very very nice man, dont expect alot at all, assigned maybe 3 essays ( 2pages each), and one midterm ( very easy gave a review sheet), also watch movies in class, and 1 final paper 7 pages but hes an easy A , ( no books or anytrhing ) deff reccomend him!

Batson is an excellent Professor. He created a stimulating learning environment.

Had him for the first winter class at csi i can honestly say he is very good professor.His lectures are straight foward and cover mostly societal aspects of history.He also likes to use videos in his lectures which makes the class even more interesting.You do writting asignments in the class as well as outside though not that difficult.

Made history interesting, very clear and informative notes. Gave a couple of essays that were very easy and the review for the test is the test. Made it very easy to pass the class and was teaching at the same time. GREAT PROFESSOR!!! if you get a chance to take him do it you won't regret it.

Excellent instructor. Used practically every tool available to teach. He used videos, lecture, discussion, and music. Also exams are good, uses essays and identificaitons. A lot of reading and writing, but increased greatly my knowledge of colonial history.

I would highly recommend Professor Batson. He covered material well, and was able to give constructive criticism in a kind way. Alot of reading and writing but, worth it. I would take another class of his in the future if I could.

oh i loved him, he was very helpfull. tells exacty on syllabus how he will garde you. amazing person. this class he graded on exams mostly. i passed his class with A and i was absent alot. do take him for sure if you are a good student you will get an A.

Great teacher! Very polite, personable, and passionate. Join in your ideas and opinions during class. He really appreciates it. Your grade is truly up to you in this class. He gives you all of the details you need to earn an A, you just have to put forth a reasonable amount of effort...and he's a cutie pie, too.

Professor was excellent. Tough with assignments, but if you apply yourself and show interest you will do great. I received a 102 overall in the class. Midterm and Final are in Essay form. Quite a bit of writing - papers, he does check grammer!

Class was diverse and easy, lecture, movies, easy tests, I took it in the summer what an easy A. He was a really nice guy and I believe everyone got an A, he would have gave an A to a foreigner who could not speak english, as long as he could recite the pledge of allegience. LOL> GREAT PROF. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.

very laid-back understanding guy...what him and i have in common is that we both started college late...i was late alot but he understood all the hours i worked durin the week...there is alot of writing assignments and his tests are essay format...he writes alotta notes

He's very in-depth with his subject and relates it to the students well, with appropriate videos, slides and music. He brings up comparisons with what we go over in class and what's going on in the world today, which makes you think. Very, very nice guy, would recommend for anyone to take.

Took this professor during the first summer session...the class went by very quickly...he usually let us out early and the class was mostly based on films...he gave a review before every exam and his exams were very easy...he made the subject very interesting...I highly recommend this professor...you will have a fun and quick summer session!!!!!!!!

Great Professor so sweet, and kind. He makes the class so interesting and fun the time just flys by. he lets you out early and is willing to talk after class if needed. his tests are in essay format but not hard.

I think he allowed 2 absences or something like that and I was absent maybe 3 times and I missed some of the work and then he allowed me to do it and I made it up and he said he would give me a grade and then in the end he gave me a INC and I didn't understand why!! and then I tried to contact him to complete the work and he never replied..AUGH!

batson was a great, interesting professor. if you look like youre trying to learn and actually do the work, it is highly possible that you will get an A.

Best Professor ever!!!!!! He explains everything so well. I took his CORE 100 class this past winter and I got an A. Since I loved his teaching so much, I took his Women's historty class this semester.

This is one of the best history classes that I've ever taken. Two years after taking it I still remember most of the material. The lectures and textbooks were interesting with plenty of visual aids. The exams are easy if you study. Prof. Batson is nice and helpful. Overall it was a great class.

Very nice guy, knows the material, but he speaks very low, try to sit in the front so you can hear him. He gives hw about the articles from the textbooks. Make sure you take note of anything he writes on the board because it will be important for his tests. His reviews were helpful as well

Professor Batson is an amazing teacher with clear knowledge of the subject. His tests are easy if you study and attend the lectures. I never bought the core book, and didn't need it for the class. He is really soft spoken and gives help when needed. Wish more professors were as kind as him!

I was nervous of entering college as a freshman but this guy made me change my views. If you have a chance of enrolling in his class do it asap. His study reviews were spot on for his test. He's a sweet genuine guy and his lectures were interesting.

3-4 homework and 2 Exams + 1 final included short responds about the given words and some multiple choices. He gives out review before exam, just study and remembers them, you will be fine.

Great guy, I had my fair share of absences and still managed to get an A in the class. The review sheet he gives before the test is a godsend, if you fail with that you didn't want to pass. Anyone failing this class has only themselves to blame. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to take him, wont regret it. Save money on the textbook.

Professor Batson is a very good professor. His lectures are powerpoint based and also would answer students questions. You have assignments and a midterm and a final. Also there are books that he requests for students to read. If you do well on the tests and assignments you will get a good grade. I do recommend him if you are a historian.

Professor Batson is such a nice guy and he is very passionate about what he is teaching. He knows the material very well and explain everything perfectly. The review of the midterm and finals are definitions and if you know what each one is, you will get an A. Plus the written part of the test is a take home. Highly recommend him!

Very sweet professor and you can just tell he cared about the whole class. This was a summer class so we probably were a little more relaxed then a regular winter or spring class. He responded to emails quickly and would leave you notes on all HW. Very happy I chose Batson as my professor for CORE, I probably wouldn't have gotten the grade I did.

I've never studied American history in my life, English is my second langauge, if you can relate to that, let me tell you this professor is the most amazing human I've ever met. The most Awesome professor ever. Love him, love his lectures, he makes it so easy, I will take his class every semester if I can. I will miss his classes honestly.

Professor Michael Batson, to put simply, is the absolute MAN. Love the guy in and out. Amazing human being, cares for the students and is always full of positive energy, grades fairly, and is always open for debates/ opposing viewpoints. Take core 100, you'll LOVE IT!! :)

Excellent professor! He always expands on topics discussed in the textbook. All-around amazing human being, both in class and out. He always encourages students to debate him, and whether you agree or disagree with some of his opinions, he always uses logic and research to reinforce why he feels a certain way.

I enjoyed my time with Professor Batson. He is a great guy and he enjoys what he teaches. My only correction that I would give him is better notes. He talks a lot, but in a good way. He is not note heavy at all, its just my personal preference to write notes. He is easy and cares about every student.

Mr Batson is the nicest Professor I've had. His lectures are interesting and has two exams (MCQ). He jokes around during class and makes it fun. He even brought us cake at the end of the semester. Gives many extra credit options and a few homework assignments. Follow his study guide and you can bag an easy A.

Batson is really nice. He gives out 4 quizzes(multiple choice), 6 documents (you have to read and type responses), and a 6-7 page paper. He does give out extra credit.

Best professor I EVER had. He is literally the sweetest person ever and really made core 100 fun and easy. He gives extra credit at the end of the semester and as long as you show up most of the time and do your work easy A/B. Brought cake and cookies last day of class to celebrate. Awww I Love him !!!!!

This is one of the most excellent Professor that I ever had. His homework assignments were the most easiest that I ever had all you have to do his look at his syllabus to answer the questions inside the Core 100 textbook. His exams were easy. He has 2 exams for his classroom are the Midterm and the Final Exam for that semester.

I bodied this man's class. Its generally US History & is an easy transition from your average high school setting.

His writing assignments require some short heavy text readings, we did about maybe 8 writing assignments throughout the semester. Other than that his tests are so easy plus he gives us study sheets.

Easy quizzes there's 4 of them he gives a review for each. 2 essays not the best grader. a few homeworks. He gives extra credit in the end. I got an A- deserve an A but still happy with the grade received.

Awesome. Whole textbook is on blackboard, for free! He gives 3 pretty easy quizzes and no final exam which was great. I didn't do so well on the first quiz got a 79, then rebounded, 96 and 92 and still got an A in the class. Show up, do your work, and enjoy the class cause he makes it super easy. Also, no need to take notes every lecture is on BB

This professor was really good. Hes pretty chill just do the homeworks and the online stuff and you will pass. Gives two test its easy he gives you what to go over puts up study guides.

Professor Batson is a great and best history professor in CSI. Knows his materials and help students on their struggles. His quiz isn't difficult as long as you study his review sheet and he curves grade by giving extra credits. I would recommend him to everybody to take his class. Especially students who are a history or education major.

Professor Batson is really knowledgeable and cares about the information hes teaching us. He cares for his students and is always there for us through email or office hours. He set up blackboard and the syllabus perfectly so theres never any confusion about whats due or when its due.

He was awesome! My very first professor at CSI was fantastic. He's very kind with grading and well-spoken. His assignments were very time-consuming, which is expected from a History course but he also gave great feedback for the work turned in. If I ever have the option to have him again, I will run for his class!

I am really enjoying this professor. He is very knowledgeable and he does assign a lot of work but it isn't hard stuff. He is funny and lays everything out very clearly so you always know what is due and where you are throughout the semester. You will not regret taking this class.

Great Professor, Very lectureheavy, they do tend to get boring sometimes. He assigns homework assignments weekly but nothing crazy, towards the end of the semester we started doing homework as classwork because he wanted to give more time for students to work on the final paper.
