Great teacher to have, but to many favorites.

Great teacher! Snack time in class, cancels class a lot,and time flys! Can talk for the whole hour and 45 minutes but hes very interesting! Take home mid term, posterboard, term paper, field portfolio and final thats it for the whole year!

He was an ok teacher, but defiantly had his favorites, talked about his family, way to much and hge did not grade fairly:(

Dr. Bell is confident and humorous. For anyone who thinks he is mean/hard/plays favorites, he is only responding to the feedback he recieves from his students. He cares about our future and is bluntly honest, but not to be taken as insulting. I highly recommend him

Dr. Bell is a very busy man, however tries his best to attend to all his students. Always willing to give extra time if needed. Great connection to have as he is willing to help you get your foot in the teaching door. Test are hard and cover many chapters

Very very busy and kind of hard to get a hold of. But when you do, he is very helpful. Always willing to help you out in hard situations. Tests are kind of hard because you don't go over much in class. If you are outgoing and talkative, I def recommend him. If not, he may be kind of intimidating.

Dr. Bell is a very helpfull teacher. But he needs to focus on one school. His main priority should be to teach his college students. He seems that he has to much going on. He is very hard to get in touch with. Tests are very hard.

Dr Bell is a great teacher! His classes are interesting and meaningful and he is very helpful - though sometimes hard to reach outside of the classroom. He is dedicated to teaching and I love his class! I highly recommend taking him for this class!

Dr Bell's classes are always so much fun.You are rarely sitting around listening to him lecture. There is a lot of hands on learning that makes it fun but also teaches alot of things that you'll need to know as a teacher.He isn't your typical teacher who takes role and forgets you.He gets to know all of his students & truly cares about their succes

Best teacher I had so far in college. He is always there for you even if it doesn't involve his class. Fun teacher, always makes class fun and worth going to. LOVE HIM!!

Really a great guy, loves what he does and he is very easy to understand. Test are a little on the hard side but not bad if you study. Buy the textbook! he gives tests to do at home so you can use your book! you want this teacher!

Dr. Bell wakes you up in the morning, keeps on smiling, tells stories to connect the topic to his students, helps you if you need it no matter what, gets to know his students and loves what he does. He's got a passion for teaching and is the real deal, he knows what he is talking about. You will LOVE him.

He is awesome!! He is so much fun, especially in the morning. He'll keep you awake, and really relate the material to things that you actually know. He gets to know all of his students, and really wants you to succeed. He is definitely worth taking! You won't regret it!!

Great teacher! He is truly an expert on the material. The tests and child studies can be a little difficult and time consuming, but as long as you take the time to learn the material you should be okay.

Dr.Bell is an awesome teacher worth taking if you have an 8am class! The child studies are a bit of a pain and the directions for them are a little unclear - but it's not impossible to get a good grade if you do your work.

Dr.Bell comes off as a hard-ass, but he really is a nice guy when you speak to him. He's always genuinely interested in what you have to say and wants to help you in anyway possible. Tests can be really hard if you don't read, he'll take word for word questions from the book. So read, speak up, and you'll do fine.

He is a very nice teacher but the tests are hard! The tests were supposed to be all online but 4 out of 5 of the tests were done in class. Talks about a lot of personal experiences which makes the class interesting. I was absent for a week due to illness and he was very helpful and understanding and always answered my emails. Very nice!

Dr. Bell is an interesting professor. If you go to his office hours he will DEFINITELY help you. His tests are very difficult. This class was extremely stressful for anyone in it. He presents the material in a way that requires you to UNDERSTAND not just memorize. He is very well known and overall a good professor however sometimes not consistent.

He's my advisor and I had him last semester. He's a great person and a fairly easy professor. He does talk about his family a lot but he relates it to course material most of the time. I would suggest taking him for any education course.

I was fortunate enough to have Dr. Bell as an honors professor. I realize that most people looking him up aren't interested about that class, so I'll just say that he was really straightforward in his expectations and he really cared that his students did well. I definitely would take him again, regardless of the class.

his class was super interesting and he made it enjoyable to come to. test are super hard.. he will say "this ones a breeze" but it will be very difficult. Offers help though super nice and friendly and clear with what he wants. overall loved the class.

Dr. Bell was great! At first he can come off as a bit stuck up, but he is really nice as you get to know him! He is super approachable and really cares about his students. Tests can be tough if you don't read the chapter, but he basically tells you what's on each test. I really enjoyed his class I thought he made it very interesting!

Dr. Bell is funny and takes a true interest in all of his students. He is available to assist at all times and makes it a point that all of his students feel welcome and comfortable in class. He will work with you on any and all problems that may arise. Tests and quizzes are difficult only if you do not pay attention to him and if you do not study.

Dr. Bell is an awesome professor. He truly cares about his job and educating future teachers. He is very knowledgeable and makes you think critically. If you participate and become an active member of the class he will love you. It is super important to read the book and keep up with class discussions.

Dr. Bell is great professor! He gives a lot of useful insight to education and is very passionate about what he does! You do have to do your work and take it seriously. He is very busy so you may have to email him a few times but he is more than willing to help you! You just have to do your part and he will definitely help!

His tests are hard, but that's because he pushes us to reach our full potential! He has so many connections that are resourceful for future teachers! The BEST teacher I've ever had. He's a great professor and a genuine good person. He really cares about all his students and wants them to do their best. He also grades kinda easy. Definitely take him if you have the chance to. I remember reading these reviews before signing up for the class and now I'm writing my own because he's really that great

Dr. Bell is a real gem. There are so few professors that care so much for their students as much as he does. He wants everyone to succeed 100% and even though his class is incredibly challenging, if you do the work, you will succeed, and nothing made me happier than making him proud.

Dr. Bell is the best! I was a little intimidated by him at first, but when you have a conversation with him, you realize that he really cares about education and his students. Attendance is absolutely mandatory and he relates his lectures to real-life, which is a plus! Tests are difficult though, so make sure you study for them.

Best professor I've had. He cares about his students and his job and he isn't just there to get paid. He has a lot of experience and knows his stuff. While teaching he gives good real life examples that stick with you and help you remember concepts. The class is hard if you make it hard, study, read the book, pay attention in class!!!!

Loved him! He makes an effort to get to know everyone, if you have the chance go to his office hours and talk to him, he is so nice. His class is hard, make sure you study and put in a lot of effort.

Dr. Bell's class is a roller coaster ride. He speaks quickly and speeds through the material. Come to class, pay attention, and READ THE TEXTBOOK and you should be fine. Genuinely think he cares about his students, but pays you no mind if you're not serious about your academics/being a teacher. Difficult class but has bettered me in the long run.

Dr. Bell has been one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to becoming a teacher. He is so passionate in teaching and makes you want to be the best you can be! YOU NEED YOUR BOOK! Do the readings, participate, and get to know this guy! He will help you succeed to be the best teacher you can be! I learned more in this class then any others!

Dr. Bell is the most down to earth professor I have ever had. He really cares about each of his students and I enjoyed coming to classes! his tests are really hard-so don't take his class unless you are willing to put hours of studying in!! I would take this class again if I could!

By far my favorite professor this year. If you are considering doing anything with children as a career, take his class! It is not an easy A, but is well worth it! He is also incredibly helpful during office hours and gives great extra help. His lectures are engaging and he provides stories to help you remember concepts.

Difficult quizzes, tests, and papers, but his personality makes up for everything. The stories he tells are inspirational and applicable to real life situations, and he truly cares about you and how you're doing in the class

Dr. Bell is amazing, caring, and has a great sense of humor. Even in a large class, he gets to know all of his students. He is so personable and easy to talk to. He tells lots of stories about his personal experiences, which can really help with remembering concepts. Be ready to take a lot of notes, and read the corresponding pages in the textbook!

Dr Bell is a really nice guy I had him for the online Fall 2020 semester. Your grade will come from quizzes and the two big child observation projects. You do need to study for the quizzes because they're timed. I recommend doing the 2 big projects virtually because he barely reads them and only grades hardly the ones who actually observe a child

Dr. Bell is a professor you want on your side as a future educator. He is hard and his assignments are not easy but he challenges you to be a better educator and change your perspective. If you go out of your way to get to know Dr. Bell, he is kind, caring, and so willing to share his life and stories with you. Dr. Bell is the best.

I ended up switching my major, but I still absolutely loved this class!! His lectures are super engaging, and he gives so many real-world examples. His class was the one class that I didn't want to skip. He is very understanding and respectable.

I took EGP 209 and 322 with Dr. Bell, you will get a lot out of his class if you pay attention during lectures and add to the discussion. He is incredibly passionate about education and has lots of good information. He is very responsive outside of class and is willing to help on any assignments. I loved both his classes and did well in both.

Dr. Bell is a well respected professor at WCU. He can be intimating at first but he just wants to create amazing future educators. His projects aren't hard you just have to follow the guidelines. His tests are extremely hard. Make sure you study the study guides as well as the lectures and prepare for tests way in advance. Attendance matters!!!!!!

Dr. Bell cares extremely and has respect for all of his students and wishes to see them succeed. I had Dr. Bell for both EGP 209, and 210. He does lecture almost every class, but his lectures are interesting, he tends to tell stories and make jokes. Dr. Bell is dedicated to his work and is not afraid to tell you if you're doing something wrong!

I absolutely adore Dr. Bell. He is strict about attendance but its because he genuinely wants you to be there. His work is very straight forward. He likes things done a certain way, so as long as you follow the directions and ask questions you will be fine.

I loved Prof. Bell! His classes were fun, he pretty much uses the lectures. He also throws in his own stories about topics which help understand the subject. There are 4 Child Development projects that are pretty much your grade but they are super easy. He grades essays hard but will always help if you have a question.

Papers are graded hard

I had Dr. Bell for EGP 209 and 210; he's a great professor. He comes to class with years of experience to share, which is always helpful. He does have a strict mandatory attendance policy. Assignments are easy if you follow his guidelines and ask questions if confused. My only critique is that he can be insensitive at times tbh

He is a tough grader and is very lecture heavy, but they are very interesting and time flies in that class. If you pay attention, take good notes, act respectful, and turn in things on time, you will thoroughly enjoy this class.

Dr. Bell is the best professor i have had at wcu. does he assign a lot of work? yes. is he tough? yes. but will you learn a lot? YES. i have taken two of his classes now and hope to take more in the future, i respect him so much. you will learn so much from him and his stories, you will be a better teacher. take him if you can!

I personally love Dr.Bell.I had a very unfortunate loss in my family at the start of my fall semester,and left for a month. Right before I came back, he gave his condolences and made sure I did not drop his class at my advisor meeting. He's truly amazing. If you take one of his courses be ready for long detailed lectures and NO LATE WORK.

This is the second part class that goes along with EGP 209 and if you didn't take Dr. Bell for that one, definitely take him for this one. This class is half lectures and half notebook work that you prepare the previous week and share in small groups in class. The projects in this class are long and a lot of work so be prepared for them. Hard exams

Dr. Bell is an amazing professor. He's super caring and understanding and always willing to help you. Show up, do your work, and pay attention and you're golden. He's very funny and truly loves what he does and cares about his students. Not a super tough grader, and the workload isn't at all unreasonable.

Dr. Bell is an amazing person, and great teachers. His teaching style is mostly lectures run off PowerPoints, but he cares so much about the material and actually making you learn and understand that a lot of the time me goes off course and tells stories that encompass what is on the slide. He cares about his students and is the best.

Best professor ever. If you care about what your learning he will care about you, and even if you dont, he will still care for you. So kind and really truly loves his students. Decent amount of work but if you do it the way he asks you'll get an A.

Dr. Bell is one of the best WCU has to offer. I had him for two semesters, and although his class is tough, you will learn so much. He genuinely loves what he does and is such a kind human. His stories are very inspirational and motivate me to become a teacher like him. If you do your work and pay attention in class, you will do great. Take him!!
