Mr. Bryant is the best teacher I have ever had. He makes history fun and exciting. Do all the work and you will do really well.
Very organized, good sense of humor, and very well read in his lecture. Not only did I enjoy his class, but I would take him again if I could. Just make an effort to study, and you will do well. Fair grader. Tests you only on what he covers. Nice man.
Very good teacher, funny, really excited about history
The only thing to say about this guy is...take his classes! He is awesome. Period.
Cool guy, always cracking jokes
Michael Bryan is an awesome teacher! He is the best teacher I've ever had, great sense of humor, patient, kinda random, and we had more hand outs on extra credit than material! If you take western civ, do the toga extra credit assignment, he'll love it!
One of the best teachers I have ever had! I'm not a big history buff, but his lectures were always so interesting and HILARIOUS that I was always surprised when class ended cause it seemed to fly by. Tests get harder over the semester but he offers TONS of opportunities for extra-credit. Ended up with an A.
Great Class.. He is halarious. I never liked history until I had him! Totally take this class.
I have never had so much fun as in his class. He is joking around the entire class. You won't go to sleep in there for sure.
I actually failed his class and i still highly recommend him to other people. He was an awesome teacher "when" i attended. If only that class hadn't of been at 9' something in the morning... If i take it again I will once again get him.
Mr. Bryan is THE BEST! His teaching style is very fun and interesting, you'd actually want to go to his class just to see what kind of jokes he'd say........His class is easy, although he gives TONS of hw/assignment. Just remember one thing, DONT MISS QUIZ DAY! it'll really bring ur grade down
The worst instructor ever, the material in this boring class was not even in the textbook! Worst class I've ever taken.
This is a very easy class and easy to pass; he also makes the class fun. I would recommend him to anyone.
I took history with Mike Bryan and have to say the man is hilarious and def. knows his stuff. His class was relatively easy and he gave study guides for all the tests, he's also willing to help if you're having difficulties writing the essay, etc. etc. Highly Recommended!!
I had his class with alot of my friends. We had so much fun and learned quite a bit. He's hilarious, too!!! I can't wait to have him again for 202.
A very good teacher. Not necessarily easy, there is alot of work and homework, but the wor is worth it just to go to class and see what he'll do next. Whether he's playing the voice of his Julius Caeser toy or acting like a neanderthal, you will absolutely remeber historical and hysterical lessons in this class. Take it.
My favorite teacher EVER!! I loved him so much that I arranged my whole spring schedule of classes around being able to take him for HIS 202! He made this class so fun and interesting. It is a very easy class too, as long as you actually show up for class, pay attention (it's not hard with him!) & do your required work. He makes history come alive!
Took Mr. B online and he is a really great instructor. Not only does he want you to succeed he gives you all the pointers you need along the way. I recommend anyone to take his class!
Mr. Bryan is hands down the best history teacher I've ever had. It's obvious that he has a fascination with the subject matter, and that zeal overflows into his class. He explains everything thoroughly and is willing to help. Mr. Bryan is hilarious, and it's almost impossible to fall asleep in his class. A must have teacher.
He's GREAT! Very fair! Very fair tests! I am not good at History, but he made it as interesting as possible. RECOMMENDED!!!!
Mr. Bryan was an awesome teacher! He was quick to respond to all questions, gave out extra credit for each unit, and gave everyone a hand. I TOTALLY enjoyed his online class! Best teacher I've had yet.
Great teacher to take class from. Tests were fair and rather easy. He gives a lot of extra grades such as quizes and papers. His quizzes are pop quizes. He also tells some of the corniest jokes. I would recommend this class if you want to learn and don't mind doing the work.
Great teacher!!! Took online class and loved it. It all comes from the book so read and re-read! Take the optional, non-graded quizzes because a lot of the test questions come from here. The tests were easy for me. This instructor is VERY involved with his online classes and makes your feel special, plus he's funny! =)
Very helpful teacher. Insightful, interesting, and enjoyable class
Took online class, LOTS of reading & notes. Does offer a lot of extra credit - make sure to take advantage of it. Several of his tests had questions from chapters we hadn't read yet. Other than that - very involved teacher online, you can always reach him and responds to emails quick. Good class tho.
Mr. Bryan's teaching style and my learning style meshed really well so I really enjoyed it. I didn't try really hard to pass, but an "A" isn't difficult to get. Plenty of opportunities to keep your grade high, keeps learning interesting, and is willing to explain differently if you don't get something right away.
I hate history, but this was hands down my favorite class. Great teacher.
Mr.Bryan is a good teacher. He gives alot of homework. I would recommend not to take this class in the summer. He also gives extra credit to help you out.
Lots of reading
I took this class online for the summer of 2011.....Never again, There is alot of reading, and I mean alot, The tests are hard, and the notes and study guides he gave us did not help. I passed the class but I will never take another history class online again. Overall he is a good teacher, and knows his history.
He makes history boring. His lectures have virtually nothing to do with his tests, his study guide is to the old books he used. Good luck emailing him for help.
HARD HARD HARD Teacher. There is NO WAY to make an A in this class. Tons of reading. The tests are so hard, there will be 0 questions on the test about something that was in the chapters like 20 times, BUT he will have like 5 questions about something that was 1 paragraph long. There are essays to write for this class too.Nice guy but too HARD.
He seems very disorganized, at least online. He didn't upload anything for several days after my other professors when the class began. LOTS of problems with wrong answers on quizzes and tests, and it's very difficult to get answers from/ communicate with him. He only checks his email twice during the week and once on the weekend (or so he says.)
I am taking the class online and he makes you a slave to the text book. You have to read alot. His tests are sneaky, and tricky. If you don't know the material front and back, you will not pass. He will give "practice exams" then slightly change the wording on the test just to mess you up. He will respond though, and if he is wrong, he will fix it.
I took him as an online course. There is a lot of reading but most history course have that. you get 3 shots at the quizzes for each chapter. the tests have to be taken at the testing center.
Professor Bryan is awesome. I am in his online condensed course (spring term) and I have nothing but positive reviews. He is extremely helpful and gives you so many options and chances to help improve your score. He is great about reminding you of things due, quizzes, and tests. Awesome professor!
He gives you three attempts for each quiz and counts the highest grade. He also offers plenty of opportunities for extra credit. His exams are extremely difficult and he is VERY unorganized. Pass this one by if you can.
He is the most unorganized professior I have ever had or seen. Very slow to post assignments. Never post discussion questions. Super slow at grading work. Would not recommend this professor.
If you do the work you will pass the class. All his quizzes are pop quizzes. Boring lectures, but fairly easy tests. Like a high school class with a lot more extra credit.
Decent teacher. He lets you take each quiz 3 times, which is good since they don't always go over things in lecture/book. Tests are direct from quizzes. Tests each have a 5 paragraph essay-if writing is a weak point, don't take. Overall, easy class.
His tests are awful - each test includes a required 5 paragraph essay. He is one of those teachers that go out of his way to make the class extra difficult. I dislike teachers like that, I think it is a total abuse of power. Take someone else's class!!!!
Took this class online. Can take quizzes three times and keep highest grade. Tests really hard. I suggest writing the quiz questions down and studying them for the test, they may be on there. No other way to study for tests except reading lonnnnggg chapters in book. Seems like a nice guy but hardly responds to emails. Corse is pretty disorganized.
Seems his class has changed since the 2012 posts. I found his online class very organized and THE MOST informative & organized set up for an online class. Class isn't complicated, but he gives a ton of info probably because that Many Europes book was horrible.Discussion questions helps for the tests. No dates to remember!May God bless Dr. Weber!
Not a hard class. He provides dialogue type lectures you can print out and read instead of staring at a screen the whole time. He gives you the link to other online lectures which are extremely helpful. I liked the documentaries he provided as well. Tests have 5 paragraph essay but he gives you the information about what to expect was in advance.
If you can avoid taking his class, do it. You pretty much teach yourself the material and if you ask anything, via email, blackboard, or calling, do not expect a response for 2-3 days.
Lots of reading, and even if you do all of it, there is information on the tests that isn't covered. Slow to return grades. If you are taking an online course with this professor make sure you take all of the online quizzes.
Not a bad class. It would be wise to do the learn smarts and read the chapter. Also beware of pop quiz's!!!
Great online class, but more work than I was expecting. Must read textbook, lecture notes, complete LearnSmart assignments, write discussion paragraphs, take practice quizzes, etc. Make SURE to take quizzes as many times as possible and I suggest writing the information down to study for tests - it will help! Good class and helpful professor.
I took His 201 and His 202 with him and it was great. He is a very great teacher and gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. As long as you do all of the assignments and LearnSmart modules, you'll be good. Beware of pop quizzes though.
Mr. Bryan is a really good instructor. He responds to emails quickly and is always helpful. This class was a lot of work, though, and was very time consuming. You basically read the entire textbook. He does have helpful lectures and videos for a subject that is sometimes hard to understand. Be prepared for essays though - there's one on each test.
One of the best History Professors I've ever had. He uses a lot of modules and material to help study for test and quizzes. He gives quizzes often so beware. He does provide all of the materials needed to be successful.
Very nice and funny. Gives good lectures and shows us documentaries. Beware of many pop quizzes. Read your textbook!
I took this class online and although it is a lot of work, if you complete it all you will more than likely get an A as long as you follow his instructions.
He is very funny and makes a lot of jokes to help students learn. You HAVE to read the textbook to get an A. Gives out extra credit very often, but beware of his "point builders"/pop quizzes.
He's a hilarious and fun teacher. Loves history. Make sure you know the material because pop quizzes ("point builders") are almost weekly.
If you do the work and try to learn you will do fine in his class. His course is very organized and he is always available if you need help.
This online class was my hardest class all semester. You have to read the chapters and learn 4 chapters worth of material and then remember all that and go to the testing center to take the tests. Most people in my class didnt score well but Mr. Bryan did give a curve on almost every test. He is nice and cares but the class is just too hard online.
This is one of the hardest classes I've taken but it IS possible to get a good grade if you are willing to work hard and keep up with all of his reading homework (about 3 different sources besides the textbook). His study guides help a lot for his tests, as do the quizzes. You can tell he loves history! Good class, but be prepared to work for it!
Don't take his class online. He'll hand you more dead links, removed videos, and defunct webpages to use as "sources" than you can count. Gives out near-weekly writing assignments just to take forever to grade them, or to forget to approve them in the first place. Curves to kingdom come if you just want an A and can deal with the frustration.
Mr. Bryan was epic. He is hilarious and gives great feedback but watch out for his point builder assignments (pop quizzes), but if you are paying attention in class, you won't have a problem.
Professor Bryan is a solid professor and is very funny. The only thing that bother me was his consist jokes about President Trump. He was a little too political, but besides that he was a good professor.
Prof Bryan was a great dude, super easy work but you HAVE to read the textbook. PP are super limited on info, more of a talking in lecture guy. Missing class isn't a big deal though, post anything you would miss online. Lots of pop quizzes but they're easy and good grade builders. Every assignment/test has extra credit options. Def a good choice.
This guy assigned so much work. Do not take Unless you wanna learn about boring stuff for 9 hours a day
Do not take his class online. You HAD to rely on the textbook to learn the material. There were no lectures; just tons of reading. Be sure to read the assigned pages thoroughly because even the smallest detail can be included in the exam. Luckily, he is an understanding professor, but it would have been better if it was face-to-face instruction.
Michael Bryan is hands-down in my top 3 professors I have ever had at Tech. He is hilarious and keeps you engaged during each lecture which is pretty hard to find these days. He was always accessible outside of class and his assignments were never too difficult and he is always willing to help out if you need it. 10/10 Great guy.
Super easy if you do the work. Lets you take quizzes three times and records highest score. Havent taken him in person, but online was so easy. Tests are hard though
Pr Bryan gave a lot of extra credit. The test were fairly easy and his lectures are very interesting, entertaining, and educational. Highly recommend this professor.
This is another class where you have to teach yourself, go ahead and get ready to use a lot of YouTube, he gives you outlines and hw but no spoken lectures (which would be helpful)honorlock is mandatory. Tests are hard & not enough information is given to study. I made it through because of YouTube. Im a straight A student and got a 50 my 1st test
This class is so much reading. Summer online classes are always harder, as they're more compressed, but this class was too much for me. Even though there are multiple extra credit options, 5 quizzes the first week of school?? and the chapters are way too long for such a short amount of time.
Online course sucks. Doesn't make any video lectures, his written 'lectures' were updated in 2015, its 2021. Quizzes reference questions from some obscure PBS series that doesn't follow the book at all. His 'study guides' are horrible, he uses the discussions tab Horribly. I don't know where to look to study correctly. Don't take his online course
The online course has no lectures but you can take the chapter quizzes three times each. I made it a point to make quizlets with those so I could study them because theyre the test questions! If you do this you will do well. Overall its an easy course as long as you stay on top of your textbook work and unit quizzes.
This class was very textbook, literally and metaphorically. He used the textbook for pretty much everything, and the class had the same structure all semester: Start the unit, do 3 or so homework assignments, take a quiz, do 2 more homework assignments, and take a test. If you don't learn from a textbook well, this class will be awful.
He's a cool teacher and makes lectures funny and interesting. Overall a good teacher.
For people seriously into history (lots of reading). GREAT teacher if you follow his instructions, offers both +4 extra credit for every test, AND usually bumps up grades a full letter when curving. Only one essay mid-semester. Complete quizzes until you get 100. I'm making a 94% in this class.
He expects us to Write these discussion answers but when we do he wants it directly from the textbook but when we do that he says you are not learning anything and gives you a 0, but when you write it from your own knowledge he gives you a 0,then write 5 paragraph essay and 76 multiple choice questions and expects you to do it within 30 minutes.
The pattern of work was easy to understand, and was consistent. He had big personality that some might call cheesy, but trust me, cheesy is so much better than the alternatives it's not even funny. He was a great professor, and gave stellar feedback even on small assignments. No harsh grading, and test questions won't try to trick you.
His online courses follow the same schedule every week. 1 or 2 Smartbook assignment and Quizzes each week. He gives you the entire unit to get them completed, but you have to show active participation for attendance. You get multiple attempts on quizzes. Study the quizzes- they are the test! One essay for the semester. Super easy class!
There are no lectures in this class so if reading the textbook isn't your thing I would not recommend this class. The assignments were pretty simple you just have to read and answer questions on Smartbook as well as take the quizzes he made on Blackboard. As for tests, they were difficult but he usually curves all of them anyways.
Michael's first priority is of his students, if you don't understand something he goes through it again, if you need time extra he'll give it to you, as long as it's somewhat of a good excuse. He's a great guy, fun teacher, and it would be hard for you not to get an A in the class, as long as you turn in your homework and pay attention for the quiz
It was hard to do discussion boards or essays because he would typically forget to upload a prompt until halfway through the week. Communication was also lacking and responses took a long time.
Professor Bryan was extremely easy. If your goal is just to get a good grade he is a no-brainer. However, if you really want to learn and have an interesting class I think there are better options. He didn't teach that well in my opinion, but he is easy.
Professor Bryan is not a good professor! I took his class over the 2023 summer and I have never been so frustrated with a class. The work he assigns is ALOT, but the tests are easy. He does not teach the class, just assigns work. He does not respond to emails. He wants everything done on a certain day, but cannot get back to an email.
Professor Bryan is a hard grader. Probably the hardest I've had thus far. He sometimes doesn't give you enough time to do work and work can be due on random days of the week. Example: telling you about a reading module on a Friday that's due that Monday. He also expects students to be *scholars* in a sense. He also doesn't respond timely to emails.
Most of the material is learned through the book and homework. The tests were easy and there were extra credit opportunities for each unit. He got back to me quickly if I had a question.
He is a great professor. There is a lecture every class that there is not a test, however, he makes his lectures funny and interesting.
I enjoyed the professor overall although the course was quite hard. The course had little to no grades so if you made a bad grade it was quite difficult to bring it back up. He did offer Extra Credit which was helpful. Also if you are the type to not read the course material in online courses this class will be difficult.
You must read and take notes to do well in this class. A lot of extra credit opportunities are provided for tests and even the exam. Usually gives a curve on tests too. If you just make an effort, you will definitely pass. Prof Bryan also provides entertaining videos to watch to help with the material and makes history interesting to learn.
Mr. Bryan is a great teacher. Lectures can get boring but he is funny and the class moves fairly quickly. There is a bit of work and studying involved for tests, but overall it is not a very difficult class.
Incredible professor. He gives great lectures and tries to make the subject as interesting as possible. He's a big in class assignment person. It felt like almost every class you had something new due. He updates you, thankfully but he does pile on the assignments so make sure you actually show up to class. Overall, I would highly recommend
Mr. Bryan was a great professor! He offers a ton of easy extra credit. There is a decent amount of homework and the smart book modules can take a while to finish. Overall, I would take this class again and recommend Mr. Bryan for this course.
He is very disorganized, compared to other instructors who make Sunday their main due date, Bryan has assignments due all through the week & will randomly assign extra assignments through the week. Having 4 reading mods, 4 quizzes, a test, and an essay all due in 7 days is not an appropriate teaching method. No lectures, just linked youtube videos.
Mr. Bryan is one of the funniest professors that I have ever had! His class is not hard and he makes sure to give us assignments to help us understand the content better. His tests are easy and he gives good and honest feedback on every assignment. Overall, an amazing professor and I would highly recommend taking his class.
I hated this class. Professor Bryan made assignments due on random days and sometimes he wouldn't give enough time to complete them. Tests are EXTREMELY textbook-heavy and he posted no notes/recorded lectures. However, he is kind and you can succeed if you put in the work. But if you are looking for an easy, low-effort elective, this is not it.
Prof. Bryan brings history to life with engaging lectures and a fair grading system. While there's a lot of work, Unstuckstudy and the textbook are great study aids. I'd recommend this class to anyone looking to learn in a fun, supportive environment.
GREAT guy! Plenty of extra credit opportunities available, study guides provided, clear instructions on assignments, all the good things. While he does use slides (available online to students) to lecture, he makes it very engaging and entertaining. I highly recommend him as a professor.
Professor Bryan gives you extra credit up to 4 extra points on each exam just for watching relevant movies or documentaries and writing a review. On top of that, he often curves the exams to give everyone a few more points. If you do your work, which honestly isn't much for college, it's an easy A. Great guy, take the course.
Mr. Bryan is just all around a great teacher and a great guy. If you show up to lectures and pay attention you will be good for most of his grades. I do recommend going over the textbook before test and quizzes because there are some specifics that he only covers once in class.
Great guy, good online class would definitely take
Hilarious professor! There is a lot of homework, but the work isn't difficult to do. He offers tons of extra credit, so your grade is safe if you do the work. I'd definitely take this class again.
