He's a funny guy. I really enjoyed of being in his class. He puts on his notes on Blackboard and he gives tons of extra credits. His tests are ok. Only 25 Qs but his final worths a lot of points. He tries his best to give out the extra credit to help everyone not failing his class. He tells jokes and makes the class very entertaining! He's the best

Great professor! Extremely entertaining! Puts all notes on blackboard but you still want to attend lectures to know how he works and what specifically will be on his tests.

Excellent Prof. Sexy and funny as hell. Very well educated, knows his****. If you seem not intersted he will pull you in and make you intersted. Wants to know all student and wants to make sure all students are doing well. My class was all essay's and i didn't have a problem getting an A. Had psy. of African American.

Professor McCreary is a great, and not to mention sexy professor. He is so cool!! When you come in the class you better be prepared because if you're sleepy, he'll wake you up literally! You can still easily pass his class with a B w/o coming to class bit it would benefit you more to come because he gives like 2 extra credit assignments per week!A+

He makes me want to learn...probably the best prof. around. He is smart, well mannered, funny, and crazy insane. He loves hearing from you during class and thats nice in a huge lecture hall. If you like boring classes where all you do is memerize, this class is not for you.

One of the best professors at VCU. He is very funny and wacky. One tip DO ALL OF THE EXTRA CREDIT, it was raise you grade to an A. lol and never walk out of his class because he will chase you.

He's insane and class gets pretty interesting... sometimes it's frustrating to be left in the dark since after the first week you can pretty much trash your syllabus. He definitely loves his work and he's busy with it all the time, so if you get the opportunity to meet with him outside of class, take the offer!

Easy class...never once read the textbook, did average on the test and still got an A. I did all the extra credit though which helps ALOT. He is funny and entertaining so class is not so bad.

It's an easy class and he is awesome. Very entertaining, I recommend taking his class. Show up to class though b/c he likes to play tricks on those who don't come to class, i.e take home test, extra credit. I got the A, had fun, and learned a few things. Take it.

his class was so easy. I recommend everyone to take his class. I was a bit worried that I'd have a hard time with psychology but that was the easiest class ever. Some of his quizzes are open notes. He changes his tests to take home tests. He even ended up giving an essay as a final! Dont worry, his essays are super easy!

Anyone who says he is not the coolest professor on the planet has no idea what they are talking about. He is not childish, moody, or any of that other stuff anyone says. He is absolutely amazing, the best professor I have had by FAR! His class is highly entertaining and I enjoyed every minute. I wanted to go to every class!

This class seems hard at first,but he gives you so many opportunities to make-up for bad grades. Class is fun because you NEVER know what's going to come out of his mouth or who he'll pick on in the lecture hall for sleeping or talking during class. Awesome guy. Snazzy dresser.

This class was fairly easy but you MUST go to class!!!! He gives out lots of Extra Credit, essays and assignments during class without notice. He does not stick to the syllabus so you might as well throw it away. You need your book it is extremely helpful. He is a very understanding and interesting professor. I learned lots from the class.

Brilliant mind, brilliant professor. Keeps you interested and wanting to read the text to be prepared for his lectures, but you can never really be prepared with him because he is Crazy and bizarre.(in a good way) Lots of EC.Jokes& befriends students & may embarrass them. Wonderful! The first teacher that actually uses what their students learn as a basis for everything-it's not about the grade, it's about how psychology affects you. He's simply amazing and I would reccomend him to anyone...sometimes he gets sidetracked but somehow, that makes the class less boring. WE LOVE PROFESSOR MCCREARY!

Professor McCreary is the best teacher @ VCU. very helpful and will go out of his way to explain in greater detail to help understand. Tests were a little tricky but they were all open book. Gives A LOT of EC but does it without warning so going to class is a must! Highly Recommend easy A & he's very attractive!

If you do not get an A in this class by the end of the semester, you must slacking big time. He makes the class fun so just go to class. If you go to class, guaranteed A.

you definitely could not tell that this man was 50. Attractive and intelligent. My favorite professor ever at this school. Sadly, I won't get a chance to have him again seeing as how I'm transferring. His class was fun and I even got to watch a snippet of sixth sense which I've never seen. OH WELL AWESOME TEACHER. Go to class. He gives huge amounts of extra credit to those who attend. At first you may be thrown off by his personality, but he's a great professor. Easy A if you put in the slightest amount of work. Funny as well.

Offers alot of Extra Cred. but its impossible to get unless you study before coming to class. Exams are really hard, I'm a premed and got straight A's but struggled for a C in this class. Course is def. interesting but not for you if your looking for an easy A (like I was). Work really hard & you'll be ok.

Dr. M is a great teacher! Make sure you come to class..very easy pop quizes from time to time. Dr M loves to show movies and relate psyc to pratical uses. I highly recommend him!

Realest professor around. Talks about himself a lot, but you're rarely if ever bored, encourages you to come to class with the material he teaches. He does NOT teach out of the book, he provides his material in supplement to the book, but it's not like they contradict. Dreading the first test but so many other opportunities for easy points.

GO to class, read the book (lecture is not on book stuff). He's a nice man, has a lot to offer his students. The BEST out there :)

This guy is Hilarious, the dude from the last comment got him all wrong! He canceled the 10 page paper, canceled our final exam (because he was in a good mood) and the online test is an open book test with only 15 questions! He gives out quizzes once a week, so make sure u attend that class,u wouldnt want to miss it after u attend a few times.

The guy from 3/16/09 probably didnt even go to the class...he probably missed all of them, thats why he still thinks the paper is due haha. Professor is very cool, makes a lot of jokes, and very straight farward about the materials. He even gives you the answer after the quizzes...the point is to take attendance, since there are over 200 people.

You will never get bored in this class, he is a cool guy. Only thing is that the online tests are pretty hard but i never passed any of them and still managed to get an A because everything has an equal amount of points. He always mentioned something about sex and he gives a lot of extra credit. TAKE HIM!! You'll love it!

Dr. M is really awesome. He really wants his students to succeed and doesn't make the class or material hard. He doesn't make attendance mandatory but he does give quizzes. I've missed a lot of class but I still get As on the tests. If you have to take 101 he's your man!

McCreary is definitely an interactive kind of teacher. He's full of energy and tries to make this class interesting. If you aren't looking for a challenging class take McCreary.

First off it is IMPOSSIBLE not to get an A in this class. You learn SO much. I will admit his exams are kinda difficult however end of semester he gives extra credit. Attendance is VERY important, tends to get mad when ppl dont show, mke ur face familiar to hi, itll come in handy trust me.

Great prof! Took Prof McCreary for intro Psyc. His class was very fascinating and made me want to continue learning about Psyc, hence my major is Psyc. All of his test were online & he had extra credit opportunities all of the time!

Very energetic professor. Class is not mandatory but would really help you with the grade because he gives out extra credit occasionally. I would give him a 5.5 for easiness but can't =( Very easy and fun class!

I love Dr. McCreary. Though attendance is not mandatory, if you want to get a good grade, GO TO CLASS. His one pet peeve is skipping so if he sees a drop in attendance he'll make you pay (aka missed extra credit or pop quizes.) But its not hard to go. He is knowledgeable, energetic, and full of inspiring stories. I was never disinterested!!

Tests are a bit of a challenge and somewhat confusing. If you don't do well on the tests I would recommend going to class! He gives out a lot of extra credit and VERY EASY pop quizzes to help boost your grade. I enjoyed the class, he has a completely different teaching method which was very enjoyable.

He is an actual teacher, not only does he teach psych but he gives life lessons.If you are failing psychology and can't seem to pass, this is the class for you.Quizzes are every Thursday, labs are due as well. The TA's are very helpful and will respond to the email w/n a timely fashion.Although psych is not for me, this class was fun!

LOVE this class! Easy quizzes every Thursday and the only homework we have is labs due on Thursdays. He's kind of scattered and moves a bit fast but compared to all other teachers my friends have, it is WORTH IT! TAKE THIS CLASS!!

McCreary is a fun teacher who loves what he does. Plenty of extra credit opportunity. Practically every class so don't miss class. Online labs, pretty easy just a little time consuming. Sona credits- Didn't really get the point of it but it's really easy. all tests are online. I passed with a High A. Definitely recommend him.

McCreary = AWESOME PROFESSOR. There is a ton of outside work involved, but that's unavoidable in any Psych 101 class so you should just take it with a fun professor to make it a little less painful. Easy A if you do your work on time. Come to class; he always has in class quizzes. Don't be late though...because he WILL call you out.

Tests are open book and online, unless you piss him off by consistently not showing up for class. He is very passionate and energetic, though his lectures are a little hard to follow because he zooms through the powerpoints. Sometimes he rubs me the wrong way (as he is quite narcissistic), but you can't doubt his level of passion for his field.

Best professor EVER. Impossible to fail his class. Just go to class, do the online labs, and do the sona and you WILL pass with an A. He is so into it that it MAKES you WANT to learn. It would be a mistake not to take him, it has been the greatest experience out of my 4 semesters so far at VCU. Best Professor! I love him!

Dr. McCreary was one of my favorite professors last semester. He was very interesting, homework was easy, tests were online, and if you attended every class there was no reason not to get at least a B. He was really good at teaching and, although a little crazy, very spirited.

Hands down the BEST professor I had at VCU (& I just graduated). Although he can be a bit scattered around during lecture, we learned. Definitely a must take for personality! Think outside the box. School is not always about listening to lecture, writing every word down & repeating it during an exam. Embrace him and his teaching style!

Overall, an excellent teacher. Other institutions beg him to be director but he wants to stay a teacher because of his excellent skills. VERY WILD. Stood on a table and walked on it to teach first day. Makes you think outside the box when you don't believe you can. Sometimes his chill-ness makes the class rowdy though.

In the beginning, he can be somewhat hard, but you get use to it. Later on, he's laid back. There is a lot of work though. There is SONA, weekly quizzes, and labs which take forever, and test. The class is fun. He's hyper. You learn mainly from reading the textbook. His class is more about real life applications.

Dr. McCreary has a life outside of VCU. He is a pastor and a psychologist, and he is BRILLIANT at what he does. His class can be difficult and confusing at times, because he WANTS YOU TO LEARN. If you just want standard lecture and not REAL LIFE, don't take him. If you want to learn from life and experience and have FUN learning, take him.

He is by far my favorite teacher at VCU, he does not like when people skip, go to class! plus its so interesting. He is such an intelligent man and he keeps the lectures very interesting. Definitely recommend him. Good luck.

Dr. McCreary is awesome! I took Psych 101 as an elective and I enjoyed his class a lot. There is a lot of work, but it's mandatory of all Psych 101 students regardless of professor. I didn't mind signing up for the SONA studies, they were usually easy and kinda interesting. He said in class he won't teach 101 for a while, but when he does take it!

Best teacher ever. He likes to play music before class, especially the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

I had him for both psyc 309 and 340. 340 was a little bit less intense than 309. AMAZING professor who brings tons of real life experience to the classroom. Lectures are not your ordinary. Classroom discussions are what makes his classes interesting. You will learn a lot about yourself, your peers, the professor, and the material. Must take!
