He is very helpful and clear to what he wants you to write. He doesn't try to pull any tricks and seems to love his job of teaching. If you want to learn alot about criticially reading and writing, take his class!!!

Micha is an excellent professor he expects mastery of hos students. Lots of homework and in class discussion. He seems easy going but under the surface he is tough. Must do the homework and keep up if you want an A.

He was an alright teacher. His class sessions were very boring all semester until about 2 weeks up until the final. I always had some caffeine ready before getting to his class and it was still boring. He teaches the subject well and if you can stay awake during class then the class is worth taking with Jendian. He stutters a lot too so watch out!

Trust and listen to Micah, he knows what he's doing. If you're willing to work hard and are comfortable with challenges, a very rewarding class.

Whoa Micah is the best english teacher i have ever had! I've learned more in this one semester than in all 4 years of high school. He is very helpful and knows what he is doing, all the homework helps prepare you for his papers. He's even pretty funny at times. I recommend him to anyone and everyone.

He did however make everyone grow in their ability to critically read and think, which translates to every other class. He will make you work hard, but it is worth it.

Keep in mind before taking his course that it will be a lot of work. Like one student quoted before, "It's a good thing you are here today because this is the most important day of the semester." Prepare for homework almost every night and also, he keeps you to the very last minutes of class (and sometimes over a few minutes).

Micah is one of the best teachers I have had in my academic career. He teaches valuable critical thinking skills. He also makes himself available for any questions you may have. You will get the most out of this class if you participate. If you are a responsible, motivated student and do all of the work you should do very well.

Before attending this class, I didn't think much about anything, or rather think critically about anything. As he promised, these skills are coming in very handy, especially during this political election. He is clear, expects a lot from you, helps you think and write with clarity, and has a quirky sense of humor. I learned a lot.

Please don't confuse being opinionated with closed mindedness. He teaches writing from an analytical standpoint versus a grammatical one. Writing is about putting clear and concise thoughts while keeping the audience in mind. I found his methods EXTREMELY useful. Take your time, rewrite and revise, and you will do fine.

Micah is an EXTREMELY helpful person. He WILL go out of his way to help you out of class even if its not related to his course. However, it is A LOT of work. Not impossible to get an A, but you have to rewrite your work to near perfection. Which is good if you actually care about becoming a good writer. if you want to improve your writing take him

Attendance is really helpful because it clarifies any questions you may have and he goes over homework. It also becomes helpfull if you engage in class. Patience is also essential.

I passed with a C but learned a great deal of writing and reading skills. Although there is a lot of difficult work that is graded harshly, he will help you in every way possible if you get stuck...

Less tedious than his 120 course. Teaches the importance of self-examination so being open-minded is a necessity. Sure, his teaching style's a little different but I haven't had another teacher - ever - help me to grow as much. If you really want to improve, I can't imagine a better class.

If you aren't looking to improve your skills don't take this class! The class is challenging, but informative! All through the course Micah gave indications of how to calculate our own grades, I knew what I needed to do to pass based on previous papers and notes on them. I learned more than from his class than from any previous English instructor.

I loved having Jendian as a teacher. If you are interested in english and want to improve your writing skills, he is the teacher for you. If you are just trying to pass an english class, then dont take his class because he is tough and gives a lot of homework. I learned a heck of a lot tho!

I learned a lot about my writing in this class. His teaching style is a little weird, and he seems a little narcissistic, but all in all he really knows what he's talking about and I feel prepared to write other papers for other classes that will actually make sense. I also like that I was able to make appointments to discuss my papers with him.

I can't believe that the one English class that finally taught me how to write was the last one i needed to take! He doesn't just tell you what to put in your essay structure wise but he tells you how to fully develop an argument. Micah is the first professor I have had who truly challenged me in English. I took a Rhetoric class of his back in 2008 and am currently enrolled in a teacher licensure program: largely due to his influence on my academic career. Without his challenging class I never would've made the decision to pursue English on a teaching level. Amazing teacher!

I took a class of his 8 years ago. yes, 8 years ago. (i think it was eng 124...) It was very challenging class, but very engaging, and what i learned from that class was helped me in my career and personal life more than ANY college course i have ever taken. seriously. he won't steer you wrong. I actually wish i could take it again as a refresher.

1. Homework is clearly explained. They basically write the essay for you 2. 4 essays. Length is reasonable. "A" is not impossible to get 3. A number of quizzes on things you already use every lecture when you do your homework. He basically gives you the answers during lecture 4. Listen. Don't procrastinate. Participate. Ask Q's. I am currently in his class, we have about 2 hours of homework after ever class meeting. It is never busy work, all of the work assigned to us is important for what we are currently working on. Right now I feel half of the class is slacking and not doing what is expected, and we can see Micah's disappointment and its sad because he cares so much.

Not to much to say, just take his class! He truly cares about his students and makes you succeed in his class. Honestly if you have too many classes, you do not even need to worry about this class.

He was the most caring teacher I ever had, although his work is tough and takes more effort than the normal class, he teaches with love for the profession. This is definitely a challenging class but the teacher was amazing. I personally have high expectations for teachers and he exceeded them. Make sure you listen to everything he says because it is all important to the class. When he says to build your foundation LISTEN you will struggle through the class if you dont. Also try not to miss any days.

This class was veryyyy challenging, i've doubted my intelligence many times. If you feel like dropping it, i'd recommend you not to. He might seem like hes giving you a really hard time but his intentions are to teach you at his very best. Great teacher, shows he cares about students individually. Texted me a year later after I dropped the class that I should retake it.

Micah really cared about his students, and setting them up for future success. Took him in spring 2025, and he constantly told us, "this class isn't about this class", and he was right. I see things now that he taught us even outside the classroom. Really nice guy, accessible, and gives good feedback.

Best professor ever. If you're the type of student who always struggled to understand how to analyze text and have a deep understanding of them, take this class. Not only did I learn for my work in the future, but there's so much of what he taught us that I'll be able to use in my personal life forever. It's hard but trust him. He's a genius!
