Very hard tests! He used to be easy... but has changed this year. No assignments, just tests!

Very informed about what he teaches. Tests are ralatively easy but his essay tests are difficult if you don't know what he wants.

Excellent prof, his lectures are fun and interesting while very informative. Going to class is essential to pass tests, which aren't too difficult if you just take notes.

Funny guy. Not too many assignments, mainly tests. Does give extra credit opportunities.

Excellent knowledge of the material, relates it very well in an easy to understand format. Few assignments, several tests but easy to pass with notes. Attendance in class is a MUST!

Great professor, you don't need to read a page in the book to get a good grade. ( I got a 3.9 and did almost nothing to prep for any tests. ) Again, like everyone has said, he wants you to pass, he's funny, and very nice.

Awesome Prof! Grade is mainly based on tests and two papers, however does give a few extra credit opportunities. I got a 4.0 in the class and didn't read one word out of the book. Tests are all off of notes, take good notes and tests are easy. Final was extremely easy

Excellent class. Surprisingly, no assignments, only tests, and tests are fairly difficult(better be good at tests!) Go to class lectures regularly and do readings, and you will do very well. Buckley is a solid teacher with a wry sense of humor.

Charismatic and well-organized. Great class! Adequately challenging with no surprises. He might be a liberal, but hes fair and has an open mind.

Awesome prof! His class was easy. Tests only, all multiple choice, minimal studying needed. I got a 3.7 from his class. Keep your exams, the questions are word for word on the final. Really cares about students, and his subject. Cancels class a lot, which is cool. I'd take it again if I could!

Buckley makes government at least half way interesting, which says a lot about him. He brings in current info that makes the class interesting, and warns the class well aware of when tests are going to be. The book helps, but isn't always necessary. Attendance is important b/c tests are based on notes, but he does cancel class pretty frequently.

Awesome prof. If I was still at EWU, I would try to take some more classes from him.

This class was so easy the tests are all multiple choice and the final is a sinch. The tests are based on notes and he tells you what to know for the test. Take him!

Very good teacher, makes government very interesting and he also puts some of his own thoughts in it. The test are a sinch and the final is just a combination of some of the questions off the other test. Just study. If you study its a guaranteed 3.5 or higher

Awesome class! He is capable of understanding both sides of an issue. He listens to what you have to say and values the responses he gets. It was the one class fall quarter I enjoyed going to.

He teaches without forcing his opinions on politics, but encourages us to think for ourselves to diverge out own opinion.

I loved this class. It was my second time taking Government (don't take it from May). Buckley makes lectures very interesting!

Buckley makes this class very interesting and is very enthusiastic about the subject. He has a good sence of humor, which keeps you awake in the mornings! His tests are multiple choice, but are still tricky, so dont take them for granted. Lots of notetaking, but he makes it fun to learn.

It's easy to understand what he is saying, but I think that his tests are very hard. He uses big words and says that he doesn't try to confuse you, but they confused me even when I thought I knew it all. But I still learned a lot. He cancels class a lot, so if you go when you need to you won't fail.

i love passionate teachers and he is diffinitly one of them. He makes sure to have and keep your attention. You learn a lot and as long as you attend class you'll do fine b/c the book alone won't help you much on the test. Plus, he ain't bad to look at!

Buckley was a very interesting teacher. He grades his tests fairly. Attending lectures is more important than reading material. If you've taken AP US Hist or Civics, you won't learn anything new, however you may be intrigued by hearing a new perspective. Teacher actually seems intelligent and interested in his subject!

Buckley was a great teacher. Although I'm completely conservative, and he had more than a few hints that said he was a liberal, it was an okay political science class. He never let his views interfere with the class. He was very open-minded and open to discussion and valued other peoples' opinions. The material was interesting. Easy A.

good lectures, some-what interesting, pay close attention-alot of what he says is on the tests. read the book too! he puts alot from there too on the tests. also, learn what you study, his tests are very thought provoking so memorizing facts just won't help you. go to every class- notes are a must for the tests!

Great Guy. Interesting lectures. Only has class 4 days a week. Don't really need the book. Fair tests. No homework. Intelligent guy with an interesting perspective. Allows students to debate with eachother which is fun. Take this class with him.

Everything is based off notes and he sometimes goes to fast for note taking.

I think this guy is bipolar or something. One day you're laughing at him and he can be really nice, but then the next day he comes off as the most arrogant guy ever! If you don't like government, I would STRONGLY suggest not taking this class!

Even though it's a required class and he's probably taught it forever, he imparts a real enthusiasm for the subject. I almost wish I could change my major. Fair and respectful...and okay, I thought he is hot too.

Awesome prof. Really has a passion for the subject, and is extremely knowledgeable. Weekly blackboard discussions, class 4 days a week, straightforward PowerPoint lectures. The tests are pretty easy if you attend class and take notes, but attendance isn't mandatory. I really learned a lot from this class.

Pretty good class overall..I personally HATE government and American history but he made it easier. Sometimes he talks a bit fast but just print the notes out from BB beforehand and you'll be fine. His tests are HARD, but then again, I've never been good at tests. Still, if you're willing to put in the effot, he is VERY accomidating.

Good class. I learned a lot, even though I hate government and American history. Buckley is a good teacher but you just have to go to class, take good notes, do the discussions, and read the chapters in the text. If you put in the effot, he'll be totally accomidating. The only reason people have trouble is when they sit in the back and screw off.

This classing is very interesting and Dr. Buckley makes it very fun! He's an awesome professor!

He was a great teacher. He used powerpoints that were easy to understand and took time to ansower any question you have.I learnt alot in that class and he was even pretty nice guy, actually talked to us about his own resarch and made jokes

Really knows his stuff, and has some really interesting information to share. All tests were online which is always a bonus. For the most part I liked him, he can go off on some students for talking/texting/sleeping during his lectures which is understandable, just don't piss him off.

Great professor. Lectures are cohesive, and he takes time to explain everything and discuss any questions. Weekly assignments super easy, but tests are hard, so go to class, pay attention, and take notes if you want to pass.

Nice guy, really knows what he is talking about. Allows the students to keep their own political opinions and makes sure everybody feels comfortable with those opinions. As for the bads, he is very quick paced, and even though the tests are multiple choice, they are really difficult. I suggest lots and lots of study time. Good guy all around.

I really liked this teacher. Yes he is fast paced, but you can find the Power Points online if you are a slow note taker. The tests were not difficult for me because I took good notes, studied well and paid attention to his class lectures. He was never rude to me when I asked for individual help.

Very passionate (he wrote the text) and knowledgeable! Read the chapters for each test and study and you will be fine. Don't be late (he hates it and will remember you) and participate and it's an you will get 3.5 or better! He's great looking, too ;)

Easy class if you attend and take good notes. I suggest printing off power points so that way note taking is not hard. You must read the chapters to do well on the tests but as long as you study you will do fine. He is super attractive and professional! His casual Friday outfits are the best.

this is a really nice professor. I like how he always canceled class because of his meetings and such. In order to get a B or greater on the test, you must take good notes. Make sure to write down the things that he says. Attend class all the time and he will like you. Answer his questions. He is very clear and knows his stuff.

Fantastic professor. I took GOVT 100 from him, and prior to the class, I didn't know a thing about government. He is clear and concise in his lectures. Assignments are very short and easy and are online. If you show up to class most days, take notes off of his powerpoints, and read the chapters, you actually have to try not to get a 3.5 or higher.

Super cool professor. Knows his material very well and will repeat, clarify or add more detail if asked. Tests are all multiple choice, drops lowest test score, and notes provided online. Easy homework. Sit in the front row and he will like you.

One the best professors I have ever had in college. He lectures clearly and allows questions to be asked. Classes are very engaging and he drops the lowest test score. He also offers extra credit and skips class a lot so you have less government content to study. I want to take another class from him because I got a 4.0!!! I loved taking government

Professor knows his material by heart and stays up to date on all the GOV materials. However he speaks real fast in class and moves through things at 100 mph or so it seems. Sit up front and ask questions no matter how little or lot you are confused. Study and read the chapters and then use notes to revise everything. Tests are multiple choice.

Best professor I've ever had. He talks a little fast but it trains your brain to understand more complex ideas in the real world. &He is sympathetic if you have questions. I truly believe that anyone who gave this professor a bad score just aren't ready to be in college. Go back to high school if you cant handle him because he's the best you'll get

Best teacher I have ever had. Hands down. Hes funny, and and you actually USE what he teaches you. He might come off as a bit of a hard-ass, but he is extremely kind once you get to know him. Go talk to him if you think the test was unfair, he will always bump your grade :) I would take every class he taught if I could.

This class was actually a fun one. There is a lot to take in but if you read the materials, do your homework, and I emphasize this heavily, take him up on the zoom sessions if you take his course online, you will have no problems passing. He strives for students to pass and learn as well. Do NOT wait for the last minute to read materials.
