bad explainer...never gets to the point...really boring!

This guy is sooooo boring. He seems inable to function without his overheads and is not capable of answering questions. Quizzes have so few questions that you can fail for getting one or two wrong. My advice- switch to a different professor asap!

He's a good man, seems to be lost a lot though. He's very helpful if you ask, but a total bore in class, and he kinda makes me want to throw up. If you do the homework, the class is cake.

Probably was my worst experience with a teacher in my entire life. He forgets what he is saying in the middle of his sentence, laughs at his own jokes that I don't even think he understands, looses our exams, and is clearly scatter-brained! STAY AWAY!!!
VERY BORING....talks so slow that it makes you wanna scream get to the point- Lives off overheads and uses the same examples about 50 times in one class...but he means well
He is a nice professor, a little hard to understand at times, but if you work hard and want the help, he will give it to you. Easy class if you do the homework. Also, do NOT open Tic-Tacs in class or he will eat them!
One of the easy classes I have ever taken. He makes sure you understand the material, but he teaches it like a high school class and treats you like a high student. He doesn't check that homework is completed, and if you pay attention you can do well.
Herendous, Hideous, you can't even fathom. Every time I go to that class a piece of my soul is lost. No joke, I vomit at the thought of his prescence, and that is being nice!!!

my first class on mwf...makes me want to gag. his bad attitdue starts off the minute he walks up to his beloved overhead to recite (in his annoying voice may i add) the rules of the day. looks like he has a rain cloud over his head all day. always pissy.

Not a bad class - it's really not that hard to get an A if you do the homework and come to class. Sucks that he takes attendance, and cannot survive without his overheads, but all in all, it's not a bad way to fulfill the math requirement.
the most annoying and oblivious dork of a teacher ever! tells the worst jokes and his geekiness is obsured, however its a fairly easy class its ur own fault if you do badly. i'm not a math person, so i always needed help and he was there to give it!
Should've been a high school teacher
This was by far the worst math class I have ever taken. He didnt explain anything well and I dont think it was a good transition from high school. I was very disatisfied with the way the material was presented. I needed to hire a tutor to pass this class.
Everyone who gave this guy a negative rating is obviously smoking something. I earned an A in calculus becuase of him and I suck at math. Go to class, take his notes and pay attention. He gives lots of extra credit and makes sure everyone does well.
Without a doubt the worst teacher in the history of the University Of Delaware. He should have his doctorate revoked and be made into a 1st grade gym teacher.

DO NOT BUY THE BOOKS! all the notes are thorough and more than enough to study and learn from. great guy means well and wants everyone to do well.
This class was very easy and if you dont get an A then maybe you have a learning disability. Falls asleep during the tests. Really weird guy though, he leaves class everyday to go and do god knows what in the bathroom. Not very nice and will call you out!
I hate the way he talks about examples, but doesnt explain how to do the stuff... stuttuers, and pauses in the middle of an idea and starts going off on something else.
i dont understand why everyone keeps saying they needed a tutor to pass his class. his class is 9th grade material and if you cant pass it on your own maybe you needed to take a different class. the material was easy and it was well taught

Ok, so hands down not the best teacher here. He's a fairly nice guy, terrible jokes, kind of weird altogether, and he'll run his point into the ground over and over and over...
weird guy. bad jokes. repeats himself over and over. i did learn the stuff he tought but found myself getting so annoyed at his quirks that i would get side tracked. i didnt do the homework but i took all the practice tests the night before the exams and got b's. hes annoying but you learn it.

Ive had worse math teachers than him...but hes so boring and looks like an overweight einstein. sometimes tells stupid jokes and laughs with himself....tests can be very hard...so study, as long as you put the effort and take all the notes then you can get an A. but not a pretty experience.
Awful professor, but very easy class. Rude to his students and attendence is mandatory. Class is cake though, its like eight grade math.
The class was harder than I thought it would be. Exams are very tricky. Really nice guy when you talk to him during extra help. Wants students to do good. Drops atleast 2 quizzes at end of semester. Seems like a tough guy at first, not so bad. DO NOT TALK IN HIS CLASS!!!
Brookes classes sometimes get very boring, but overall hes a pretty good teacher. Notes are the same throughout all his classes so if you miss a day, you can get them from some one else. STUDY the notes he gives, thats what his exams are on. He gives lots of quizzes, but they are on the notes too.

He is actually not a bad teacher if you can get past his weirdness. He is probably one of the better math profs out of all the mediocre math profs there are for this class. I am bad at math and got a B. Go to class-->he takes attendance but I can't say that I think he really makes it matter on your grade much.
this man is a narcoleptic, he falls asleep duing exams, he Cannot explain problems very well. People please be sure that when you get your homework, quizzes, or test back that you go over it with him, then count up the score. He has a habit of falling a sleep when he grades and makes mistakes and will screw up your grade.
Lets be serious, what professor actually falls asleep in class? He makes jokes, which are stupid, but its cool. Very nice teacher, but the course was harder than i thought. he's real weird, but he is my easiest class. he takes like five minutes to say one sentence and writes everything down when he could just say it. He sort of gets on my nerves, but id rather have a slow easy class than one i cant understand.
I'm sorry but I think he is a horrible teacher. He can make the easiest thing sound confusing and he NEVER seems to know what he is even talking about but the class is still easy. There's no homework to collect and I that the exams are easy the teacher just is horrible.
To say it simply he is just really weird! He is not helpful and gets frustrated at your questions. The class wasn't that hard but he made you dread going to it.

i had him last spring andi thought the class was so easy. my annoyance was in dumb students who asked questions like "whered you get those numbers in the example" and he'd answer "good question." No, it's not a good question! They shouldn't even be in college. over all, i got an A in the class although he wouldnt write em a leter of recommendation.

oh man. what a guy. he is completely unfair- he gave my friend's section the opportunity to re-take 2 quizzes and didnt offer that to my class. hes a really really bad teacher- i did very poorly on my exams, yet i managed to get a 98% as my quiz average.this man can't teach- another professor makes up the tests- thats why it was so hard for me. UGH
I think this man has come along way from the other responses. He is stand offish, however if you stay after class to adress a question he is more than helpful. Tests were easy questions came from sample problems done in class. The book was no help for understanding. Follow his notes, not the books' and u will be fine.
Really not as bad as these comments say he is. Very easy class, great for winter session. Dr. Brook can be a little boring in his lectures, but other than than is a pretty decent guy who knows what he's teaching. He is very helpful if you ask him and always reviews before quizzes and tests, which are usually easy. Pretty nice guy overall.

His class is generally pretty straightforward and clear. Doing the homework probably helps, but I don't and I'm still doing fairly well in the class. He's kind of boring, but he usually lets class out early... not always, and sometimes it's only by five or ten minutes, but he hasn't kept our class there for the whole time on too many occasions.
This class is very easy, dont do the homework and you will still get an A. Brook is very straight forward and will prepare you well for the test. HE is also very boring and will put you alseep. I do recommend him however
If you can manage to get another professor for this class, I would highly suggest doing so. His explanations were vague and often misleading. I managed to pull an A based on what i remembered from high school, but I felt bad for students whose first encounter with the material was in his class. He's confusing, dull, and slightly arrogant. Watch out
Horrible teacher! I appeared to be doing bad because he is **** (favoring girls) and he was constantly unclear in his questions. He also made at least 1 mistake on an example per class and when we would catch him on it, he would defend himself by saying "Just trust me, I'm right."
He is kind of dry but if you actually pay attention, really funny. he makes jokes that you don't really know if he's joking or not but he usually is. as for material-if you ask him to explain something he will. he also repeats himself numerous times, making learning much easier. it's hard to do bad in this class

He should have been out of the game years ago. Old, senile, and passed his time. Repeats himself 5 or 6 times. Very disrespectful to students. Would not recommend him AT ALL. Makes mistakes during examples, loses papers. Worst professor I've ever had.

If you think this class will be a breeze because you took it in high school, don't take it with Brook. I remembered all this material from high school, but he is just really unclear and confusing. Although, he does make me laugh because he's old and senile. He repeats himself a lot and his rules are like being in high school. Don't take it with him

Don't take this class. Find someone else to teach you, to get your math credit. I found him to be alot like hs and he is defintly not clear or conscise on some of the things he teaches. I feel like he is more interested in spelling then teaching us.
Brook could be funny at times, but other times he's very moody and gets annoyed at everything.
He's nice if you talk to him after class, but sometimes he's just rude no matter what you do or say. Very unclear. Very strange. Loves to spell.
Boring, but fair in grading.
For a required math class it was pretty painless as far as workload. However the class itself was boring and Brook had a tendency to be unclear in his teaching at times. No explanation of grading on exam and test questions. Also was rude to students during class. If you can deal with him then this class is a breeze.
Bitter, hostile, angry. Openly insults students and ended class after having a meltdown for no apparent reason on more than one occasion. Work is not the worst possible math ever but if you aren't sure about the subject going into it, he sure isn't going to make it any clearer. Does not give partial credit although he claims he does. AWFUL.
