Mr. Barkey is an awesome teacher. You learn alot in anatomy and you will get A or B if you study or just come to class. He gives extra credit. Highly reccomended and very helpful. One of the best!

I have taken him for Anatomy 1 and 2. It is a tough course but he is very helpfull. I would take him again if he was teaching another class that I needed. Well worth the drive to Kent campus.

Very easy to learn from, no surprises. His lectures a very repetitious, so they can get boring, but if you hear/say something enough eventually is sinks in. Test and quiz material is always reviewed before hand. Beware! He does however remind you of Ben Stine.

I can't see why people say that this class is hard. He gives out handouts and the same questions are on the test. If studying is done, there should not be a problem in passing. As far as boredom in his class go, if you're interested in the subject and information, boredom should not be a factor.

I am glad to see another rater noticed this instructor's partiality to pretty young girls. Its true, he does, I noticed this right away! However his teaching is good, gives out helpful study guides prior to each test, this enhances the learning process. His dry sense of humor is fun, if you like dry humor.

Mr. Barkey is a great professor and a very nice man. He is always willing to help a student but you have to do your part too and study. There is a lot of material to cover so I wouldn't take a lot of other classes with this one. But deffinatly take him if you need an A&P class. Loved Loved Loved him. Barkey is the greatest professor in the entire science dept at Kent campus!!! He is always there to help you and except for the 1st test he gives out worksheets and as long as you know the sheets you will get a A on the test!! Take it from me I never once read the book and I missed a couple classes but I still ended up with a A++.... TAKE BARKEY!

I love prof Barkey!! He is very nice and always is willing to help out and really wants all his students to do well- even drops the lowest exam grade (1 out of 5). It's a lot of material to cover in general- so you will need to study no matter what teacher you get- but he is very nice, laid back, and helpful! I ened up with an A in the class.

Professor Barkey is a very caring and helpful. He is very flexible and understand that sometimes in life things get rough and gives you chance to redeem yourself. He expects the best out you and encourages you that you can do. He makes it clear that this is class is easy only if you put your all in it and makes sense of what you are doing.

When a student can say they still remember things taught from the very first test...that tells you something. He has such a way of teaching that you can't help but retain it. Quite simply he understands the art of teaching. My advice is don't wait until your doing poorly to get help from him outside of class.

Print out and study everything he puts on blackboard and do the worksheets and practice those and you will pass his class FOR SURE!

This class is hard but this professor makes it easier. He gives study sheets and the question on the test are exactly the same. It cant get any easier than this for a take home worksheet he even gives you a page reference guide so again giving you the answer if dont pass this class with him is because you didnt do your part studying. take hin

Prof. Barkey is an awesome teacher. His handouts are helpful, he puts the information from his lectures on Blackboard as well as some other study materials. I probably cracked open my book a few times. He also reviews prior to quizzes, which is very helpful. He does not always teach A&P II (on an as needed basis).

Very good professor. Made learning fun and gave detailed info regarding chapters. Tests were based on handouts he gave and the Blackboard powerpoint presentations. I really enjoyed attending classes.

He makes sure that everyone understands the material, and even if you don't, he will review it with you. He goes over everything before the quizzes and tests which is very helpful. IF YOU WANT TO PASS READ THIS! Make sure you go to class. He'll tell you that attendance isn't mandatory, but if you need to learn the material, be there every class! He explains it better than anyone else does, you'll miss out if you don't come! Also, do the worksheets and study the outlines! They ARE the test! TAKE HIS CLASS! You'll pass!!

He's a nice guy. Make sure you study because the tests and lab practicals make up the bulk of your grade. Tests were pretty hard (in my opinion). Class can be boring, but pay attention because you might miss something. If you're looking for an easy A, don't take him! But you WILL learn!

I got Cs on almost every test, and the ones I didn't get Cs on, I got Ds. What helped my grade were the lab practicals. I got As on all of them. Make sure you try to study though, because the tests can be tricky. I ended up getting a B in his class though! BTW, he's not monotone. And he's nice and kind of funny... in his own way.

I really like professor barkey, the lab practicals and tests are pretty much verbatim to his worksheets on blackboard. Attendance isn't mandatory, but i recommend going because (you have to listen close) but he'll slip in a "and when i ask you on the test" in his lecture, he's not kidding. unfortunatly, he's not the type to let you out early :(

Pro. Barkey is a great teacher!! I am enrolled in his class now...we are giving study giudes before a test and long as you do them you will do fine on the tests. He truly wants all of his students to pass!! His voice is kinda boring but it will be all well worth it in the end. Labs are a breeze!! TAKE HIM!!

I took A&P I & II with this Professor. He is a very good professor that cares about his students and their success. He is monotone, but what teacher allows you to retake test until you get a passing or higher grade. He gives you study guides and if you complete them you will pass. This professor is beyond the best professor i've ever had. If you need additional help, stay a little after class he will help you until you completely understand. Everything on the test is on the study guide. He will cover everything for you before a test. It's not an easy class but with studying, you can pass. TAKE! TAKE! TAKE!

He stayed after class for an hour once just so I could look over the models and prepare for a lab test, which is helpful since I'm a hands on learner. Don't let him scare you, he's actually nice to you if you're a good student. Just do your work and study hard and pay attention! Write down everything he puts on the board, his notes are very helpful

Multiple choice, matching, and fill in the blank. There are no diagrams on his tests, only on lab tests. Tests are 50-100 q each. About 5-6 tests. You can do well if you study. There are much harder teachers at fscj that give essay tests. Come to every lab, you need the points. Also you can make up lab tests that you may of failed, at the end.

People don't like him because they are lazy. He was actually a really funny man, and VERY helpful. He's very smart. He liked me because i was a hard worker. If you aren't, then he wont give you much interest,as it should be.

Hes very slow, but awesome with a qwirky sense of humor. You will want to skip lecture days. Tests are easy if you study the study guide. VERY helpful. Prepare to be hands on. The only thing he grades is the tests. HES A GREAT GUY and is dedicated to class so no getting out early!

I'm taking Dr. Barkey now. He does seem a bit monotoned, but I think it's his sense of humor and laid back attitude. We must have a really good class, because we all enjoy him - at least those of us that participate. He doesn't talk down to you - he just holds you accountable for what you don't know and aren't doing to better yourselves.

Dr. Barkey is AWESOME! Gives study guides w/answers for tests/labs. A's & 1 B for me; "B"cause I didn't use the study guide. State final is a BEAST. I got 2nd highest final exam grade with an 80; PREPARE! When he says "will be on the test," IT WILL BE! He is deadpan funny & cracks me up! Ppl just don't get it. Attend lecture; take GOOD notes!

His lectures are long but he states "This will be on the test" He's willing to help you pass. I took this summer class, attendance and participation is a part of your grade. You must show up to every class for his unconventional lecture, this will earn you some bonus at the end. Read my lips, when he said "that will be on the exam," it will be on the exam, so start writing. He's pretty funny but it's anatomy, class can feel a bit too long. Lab practice days are very helpful toward the actual lab exams. Good luck :)

Prof. Barkey has an unusual lecture style. He is difficult to follow. However, he gave all the info for the written and lab exams. This was unknown to me, not taking him for A&P 1. If he says its on the test it will be. Read all the study guides, fill in HW and PP slides. AP-2 is not easy but he wants you to understand will help.

I WAS VERY NERVOUS ABOUT TAKING THIS CLASS. HIS STYLE OF LECTURE IS LITTLE DIFFERENT BUT AS LONG AS YOU SHOW UP, TAKE NOTES, PARTICIPATE, AND HE SEES THAT YOUR TRYING, HE WILL HELP YOU IN ANY WAS POSSIBLE. I WOULD TAKE HIM AGAIN IF I HAD THE CHANCE.

This class was a fair class, Professor Barkey gives you EVERYTHING you need to pass the class its up to you on weather or not you want to take the time to study. Its more self teaching than anything but what is on the study guide is on the test, study the material get a good grade, This class is honestly up to you on what grade you make.

I took Professor Barkey for both AP I & II, and I highly recommend him. He provides study guides for each exam as well as extra credit. Very minimal homework. If you show that you care about the class he will work with you to help you succeed. (His speech can be monotone, but you'll learn to like it.. he's funny.)

Professor Barkey provides everything you need in order to succeed in his class. Study the lecture notes and the study guides and you will do great. He emphasizes everything that's going to be on the tests. There's no homework and the only grades you receive are from tests. I don't think anything could prepare you for that final exam though!

Easy A. He gives study guides. Know the study guides easy A. Not sure how you cannot get an A. Labs are straight forward he gives you more than enough information to get an A.

We had 5 exam and 4 lab quizzes, he gives study guides and practice exams as well, if you go to class and review the study guides specially the practice exam you will pass the class.

He gives you everything you need to pass the class, from notes for every chapter, practice exams, study guides with answers, assignments, and list of need to know for exams and lab exams. All you have to do is show up for class(get that extra credit) do assignments and study/memorize. He is extremely accommodating to his student is insane.

Dr. Barkey, is an amazing professor, so glad I took his class. I was so terrified of Anatomy saved it for very last however, I am so grateful for Dr.B he is willing to work with you in due dates and times. No DBs, 5 exams 1 final, 3 labs and one video with a lab report. Very easy and wonderful class so glad I chose him and Im taking next term!

I took Dr.B for A&P1/2, both classes were online because of Covid. BSC2086c consists of 3 Labs, 5 written exams, weekly written assignments (gone over in class) one final exam and two video lab reports; you watch the videos on YouTube then do the reports. Hes willing to work with you in late work and very lenient as long as you try!

IT WAS TRULY A PLEASURE TAKING THIS CLASS WITH PRO. P. HE WANTS EVERYONE TO PASS AND IT IS SLIGHTLY DIFFICULT BUT VERY MUCH SO DO ABLE.I RECOMMEND HIS CLASS 100%.

I loved having Barkey for A+P 1!He is fairly test heavy, however, if you want to do well in his class you can. He gives you everything you need to be successful and he really cares about his students. He offers retakes on exams if you do not pass it. I 100% recommend taking him! Took him as a hybrid. 7 exams. 100 points each. Prof. Barkey is a very knowledgeable guy, he is funny too. Lectures are hard to follow. But you don't really need to listen in this class. Lab test and written test are all multiple choice and all material is available online. Memorize them and its an Easy A.

He takes awhile to warm up to but he is a great professor and cares for his students. He gives you all the materials that you will need to pass his class and everything given will be on the test. There are about 6 exams and 3 lab tests. It seems like a lot but it really isn't if you show up for class. He allows retakes, make ups and takes late work

This class is fairly easy. Just pay attention during the lectures because he tells you specifically what will be on the tests. If you volunteer to do things, he'll give you extra credit points. I do know that he helps his favorite students during tests which I think is unfair. But he is a good teacher. The tests are just basic facts about the topic

Don't let the bad reviews stop you from taking his class. He makes it so easy to get an A in his class. He is test heavy and your grade basically relies on your test scores, but you should be getting close to an 100 on every test. They are very easy. Just make a quizlet of all of the study guides he gives for each test and you will be fine.

A&P1 kicked my butt so hard that I was extremely nervous for A&P2. Professor Barkey is amazing at lecture and simplifying the material for better understanding. Everything is on paper; no work is done on the computer. He gives study guides and reviews them in class to ensure everyone understands. He is very accommodating & I understand A&P now!

This professor is amazing. I had to retake hum ap 1 because I got a b in it the first time and I needed an A. He has his own sense of humor and he sounds like Jerry Seinfeld! He is a great professor! He does interactive lectures so it's easy to gain the information! He does lecture sort of fast so make sure you're locked in and don't be afraid to ask for help around you. As long as the study the handouts it's no reason to fail the class.
