Merillee Cunningham has been the most enthusiastic and interesting poetry teacher I have ever learned from. She is a riot in teaching because her passion shows through and touches you whether or not you like it. Highly recommend her to all. She's great

My absolute most favorite teacher. She is like a female Einstein, only with the social skills that draw you in and make you want to stay in school forever (in her classes, of course). I absolutely love her and will continue her classes as long as I can.

One of the most intresting classes! You learn a lot if you pay attention. Tests are not hard. It has too much information to remember but she gives you a review. I would recommend Dr.Cunningham. She is great and fun!

Dr C is a fun prof to take, she is smart and interesting, she accept late work without penalty and give out review sheet that actually help on the tests. wonderful prof i 'll say. I will definately recommend her to anyone.

You will learn about more than you ever imagined. Maybe in the lower classes she lets students tell what they think, but in the upper levels she so far above you no one else can compare. Poetry was great with her as well. She also teaches Shakespeare

She is fabulous and intelligent. Has a voice like Edith Bunker, and God love her for it. Very scatterbrained, but you will more from her than you could imagine. Wonderful person as well.

Well, what can I say about Merrilee Cunningham. (uuh uuh and) She is a very interesting person, and her voice can be quite annoying. Overall, you will learn from her. She has 2 exams and quizzes through out the course. All exams are short answer.

She is a very good teacher and understanding. As long as you show some interest in the class and put some effort into your assignments, you will get an A or B. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

My Favorite! The sweetest professor ever. The advanced creative writing class lets you be free, expressive, and get a chance to get honest feed back on your most prized work.

Very helpful teacher. Very knowlegeable too. She knows the book inside out and makes lit more interesting. Just 2 test. Grades easily if she sees you're trying. Definately recommemded!!!!

Scattered, disorganized, ditzy, sloppy, and frustrating. Very nice, funny, lenient, and helpful. She loves mythology, but if you have ever been in her office you would be horrified that she can find ANYTHING. If you read the book, discuss in class, and study for the tests, you will do well. Actually, I don't think anyone gets less than a B!

I love her. There is nothing else to say. She is creative and enthusiastic, forgiving, and knowledgeable. She knows her stuff. She is a mom so she isnt the tidy-est, or organized but it doesnt interfere with her work. Of my whole english carrer she is the best and my favorite.

Shes a good teacher,but the class is tricky!It's hard to get an A,because there are only 3grades for the whole semester:Midterm,10 page research paper,and final.You need to pay attention and go to every class because she goes into detail about the stories.She LOVES her class,is very enthusiastic about her teachings,so sweet and understanding

Awesome and passionate professor! However, the course gets a little out of hand she jumps around topics alot. You might need to do a little outside research just to keep up. Nonetheless, shes very interesting, helpful, lenient with grades, and an easy A!

Want to be educated beyond that which you use only in an English class? Yes she does use Google a lot. You will never find yourself asking what does this class have to with life beyond college. You will come away educated in English, Philosophy, Government, Computer Skills, World History. Her class makes up for a real liberal arts ed.

Great Professor. Beautiful red hair. Works us hard and expectw a lot from us, but teaches well and is truly inspirational.

She is so passionate about literature. Sometimes it is hard to follow her lectures, but if you ask questions she is more than willing to explain. Lots of museum trips, which are great. She is so knowledgeable it makes the class fun even if you dont like the reading.

Very nice and helpful. Easy A. Attendance isnt mandatory but she will notice if ur not there. I didnt really use my book at all i spent about $100. She makes tests very easy. Papers are required. 10pg paper for World Lit first half. overall, good.

Great Prof, not an English major but she made the subject interesting. Took her in summer 1 and walked out with a B. Go to class it pays off in the end.

I learned so much in this class. While I had to work hard and read a lot, I loved this class. Be careful. She doesn't take roll so it takes a couple of weeks to figure out that she knows every time that you are not there.

She is one of the best teachers I've had in college. It also helps that it was a small class of people who all took the course seriously. I wish I could take another class with her. She's passionate and knowledgeable about the material and obviously enjoys her job. She expects a lot from her students but gives a lot in return.

I enjoyed this class despite hating literature. This is a world lit class that I was required to take. Her voice is annoying but if you attend class and take decent notes, it is easy to pass. She is extremely helpful if you ask for it.

She was an awesome Professor. She works with you for your academic success. She can help you with research paper. I was going to drop the course and ended up receiving an A. I would have so regretted that. SHE IS GREAT and LOVES HER JOB AS A TEACHER.

She is a nice lady. Even though I got an A, after looking back, her class did have my hands full I must admit. She had a theme for the semester and we had to read three thick books and wrote essays on them, a 10-page research paper, and some tests/quizzes over the books we had to read. The class isn't hard, but it did take up a bit of your time.

Great instructor & knows her material. You can ask questions & have them answered. Very fascinating class. A couple of papers & essay questions in exams but not bad if you have read & know the material. Would definitely recommend her for English & especially Shakespeare. Very awesome!!!!

She is one of the best proffesors I had.Sha is helpful, if you do not understand something go ahead and ask her and she will answer clearly. I was about to drop the class the third day but she told me "you will be fine" and I am really glad that I listened.As long as you read the book and follow along you will be fine. This summer class was amazing -- we learned so much, saw plays by Shakespeare and became a learning group. It was a difficult pace but she explained everything, answered all questions with a smile, and made us feel that there was nowhere she would rather be.

Great professor. If not the best one of the most enthusiatic and passionate professors about her subjects that she teaches. As long as you show up take notes and ask questions you are in most cases going to get an A. She also believes in helping her students any time and any place. If I could I would take her every class.

The class covers prose, poetry and drama from Sumeria to the Renaissance. It is a heavy reading load, but finding a more passionate or caring prof is hard. Come to class, take notes and read to do well. Students help choose test questions, and test review days are valuable! There are even extra credit opportunites. What else can you want?

Excellent professor. I never thought that I would enjoy early forms of literature; but in the end she nailed it. Very helpful. Want's you to inquire about concerns. No question or comment is not respondend to and/or is a dumb comment. She's very informative and it's her desire for the students to learn. You must work. Extra Credit assign helpful.

She helped me write the best research paper that I have ever written and now I am trying to implement the plan in my freshman paper. I am definitely a better writer because of this class, but I am also a better thinker.

She is a very nice lady and passionate about literature. I think she grades easily. Her midterms and finals are the same: 3 essays and 10 identification terms. As long as you make good arguments in your essays, you will receive a good score.

She is a wonderful teacher. Very nice and very helpful. One tips to get an A in this class: make a compelling arguments in all those essays. You will be just fine. Also, there are a lot of extra credits. So I don't see how you can't get an A in this class at all :).

Literature isn't my favorite subject, no interest at all, Dr. Cunningham is passionate about literature, yet crazy! Easy to talk to, there is one research paper, which she lets you revise, not a hard grader, and extra credit is plentiful, possible/ cant help but get an grade of A or B.

Simply an awesome Professor. Maybe the best one you could ever get in Humanities and English. She never needed a book and always answers your question. She can teach you something in 3-4 weeks that other professor require 16 weeks to do. She is the mini-mester Doctor!!!

Dr. Cunningham is passionate about what she teaches. She is always available, and tries to help her students as much as possible. There is a lot of writing, but this is an English class. I continually recommend her to students.

she's an amazingly intelligent professor! she lectures not just on the stories themselves but also on the history and backstories to explain why they were written. she lets you pick questions you don't want on your exams and isn't really strict on due dates. she had a ton of info in her head & is rdy to share. would take again without a doubt!

For this course, so long as you try and put forth some effort, you can pass. She gives plenty of extra credit, and will work with you no matter what the circumstance. She hopes to instill a love and appreciation for literature. So take a chance on her, you can't go wrong!

Professor Cunningham was amazing! She was helpful and caring and knew pertinent information. She does get off track at times but all of the information she provides ends up being on the tests. There are quizzes, tests, papers and museum visits but she grades fairly and makes her class fun and enjoyable. I would definitely take her again.

If you enjoy Literature, specifically Shakespeare, and possess well developed writing skills you should be able to earn an A. However, if you find reading and writing to be dreadful then you'll probably have to put in a lot more effort than you would like to earn an A or B. Dr. Cunningham is amazing, I would take her class again.

I took this course in the evening during the summer session. Her knowledge of this topic is phenomenal and she shares her excitement and enthusiasm with the class. If you are looking for an easy summer class to help boost your GPA, I highly recommend this professor. Her lectures can inspire you to want to learn more about some of the characters.

Dr. Cunningham is really nice. That being said, she doesn't give out many assignments whatsoever. The things she DOES grade are weighed heavily. For the entire semester, we took a midterm, a final, and had one research paper. It's best to record her lecture and look up the SparkNotes on the readings. She says "the truth of the matter is" a lot.

I took her for World Lit, and I have to say that I have never had a professor who is so knowledgeable on the subject she is teaching. She can answer any question and she has an opinion about everything. She is a fountain of information and I would definitely recommend. She can talk, and can seem unorganized in her lectures, but always makes it back

The absolute best professor I had at UHD. I took at least three classes with her, and one was Literary New Orleans. Traveling and learning with her was an honor. Best of all, her Shakespeare lectures still play in my mind many, many years later. She also wrote me a stellar recommendation letter for my first teaching job. She truly inspires!!!!

Dr. Cunningham is one of the most valued professors at UHD. Quite honestly with her talent, knowledge and education, she could be teaching at an Ivy league school. She is funny, gracious, understanding, and informative. Highlight of my semester.
