Althoug his class is hard and you'll have to put in a lot of study time, he os very dedicated and you'll learn a lot.

This class can be difficult but Professor Arminio is AWESOME. He makes the subjects he teaches very interesting. I would definately recommend this teacher, you will learn a lot.

I'm currently taking the 6-week course and have a test-a-week. He is a really smart man, and an entertaining one. I hate science, but some of the stuff he says, the way he says it, makes it interesting. The class in not easy at all, but he is a good teacher.

Professor Arminio loves to teach. You can tell he loves to teach, his is face lights up about the different subjects he teaches to his students. You will work hard for your grade, but you'll know you EARNED it. He is one cool Dude and I think he ROCKS! I wish more teachers were like him.

He is the best professor I've ever had, EVER. He should be cloned and made to teach all subjects. I had him twice, and would more than gladly have him again. He really knows his stuff and is very informative. He makes the classes a lot more interesting than what they are (come on, what's really so great about rocks and minerals? :P). His tests are a little challenging but you always know exactly what to study. He likes trick questions. ^_^

His class is actually worth taking. Quizzes like crazy, but he lets you know. Exams are easy as long as you learn your handouts notes. Bssically you have to be willing to put time;a lot of time into the class.

you cant ask for a better teacher! He is to the point, really knows his stuff, expects a lot from you but in a good and reasonable way (like learning the subject by really studying and being on time), and he has a sense of humor which brings ease to the class. All you need to do is to put effort.. this is the type of class where you actually learn!

I thought I was totally gonna hate this class, but it turned out that I really like it and I'm learning a lot. He's to the point, great prof. Lots of quizzes which help pull up the average. His way of teaching is perfect to learn the material. For the exmas just study your notes and you'll pass if you learn them. Is not hard to do good in this clas

Tis proffessor really know his material, is very helpfull and encourages the class to learn at a college level. He grades fairly and welcomes students and their questions about the subject at hand. I definitely would recommend him.

I have taken just the two first classes and I am really happy of being in the class of Prof. Arminio. I hate natural sciences; however, this class becomes really interesting and beautiful thanks to this professor.

Although science is not really my thing, this professor makes everything clear and really knows his stuff. He knows so much about the world and the oceans, it is mesmerizing! He is also extremely funny. He is not lying when he says you have to read, Just dedicate yourself and it will be fine.

Professor is very clear in his lectures. One of the most interesting science classes ive ever had. Funny, nice, down to earth guy. Always available for extra help. Very fair in grading policy. Overall easy teats if u study from handouts and notes. I really like this prof. hes the best!

Strictly military. Does not curve grades. The guy is too "smart" Picture a NASA astronaut getting ready for take off, but got caught know ing it ALL to the point where the team re-evaluted the mission and had to abort. Not psychologically ready to be an astronaut, he was sedated, blindfolded, put in a truck, and dumped off at mdc parking lot.

Yes he is a bit strict but the guy is a great professor…he knows his stuff well, and gives great notes…to pass the class with a good grade all you have to is read the notes he gives and pay attention to his lecture…Oh umm beware of his GLY 1010 lab there you have to work hard as hell ^^ lots of memorization, lots of rocks @ .@

If you are lazy or have a VERY DEMANDING Job,I would not take take him. His teaching style is awesome, but you need to read your notes and the handouts he gives you. His test are fair.Oh,don't think about cramming!!!!You should look over the notes daily.If you need help, go to his office. I learned alot from him, and I think you could too.

Whoever has gvn a bad rating dsnt take time to study. He gvs handouts and everything he goes over in class is material he puts on test. no suprises. Study and you will pass. Givs multiple vocab quizzes and drops lowest grade. Only thng i dont like is his vocab quizzes r 15 questions but vocab list has almost 50 words to look up. overall i recommend

You do have to work hard no pain no gain. I loved Arminio & I wish he would teach in all areas of science. He's extremely intelligent, made class lecture entertaining and kept our interest even after the bell had rung. I truely love his style of teaching & hope to someday be able to teach at his level. Took him for GLY1010+L. I absolutely loved his class. He is very passionate about his work and knows his stuff. This is not an easy A course. Like I said he is passionate about his work and you will have to earn your A. He gives great lecture notes and his handouts are really helpful. He has a lot of office hours and is very helpful. One of a select few memorable professors I've had at MDC. Very devoted and interested in his subject, tries to make the class interesting and humorous, teaches thoroughly with diagrams although he gives tests before he finishes teaching the chapter in class. Gives handout notes which are most if not all of the tests. 6 vocab quizzes and 6 tests are 40% and 60% of your final grade. Not too difficult if you study the handout notes. Would definitely recommend him, the only Oceanography professor.

I love professor Arminio. He is very down to Earth and filled with knowledge. You must study a lot, his tests will definitely test what you have learned. I can't wait to take another class with him. Oh, he is also very helpful and replys to emails. He is really a great human being.

This was by far one of my favorite courses at MDC. He's a wonderful professor and his teaching kept me up in the morning. His tests are a little tough because he's picky but he teaches you everything you need to know. He's funny and even a bit quirky. All in all, take the class. I'd take it again just for fun.

Extremely passionate about what he does. This is NOT an easy class that you can just procrastinate on. A LOT of material is covered. The book is important for some but most of his tests come from lectures and handouts. Vocabulary quizzes are fairly easy. I recommend using flashcards because there are a lot of words to remember. Got a B in the class because I became lazy as the end of the summer semester was coming to a close. He has a great sense of humor and makes the class fun. I RECOMMEND!!!!

Hands down one of my favorite professors out of all classes. Passionate and driven by the subject, Arminio even brought me the possibility of majoring in an Oceanography field. Class is passable, but studying is required. Pay attention in class, a lot of the material is repeated in exams. You will leave loving this class and this professor

Amazing professor! I have a new found appreciation for the ocean and marine life because of this guy. Very clear with his material, albeit it's A LOT of material but if you study hard, it will be no problem passing the course. Covers a lot of vocabulary so I suggest you purchase flash cards for easy studying. Overall, great course and great teacher

If you are late 3 times your grade dropes. For every quiz you have to memorize 50 words with definition. He only quizes you on 15. For test even worst. You have to memorize at least 5 pages double side. Its rediculous. If you are good at memorizing go ahead but if not STAY AWAY!!! YOU WILL FAIL. I ONLY GET A AND B IN MY CLASSES AND I HAVE A 3.6 GP.

I took him for earth science and now I'm finishing oceanography with him. He's a great professor who teaches his science great. He's passionate of what he does and is always available durung hs office hours and replies to e-mails fast. This course is interesting, but you got to study. Most his tests come from the handouts and lectures.

Learn to Study!!! This class was very interesting, i learned a LOT! You have to know how to study to pass this course, otherwise, don't bother taking it. If you study the right material, and read the notes he gives you, you're guaranteed to pass!

Best prefossor at Miami Dade College. I took him for the Summer Term 12' even though it was a lot of material in a short period of time he managed to cover everything so clearly! I learned so much!!He is funny and extremely intelligent! I will miss him! Take him!!! but you do have to study!

Funny guy... does not describe what he is. However, when it comes down to attendance and work he becomes very serious. Work is easy.. but he does not make it easy..makes you think. I would take him a million times more.

Best Professor to have, he's fun but when it comes to doing work he takes it very serious. the class is very easy made me change my study habits for the best. plus he prints the notes for the class and hand them out which all the test come from.

Professor Arminio is awesome. He explains topics very well, has flexible office hours for extra help, announces exams well in advance, and loves to give pop quizzes. These quizzes aren't really pop though, as he always says to expect one soon. Arminio, also, gives great advice about future schools to apply to. Overall, he is THE best.

He's the best professor ever!!! Loves to joke around, but he definitely makes you have an interest for science. Requires lots of studying, if you study you'll pass his class. If not you'll struggle.

As a person at MDC, he is the greatest. As a teacher, he is the toughest. He is very funny but his test are even funnier if you do not study. MUST put a lot of time into this class and attendance will cause you to fail if you are tardy or absent a lot. He will help you during office hours as well. Very lovable.

Honestly, my favorite professor at MDC. He's tough but he's also so sweet- don't let his biker exterior fool you.

Arminio is a competent, if not charismatic, professor. He's old school, bone-dry, and clear-cut in his teaching style; nothing flashy, there to teach not to entertain type of educator. He does care for his students, but his sense of humor is as dry as his teaching style. You will learn, but just try to take some of his comments with a grain of salt
