very good teacher, extremely intelligent and aware of world affairs, you will only have a problem in this class if your lazy and don't like to show up. every one that has a interest in world affairs should take this class

The teacher is very intelligent and knows what she is talking about. Although, it can get confusing she still makes it interesting. If you show up to class and take notes, you will be fine!!

Merri is one of the coolest teachers I've had this semester. We've had some pretty interesting discussions about just every topic (even if it doesn't pertain history--but that makes it even more fun!) You can tell she really loves what she's doing.

Merri Fefles was a great intelligent teacher. She is so smart and concerned about world issues and teaches you culture, emotion, and how life has changed from past events. She doesn't just teach you the facts. She is great in every way but kinda hard, but you enjoy her class cuz she's funny and cool and you know you're actually learning something!!

she is a good teacher, sometimes goes a little quick but as long as you ask questions, you will be fine. her tests can be hard, so be sure to read and take notes. also she really knows her stuff!

Great teacher. You have to be a total moron to not get a good grade in this class. Those that had bad experiences in her class should look at themselves first. It's not her fault you are an idiot. This is college not kindergarten. Do the work and you'll be fine. Don't do the work and you'll fail.

She works hard to give students a hands on feel of what she is talking about. She keeps things interesting and interactive. She enjoys the topic which makes it easy to pay attention to her.

Good but alost of reading and studying needed

Professor Marri is one of the best teachers at MVCC. She explains everything clearly, she makes the class a lot of fun and very interesting. She is very approachable and helpfull to all stuents. If I need more history classess I'll take her. If you want to learn history she is exellent!

I love this teacher! The thing about Fefles is that she's not just going to make it easy and give you an A for showing up. She's going to challange you. And yea, you have to read and pay attention and make an effort. It's a fun class and you learn a lot, just don't be lazy.

This isn't some blow off class. Stop complaining about it because you're too lazy to do the work. She couldn't make her tests any easier. This is basic information just be an adult and take the time to learn it.

If she doesnt like a student you can definitely tell. Most students find her pretty annoying. Not very much work but she expects a lot from her students. If you dont have an extreme interest in the subject she is not worth taking.

Yes, it was a tough course but seriously this is a college course. People need to stop expecting an A just for showing up. This teacher loves the subject and it shows. She also has alot to offer students who are really interested. As for offering help, she did anytime needed. However, if you are looking for a blow off class, this is not it.

Shes more of a university level professor in that you need to teach yourself an awful lot. However she is an extremely nice and fun lady that knows her stuff and is very helpful

She is a good Prof. if you have slight historical knowledge, then your will be fine. also she helps her students so much

If I had to some up her in one word it would be MEH. not the greatest. Easy material but strict in other areas. Big on plagerism, trust me she'll actually check, I know from experience haha. but good trips to local historic places ect. but grading can be a bit unfair. Not everybodys cup of tea! Buyer beware

Ms. Fefles was a pretty cool teacher. Not the clearest when explaining things and can be a hard grader on papers. From day one she is honest and gives you a good idea what kind of personality she has and gives you the heads up. But I like history and had prior understanding so it was pretty easy. Nice to talk to, good sense of humor. Final project

I was a bit worried at first looking at all of the comments but her class was relatively easy. I took her online 8 week summer course and she was exceptional. Kept pushing due dates back to allow more time and workload wasnt too bad. I recommend her. Very nioe teacher

THE FIRST WEEK SHE HAS YOU READ THE BOOK AND THEN TAKE QUIZZES. THEN SHE FORGETS ABOUT THE BOOK AND HAS YOU WRITE JOURNALS ABOUT THE TRIPS THAT YOU TAKE. IT WAS A REALLY EASY CLASS. CARPOOL ON SOME OF THE LONG RIDES AND DONT GET LEFT OUT ON THE BOAT CRUISE.

Took her HIS202 class online, and had no problems at all. I got a B in the class. Weekly quizes can be a little tricky but were easy for the most part. Also she is a fair grader on the written assignments. Keep up with the work and you wont have any problems. She was also very nice and helpful in all of her e-mails that we exchanged! I recommend he

She is very passionate about history and it shows. She ha a sterling sense of humor; I enjoyed the class. P.S. She is really sexy and very Greek.

Merri is awesome! I always felt like I could ask any questions and she was very friendly and understanding! You could tell History is her world and she is very knowledgeable about world history/events. I took the 3 weekend long class, which did require some work, but nothing that I didn't expect for having a 3 week class. Overall she was great!

Merri is amazing. Let me tell you that I hate history. Ive never received an A in that subject either. I like that she had us do a lot of in class activities. She is awesome. There need to be more teachers like her. Tough grader but fair.

I don't know why people don't like her, but this woman is amazing. I hate hate hate history! She made it so interesting with all our activities. She is a tough grader, but does give you the chance to try to fix your mistakes. I wouldn't mind at all taking her again for ANY history class.

It is hard to concentrate because she is stunning. But she is funny and helpful, as well. Easy "A" if you keep up with the work.

Love Her! ...Take her, you won't regret it. She's not your ordinary boring, lecture only teacher. She's so enthusiastic about her topics you can't help but feel it too. Had her for a weekend class and eventhough it's a good amount of work , she's well worth it. Great job ms. Fefles!

This teacher is super awesome! She will help you out with almost anything! I wasn't doing so well in class and she helped me out! She is very fair. Her class isn't boring, she likes to have the students work with each other. Overall GREAT teacher!

BEST TEACHER AT MORAINE, extremely helpful. She will help you out with anything if you're willing to go to her office hours. Her work is super easy. Exams are all take home and you can use the book. I recomment this teacher 100%

Ms. F is awesome!!! I had her for Illinois and Local history and the class was so fun! We went to a bunch of places in chicago and we got to eat in China town and Greek town and the food was awesome. As for class work, it goes along with what you are doing so its all super simple. She is an awesome teacher and is super funny!! Take this class!!

Il and Local History is one of the best classes I have ever taken. You don't even feel like you are in class. For each assignment we had, it was on our field tripS! Merri Fefles is super informative. She knows her history! You can ask her any question and she answers with enthusiasm. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! You wont regret it. --Live Free, Die Hard.

Top notch professor with an awesome attitude. I highly recommend taking one of her classes. Her tests are open notes, however don't expect to do well on them without studying. Study for the tests by answering the review questions at the end of each chapter. Had fun and learned a lot. Took this as an 8am class; wasn't a bad way to start the day.

hahahaha Ms. F is awesome. One of the best professors. Want to have fun and learn at the same time. Take her. Jeeze just study, pay attention, and show up. It's all right there. She's fair and gives people extra help if need be. Lovely lady.

Do not expect to pass if you do not do the work. This is supposed to be college. Ms. F. is beyond fair. She sets clear expectations at the onset of class. Want a B? Look in the syllabus. Want an A? Look in the syllabus. She's great and I will definitely take her again if I need another history class.

Fefles is by far one of my favorite teachers at MV. She is wonderful, I have never taken a class where participation in class counts for so much of your grade. And with participation, you learn - which gives you an A eventually. Do your homework , WRITE GOOD PAPERS ( MLA is not too harshly graded ) and just please, participate! TRUST ME- LOVE!

I took this class for summer credit & didn't know what to expect, especially since I'm no history buff. Ms. F was nice, fun, & genuinely passionate about what she teaches. Grade is clear-cut & required much participation, but as long as you show up, do some reading, & prepare yourself for the midterm, project, and final, you will pass easily.

Ms. F is such a cool teacher! She's very down to earth and personal and you can have really great conversations with her about the topic. The trips we take for the class are so neat, I've never been to any of them aside from Starved Rock. After our trips she'll also take us out to eat and explore a little more. Definately take her for a class!

She was overall I really good professor. I enjoyed her, as a person and as a professor. It was a overall good class.

Such an easy going and wonderful professor who treated us like her friends rather than students. She made us comfortable and I literally woke up every morning happy to go to class. She doesn't make you feel overwhelmed and works with you rather than against you. Honestly loved her. shes such a great person and helped me tremendously last semester.

Ms. Fefles was a wonderful teacher! I would highly recommend her for her American History class. She is never dry and makes learning fun, she uses videos, class discussions and there isn't much paperwork to do.

Professor Fefles was awesome. She was very knowledgeable on History, and was a pleasure to talk to. The entire class participated, which is unusual. But the conversations were relevant, even if they were about events from the 19th century. Very good teacher; would take another class taught by her. She grades honestly and fairly.

Online class with the usual online quizzes due once a week and another assignment besides that. The quizzes were easy enough, but the other assignment was a bit more time consuming. The final was very easy. Google is always your friend.

Best history teacher i have taken at Moraine. Midterm & Final, couple small assignments, and 1 big project. She is a a tough grader, and participation is majority of your grade. If you don't like speaking up this is not the class for you. Class isn't boring, she tries to engage conversation. Overall she is really nice and understanding!

Ms. Fefles is an amazing professor !!! I took her for American Government and loved the way she taught the course. I then took her for American History 2 because she was that good!! I suggest everyone take her. Her lectures are far from boring and she even has classes outside !!! She is a fair professor and cares about each students success!!

She's a good teacher! you just have to work for your grade

Professor Fefles has been my favorite professor at Moraine Valley hands down. She was a professor that encouraged me to take my thinking to higher levels. She is an active faculty member and organizes events around campus to promote unity and peace. I would definitely recommend her for anyone looking to go more in depth on historical events.

If she wasn't my professor (or twice my age) she'd probably be my best friend or party friend. Super open minded and like 80% of the class grade is just your participation and the essay you have to write. Half the semester classes were cancelled and most tests were online. would deff take again

Wonderful professor most of the time will work with the students and is very essay going. will compare and contrast historical events to current events. There are normally fewer assignments, but they are worth more. if you show up and do your work you'll pass lectures are interesting and can keep your attention

Great teacher, very good at lecturing

I took her 3 weekend course for PSC 110. She was great, the class was easy as long as you put in the work. Cool conversations and assignments. She is a more than reasonable professor. We didn't need to come to the last class so we had 8 classes instead of 9. We got out of classes early on days we got through material. Would recommend her as a prof.

Merri Fefles is outgoing, sweet, and overall an easy teacher. Participation is a must IF YOU DON'T LIKE TALKING DON'T TAKE HER! She talks about issues we have today and compares them to what we are learning. BE WARNED: she isn't a fast grader, and she is disorganized. She gives out extra credit a lot and she is an easy grader most of the time.

Honestly part of the reason why I now want to go into Politics, participation is a must however isn't hard if you enjoy talking. Very respectful to different opinions. Her grading is fair even though it takes a while, she does accept late work. All her test are open notes

Ms F is an awesome professor. She has the most enjoyable classes with interesting topics that really bring you in and make you want to participate. She's the reason I'm a political science major right now. Great teacher who really pushes you to do your best with work that is challenging but fair.

Prof. Fefles is passionate and caring and she motivates us to engage in discussions. She really cared about her students during the pandemic, and toned down the assignments to relieve us from extra stress. My only problems are that she is a slow grader (which can be advantageous by giving more time for hw), and some hw having unclear instructions.

Professor Fefles is a great Professor and I enjoyed her class. Even with all that is going on, she tries to accommodate and make sure her students get the instruction and guidance they deserve. Her lectures are always interesting and stimulating, and she seems to really care about all of her students. I would definitely recommend her.

This professor definitely cares about her students and takes everyones personal experiences into consideration. Participation is a must if you want a good grade ! Class environment was very welcoming. She makes the class easier by correlating it to present day situations. Tests and work is super easy. Participate and complete your work to pass.

She is the most sweet teacher that I had meet in collage, she always care about the students, and on my opinion she is a great teacher, she always is open to her students and their needs.

Took her class over the summer. Very sweet, definitely cares a lot about her students. She responded to text messages pretty quickly, not sure about emails. Overall easy class if you actually meet length requirements and don't copy other students verbatim. Only complaint had to do with canvas but she did provide clear instruction for assignments.

I made an account just to rate Ms. F, which shows how much I enjoyed her class. She expects students to put in the effort to learn, which is not unreasonable. Discussions were personable & funny, which made the material easy to digest, & she was quick to respond to questions I had. Normally, history teachers are painfully boring, but Ms. F is gold!

I had this teacher back in 2022, she was decent I'd say, tests were pretty straight forward plus they were open book and open note, what I didn't like was there was no proper lectures, we kinda had to teach ourselves. She also had an annotated bib and two essays which was fine. Really you have to stay on top of this class, or just take it in person

Super easy class and great instructor. If you take this class, online at least, and make an honest effort to write your own papers and read the assigned chapters, then you will undoubtedly pass with an A. If you fail, it genuinely is your fault!!!! Pros: Simple material Clear To do List Not a lot of writing Cons: A LOT OF READING(just read it)

She is such a cool prof! You have to read A LOT, you have A LOT of discussion board posts, and LONG papers to write. Just put in the work; read it all, do the homework, do every DB post (with replies), and write your own papers. She uses AI checkers, but you don't need them for her papers anyway, trust me. It sounds bad, but it's all easy work.
