He is the best easy going explains thing well pretty cool guy.
Great teacher, I took him over the summer. Works with everybody in the class.
Good teacher. Loves to envolve his students when he teaches, keeps you on your toes and I learned more that way.
Ive never enjoyed going to any math class! until now! i always look forward to his class! he keeps it interesting and fun! he knows what hes doing & makes things become crystal clear! :D
very good teacher!!! he makes math very easy!!! helps you out until you understand!!! he is very funny too!! he's class is deff not boring at all!!
He is a good teacher, however don't all behind because he moves kind of fast. However, he works with you regarding making up quizzes. He's slow replying to emails (he replies the morning of class). Easy A.
This has got to be one of the best math professors at Brookhaven. I had to miss a week of class for personal reasons, but he was very understanding and worked with me as long as I was willing to do my part. I never would have thought spending my summer mornings learning math could be so much fun! Would recommend!
Mr. Bailey is a very clear and thorough professor with a good sense of humor to go with it. Math for some of us is very challending but with bailey it enjoy. Attendance is mandatory if you want to understand the subject clearer. I'm one of those that extremely hates math and can't stand the thought of it but now I enjoy it because of this professor
Mr. Bailey is a phenomenal math teacher! I have to admit that I learned so much and he made it fun. Just make sure you attend all classes, so that you dont fall behind.
Prof Bailey is really a great teacher. I took him for a summer 1 class and never before have I understood math so well. He makes sure that each student understands the material before moving on. He would even give tips while we were taking tests. Along with his very laid back attitude and random funny personal stories I would reccomend Mr. Bailey.
He is a great math teacher! He is clear on all work, back-tracks on problems (if needed), and down-to-earth! If you have a question on the homework or on tests, he will help you on the spot! I recommend this teacher!
TAKE HIS CLASS!! Best teacher ever!
Fast and clear, but willing to answer a question and not make you feel stupid for asking. I love that in a Proff
great teacher for math. we did not used the textbook due to the fact that he makes the subject easy to understand. his class it is based on what the student needs the most i do recommend for students to take this class with him.
I took College Algebra with him at El Centro West Campus. Such a good teacher! Speaking is not really his forte. At times you'll catch him falling over his words and things can start to get confusing. But other than that, I had absolutely no problems. Recommended? Definitely!!!
I would highly recommend taking his class, He is very helpful and makes class go by so fast. He is really funny and he makes math more interesting.
Great professor! He is funny and makes math interested! I recommend him to anyone!
Great professor! He explains math very interesting and clarity. Made an A for my first math class in college. Take him! I recommend
I highly recommend Mr Bailey, so much that I would follow him to a different school if need be. I had him at El Centro West. He's very helpful and willing to listen and he is extremely funny. I looked forward to going to his class and I'm not a big fan of math. If you get a chance, I encourage you to take his class.
BEST PROffesor! He is extremely helpful, Funny, and he is really concerned about his students progress in his class. If your a slow learner go with him, hell make sure u understand. if you like being a part of a fun friendly class where u dont hv to be scared to ask questions and for help please sign up for him. He is the best there is. Go mr. B!!
Professor Bailey is awesome! He explains things extremely well and is super helpful. I highly recommend him.
i am horrible at math , and his class does require a lot of work but if you are looking for a good math teacher TAKE HIM!!!as long as you do your best(attend class,do your hmwk, and study) i promiss you wont regret it ...ps- dont fall behind on your hmwk & quizez. he does not offer xtra credit.
Mr. Bailey is the BEST MATH teacher i have had thus far. He also has a awesome sense of humor. I am only repeating the course because of my own choice. And im most definitely taking him. The course is fail proof. He is the best with breaking everything down. I would totally recommend him.
What are you waiting for? Go! and take him! you will get an A
Class is 1/2 lecture, 1/2 in class homework; focus is on young students who only need refresher course. Doesn't teach EVERY step, just basics. My class avg was 70, which speaks to success of methods. Not for older students or those with dyslexia
he doesn't use book, 1/2 class is work in group; he don't care if you attend and you covers tons of stuff. Had hard time with so much so fast. not much feedback
To pass his class, write notes as he speaks and gives examples in class. The class is divided. First half includes him covering the necessary material. The other includes lab sheets to work with as a group. The points given go toward extra credit on a test. Very good instructor, funny, and passionate about what he does. He answers ?? during the lab
This class is very fast paced if you take it in the summer. He seems to take a lot of of shortcuts when teaching a lesson. He uses the book to teach but he recommended not to buy a book because the work is online. In my opinion you mostly learn through your peers during the second half of the class when you work the worksheets he gives you.
Funny passionate and helps - IF you ask him.
Great Professor. Would do all my classes with him
Very great professor who obviously takes pleasure in his job. Loves to crack jokes. As long as you go to class, do the homework online and take the tests and quizzes you should pass. If you don't understand anything, you're in a group setting to ask other questions and if not that then there are many resources at your disposal. Overall great class.
Mr. Bailey is well loved, he has a good chemistry with students due to his dry humor. However, he advances fast and offers little help during lecture; his final review for finals consisted of sitting on his desk while students worked on a practice test. If you like working on your own instead of lecture, you'll enjoy his style
Ah, Mr. Bailey. I also took plane trigonometry(Math 1316) with Mr. Bailey, and in both courses, he was always welcoming to help any student in need. He tries to make lecture fun, and he's explanations are pretty clear. Put forth effort into homework, and you'll do fine. Thanks to him, I know have a better understanding of concepts. Rock on Mr.B!!!
he is the best professor I've taken so far and the only class I failed! helpful friendly, but you need a strong background in math to be able to pass his class. and you need the my math lab online.
Best professor I have ever taken. Easy to comprehend material, excellent at explaining if you have a question and always relates material to how you can use it in life. So it is always helpful to know you may use math whenever, extra credit is easy as well i would recommend to anybody who struggles with math.
Probably one of the best professors I've ever had. He was very clear on what the concepts were and was a very easy going instructor. He was very approachable when asked for help, gave plenty of extra credit on exams, group labs helped a lot as well. The class went at a very steady pace and I overall enjoyed coming to class. 1010
So, Mr. B is really a great teacher and all but if you're looking for an EASY A.... dont take him. YOU NEED TO WORK!!!! to get an A. Otherwise, you'll end up with a B or possibly C. His quizzes on MML is pretty challenging and so are his tests. Not really a teacher to be hoping for an A.
A negative boy couldn't decide whether to go to a house party, so he decided to be square, missed out on four awesome chicks, and it was all over by two am. You will learn this mnemonic for the linear equation and many more helpful tricks from Professor Bailey. Best math teacher ever! Makes a dry subject tolerable. If you fail, it is on you.
He is a great teacher, explains stuff well, reinforces concepts with in class worksheets, and is a funny guy. Best math teacher I've ever had.
Mr. Bailey is a funny guy. He usually cracks jokes in class and makes learning the content a bit more easy to swallow. HOWEVER, he does mess up during his lectures quite often. He also makes his tests abnormally hard. His tests are usually never similar to the reviews he hands out (especially the final.) As a person, he is nice, as a prof, RUN.
He made simple lessons more complicated on the exams. His tests are extremely challenging and they do not look like anything from the homework lab quizzes or review so its hard to study for them. If you're good at math and want a challenge then take him.
Thecourse was challenging, but he has video lectures for all the classes, so this really helped. The online system was not great, but he allowed for partial credit on tests - and was very responsive to email and requests for help.
This was first online class and there were some bumps, but Professor Bailey was very fair and listened to feedback and made adjustments. Challenging course, but his video lectures online helped ALOT. Highly recommend if taking this online.
Of the online courses I've taken, this is one of the best. Most of the time, I can pretty easily point to something that's missing, but I think this course was run very well and did a good job making up for the fact that it wasn't taught in person by providing ample resources to the students
I was shocked by the level of communication between professor & students. I have taken online courses before and have never been able to call a professor, or get as fast a response as in this class.
Make sure you study, you will have to work hard to get an A.
Bailey is one of the best math professors I've had from middle school through college. He is not an easy A, but his lectures are great & he really focuses on helping his students. I started taking this course in class, but because of conflicts I had to switch to online - he was extremely flexible with my schedule. I prefer in class over online.
Never had an online professor who said CALL ME before and he talked me thru problems. He provided his own lecture videos - which teach the material, but they do it in a way that I could understand - a little slow at times, but they were at most 15 minutes - so easy to re-listen or play. BEST ONLINE COURSE EVER!!!
Professor Bailey positions his online Calculus course to be more like a clear, in person class than an often ambiguous online class. The way the class works is pretty clear - 1.) watch section lecture video/read text, 2.) complete section homework, 3.) take chapter exam, repeat. Most importantly, he's there for you and he's very, very fair.
Mike Bailey is a great guy! His online course was not easy but you learn so much from it. He is a great person to go to in regards to issues. Helpful and very easy to understand. I loved his class. I would take him again! Make sure to study!
Assigned a HUGE review before class even started - which was horrible, but he did reduce later- and it did help remind me of Calculus I stuff. The lectures were good especially when he shifted from Powerpoints to doing problems. He focused heavy on concepts - was new to me, but I actually think I understand better now - other profs just do problems
At the beginning, the class was going okay. He seemed like a decent professor. Then, once I started struggling, he became difficult to deal with. I would e-mail him questions and literally every time, he would give me 1 word answers. Absolutely no help. I failed by 2 points b/c he would not offer me any extra credit after asking him twice.
Solid professor, teaches material clearly, I lacked the algebra needed to successfully complete, dropped course, would recommend to anyone that has to endure this terrible course in the DFW area.
Couple things that were great about Professor Bailey - especially for online course: 1. He was very available - always answered emails fast and even gave out his cell phone 2. You could work ahead on material - though some of the tests were not ready as fast as Id have liked 3. His online videos - hecreated short youtube videos for every section
Professor Bailey does a great job when it comes to online classes. His assignments were very clear, he drops one one the 5 tests (not including the final), he was very good at responding to my questions (through email and test), and his lectures were very helpful. This course is hard to begin with and he made it better. I highly recommend him!
Great professor! Wasn't able to complete the course because I fell off mid semester but for the most part while I was doing this course he was very helpful and just and over all great teacher for this course! He tries to teach in a way for everyone to understand HIGHLY recommend!
Took professor Bailey's MATH1324 not knowing what 2 expect. Despite being a Mathphobe, I managed 2 get thru the course... successfully! Bailey is by far the BEST professor I have ever had. He is passionate about the subject, very patient, and his way of teaching is never boring. Course is challenging but he helps a lot & is very thorough. Very LIT
I took his online course and he was absolutely horrible. All of his instruction was videos from youtube and not helpful. His homework questions didn't match up to the book, it also took multiple emails asking to make up a test I missed from a death in the family.
His reviews are not helpful and even then he puts questions that you have never done on the exam. I dont recommend taking this course with him.
just know if you take him for calculus he make his own test not covered in class or syllabus. he said he want to test our understanding of the concept which i think does not make sense. he give 1 million end of chapter exercise to prepare for the test only nothing come from any class or homework or book examples.
VERY LAZY USE POWERPOINT IN CLASS NO DIFFERENT WITH SOMEONE TAKING THE CLASS ONLINE. GIVE USELESS REVIEW AND MAKE HIS OWN TEST OUT OF SYLLABUS . IF YOU TAKE HIM MAKE SURE YOU ARE GOOD ON MATH. ALL HE DOES WANT TO TEST YOUR UNDERSTANDING EXAM DOES NOT COME FROM HOMEWORK OR CLASSWORK
Solid professor. The course material is very clearly outlined and taught during class and he has no problems with the pacing of the class. I will say that I wasn't the biggest fan of the group homework but that's mostly on other students not doing their part rather than it being on the professor.
He is the best. Just best. You take his class, You'll get easy A.
If you think this course will be a walk in the park, you are 100% wrong. Forget about open book tests if you take it online you have to sit in front of a camera. He is fast in replying to emails and is ready to go one step farther so that you understand. You have to work hard to get a good grade. He creates his own lecture videos. 5 tests 1 final.
Prof. Bailey is by far the best professor I have yet to take. He is very easygoing and is readily available to answer any questions. Of course Bus. Calc is difficult, but I bet regular Calc is harder. People don't seem to understand that he teaches the curriculum and is not the creator of it. In other words "Don't hate the playa, hate the game."
Took online, every lecture is on youtube. Online homework required for 10% of your grade, which helped me. he drops lowest test score, possible +5 points if you read a book on tests. replies fast to emails. Overall class was CHALLENGING. he will NOT teach you everything. you will end up teaching YOURSELF. Mathlab was SUPER USEFUL. study! study!
I heard great things about Bailey from students and counselors; but some reviews scared me. Im thinking they were lazy. Awesome & funny teacher!. He gives lots of work, but hello its college). He makes a big point that we had to understand not just how to do stuff; but what it meant. That was tough, but you know it makes sense and it helped me.
I have taken online classes and what was great here is that professor made his own lecture videos. They were a bit dry, but helped me learn calculus finally (2nd attempt). Professor Bailey was always super quick to respond to email and also gave his cell phone - WAY COOL! Highly recommend, especially if math aint your thing
I took his online course, he uses WebAssign not MyMath lab. He respond your email very fast. All Tests are online but you need download Lockdown browser.
This was a TOUGH course, especially online. But professor had videos for each section, which was a big help as I could re-watch when needed. I thought his test reviews were spot on - he gives a review sheet, which lists out the things you need to know - so not sure why others whine. Toughest part was concept questions - makes you think!
Probably one of the best teachers i've ever taken. Loved his class SOOO much. He was funny and taught really well. Super wise and helpful too. Not too hard of a grader if you study well. interactive class too. Ask questions if you don't understand. vidoes were really helpful too. 5 tests, 1 final and homework (easy A)
Calculus 1 aint easy, but I LOVED this online course, because Bailey was always available (even gave us his cell phone), he has created lectures for EVERY section on youtube and all tests and things were available from the very start, so it was easy to work ahead.
Ok so this was the fifth time I took course, and last two times were with Bailey. LISTEN TO HIM when he says do the homework and get a week ahead. I finally listened to him, and cannot believe I did so well - I really didnt think I knew math. He has online lectures which are boring but short and very helpful. EXCELLENT!
Cal1 is boring, but he cracks jokes everytime. Yes, lots of HW(lab paper in class+webassign).Just do the suggested problems in the book to practice for each test, u will do fine. But, on the test there will be one concept question (he makes u think). 1multiple choice ex. credit question(need to read a story book around 60 pages)but I just guess it.
OnlineThe homework and lecturing is all done through YouTube/WebAssign which made it a very flexible class for my schedule, along with the fact that you can work at your own pace. Prof Bailey is very accessible outside of class via Text or Email and provides wonderful feedback on every exam. This Calculus 1 course definitely prepared me for 2414.
Gives you questions on the tests that he never went over, attempts to trick you. Half the time makes jokes instead of actually teaching the material he wants you to know in order to pass, most students want to learn and pass and won't use calculus again, he thinks everyone will be, in reality, they won't. Teach us what we need in order to succeed.
Calculus is hard. And I was worried by comments about teachers tests not being related; but they were totally related to what we were learning. The concept questions on tests were easier for me than some of the math; because mostly they were about interpreting what things were. He helped me via phone and I liked the video lectures. They were short!
I took this class twice. First time I didn't really do as Prof said to use chapter guide and do all homework and I didn't pass. Second time I did assigned and lots of addition recommended problems. He tests concepts too, but the chapter guide tells you all that's on test. USE IT before you even begin a chapter and you will get good grade.
This is a tough class, but its do-able. You must study at least 30 hours per week. No textbook required just access code. He has youtube videos which are a plus because you can always go back. I do not recommend the calculator its expensive and hard to use. I downloaded Mathway, which is super easy to use and helps explains as well the problem.
Ive had bad professor but never have I ever had a professor who ignored you. I got confused and he explained it I still didnt get it he just said I dont know what to tell you. Had a big issue in the testing center. Didnt care. He literally doesnt care if you reach out or ask question. Be ready to fail if math isnt your strong subject.
This is my first college level math class and I was really scared the professor Bailey has been very helpful, he has regular office hours or you can schedule time and gives you his cell phone to reach him outside of school. I currently have an 88 average and then expecting to get an A with shocks me! He's funny and he help me relax.
This is the best online class I've taken and I don't even like math. All of the assignments and tests are available day one of the course. And the prof created individual YouTube lectures for each section that go with the homework. Also gives you a chapter guy which explains exactly what you need to know and what's on the test and easy extra credit
This was my second time taking class online, and Bailey's course was way better - cause inside each homework he has a lecture video which is short but on point. I did NOT do the homework first go round. Do as bailey says - do all homework, get ahead by one week and use his study guides. ACED IT!
Best online class ever - it was tough, but all assignments and tests were available from the first day, so easy to work ahead. Also professor has videos for every section, so made it less important to have/ use book. Finally he was super available - even giving entire class his cell number. DO WHAT HE SAYS - that is extra recommended problems.
You wont learn anything from his online Youtube lectures that are relevant to the coursework or tests. Why would you use webassign for HW and ecampus for tests. Ecampus has a better HW system because it shows us how to do problems.
MATH1325 He has been the worst professor I have ever taken. His lecture power points were missing important info or wrong. In class he would just show easy problems and when it came to the homework I so confused, I had to watch the tutorials and teach my self. When a classmate asked him to solve a problem he had a hard time solving it!
Lots of homework but allowed to answer unlimited so no reason to score below a 100 for the homework portion. HW accounts for 20% of semester grade, TESTS 60%, FINAL EXAM 20%. Score 100% on all HW for every bit of points that you can get. Notes are not allowed for testing and is monitored by WebAssign/webcam. A lot of this class felt self-taught.
Not sure about bad reviews; I am not great at math; but this class was best online yet. Lectures were spot on , show up right as you begin homework. Prof told us to do all homework and some extra problems and I did. He gives good review sheets that tell you what you need to know - both concepts and techniques. I followed recommendations; got an A
I had heard good things about Bailey and wasn't disappointed. His humor is a bit off, but he cares and provides help when needed. All his lectures were also available on youtube so I could go back and review - this rocked. Also provided detailed chapter guides. Made us work in teams - hated it - many whiners who didn't help and probably failed
Tough class; but if you do what he says, you will pass. WATH his video lectures; he tells you stuff in there you need to know for tests. He tests not only math solving, but concepts. These are all in lectures and in chapter guides. Do the homework, EVERY PROBLEM even when answer is given. Also one test is dropped. Great online course.
For some reason, after every single class I was more confused. The way he explains the problems makes it seem more complicated than what it is. I pretty much had to teach myself watching YouTube videos and going to the HUB for tutoring. He goes over slides that are taken from the book and the book explains it in a difficult way in comparison to HUB
Professor uses powerpoints with examples from books and gives us all the powerpoints; so its real easy to take notes or catch up with a missed class. I HATE math and yet aced the first test with an 87. Plus he gives an extra credit on each test, which is a short reading assignment; so I got an A. He is funny and very helpful!
Calculus is hard; online is hard; but Bailey gives you three great things; 1. Online video lectures (short, boring, but good); a chapter guide (tells EXACTLY what you need to know for each test); his cell phone he's available. Im serious - do homework & use chapter guide. I failed first test (which was dropped), then used guides/ did good!
Was nervous to take class with some of the reviews; but I think some people dont realize online classes youre more on your own. Prof has online lectures - boring but they were good and if you listen he tells you concepts that are on tests. He also gives a chapter guide with key points about info you need for tests. Drops one test & x-credit
This was the best online class I've taken. All materials and assignments were available from start, so I have finished entire course one month early. Definitely listen to lectures, use chapter guides and talk to professor - he gives his cell and is very helpful. DO MANY PROBLEMS!
So this is a tough class for me, prof says for most. Prof was wonderful -always answered emails and gave us cell phone. He has lecture videos - while they are a bit boring - USE THEM. Do ALL homework. Best part was, I started out slowly and did poor on first two tests and was able to restart in another section. All hw /tests avail day 1 - get ahead
This was the best online class I have ever taken; mainly because teacher is up front - and provides good resourses - including his own video lectures; a chapter guide that tells you all you need to know, all assignments and tests are available day 1 so you can work ahead and he gave his cell phone for easier access. DO THE HOMEWORK.
i like his way of teaching, he knows his stuff. try to make the class funny... i will take him again. highly recommended. ask him if you have some problem he will help you in all ways he can. EASY A if you do all homework
Read the chapter guides before beginning and watch his videos - boring but good. Do all online homework and extra problems - paying attention to context and you will do well. THis is not an easy class, but you can get ahead - all assignments are there day 1, including the final exam - GET AHEAD
Tough course, but excellent professor. Loved the video lectures he made - only about 15 minutes and really explained topics good. I also liked that all assignments were available day 1, so you could work ahead. I finished a week early. Do use the chapter guides and watch videos. Tests were all online as was final exam. Also gives cell # - cool!
Great professor for online - he provides his cell & responds quickly. He made video lectures, these helped alot, so I only used text for reference when needed, I take alot of online, normally only two tests(midterm and final) but this course had 5 tests - which I think helped as it was less material to study each time. Also loved self pace!
Second time taking, but first with bailey. Tough course, but having lectures videos helped alot. His tests were somewhat tricky - read the chapter guides this helps. And rewatch videos when reviewing you can tell what he thinks is important to know - and this was on tests. Also do the homework 20% of grade and needed for test success.
This class was the 2nd one. I like his teaching because he connected the mathematical knowledge with the world. If you want to learn, be prepared to work hard, as he say "practice make to master". He combines philosophical readings with his teachings. He invites you to participate in a team with your peers, were you really learn & make friends.
Prof. Bailey is really really understanding, and it seriously helps that the entire course is open from the beginning. I took Calc I online over half a semester, and as long as you stay focused and communicate any issues, you'll get an A. Watch the chapter videos, and be able to replicate the application problems for the optimization lesson.
Good lecture videos (short and important info for tests) and all course is available immediately so I was able to finish 3 weeks early. Also offers easy extra credit for reading a fun simple book - DO IT - 5 easy points on test and reading was light. Also responded quickly, sometimes by phone and text,
BEST ONLINE CLASS I HAVE TAKEN. Prof opened class one week early and everything is there day 1. He recommended staying ahead by a week, and I did this and finished early - even final. Watch his video lectures, do ALL problems, use study plan tests in WebAssign and stay ahead. ALso gave us Whatsapp and quick to respond
For online MATH1325 be prepared to do all of the online webassign homework, be confused on some of the answers and then go blindly into an exam only to find you know 70-80% at best typically. Tests are lockdown browser and webcam recorded nothing except 2 blank pieces of paper and TI83/84 calculator allowed. Pray you pass, I made it through.
The class was awesome because I could do as many lessons as I want at a given time. The professors youtube lectures could be sped up to wear each one only took 20 minutes if you worked out the examples yourself. We got to read this really great book across the course and received extra credit! You can also get a week extension on any homework!
Professor Bailey makes a very clear structure on this course. From the Syllabus, assignments to test folder, you just need to follow his instructions step by step. Easily but with good discipline, the hard course will be easily studied and the knowledge will be thoroughly digested.
This class was hard, but it as well organized - lectures show up on each homework assignment. Be careful if you take in summer, it goes fast!!! Bailey was available always by text or call, even on weekends. DO ALL THE HOMEWORK, this is the key. He also provides Test Guides for each chapter which are good. And do the extra credit it helps
Tough class, but video lectures are key to success as is homework. Prof gave cell phone and did tutoring over phone which was awesome. HATE MATH and did well. Do ALL homework - you get 10 tries per problem. And read extra credit books - EASY READ and helps tests scores!!!!
Best online class I've taken. Can work at your own pace, I finished two weeks early. Easy to follow, watch professors lectures, do all homework, use study guides and take tests. Professor is best reached by phone or text but is very available. First A I ever got in math, but not because it was easy.
I failed his class several times, but kept taking him because he has the best teaching style I'd ever seen and eventually passed. I can't do math, and kept taking this with hard classes. He has patience for the ADHD, makes class fun, always available, and knows what he's doing. It's a tough class, but he manages to make it fun and rewarding.
Had this professor for 1325 an online class. 5 exams and 1 final. He dropped the lowest exam. 2 or 3 homework every week. His grading criteria is good. He gives points for trying and closest answers. And the homework are very easy. The practice homework is basically the exam.
Calculus is tough, took this twice, but this prof and online class was awesome. First whole course is open day 1, can work ahead at your own pace - helped me alot. Second short prof essor videos for each section that you can rewatch with examples. There are chapter guides that tell you what you need to know for each test. Use all and do all hw
I was worried reading some reviews but this was EASY COURSE if you just watch his videos - which are short and right in the homework, do the homework, and read the easy extra credit book. The whole course including final is there from the start so you can go at your own pace. It is also all online - even tests, you do need a webcam - $12 Walmart
If you said I could get a B in calculus during wintermester, I would have asked you if you are crazy! Bailey has a well designed course, when you click on homework, a video lecture appears - it is thorough and short and helps you do the homework, and also learn what you need for tests. DO THE HOMEWORK, WATCH THE VIDEOS, GET AHEAD. bailey rocks!
Great professor! Took him for a wintermester class so everything was sped up. Really get on top of your work youll have 1 or 2 homework a week and a test every week (5 total) and the final. Pay attention to the test reviews and watch homework videos they really do help!
Very nice guy and willing to help. Mr. Bailey has many options to get in contact outside of class. The class itself is hard but, he doesn't try to make it even harder.
I took this class online so I don't know how he teaches, but let me tell you, DONT TAKE HIS CLASS ONLINE. You have a lot of homework to do which isn't a problem. Everything is SELF TAUGHT. His youtube lectures only cover the basics of the chapters. Tests are extremely challenging and attempts to trick you. You have to put hours to pass.
I took him for business calculus after previously failing the course. When I took it with him he made the course a lot more digestible than my previous professor. The class was definitely difficulty but he taught the course exceptionally.
Professor Bailey is an amazing professor. He uses analogy how math relates to life. I do recommend taking his class if you only are planning to take one course or have one easy class. There are five exams (drops the lowest grade) final and tons of homework. As long you do your homework, watch his lecture online. Anything is possible just work hard.
Professor Bailey was a great teacher!! I'm not necessarily gifted in Math, but his lecture videos and immediate feedback made the course so much easier to understand. In order to do well in the class you have to do all of the homework! Stay ahead, and if you can, do most or all of the textbook problems. It's very difficult but not impossible!
Professor Bailey has all of his lectures available on YouTube so it is really easy to follow along. This is a hard class and it can be confusing sometimes so before taking a test make sure to do the Practice test to make sure you know what is going on. Your lowest test score is dropped but make sure you don't just rely on that.
Took this online, I do believe it's possible to get an A in the class, but because it's so fast paced, the last test and final (that you take back to back with no actual time to focus on studying for you final) will 100% break your grade. I had an A all up until the last 2 days because of this ridiculous scheduling, so make sure you're preparing.
I 100% recommend Prof Bailey. He is very easy-going. He's straight to the point. I just took his Calculus 1325 online for Summer II and there was alot of homework but thats because its a three month class crammed into one, so I get it. The chapter exams are in Ecampus with Lockdown browser. The final is too. Very doable & he's very accessible.
His online test questions are not similar to the test reviews or what he teaches. He does give 1 question (5 points) extra credit for each tests, but the question is very irrelevant, its about a book which he reads and it is quite impossible to answer the question he gives you. The class/ test are pretty hard , one of my friends had to take it twice
I took Professor Bailey for Calculus I online and as long as you stuck to his provided schedule it was very manageable. No textbook reading, just watch the lecture videos and do the homework and you'll be fine. He gives extra points on the tests if you email him with reason on why you deserve it. Overall understanding and a good teacher.
Math is not my strongest subject, so having to take Calculus online (due to the pandemic) was worrisome for me. Fortunately for me, things turned out ok. What worked for me - do all the homework and use outside sources such as Youtube. The professor also provides video lectures for each chapter/section. Good grades are possible in this class.
He records the exams which I actually hate because of privacy issues. He used lectures recorded along time ago so it isn't live. The homework and tests are very different. I had to use other resources to study and get an A. Calculus should be an easy class, but this professor isn't it for me. Very little extra credit, drops lowest test score. Myeh.
Pros- -Homework due at the end of the course - Allows retakes on quizzes/tests depending on your situation -Will drop your lowest grade for your quiz and homework. -Lots of email reminders for certain things coming up Cons- -You need to be ahead of schedule in order to be prepared for the final. There is a unit test two days before the final.
When I had technical issues, professor bailey would be there to help whether it be to extend the deadline or reopen an assignment due to technical issues. SInce everything is online, he sent weekly reminders about assignments so students wouldn't forget.
At the beginning of the semester, this class can be challenging but remember you have five months to complete this course. I was struggling for the first two months, but Mr. Bailey would always send motivational messages every week. That helped me. It took me four tries to pass pre-cal but I passed calculus in one attempt. A true educator! MATH1325
I took his Mathematics for Business & Social Sciences class. Considering that Professor Bailey is a tough math professor who wants his students to be successful and to be financially savvy with money management, I believe he's a great professor. I highly recommend this math course, especially for those who are looking into finance and banking.
Good class
What a difference a good teacher makes. This is my second time taking trigonometry and Bailey made it really easy to understand the topics This was classroom class but Bailey had all of the lectures online available to us as well. The tests weren't easy but teaching was great as was his work & life stories. Don't get behind and do all the homework!
It's a calculus class so expect ton of homework. 52 hw and 5 tests, and 1 cumulative final. Tests are on respondus (webcam).Test are above avg in difficulty. If you know the content well, you will get an A.He is helpful if you need help with a question. Tho, be ready to learn from youtube. Best part: unlimited attempts on hw, and deadline extension
This is a tough course, but Bailey's lectures follow the book, explain things well and are embedded at the top of each homework assignment, so easy to find/ use. Watch the video and pause it and try the problems as he says - this makes a huge difference. I learned that from my test #1. Also DONT procrastinate...hard to get caught up. Gives his cell
This class was the hardest I've taken, but professor has video lectures that follow books and are helpful, especially since embedded in homework. Tough tests were, but with a grade curve - saved me. Professor does this the first few times he teaches a course to get difficulty level right. Very available to help in person, video and even by text.
Professor lectures and other videos were really good. Lots of homework problems - about 20 per section - but this is key to success. Entire class was available day 1, professor advises to get ahead - and I did and this really helped. Answered calls and email quickly - and met me to help understand problems. Great professor - wish I took in person
Calculus is difficult. This is a very challenging class, especially in 8 weeks, but Professor Bailey does everything he can to put his students in a position to succeed. His lectures are great and he gives a clear, effective plan for the class. If you work hard you'll be okay, and you'll learn a lot! Truly the best math professor I have ever had.
This was a tough class, but Bailey has a lecture video for each section and a lot of more video resources. All assignments, even tests are available day 1 and he suggests you get 3 - 7 days ahead....DO IT! It was a game changer. Best online class I have had. He responded quick to emails and set up video conferences when I needed,
This was the toughest course I have taken and in a short term - 8 weeks. Professor warned us a month ahead of class and allowed us to begin a week early. He told us to get a few days ahead, which I didn't do until after first test. Great lectures & lots of advice on how to succeed. Take this professor's course, you wont regret it. Do the homework!
I am currently wrapping up Professor Bailey's Calculus 2 wintermester course (online). Professor Bailey's course is very well organized, and it is designed to help you succeed if that is your goal. Some may say this course is tough (especially in 4 weeks), but if you are truly willing to learn and grow, Professor Bailey's course is for you.
I read others reviews here and took the 8 week course in MATH 1325 which was though and homework heavy. Had about 6 total exams, but managed okay. Lectures are good, but the communication was even better, you can tell this professor loves what he does and he does it well. I recommend his class if you struggle with Math, just do the work.
This professor is awesome! Professor Bailey gives amazing lectures and is very caring. He is more of a friend than just a regular professor. Studying is a must and lots of homework (but easy deadlines) quizzes and tests are many but professor bailey prepares you very well and gives you many resources.
Heavy assignment and heavy test for short term class
Great professor, hard course. Recommend you have 5 hours everyday to study math. Grades are mainly on test but you will see some question coming out of the HW.
Professor Bailey's Math 2414 class is challenging but rewarding. The lectures and textbook are helpful, and tools like unstuck ai can make studying more efficient. Staying on top of the work is key to success.
yo chat, hes a rlly good professor but it u fall behind ur cooked buddy, he has new topics each class day where it is difficult to catch up if u fall behind. lots of homework assignments but at least u get a funny professor in return.
The questions in the exam review were quite different from those on the actual exam, which made it tough to succeed in each chapter test.
Professor Bailey is a great guy, but his class is tough. The homework is very time-consuming, and tests make up a large portion of the final grade. If you fall behind, it's difficult to catch up. I had to drop the class because it demanded more time than my other three combined. However, he's a really kind and approachable professor.
He teaches us and challenges us without challenging our grades. He will help you if you ask for help, and he wants to see you succeed. If you got a bad test grade but had partial answer you can talk to him and see if he can give you partial credit. Overall great professor.
