Pay attention, do the homework and expect this teacher to be rigorous and unrelenting. Her tests are very hard and homework is plentiful. She can be fun, there is usualy a good atmosphere in the classroom. Other than that, I wasnt impressed at all.

This class is really easy and very straight forward. The test are easy too, online and theres plenty of time to them. I don't know how these other people up there found it hard, since its open book! She also makes the class really fun and not boring!
Very opinonated and sticks to hardcore Social Psychology theories. Method of teaching is great. For some reason, she lies a lot. Said she had a Phd, when she had not completed her dissertation, even put Phd on the green sheet. Comes late often
Teaches through *very* different channels. Forces critical thinking, forces discussion. Will play devil's advocate to tweak a students mindset. If you fail, it's you're own damn fault because her tests are take-home and she gives unlimited Xtra-credit.
This is an interesting person and all her classes are difficult. The first class I took with her, I thought she was ok, tough, but ok. The second one I relized how much she lies, how she plays favorites and how neurotic and cocky she can be. Her homewo

Every school has one. You know, the seemingly liberal professor who uses the classroom as a bully pulpit for their own agenda. Encourages opinions...if they agree with her's. All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

Often comes late if at all.You'll catch her lies a lot.She talks about interesting things, but mostly not about the subject.

She is the worst teache I've ever had. Mean, rude, and tends to pick on people that dont' favor her opinions. Discriminates against students who don't fit into her mold. Don't take this class, if you do u'll regret it forever and u'll regret meeting her!
I had to drop her class. She is horrible. She talks fast with an awfull annoying sound. She enjoys embarrassing students in the class in order to show herself off. dont take it with her!

She is very political, but acts like she isnt. Most of the classtime is spent on irrelevant matters and she is ALWAYS late! Her tests are take home, but they are really hard. If you want to learn nothing at work really hard at it, take this class.
Just stick with her and pay attention. She rattles off random psych theories that gets ppl to think. Her tests however demand students to read the book. She's a funny teacher and she gets in your face, but it's to prove a valid point.
She is a cool teacher. She is very intimidating, but if you read your book and really take the time to research info for your test, then you are set.You reap what you sow, thats all there is to it.The papers can be tuff, but she isn't that hard on you.
Unfortunately Mharie Fraser mistakes confrontationalism for assertiveness. I figured out in the first 2 days that to get an A, you keep a low profile & your mouth shut. She is simply a mean person with a chip on her shoulder-pretty girls watch out!

I didn't think a psychology of women class would be fair to men, and that is what i was afraid of when I went into the class. She is really fair to both genders and does not allow sexism in any form. I did not feel as if I had to defend myself at all. Plus she is really funny
her midterm and finals are beyond weird. some of the questions are not found in any of the readings or lectures. i find she plays favorite and uses inappropriate language in the classroom. i think that she needs to brush up on her social skills. She needs to be less intimidating.

"Dr." Fraser demonstrates unprofessionalism in her teaching. She seems to like embarassing her people, responding with comments like, "you DONT know what that means?" to students who have never heard of certain terms she uses in her lectures. She is mean and oblivious to students' feelings.
I loved her class. It's hard work but well worth it. Slackers don't like her class because you actually have to read and pay attention. Boohoo.
Mhaire Fraser is a Wonderful Professor!She provides take-home exams so you figure it out on your own.Yes, exams can be tricky but hey if you're the type who does not show up on her class,you're doomed!Her exams are based from lectures and discussions.Journals are easy.Not hard at all.She is not mean.Afterall,she does have a Degree.
Dr. Fraser is very agressive teacher. She behaves like a bully in class and loves to go on and on about herself and her personal life. Also she is very unprofessional. She uses bad languange in class besides missing a lot of her lecture. She definitivelly should learn a little bit about social behavior. Definitivally one of my worse teachers.

Before taking this class I had heard intimitading things about psych. But Dr.Fraser is a very good teacher. I love her lectures. She is so educated and explains very well. She won't waste your time with nonesense. Some take her humor offensive, but she is one of the coolest teachers I've ever had. extremely knowledgeable. You won't regret it. FUN!
I read the advice on here but took her anyway and totally regretted it!! I thought people didn't like her because she was too hard, but the truth is she is just mean and has an attitude problem. She picks on people and tries to embarrass you if you don't agree with her. I don't know how (or why) she became a teacher... DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!! =)
I started out in Fraser's Social Psych class and enjoyed it and her so much that I continued on and took her Psych of Women, Aspects of Developmental, and General Psych from her. She can be tough, she does push some comfort limits, that is what college and growing up is about. I would totally recomend her. Social Psych was my favorite.
I was kinda scared abotu taking her, but I really liked. She is funny and smart. She does hvae a way of telling stories that is cool. I know that some people don't knwo how to take her, but the guy who said she was mean is wrong. She is pretty helpfu. Her humur is sharp, so if you are not used to that it can be weird. I liked her
Her lectures are interesting. She plays devil's advocate, which is supposed to get you thinking. Do your reading, open your mind, attend class and think. You'll do well in her class. Assume she will be reguritating the text for a lecture and you will hate it. She is totally available through email-even about test questions. Class was fun.
Mhaire was one of the most inspirational teachers I have ever had. Her essays can be tough but they are enjoyable to write. She is openminded and doesn't allow for the slander of others' opinions in her class . She loves to play devil's advocate. She has a great sense of humor and a lot of experience. Take her classes, she is amazing!
She is such a B!$%&, she thinks she is so interesting and great but she's a pscho. Everything she says she wants you to raise your hand, its really anoying. If you dont agree with her and of course she is always right then she challenges you and makes you explain why you feel a certain way. Dont take her she's a B@#$%.
She is really rude in class, when she shows up. She likes to swear and talk all about her personal life that has nothing to do with the class. She wants students to bring her Starbucks and she thinks its ok for her not to show up to class.
Mhaire is more open minded than most people say. I had opposing opinions with her and she treated me fine. If you can back up what you're saying she has no problem. Some idiots can't and take offense when she calls them on it. The class isn't hard, it's college level. It's heavy but the assignments aree fun. I learned a lot about myself.
Dr.Fraser is an awesome Person!I've had her for Psych 1 and wish I can take her other classes.She is easy going, laid-back,kind,understanding.Tests are based on lectures,notes and from book.Yes she can be sarcastic but it's ok as everyone can be that way. Overall, this is a FUN class. TAKE HER only if you can handle criticisms!!!
honestly she missed 1/3 of class, she a bit funny but at the same time shes a b**** because she make you feel like crap after u say something. Shes useless when u prepare for the test so get ready to ur own studying, u need to type about 40 pages of writing in the quarter. I highly recomend another professor.
It's a psychology internship,but I also got to sit in one of her classes.Very knowledgeable,especially re scientific side of psychology.Her level is more gradschool teaching,though,to be honest.I can see her teaching something like neuropsychology or psychological tests/measurements as this aspect of psychology is where she can shine.
He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She made me very interested in the class and that is mainly why I did so well. I had a really boring Psych 1 teacher and Mhaire made this class so worth going to. She is critical, but not in a bad way just don't ask stupid questions and be able to back up what you are asking.
truth: THIS CLASS IS NOT FOR THE STONER/SLACKER. If you work hard, you can get a B, no problem. I had no interest in SOCIAL psych, only Clinical prior to this class. However Mhaire is an Amazingly INTELLIGENT(published and PHD) professor, and I highly recommend for anyone interested in Pysch (soc. and clinical), Humanities, Anthropology, sociology.
Took this class over the summer, psych 14, and it was quite fun. Lectures cover the assigned chapters and there were a few projects to be done. She really knows her stuff (phd, current researcher) which made learning fun. Will need to work to get an A, but there are extra credit assignments you can do.

Know what you're writing, don't BS it. prereq. is a writing class so she expects you to write decently. take home tests are hard but if you do well on papers, it evens out. this class made me excited about psyc. got me thinking and trying to be a better person.recommend it. i just transfered and this class prep me
skills as a teacher are great. Helps you learn differently and more than most all other classes. Intelligent person, compassionate, extremely helpful, approachable. Exams take time, but are take home and you get a week. Papers are self explanatory. Funny!!! SO FUNNY!!!
Dont bother with this teacher. She has the biggest head of any professor i have ever had. She is so full of herself, and she only shows up for class when SHE wants to. She has hard tests, and she covers none of the material in class. She cusses in class just to try to be "like the students". Very conceited, lectures on unrelated tangents.
She is very into herself. She uses her students to do her research. She goes off on topics not related to the class and lets the students do the same. She does not care about you, only herself. She boasts about her degrees, yet teaches college. If you don't plan on majoring in Psych DON'T take her!

Lectures were rambling, disorganized and off-topic. Class content was anecdotal and subjective with little reference to psychology theory, research or findings.
W/o a doubt one of the best profs I've ever had. Class was required for my grad program (yes, already have B.A.). She is very accomplished, entertaining, sarcastic, witty, down-to-earth, and most importantly fair. Thoughtful presentation of material. Tests are tough, so show up to class and read everything. You will learn a ton.
Dr. Fraser Rocks! Her class is so much fun and she is extremely energetic and witty. Her class is only "challenging" if you are a slacker, don't attend the lectures and have a fear of speaking up in class. She teaches at a college level and expects you to learn at a college level. Seriously, the best class I've taken!!!!!
I thought it was really rude that she would consistently come late to class and then keep us in 5-10 mins after class was supposed to end because she hadn't finished lecturing and if you tried to pack up your stuff after the regular class time had ended she would tell you not to be rude! Hah as if her coming in late to teach isn't already impolite!
Pretty intense class, interesting lectures. Attending class & reading would help you ALOT on papers and tests (5 books). Grade is based on those 2 papers and tests. She didn't show up to class a few times & was late 10-20 minutes at times. Alot of extra credit opportunities (only if you do what's already required, & it's all papers)
i took this class and loved it. the tests are very hard and you actually have to read ALL the books, but i did well on the essays (seriouly READ the books)and i got an A in the class. great teacher, awesome class. highly reccomended!!

Fraser is one of my favorite teachers on campus! Her class is only hard if you make it. She's very laid back and chill. Strict cheating policy with her tests because they're posted on her website. (She will find out if you cheat). Don't enroll if you don't like to be called on.

Ms. Fraser is the worst teacher I've had at De Anza. (BTW don't call her "Ms." to her face or she'll have a hissy fit). She's very unorganized, she's always late, every other word out of her mouth is the "f" word, brags about having a million degrees. I feel like she's trying to compete with her everyone. She's not helpful with assignments or tests
so at the beginning of class, she told us straight off that she has 5 masters and a Phd... thus trying to show off... then she goes on cussing and tells the class how she is going to treat us like adults... I graduated from a UC and never met a teacher that cusses. If you can avoid her, then do it! She is a horrible teacher and has her favorites.

This was my first quarter at De Anza, and I ended up in two of Dr. Fraser's classes and I loved them both! Yes, she is tough, and sometimes people think she is rude, but I learned soooo much from her. I would recommend her classes to anyone! In fact, I'll be taking another class of hers next quarter!
I have never had a class that I enjoy so much. She is knowledgeable and honest. The case load was simple. Just have to write a page per night of class for journals. The tests are take home and you actually learn quite a bit because you have to search through the books to find the info. I would definitely take another class by her.
Dr. Fraser is wonderful teacher. This class is not for the weak or people who want an easy grade. You have to put in the time at home. Just do what she says and you'll be fine. I don't even have a grade yet but I know I did well. I would def. take another class of her.

when you ask question, be sure to be offended at any point. when you e-mail her for help, be sure to be, "Huh? so that's it?" She makes you to think by your self. She doesn't answer you in direct way. If you work hard, you will learn to write in APA format and that's it for this class. There are lots of interesting discussions.
Clarity is an issue. She will never admit she is wrong, even if the answer is not in the book or if the whole class got the answer wrong. Her attendance policy is very liberal. Even she comes in late and calls in often. ORGANIZATION: Lack of is the best responce. She will rewrite a test after she assigns it and answers won't be distinctive or clear

She is an absolutely wonderful teacher. You learn A LOT, and everything she discusses is relevant, so don't miss class even though she does not take roll. I definitely got a lot tougher after this class, so this class is not for overly sensitive people. DO all the readings and you'll be fine. I loved this class and this teacher!
1st day of class, she showed up 40 mins late. Kept babbling abt her 5 master degrees and phd from USC, who cares?! Almost every single sentence that came out from her mouth included the word "fuxk" or "sh!t". I had her twice for psychology 1 than 14. She's very entraining and kept me interested in class. However, she does rambles on about different subjects, but at least she has take home exams. Some questions on the exam, I don't even remember her ever going over in lectures. Just put in effort, and you'll get a decent grade. I got a B+ both times.
Doctor Fraser is the coolest teacher I have ever had. She is so interesting and funny, I always look forward to her class. I love the way she teaches, she does not assign busy work, but has a outline of many different projects and you have to do a certain amount of them. I liked psych before her class but now I am obsessed! LOVE her!

Extremely unprepared, she was late to i think every class. Cusses too much, it went past being casual. All she does is talk, for the whole period. No visuals, just talking. I would say 30% of her talking is lecture and the rest about her self. Dreaded her class and she clearly did not want to be there either. Don't take her or DROP ASAP.
Has a fascinating stance on feminism. The essays and reading are a pain, but not bad. Plenty of extra credit opportunities. My only complaint would be her unprofessional demeanor. Was absent 7 days out in a semester period, with 4 classes being cancelled. Otherwise an intelligent, funny professor.
