One of the nicest easiest professor on campus.
Brother Bolingbroke is AMAZING! He is the funniest, nicest guy ever. There are no tests/quizzes, just class discussions. He makes Book of Mormon so interesting and fun to attend.
I loved his teaching style. Attendance is marked in your once a week homework submission. His classes are based on discussion, with it being led but not boring. This was my favorite class.
Has a very warm personality that helps you to feel at easy while in class. Very Funny! The class is structured more towards spiritual growth than random facts in the scriptures. Loved it, I will be taking another class from him again.
Brother Bolingbroke is so nice! I never didn't want to go to Book of Mormon. He is a new professor to BYU-I but so great. He gives the best life stories and just over all cares about his students. I always felt the spirit in his class. He is very passionate about the gospel and missionary work!
Brother Bolinbroke is one of my favorite teachers! He is very down to earth and is always there to help you. I always feel the spirit there. He structures the class to help you progress in life as a person rather than just give you a good grade. His stories are truly inspirational! Highly recomended.
He is an extremely passionate and great teacher. His classes are easy and yet you learn a lot. There is no homework, but he does expect you to participate-which ends up being your grade. The only way to not get an A is to either not show up at all or just not participate at all. You'll always leave class with a smile and refreshed spirit. awesome!
Best religion teacher here! I took him for BOM and family foundations. Great teacher, really helpful, not a lot of work outside of class. He makes the class fun and really interesting. you can tell he's really passionate about what he teaches.
Seriously the greatest teacher ever. He will make you laugh and cry in the same class. HE is super funny, but can also hit you with the spirit at any time. It's a very uplifting class.TAKE HIM!
Brother Bolingbroke is the best teacher I had this semester. His lessons were great! He shared stories that applied to the lesson. We also had some awesome class discussions! By far the best class!!
The best religion teacher here. Took him for Fam. Foundations and D&C. Super nice, energetic, helpful, and understanding! He shared lots of great stories that were religious, some that weren't. By far the easiest religion classes and you get a lot out of the lessons!! Take a few notes in class and write a 300 word paper once a week. Awesome Teacher
I can't enough good things about Bro. Bolingbroke- he is absolutely hilarious, super spiritual, cares about you, and the work is definitely manageable! I loved other religion teachers, but if I could have, I would have taken him for each religion class!! You can be belly laughing one minute then crying next!:) weekly journal reports with a final.
Brother Bolingbroke is the best teacher I have ever had! He can go from making you laugh hysterically to making you cry in literally 2 minutes. He is pretty easy, you don't have to do a lot of work other than show up and participate. I always feel the Spirit in his classroom, and I am going to take as many classes from him as I can.
Brother Bolingbroke's class is really easy. He cares more about his students interacting with each other and being involved in class discussions than he is about you knowing the nitty-gritty details. He's very passionate about what he teaches and has a lot of fun stories to tell.
I loved Brother Bolingbroke's book of Mormon class! He always gave great insights on a personal level and during the class. No quizzes just weekly reports that showed that you did the reading for the week.
Great teacher the Book of Mormon is just difficult for me to understand.
Overall he is a good teacher. I found the class pretty boring though. Attendance is required; over 2 absences and he'll drop your grade even if you make up the points. He went over time way too often, esp. since my next class was on the other side of campus. Kind of loud and obnoxious in my opinion, not my preferred teaching style but a good guy.
Really does a great job explaining the material and has plenty of personal stories. One mid-term and one personal improvement project other than the reading for workload. Very easy and enjoyable for a religion class. Doesn't push his personal doctrine, just his opinions and is respectful of other opinions.
Brother Bolingbroke was great! He does go off on a lot of tangents (almost always gospel related, though), and sometimes gets very energetic when explaining his understanding of something. 300 word journal every week and a fairly big project for the final. I learned a lot about the gospels from him, if you don't mind tangents every class, take him!
Brother Bolingbroke expects you to participate in his class, but it is not a hard class and he is really knowledgeable. He loves teaching and it shows.
He was such a good teacher. Finding a good religion teacher is tough and I am so glad I found him. He really cares about his students and we have very good gospel discussions. I am taking him next semester for New Testament
Great guy, makes a connection with his students. Sometimes goes off on political rants, but he is a hoot and a holler. You give yourself your grade through self evaluations. So do your part and you will get an "A".
Brother Bolingbroke is an amazing teacher. He really cares about his students and knows the material. I have taken 2 of his religion classes and I loved both.
Just take him... Trust me. Its like a live play in front of you every class period. He will have you laughing to crying in minutes. I have taken him 4 semesters in a row now... Convinced?
Everlasting Gospel of Jesus Christ. Bro. Bolingbroke is hilarious! I enjoyed every single class. The class isn't hard but he does have expectations.
Brother Bolingbroke is the best religion teacher ever! He is not a hard teacher by any means. Do the reading and attend class and you will do great. The readings are just a few verses of scriptures and a conference talk or two. He is so awesome. Class is so much fun. I always hated to miss his class because he was so funny!! JUST TAKE THIS CLASS
What can I even say about Brother Bolingbroke? Such an inspirational guy. He's hilarious and you'll learn and grow so much. I really enjoyed coming to class each time. He gets a little bit heated sometimes about certain topics, but it's all good. 10 hour project but it's really not bad, other than that just weekly journals and a midterm
I would take every religion class from him
I loved Brother Bolingbroke's class. The only things required were that you show up having read the assignment, and a decently large paper at the end of the semester. (Also an online mid-term, I believe.) Really not too bad. He had so many amazing stories. He obviously loves teaching about Christ. He also taught with the Spirit. Highly recommend.
Brother Bolingbroke was hilarious and I actually looked forward to coming to class. He taught my sister in NV for 3 years and she loved him too. He is super funny and makes things as clear as he can. There is a 10 hour project and over 1500 word paper at the end, also readings before class but it isn't bad. He's worth it!
Brother Bolingbroke is awesome! Lovable guy, who cares for each student. Very funny guy who makes religion class fun as well as spiritual.
I first took Bro. Bolingbroke 3 semesters ago. I have taken him every semester since. He is super fun and engaging, and really cares about his students. You have a reading assignment before each class, and each week you have a quiz that is basically asking "Did you read and show up to class?". I highly recommend Brother Bolingbroke!
As long as you show up to class and read beforehand. Easy work load. Weekly reports are simple, 300 word journal is the main part. One talk 1500 words due as the final. Definitely would take again, he can get a little distracted, but for the most part is very entertaining. Has an interesting way of presenting occasionally controversial things
I absolutely love Brother Bolingbroke, he taught me so much in the little time that I had him. You show up and do your final project and you will pass. It was so easy to attend his class. He kept me laughing the whole class! He really does love the Lord so much, and he wanted his students to have strong testimonies.
Take any class you can from Brother Bolingbroke! Hands down, he is the best religion teacher out there. He makes any topic interesting and has the whole class engaged in his lessons! He also has an extensive knowledge of the scriptures and talks by the General Authority. Great guy, wants every student to succeed.
Brother Bolingbroke is such a great professor. I love how he can be spiritual, but very real too. He is more open minded about things and isn't afraid to say things outside of the "BYU/Utah/Idaho culture" Excellent professor. Also, there is a lot of reading, but that's really it. It's a pretty easy class, but you learn a lot from it!
He's funny and spiritual by turns, and he's passionate about the gospel. Classes are very engaging! The reading assignments are very large (New Testament chapters and the manual) and you have to do a journal for every class and discuss your readings for 30 minutes outside of class each week. Comparatively, a lot of work for a religion class.
Highly recommended for REL 200! He made all of his lessons funny, entertaining and engaging. Overall he makes the class very easy and in a way so that you can get the most out of it. Generally all of the homework he gives is easy. If you put in the effort that's required and try, you will pass with an easy A!
Brother Bolingbroke is an awesome professor, he really makes the topics interesting and has a lot of cool references to back up what he talks about in class. He does get off topic a little but it is usually very funny and entertaining. There is just one report at the end of the week and a midterm and a final project. I love going to his class!
Brother Bolingbroke is amazing! He is a man that you can trust with anything. He has a rock solid testimony. He is always smiling. And he really cares for each of his students. There is a bit of reading, and a final project, but it was not too overwhelming and really beneficial for me.
He is hilarious in every way. There's absolutely no chance of boredom in this class. My life and view of the Gospel has been changed because of this man.
This man really does care about every individual in his class. He is kind, thoughtful and always brings a good spirit to class. Sometimes he get a sidetracked with stories but they are always awesome and he is really good at linking them back to what he was talking about. While he is wonderfully light hearted he is NOT light minded, which I like!
Brother Bolingbroke is pretty funny and although religion classes aren't my fav, I think I would take him again if I could. Remember to go to class because we have weekly reports and attendance is a big deal and you can literally lose multiple grade levels if you miss one report. thats probably the only thing but they arent hard to do at all.
He is an AMAZING teacher, anyone can agree with me. He makes you laugh and cry all in one class, my day isn't the same without his class. He has changed my life.
I loved Brother Bolingbroke! He was really funny and had really good lectures. I found class would pass by very quickly. For class we read from the reading packet and watched podcasts. We also worked on passing off The Proclamation paragraph by paragraph. I would definitely want to take another class from him if I could.
One of the best religion teachers I had at BYU-I. Not only was he hilarious, but he had some of the most spiritual lessons that I've ever had. The class is easy, just a 300-word report at the end of every week and one 10 hour project. There is a midterm, but it's open-note and not difficult in the slightest. I would definitely take him again.
Brother Bolingbroke is hilarous! He is so engaging and has such a sweet testimony that is borne to us multiple times a day. There is a ton of homework in this class though and a long quiz at the end of each week. Besides that, I would totally take him again. He's fantastic!
Honestly Brother Bolingbroke is my favorite religion teacher! He's hilarious and tells lots of stories. You just have to do what you do for all religion classes; read before class, come to class, and feel like you're participating. I get excited to go to his class. Inspirational and always spiritually uplifting.
Read all the material & don't take your phone out during class, then fill out your weekly assessment and you will be good. On the 300 word "journal," write about your day and how God may have affected it. It doesn't need to be exactly 300 words, just close to it. The quizzes are honor-code questions, so don't be intimidated.
GREAT CLASS!!! ONLY ONE EASY ASSIGNMENT A WEEK.
Brother Bolingbroke is an amazing professor! He's absolutely hilarous and has great stories. The class is very easy, attendance is mandatory and there is a 300 word weekly report every week. Love his teaching style and I'm taking him again.
Brother Bolingbroke made class a joy. I loved his stories and learned a ton from him. Highly recommend him!
Brother Bolingbroke has quite the passion for what he teaches. He loves it, and he loves sharing stories and experiences with his students. He is hysterical, but also explains the doctrine in a reverent way, and in a way that is understood. He is by far my most favorite religions professor, and I would definitely take classes from him again.
Brother Bolingbroke is great. He has lots of experience and shares lots of stories. He is loud and passionate, and doesn't always stick to the lesson. The class has weekly reports where you rate yourself. If you do the reading, show up to class, participate, and share each week, you'll be fine.
Brother Bolingbroke cares a lot for his students and was really invested in them. He's very passionate about the class topics, and he had really good insights. The class itself has a lot of readings, and you also memorize The Family Proclamation. It was a lot for a two credit religion class, but at as a teacher, Bro. Bolingbroke was great!
Bro. Bolingbroke is the most caring, hilarious, and tender hearted man on campus. He had loads of stories and tries his best to relate it to the material, but is so funny we never mind. He has such a sweet testimony and reaffirms my love for the gospel each and every class. Highly recommended! Cant wait to take him again.
Brother Bolingbroke is one of the sweetest men I have ever met. He is so caring and loving towards his students. I almost always feel the spirit in his class. His love for the gospel is contagious. He also has the best stories and is honestly a comedian. Overall, his classes are pretty easy and life-changing. Can't wait to take him again!
I would not recommend taking Brother Bolingbroke for any class. He is not someone who brings the spirit to class, we are never able to get through a lesson because he talks about his opinions and thoughts too much. There have been many times where there have been things said that reveal too much about the endowment process of the church. No filter.
He cares about his students and really invites the spirit into his classroom. Plus hes hilarious which is a bonus!
Brother Bolingbroke is my favorite professor! He is hilarious and keeps the lessons interesting. He has a very powerful voice and brings the spirit into every class he teaches. He's got some great stories and every one taught me something important. He has three-hundred word weekly reports every week and two tests. Easy to pass and just a great guy
I've heard horror stories of religion professors, but this class was great. He expects you to actually work on yourself and put effort, but If you do, you're golden
HE IS AMAZING! I definitely suggest taking him because he is so passionate about the gospel. He mostly shares stories during class, but they all relate to what we are studying and the spirit is able to testify truth to you. If you are looking for a religion teacher, Bollingbroke is the best.
Prof Bolingbroke seemed like a decent guy, but class materials and lectures (or even what was said at the beginning vs end of a lecture) would often contradict. Sensitive materials were not covered in adequate ways. Also, some material dated back 35 years and were inaccurate representations of the Church's stance on topics.
growing up I hated seminary and struggled with it but attending the religion classes on campus has be fantastic and ive loved every class and teacher however this teacher cares more about if you are on your phone then creating a environment to learn and grow. class just feels like another seminary class with a teacher who really doesnt get t/ point
He is really nice and teaches with a lot of simplicity. Would 100% recommend him.
Brother Bolingbroke has been one of the best teachers I have had. His lectures are inspirational. I am not a morning person and I took his class at 7:00 am. Honestly, it was worth the challenge.
Brother Bolingbroke is a really good professor. The class is an easy A. But every week during class, he'd get distracted and tell us another story about his family and would sometimes hold us over class. He was really real though and wanted us to succeed with the Savior's help.
Honestly Brother Bolingbroke is a great guy but sometimes he just says things that are kind of offensive and honestly don't bring the spirit to class. His class is pretty easy and the hw is easy to understand.
Brother Bolingbroke was a super awesome professor. He had a really great way of teaching, and was always super passionate about his beliefs. Hes always relate what we learned to a personal story, and he was also super funny.
Brother Bolingbrook is an okay teacher. His class is really easy but he's not super in touch with societal standards. He will likely offend you in class once or twice. He is very lecture heavy and often infuses his personal political beliefs into the lectures. He's an easy A
Loved his class, he is super funny and active in the class, he makes religion classes fun and worth your time.
He is very lecture heavy and honestly he says things that are so offensive sometimes. As he teaches a religion class youll sometimes have to tackle heavy topics and he has no tact when he does it. he doesnt think before he speaks and he comes off super judgmental. and he made a slightly racist comment to me once and it was uncomfortable.
He really wants you to improve. You can feel his testimony and love for the gospel each and every class. I enjoyed this class so much! Best religion teacher ever! Favorite class the whole year.
I Loved Him as a teacher! All of my siblings have taken his class and loved it. He does get off topic sometimes but is a great teacher. His class was very easy. As long as you do your homework you will get a good grade. He is very willing to work with you.
Amazing! Must take! He teaches the lessons of D&C and life through stories and how they should be taught. He is very straight forward and sometimes thick skin is needed from his comments and teachings but honestly it is for the better, I agree with him 99% of the time on lectures. HW is easy, test not bad, the spirit is very high every class.
The class is super easy, if you are sensitive then probably don't take this class from him, he makes some jokes that probably he shouldn't. But he's a great professor and he really cares about your spiritual growth.
Brother Bolingbroke is such an amazing, inspirational, and spiritual professor! His lectures were so amazing, he had such great stories, and he is hilarious! I guess he could say offensive things, but nothing ever bothered me! I really loved this class, and it made me feel more prepared to have a family! Highly Recommend!
Brother Bolingbroke is easy going and the class is easy. He cracks jokes all the time and has so many stories. He is really spiritual, however it was difficult to understand some of the topics that he was teaching. He does have a midterm unlike most other religion professors. Overall, wonderful he is a decent professor.
My gosh was his class amazing. Super inspirational and Spirit led. Absolutely loved it.
He is a great teacher, He goes out of his way to help his students out. It was an easy class, but I also learned a lot too. 10/10 great teacher, I recommend him.
As someone not intrinsically drawn to religious classes, taking a religion class merely because it is required, this professor makes it easier to bear. Offers opportunity to interact with those around you in class. I've garnered some respect for the times he tells it like it is - yes!!
Brother Bolingbroke was an amazing professor, his lectures were amusing and educational. He was always willing to work with the students and was all around fantastic. He made the New Testament interesting and make sense! 10/10
He is an amazing professor. He relates topics to our personal lives which helps with understanding. He does crack jokes and tells stories, honestly that's my favorite part about him. Some say he's offensive or "opinionated" but those people are too sensitive and can't have fun. You can't get better than him. He is more like a mentor than a teacher.
Brother Bolingbroke is the best. He is funny and definitely tells the best stories. He really does keep the spirit in the class, and his testimony is so strong. By nature, this class deals with difficult personal issues, however they were always discussed with love and dignity and respect.
Bolingbroke has been one of my favorite professors ever! He has the best stories and truly cares about each one of his students. I have had him for two 7:45am classes but he never fails to keep everyone awake and engaged. There is only a midterm (open book/note) and then a final paper (which isn't bad at all). Attendance is super important!
He is passionate about what he teaches and can be super revenant, but he can also be hilarious and keep everyone awake. The only weekly assignments are weekly reports where you write 300 words about what you learned/pondered/etc that week which is super easy (esp if you take notes). Awesome teacher and easy but impactful class.
I love this class! Sometimes he can be a bit loud for 7:45 in the morning, but that's my only complaint. He has amazing stories and lectures, each class is so fun and insightful. The assignments are easy to do and he isn't a hard grader. I recommend this a thousand times over!
Brother Bolingbroke never fails to be engaging. He teaches with the spirit and he always has a story to tell. He was a wonderful professor to have and I will definitely try to take classes from him again.
There is a decent amount of busy work, but good class overall. He is a super nice guy and has engaging lessons with funny stories. He would get frustrated if technology was not working sometimes haha
Brother Bolingbroke is great! As others have said, he's super passionate about the topics he teaches. Be sure to keep up with your reading or it'll pile up real quick.
He is very good and your whole grade just depends on weekly reports.
Brother Bolingbroke is a good teacher, class was interesting and engaging. I did feel like there was a lot of work for a religion class though. He has you read quite a bit and do weekly reports. You do also have to do a semester project which is 10 hours and write a paper about it. Overall, a good class though!
Brother Bolingbroke is THE best professor on the campus of BYU-I. He is so awesome. A rating of a 5 is not high enough. For a 7:45 AM class, he always kept me awake. He is also super funny. I would recommend him to EVERYONE!
The class was easy, but for a course that was supposed to be about The Living Christ, we didn't seem to talk about Jesus very much. I just wish it had been a little more... I don't know, focused? Substantial? There were lots of tangents. (Also, be prepared for some loud lectures. Not everyone has a problem with the volume, but I didn't enjoy it).
While the content of this class is simple enough, he is not the teacher for everyone. He is very strict about phone usage and tries to set students up with each other. He shared information about religious details that were not intended to be shared with the general public.
Brother Bolingbroke is so funny! He says some off the wall comments sometimes, but overall very excited about the gospel. His class requires writing 300 words every week and a final paper, but he grades on participation so its easy to do well in his class. I ended with 105%
Professor Bolingbroke keeps the class engaging with his funny stories and spiritual insights, though the content can feel a bit scattered at times. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for preparing for the midterm. Overall, a solid class choice.
Loved Professor Bolingbroke so much. He's passionate about what he teaches in the best way, and funny. He was happy to teach, and careful to stick to truth. The class had awesome content. His testimony of Jesus Christ always showed. You could feel his care, especially when meeting with him one on one. That class's spirit got me through the week.
This was an amazing religion class. The professor's lectures were in-depth and spiritually uplifting. Be warned, though, if you're single, he will try to set you up. The workload was very light, with only one weekly homework assignment based on pre-reading. It's very difficult to fail this class.
This dude is the GOAT. Don't ever disrespect this man he actually my fav prof my freshman semester. He rlly emotional and like feels what he preaches. He's rlly funny too and tries to set up different classmates.
I took REL275. He is super kind and has a lot of energy for the morning classes. There is a weekly report and a 10 hour project final for the end of the class that he tells you about at the beginning. Super simple, really easy to get full points, attendance adds up.
He was an amazing teacher. I wish I could take this class again!
I loved taking Brother Bolingbrokes class! He loves all of his students and wants us to do well in life.
