Dr. Merritt is an exceptional woman. Her classes are very structured and she constantly reviews information in preparation for the tests. She is a tough grader but she makes her expectations very clean before-hand, so it is your own fault if you get a poor grade. Her lectures are very informative, she is super sweet, and a very funny teacher.

She repeats terms and facts required for her quizzes and tests. You will learn bc she reviews every single class. She's very proper, professional and a tough grader. She dedicates time to every single student's papers or projects. Builds you up and is there to coach you. Constructive criticism given. Book required, easy read book w essentials

Merritt is an awesome professor! Constantly reviews every class and keeps you on your toes. Reading is a MUST! Complete the handouts. Grading is just like any other class. Take her and you'll learn lots of information. I wished she taught other courses than Intro to ESE and Instructional Strategies. She is professional and expects you to be one.

Dr. Merritt has been rumored to be strict but she is AMAZING! She is an honest woman and reviews every chapter and if you're lucky, she sends chapter reviews with assignments for extra credit. When I took her she was new to teaching one of the classes but was very professional and a great instructor. I hope to take her again for future classes.

She is tough hands down, but she is really, really good. Extremely knowledgeable, funny at times, but expects you to work for your grade. You will need the textbook and are expected to participate in class discussions. She may give study guides, but only after you read the chapters. She's really good at reviewing material and is professional.

Merritt is not a hard professor. She is fair and detailed with her class. But if your the type of student that doesnt read the chapter or listen in lectures then don't except to pass the test. She hands down was the best professor I've had at Broward College. SHE TEACHES THE INFORMATION. I passed with an A, without the book. Becuase she teaches.

Now this is a professor who will make you work for your grade. I have to say that I have learned more in Dr. Merritt's class than in all of my other classes combined. She makes you read the chapter and actually retain the information. If you follow the rubric for her assignments you are guaranteed a good grade.

Dr. Merritt is a great professor. She goes over what you need to learn over and over until you get it. My only regret for this class was that I did not video the presentations that we did. They were inspiring. The class was always engaged in discussions that helped to increase our understanding of exceptional student education.

Classes is great, but you NEED to read the chapters in advance. She is very particular on her assignments. there is one group presentation, 2 quizzes, mid term final, and a critical assignment. You will learn A LOT just have to do the reading.

Amazing teacher! Very very clear on what she wants you to do. I learned so much from her. She is a hard grader when it comes to writing papers ( spelling ,grammar) . She plays videos that really help you understand the type of students you will have in you class. I like the way she grades group work because you get to rate your group members .

Professor Mia is AWESOME! The book is required b/c she go over the most important info. She give extra credit and the ans. come exactly from the book. There are 2 short quizzes that is based on the info she been repeating. there is a mid term and final that is easy. she review before every quiz or exam. easy class if you pay attention.

SHES GREAT!! She gives real life example and information you'll need not only to pass but the information will stick to you. Book is mandatory but no worries you WILL PASS

Professor Merritt is an amazing person who is not afraid to share her many personal stories and truly cares whether you succeed. Her assignments and expectations are clear from day one. We were required to read every chapter, but she brings the material to life in her lectures. ESE is not my major, but Merritt's class has been my favorite so far.

She is great! You need the book because you have to read every chapter but she goes over everything in great details. If you pay attention you WILL pass . Before each lecture she goes over everything discussed so far to make sure it sticks.

This class was the best I've had this semester. This teacher really inspires her students to learn and she really knows how to be a teacher and a friend. I loved Dr. Merritt's class! Probably one of the best. She is extremely helpful. Study all of her study guides. Read the chapters because she wask questions in class. Tests are hard if you miss class and don't study the study guides. Emails you frequently.
