I took her for Summer I, and had to work HARD to get that A. I would imagine that during regular semester, if you read her powerpoints along with the chapters, you should be able to pull an A.

I took this teacher this semester for biology 1406. I have no interest in this stuff but it is required to get into nursing school. She is really an amazing teacher. She is so smart and truly goes above and beyond to help you if you need it. She often grades with a small curve, and gave us an option for extra credit towards end of semester.

I have had many science professors and Professor Karout is by far the best. Not only is she extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in her content area, but she also knows how to teach. She explains things and draws visuals, as well as uses everyday examples that we can relate to. She is always very willing to offer extra help if you ask her.

This is a hard class and she does not make it easier BUT she works with you to earn a good grade. If you fail her class it is because you didn't show and and didn't do the work. She makes a complicated subject understandable by using powerpoints (all of which are online) and interesting analogies. Plan on using your book and online content extensively.

Class is very difficult, be prepared to study, study, study. According to my classmates they were all averaging C's and D's. I studied every moment possible, and according to my estimation I should have either a high C or low B. She's a good teacher, but be prepared for difficult tests.

Prof. Karout is a very good teacher! The class is hard but if you use the study guides, do the homework and READ the chapters an A is possible. This class is very hard.I studied and studied but could never do as well as I hoped. My grades looked pretty bad and I was HOPING for a C. In the end, I made a B. Prof K Rocks!! She will make you laugh and enjoy being there. You need to be in class and when she writes something on the board or repeats something over & over know that will be on the test. Prof Karout is an awesome instructor. Those in class who complained that she was a terrible teacher were the ones that didnt do their work or pay attention in class. If you pay attention, read the chapters and complete your work you will do fine. She once said to me if you pass this Bio you can pass all as this one has the most info needed.

LOVE Professor K. After wanting to drop this Spring after I saw my first two test grades I sat down to talk with her and she convinced me to hang in there and promised me it would get better. I am glad I did. She knows her stuff!!!

Explained concepts thoroughly and was very easy to keep up with. Try to sit in the front of the class, because the professor draws many many diagrams. She has online homework that is basically a grade booster when you have a low exam score. She also drops the lowest exam grade, which is excellent. Very reasonable, and I would take 1407 if offered!!

Prof. Karout was my 1406 professor and I'm finishing up A&P2 right now. If you are nursing major or just want an enjoyale biology class, take her! This is a class designed to weed out those who should not be persuing science majors; It will not be a cakewalk, no matter who you take it with. If you paid attention in high school Biology you will do well. Dr. K makes the subject fun and is an extremely kind professor, but her tests are pretty difficult.

Prof. Karout is very knowledgeable on subject and lectures as such. Her PowerPoint slides are very good, be sure to print before class and ASK questions before you get behind. Tests require you to use lecture material to logically deduce the correct answer. As Prof. Karout put it, this is almost Organic Chemistry. Course is hard but you learn.

Biology is a very hard subject so I will be honest and say that the class and material is not easy, but she will do her best to help you understand. Make sure u do the homework, study the study guide, and powerpoints. Masterbiology practice test are useful as well.

She obviously wants you to do well in the class. I learned quite a bit about Biology. There were 5 test all M.C. and 6 online quizzes or so. Biology is a lot of information. If you work for the grade you want, you will get it. I wish it had been a little more challenging.

Professor K is awesome! I took her for Bio Lab and not only did she explain difficult concepts clearly but she also made experiments fun! Her quizzes are pretty straight forward. I never studied for more than 20 minutes before each class and she gives extra credit on the tests. She is also funny, sweet and makes herself available! Highly recommend!

There is no final, but there is a practical mid-semester and one at the end (which is pretty much the final cut into two). Those are really hard, but everything else is quite simple! My semester mostly revolved around this class, but what's great is that the class is easier than the lab, 70% class 30% lab, and the Practicals are in the lab portion!

No cumalitve final but there is SO much to memorize for each test (50-60 questions) and there isn't much time to go back and look over your test. extra credit only appeared in last exam (2 bonus questions).really nice and will help you if you ask. Took Professor K's summer class for 1406, so this review is geared for that particular format. It's quite simple: show up for class, take notes, ask questions. The amount of effort you put in is directly proportionate to the grade you get. She's tough, yes, but not impossible. If you take the time to learn, she takes the time to teach you.

I was nervous about taking biology online but I enjoyed it. There was 5 not hard exams for the class portion and 2 exams for the lab portion which was difficult. If you pay attention to the homework, PowerPoints and labs you will do fine with the class and exams. The professor will answer any questions you have. I highly recommend her.

I took her biology lab class, great professor, so happy to be at Collin teaching students and gave little extra credit. The lab was test heavy, one being the mid-term and the other being the final exam. Always willing to help and easy to talk too.

Okay so I took professor K for 3 whole semester for A&P I, II and microbiology and well I waited till my last class to talk about her. she is great knows everything , quizzes every week 4 exams for lecture and 3 for lab there is this lab report and case study she gives out which you could totally do the class is passable you just have to read

Hard class but you will come out of it knowing your stuff. You have to put in a lot of work but she will help you as long as you help yourself too. Prepare to study for 2-4 hours a day. Tests are hard if you don't know the material or don't study. You cannot slack off in this class, your work must be 100%. This class is not for the lazy!

The textbook is your bible, and her analogies will help you remember things. Participation will help you get more out of the class, and there is a lot of information to memorize.
