Mr. Baker is the best professor I've ever had. You must attend his class and take notes to pass test but he gives you all the information you need to know for you test. Plus, he gives you a study guide for every test and extra credit is avaliable for every test. Take him for psych and you wont be dissapointed!

If you are looking for a psych prof, DEFINITELY take Dr. Baker. Although it is a large class, he is so helpful and does everything that he can to make sure that his students succeed in the class and he really does care if his students do well in his classes. He also gives you all the notes you need for class so be smart about it and go to class.

Fantastic teacher!! This has by far been my favorite teacher and class at ECU. Dr. Baker is very clear when he tells you what information you need to know for his exams. He doesn't distribute power-points; however, if you attend class regularly and copy his slides then you should do fairly well. In fact.. just go to class and don't buy the book.

Great professor, he may be boring at some times but he try his best to keep the class entertain with all his video's and his explanation of things. This class is not hard or easy but if you apply yourself you should get through with ease.

Great Teacher! Class is set up in lecture, and his power points go over each chapter thoroughly. Attendance isn't mandatory. You don't necessary have to have the textbook, but I recommend it for when studying for tests. There are more tests than normal, all multiple choice but if you pay attention and use the study guide you should do fine!

He talks on the personality psyc domains. Copy ppt notes you'll need the info for tests. He tests straight off the study guides. He speaks on relevant topics. It was enjoying to go to his lectures. He has occasional videos to bolster his powerpoints. There is occasional comedy intertwined within the lectures. Great Professor.

Grades are checked and submitted onto blackboard in a timely manner. Most of the time you only have to wait a couple hours for a grade which is great.

Very enjoyable class. Not difficult at all. Your grade comes from 3 tests and the final exam. So you must be able to perform well on the tests. Taking notes on the computer is helpful when making the study guide. All questions are based on his study guide. He gives lots of examples on concepts and expects you to know the for the test. Material is difficult but he gives you an example for EVERYTHING. Very realistic with student expectations so as long as you show up interested and aren't afraid to ask questions, it'll go a long way with him. DON'T HESITATE ON STARTING THE PAPER! I'll be honest, I missed a lot more class than I should have because I had 8 am's every single day and after awhile it started to wear on me. But his class was great. If you participate in class and show an interest he will work with you on necessary absences that occur when quiz passwords are given out, etc. He is extremely helpful, his tests are fair, and if you show up to class you honestly don't have to crack a book to get a good grade (takes a little more studying)

Best psych teacher (social psych) I have had in America/Australia. He always replies to emails within an hour and welcomes questions. Only dislike about the class was the final exam 50 multiple choice and 50 fill in the answers, otherwise great class. Funny teacher, content not that hard and 4exams for the class. The book is also worth buying.

Getting the notes from class helps on the exams. Final exam scared me because half of it is fill in the blank/short answer but I did better than I thought I would and he gives really good study guides. Final grade was a B and I would recommend this class with this teacher.

Very nice and funny. He tries to relate the material to situations that college kids will understand, attendance isn't mandatory but theres a few random attendance days and his study guides are very helpful. I really enjoyed him as a teacher and would definitely take him for psychology 1000.

He's a great professor, I really enjoyed the class & he is always enthusiastic about what he's teaching & always gives good examples to help you remember the material. If you need to take this class I would take him! You don't need to come to class for attendance but it makes it easier I you do and the quizzes are password protected

I think Dr. Baker is a great teacher. His powerpoints are clear and easy to understand. Make sure to write down all examples he provides as well as information on all of the experiments talked about in class. Study guides come directly from exams. Dr. Baker is very articulate and clear, and he makes it blatantly obvious what is going to be on the tests. Just go to class and print off the study guides ahead of time, and an A will come fairly easily in his class, especially with quizzes and papers to boost up your grade.

Dr. Baker is one of the better professors that I have taken at ECU, which is saying a lot, considering I am a senior. Not only does he know his stuff, but he makes it easy for you to understand. I only wish I had taken him earlier in my undergrad, it would have been great to see what he does with a full- semester-style class.

BEST TEACHER EVER. he does read off the slides but i liked that. everything was clear and easy to understand. i passed the class just by using notes in class even though he asks you to read. he does such a good job teaching you dont have to except it makes the online quizes a bit easier. best teacher made the class great, take!

This class was extremely easy. He tries to make the class interesting and his lectures are easy to follow. All the exams are based off the notes given in class and the studyguides. You need the book for the online quizzes to answer some questions and he also drops the lowest quiz grade. Overall I would recommend him to any student.

Research Methods can seem very daunting before taking it, but honestly Dr. Baker makes it incredibly easy and interesting. If you do the study guide and understand everything in it you will almost certainly get an A on the exams. He gives you opportunities to do parts of the proposal during the semester and gives great feedback on it. Awesome guy.

Dr, baker is a FANTASTIC educator. He's fair, non-biased, and his quizzes and exams are a TRUE reflection of class lecture and text material. He doesn't blindside his students with material taken from course material from OTHER psych classes from OTHER universities, where the course content may be similar, but the focus is different.

If you miss class for an unexcused reason you will miss all the lecture notes and he will not send them to you. These notes are very important for tests. He reads off of the powerpoints, can go off on tangents about personal stories, if you don't attend class it's challenging to pass the tests. Final exam is fill in the blanks, so STUDY.

I loved his online class this summer. I definitely learned a lot. I would definitely recommend pairing the TB with the course with how he refers to it and how it's paired. He did provide study guides which were super useful and I would DEFINITELY recommend. Also he responds to emails very quickly and sent lots of emails to keep us updated.

Fun lectures, talks the whole time and class goes by like a breeze if you are paying good attention and taking notes. His lecture slides are very informational, and he is kind and caring. He tries his best to engage the class. He has open note tests (3+final) and reflective chapter assignments but does not grade hard and gives great feedback in case you misunderstand a topic.

Professor Baker is the best professor I've had at this school... He is one of the most respected professors at the university. I presented him with an issue, and he came to the rescue and offered graceful extensions. He is entertaining and genuinely cares about the successes of his students. His exams are breezy tooo if you know the material!! ^_^

prof baker was awesome! there were 4 tests including the final, and one homework assignment every week. as long as you pay attention to lectures/take notes, the tests are super easy.

I took psych of personality as an elective and LOVED his class. If you use his study guides before the exams, you'll get an A. They're very clear on what you need to know. Homework assignments are also all fairly easy and open note. 10/10 professor and class, highly recommend taking. Attendance also not mandatory.
