hard to follow and then during class time it's a discussion. It's not my type of learning style. She gives extra credit. The tests are hard. She gets mad at the students alot if we can't answer the questions and lectures us about it. Not great not horrible.
Unless you don't have a choice, by far the worst professor I've had and that doesn't help with an already hard course. I had to teach myself the subject and she was no help. She makes you feel very dumb and minute and acts superior to everyone. If you ask a question she will make you feel terrible for asking it.
Okay, thought this would be an easy class since Ive taken it before multiple times at other schools. Nope, she gives too much work and it takes a toll on the mental health of students. Its not even being lazy, its just way too overwhelming.
Anat/phys are challenging yet crucial. Dr. M clearly lays out her expectations & covers everything in her lectures. She emphasizes clinical connections to encourage learning instead of memorizing. Her teaching method & cohort-based curriculum pace make it easier to absorb & apply concepts. Take her if you want to succeed in healthcare programs!
VERY unorganized and all over the place. Pre-recorded lectures terrible quality. Not to be disrespectful but sometimes hard to understand thru her accent. Super high expectations. A LOT of critical thinking. Breaks us into unnecessary group discussions (worth 1/4 of grade). A LOT of quizzes and labs. Proctored exams. Have to buy the online account.
If she your last resort then take her. Don't make her your first. The quizzes and exams are not straight forward and can be confusing. Study your behind off for physiology period no matter what teacher. If you have a learning problem I would not recommend her class either. recorded lectures hard to understand and different from zoom sessions.
She has lecture videos that cover everything but they are incredibly monotone. They also seem like they are straight from the slides which she didn't even make herself. She also has very bad handwriting. Don't ever take her for summer. She makes us cover 5 chapters a week. It's basically impossible.
All her exams are 100% based on her recorded lectures. Class isnt bad as long as you put time into it. What makes the class so much more difficult is her attitude towards the students. She creates an atmosphere that it is intimidating and disrespectful.
One of the rudest professors Ive ever had. Doesnt like it when you ask questions and makes you feel dumb for asking them. She also changed the days we go to class a day before the first day, making it hard for me to schedule work. I dont recommend taking this class if you want a rude teacher who thinks so highly of herself than teaching correctly
I have never been compelled to rate a prof until now. Personally she is nice, but there was absolutely no point in attending the lectures even though mandatory. For labs she left us with little to no instruction, everyone was always confused. I pretty much self taught myself anatomy. But tests and quizzes were small compared to material learned.
She was a great help in teaching the basics of physiology and helping understand those key ideas that you need throughout your career if you continue in the medical field. Great help and always nice, making sure that you are asking questions and always are ready to move on. Really considers how the class feels and overall a good teacher to take. :)
Dr. Mubarak has high expectations of her students to think critically and might care more than her students. Her lectures are more like classroom discussions, tests are heavy, lots of extra credit opportunities, comprehensive explanations and motherly but don't take her if you don't want to perform at the high levels. #Awesome!!!! (Anat & Phys)
Dr. Mubarak is a fantastic teacher passionate about this subject; we can learn more knowledge to move forward. She is a good communicator with students who need help. She works to improve student participation in class. Professor Mubarak inspired me to overcome mental obstacles after the first exam. I feel prepared to move to the next level.
Professor Mubarak cares about her students and expects them to work as hard as she does. Prepare to put some time and work in, there are lots of details in physiology and critical thinking is required to get the most out of this class.
I love Mubarak, I took Physiology 31 during fall 2021. I loved both her lectures and labs because it prepares you for the medical field. She is very honest, cares about her students and makes sure that each and everyone has understood her lectures. Her lecture can be tough but if you study you will succeed.
I took her PHYO 31 class for summer so my experience was expedited. She talks fast so it helps to make some notes from the power point slides she posts to canvas before her lecture. She will answer any questions you have so don't be afraid to be wrong. Shes more than willing to work with you so that you can understand the material
She was nice to her students but would take too long to grade assignments and the book wouldn't help you pass the exams or quizzes.
I earned an A in the class and she took advantage of that fact. She would tell me to go to other tables and help the other students with the material. I am not being paid to teach, she is. She didn't ask and it was heavily insinuated I had to help them. It was a huge pain in the ass and a waste of my time.
She does not respond to messages, the syllabus is unorganized, and does not use pictures relating to her modules, textbook, or worksheets on the exam. She will use the most awful representation of a picture on the exam that's blurry. During an accelerated 5 week session, you would expect a professor to be more helpful and understanding.
Worst professor I've ever had. She doesn't know how to navigate canvas, never responds to emails, doesn't communicate, leaves students guessing what to expect for the next class session, locks or changes grades randomly, didn't grade anything til a few days before grades were due, does not teach/explain well, forgets to upload lectures. Very rude.
Dr. Mubarak is a great professor. She connects the material to real life experiences. Her class is very useful in the medical field and if you want to learn, take her class. She is very caring and very patient. She works really hard for her students and available to help any time. She have office hours almost every day. She wants you to SUCCEED.
Tests and quizzes can be difficult, but she is very good at explaining all the information during her lectures. Not an easy class, but if you want a career in health science, she'll make sure that you get prepared for it.
I took anatomy and physiology with Dr. M. She was not only very knowledgeable but also incredibly kind and caring. I learned so much from her, and I would highly recommend her to anyone. She made the complex topics easy to understand and was always there to help us. If you get the chance, definitely take a class with her.
I'll say that until the end, I did not think I would appreciate Prof. Mubarak as much as I do now. She may seem tough on you, but she knows her stuff and clearly cares a lot for her students and wants you to succeed. I appreciate all her time she has committed to the class and it is not an easy class! Take her if you can, but prepare to study!
She does not have a teaching method that works for nobody but herself. Worst professor I've ever had. She doesn't know how to navigate canvas, never responds to emails, doesn't communicate, locks or changes grades randomly, didn't grade anything till a few days before grades were due, does not teach/explain well. Very rude.
Dr. Mubarak is a hit or miss with some students. Her style is a little different in the sense of comparing to most American college professors I've had. She definately knows her stuff. She's pretty blunt and straight to the point when interacting with most students. She does have a big heart though. Just put in effort in her classes.
Great teacher. Really cares about her students. Attendance is mandatory and be on time to class.
Tests are 58% so you need to study, study, and study. For homework, it was mainly to label the parts & locations. She does not lecture, she provides youtube videos. You are on your own; you are basically reading and taking notes of 1 chapter per day. The only thing I did not enjoy was that tests were 50+ questions and 30 minutes time limit.
very fast paced, professor doesn't take initiative to answer your questions, very unorganized, but nice, would not recommend!
Dr. M is an excellent professor. Although her class is lecture heavy, she always incorporates hands-on labs that help to reinforce lecture material. She conveys the material clearly and even teaches you how to study and be successful in her class. On a personal level, Dr. M is very caring and genuinely wants her students to learn and be successful.
Given small amount of time to answer questions on test. 25 questions will get you 20 minutes to answer. This class definitely aggravated my anxiety.
The 6 week summer online course was quite rigorous and challenging, however If you give the course enough time and dedication you can pass easily. The professor was very kind during office hours, and provided sufficient information to succeed in the course.
Rarely gives class breaks, rushes through 3-4 long chapters per lecture. Syallbus locked after week 6. Doesn't communicate well & makes passive aggressive comments if you don't understand topic. She taught & posted incorrect info several times, & on review day claimed we misunderstood and only then would she correct the errors. VERY unorganized.
If you're wanting to show up once a week and to study hours before a test, this isn't the class for you. If you want LEARN for your future career and are willing to put in the work for it, take this class. Dr. Mubarak has a wealth of knowledge and truly cares about your learning and success. Exams are weighted very heavily and homework is easy.
She is an excellent professor, especially for teaching hard course like anatomy that is such a complex subject. I took this course during the most stressful period of senior year but she was always there to lend a helping hand. She provides feedback on work and loves to evoke complex thinking in the classroom. Just try reach out when needed. :)
She is a great professor but don't take anatomy online unless you're willing to study for at least 4 hours every day. She does not let you retake tests or quizzes. If you fail a test good luck trying to get your grade back up. You need to be ready to memorize the lectures and homework. Other than that she was a good professor, always offering help
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO DEDICATE AT LEAST 5 HOURS A DAY TO STUDY THE CONTENT. IF YOU FAIL A TEST GOOD LUCK GETIING YOUR GRADE BACK UP. NO RETAKES.
terrible lecturer, slides made no sense/had little no information. even if you do the hw, if it's not to her “standards” she'll mark you down. she wants you to ask questions but will never answer them and if you ask a question she'll make you seem stupid for asking it (but says there are “no dumb questions). do not take her if you want to succeed
Professor's schedule is very irregular, does not stick to syllabus and often gets dates mixed up for quizzes. Tough grader, judges you for asking questions but then gets upset when questions aren't asked. She doesn't respond to emails at all and doesn't grade fairly. All around bad at communicating and is very passive aggressive.
The workload was extremely heavy for a summer class 4 to 6 hours of daily reading. There's very little flexibility or room for error. I've taken harder classes before and done well, but this was the most micro-managed and demoralizing experience I've had. I would not recommend her unless you're prepared for a very rigid and high-pressure course.
I took her as a sub because my original professor left during the last week of the class, summer 2025. She went over the actual professors slides, but during her teaching, I didn't really understand her she didn't really make things easier. She is caring though, she was understanding to our class. But I personally wouldn't take her.
Truly the worst professor I've had at ElCo. Over a month behind on grading the entire semester. Questions on quizzes that are not related to any content in the lectures. Grade weighting is strange, minimal points available so very little availability to impact your grade (at least in a positive way). Should not be teaching any only courses
Took her class during COVID. It was not easy to get an A. I was 2% from a B and made a big deal about it. However, she does care and wants you to succeed.
