don't know what's goin to be on tests at all, funny guy but that's where it ends. curve is a killer!

The only thing not so good is that he uses same jokes from quarter to quarter, can he think about new one?
Nice teacher, but the exams are tricky and difficult.
tests are too tricky, not straight foward
such a nice guy, but lectures can be so slow...not hard to pull off a passing grade
pretty funny, but the curve kills ya
everyone always makes a big deal about econ teachers being hard. their curves are ridiculously easy to fall into a grade range of 2 grades higher, so earn an F and receive a C... earn a C, get an A, maybe a B at the least. take him- he's funny.

He curves, that's what make the class strange
the tests are way difficult. The curve kills you in the long run unless ur one of the top students. The tests arent relevant to the subject matter and its hard to understand the questions. I suggest u take someone else, although he is a nice teacher.
great teacher. pretty easy class, just do the readings and use the study guide
his curve is insane! i must of failed every single test that i took and the curve moved it to a C! dont bother going to class everyday because he is boring and lectures completely different from the book. read on your own. his jokes are also lame!
He's really funny and I had a great time in his class. His lectures got boring at times, but I ignore the other people - I actually enjoyed his quaint stories and jokes. I didn't study or read ANYTHING the whole quarter and I passed with a C!!!
silly guy, but boring when he talks about econ
Dude this guy doesn't really go by the book. He makes you read the book yourself. His tests are diff. than his lectures. He has 2 session tests. It's hard stuff.... GL!
his tests have lots of trick questions in them. His curve messes you up. IF you take him you are not guaranteed an A.
Bull is dull.
He has a dry sense of humor. Nice guy, but not a good teacher. He goes off topic all the time in class...and expects you to prep/read on your own for his exams. He advertises the stupid study guide and encourage people to spend $on 'em( and scantrons, too
Simply put: don't take his class, waste of time and energy. good person but does not know how to teach.
He is a nice teacher, but he is HARD!!!! Don't take econ with him.
he's a funny guy, nice even, but his anecdotes are rarely insightful and often off-topic. what i found helpful was reading the chapters during his class lectures. don't expect him to cover or even summarize the chapters. just read and teach yourself.
He is the best teacher I've ever met in DE ANZA. He gives very good lectures. And if you just follow his instructions, you'll learn a lot! His tests are not easy, though. Students who want to choose econ major had better take his classes because you'll ge
If you plan to major in Econ, choose this teacher, you'll learn a lot from him. Obviously, you have to put much efforts on your study. But if you just take it as a GE class, find a easier teacher.
funny cool guy.. but test and class is hard.
The class is book and self-study based. The Class lectures hardly help. Bull often goes off on a tangent and tells jokes. not always bad to hear. grades on a curve. more time spent studying = higher grade. not a bad teacher if youre willing to work.
bull is an excellent teacher, you have to read the book and prepare for exams, which is fairly typical for college classes. the study guides are great help and Bull is willing to go over it with you individually.
Fun teacher but hard. Tests are very hard. He does grade on a curve but that will only help you pass the class. A is possible with a lot of luck and hard work. Buy the study guide and you should be able to pass if you learn the questions. Experienced prof

Mr. Bull is one of the coolest teachers I've ever had at De Anza. He is funny which makes his lectures interesting. However, you do have to read the book and work the study guides cuz the tests are not that easy. Read the book and you'll be OK
I have to admit this teacher gives the hardest test ever. Linear alegebra and o-chem tests are way easier than his econ tests. His lectures seldom help at all. He grades on a % curve, which is easy for a C or lower but really tough for an A or B.AVOID!!!!
boring lectures, hard tests, would not recommend to anyone
Bull is very boring. He's always going off topic and it all depends on how much you study. DO THE STUDY GUIDES! They can help you out a great deal. I wouldn't really recommend him. I
need to read the book and do the study guilds in order to get the grade. the class is common sence but tests are worded in ways that make them EXTREMLY tuff. his curve makes it an easy C.
lectures hardly help at all plus its super boring, gives very hard tests period. grades on a curve which is easy for a C and lower, but extremely hard for an B or A. find someone else easier, don't say i didn't warn you
This is one of the most boring teachers I have ever had. He sounds like Kermit the frog. He once mentioned how ~ 30,000 people die from car accidents each year.. and asked "can you imagine what that does for production?" He needs to learn et
if you want an A or B in this class, dream on. i hate his lectures 'cause they are so boring and his damn tests are impossible to aced. take someone else for econ, you don't learn anything from him
Not an easy teacher. If you want an A take someone else. He is a little helpful if you go to office hours for help. Overall a nice guy, but not easy.
this guy sucks, he talks too much and goes off topic all the time. hes stupid
his lectures are very boring. homework is limited to reading the materials in books. tests are based entirely on reading. thus, attendence and test grades make up final grade.
Kinda dorky guy, real nice guy, hes a pretty good teacher, he explains everything thoroughly and gives good real life examples, funny but like i said, dorky.
this teacher shouldn't get higher than a 2 for easiness, NOT LIEING!!! his tests are the hardest you'll ever take. as for lectures, they rarely help plus his voice makes people want to go to sleep. take someone else
Real sweet professor with really corny jokes! :D He's a fair grader and he covers the matierial thourougly. Just read the book and study and you'll do fine. He can be boring and sometimes makes his students stay overtime but he's cool overall.

Professor Bull is VERY smart about what he's teaching. The guy doesn't even use notes! He is tough BUT he grades on a curve that will help you so much. It might be very hard to get an A but a B or a C will not be hard to obtain. Take him over Mack.
I have to agree and disagree with this person below. Mr. Bull does use notes for his lectures. He has his notes already written out and he basically copies it over onto the board. For exams, it is very hard like his person said. Very hard for an A or B.
Easy to get a C, tough to get an A. His tests are challenging, and well thought. He probably puts more effort into a multiple choice test than any other professor. He’s smart and knowledgeable. Read + Use Study Guide = B
Very nice and helpful, only grades are from test scores so pretty nice
Like everyone said, hard tests, but he does grade on a curve which is easy for a C. But extremely hard to get an A. If you want an A, think of another professor. Overall, his lectures don't help at all so you have to read the book and teach yourself. C-

YOU WILL NOT LEARN ANYTHING from this teacher. Just a waste of time. "I WILL NOT TAKE HIS CLASS AGAIN"
BULL is not COOL, he is very DULL. His tests are HARD, it makes me look like a RETARD. I regret taking his CLASS, because he's a pain in the ASS.
He really knows what he is talking about. I'm an econ major and found his class very interesting. He does his best to make it interesting to the students. Not easy but life isn't that way
Very hard tests, tells a lot of stories ad not much of econ stuff, class is very boring.
He is a very nice teacher, but his exams are extremely hard... He lectures consist of terminology definitions and explanations of theories, and so on, but his test all consist of application of theories and problem solving.
Prof. Bull is very smart when it comes to economics and cares a lot about his students. He's very tough but his curve REALLY helps you. He takes his time with problems, answers questions, and help you learn a lot about ECON. Great but not easy teacher.
bull's appearnace is very disturbing (especially the way he drinks his water). Class is boring consisting of about 10 min of lechure and the rest a buncha crap. Exams are EXTREMELY difficult do to his wording. Do not take this teacher! grade:b
Their right, the way he drinks from his water bottle is almost****erse. But after getting a "B" in micro and now, finally, an "A" in macro the material you do retain is pertinent in real life and $worth$ it.
Glad I dropped his class. Couldn't understand him at all. Take the econ classes with Zill.
This is the epitome of the word "boring". He sidetracks too much and the grading curve is not good. The tests are okay but your grade is based on a curve among all his sections. Don't take him unless you want to put some effort into the class
i swear this guy rates himself, he's the hardest piece of (blank) i've ever taken. avoid at all costs if you don't want to ruin your gpa and life. if you're reading this bull, i never believe in god so see you in you know where! :(
like all econ teacher at de anza. none can teach at all. they say one thing and the test is in another language structure that is very hard to understand. go take econ at foothill or san jose city.
Mr Bull is great. If you do the reading and attend classes it can be easy. Some material is tough but he will help you always.
Good Teacher. Do your reading a listen i class and you'll be fine. Don't take if your a slacker and don't care about learning.
I agree with one previous writer. De Anza needs to fire the Econ staff before they ruin any more academic and learning careers for the up coming students. Bull does nothing but tell you how successful he is. Always "loses" test so you get some kind of made up phantom score. Dont take Econ here
terrible, if u want get D or F for your GPT, take his class then.
not very clear; goes off on random stories; "enjoys seeing students suffer"
If you are a lazy slacker, don't bother. If you actually want to learn, or you are a business major, accounting major, econ major, etc. - then you MUST take Bull. His class is a little harder, but he also works hard for the students. His class is the best for preparing you for university level work.
He is the best econ. teacher at De Anza. If you want to learn about the subject take him. If you just want to get through the course and forget it, take it from someone else. This class requires that you really study, but you also really learn.
Nice guy, but his exams are REALLY hard. Very helpful, but still, you will find his exams a killer. Grading system might pull yr grade a step up. No h/work.Extra 15 points for attendence. Those who mess up the exams, make sure u attend his lectures, so u'll get the extra points to pull up yr grade.
Do not take Bull if you want to pass this class. Exams are a nightmare! No matter how much u study, you cannot feel that you've done yr best. He's a nice guy, but teaching methods and exams are really messed up.Not recommended.
His tests are REALLY hard and its hard to pay attention to his lectures because he is so boring. He's a nice teacher but tends to go off topic a lot.
Dun take him! He is an expert on ruining student's transcript. It is impossible to get an A in his class.
While many here say this is a impossible class I would like to point out that its not. If you really do the reading and pay attention its easy. Get a tutor if its that hard. Econonics is not an easy subject but Bull makes a lot of it very clear. No matter what he makes 10-15% A's, 25% B's, 40% C's
Bull sucks. Cannot TEACH the subject. Very boring and hard to get into because he cannot teach the subjuct. Test are pretty hard but tend to be over rated. The way he grades is rediculous. Don't suggest taking Bull unless you are very good at econ because you would only ahve to show up for the tests
I don't know why everyone is giving Bull s**t. Econ is a hard subject, however, with Bull you can learn a lot and pass the exams. Honestly, his exams are not that tough if you pay attention in class.
very easy. no work to do except 3 exams and a final(MC). Highly recommend for those who don't like to go to class.
I liked him enough for Macro so I took him again for micro. He gives good examples of what he is teaching, is very helpful, and overall a pretty nice guy. Your grade is based pretty much entirely on the 4 exams though so if you don't like that, he's not for you.
Mr. Bull is a very nice guy, but his lectures make you feel like you're back in jr. high, and he's incredibly boring. His tests are nothing like what he covers in class, but they're manageable with the curve. If you are an Econ major, I recommend someone else...but for GE, an easy, breezy class.
omg...his lectures are so useless! he spends half the class talking about the most randomest things! don't take him! u won't learn anything! the only way i prepared for the tests was through reading the book! Mr. Bull is a nice guy and has an awesome curve for his tests..but he's not a good teacher.
Prof Bull's a great person but his lectures are in fact a bit useless due to the fact that half the tiime he's talking bout stuff other than economics. When he tries to explain, I still don't get it. The tests are good with the grading curve but I still haven't learned much.
Mr. Bull is very nice but confusing. Lectures are useless- read book and use study guide. Go to class tho 4 attendance points. His class wasn't that bad but if you don't like studying or trying to figure things our yourself, don't bother. Class curve helps grade.
I thought his lectures were interesting and helpful. He's kind of funny. Just make sure you understand what's in the book and you'll get an A.
Bull is a cool dude. Don't need to show up for class, so thats a + if, like me, you dont like wasting your time at deanza. The curve is very generous, so if you attend class and pay attention you should be able to get a B just with what you picked up. His exams are based on lecture and study guide.
very nice guy, too bad his jokes are bad. he is helpful and passiionate. he enjoys teaching you can tell, the material is not that hard and his lecture is great, however, he uses every minute of class time, and the last 5 mins are so slow. overall i would recommend mr. bull for econ 2, curve is great probably saved many people. just read the book.
amazing teacher, pretty easy, easy A, easygoing guy
Good lectures, need to study to do well. If you do what he asks to, its an A.
Great guy and teacher. You have too study to do good, but goodluck finding a better Econ teacher at DeAnza. He has a curve, which helps a lot of students and it is not too hard if you read. His jokes are pretty bad, but its still entertaining to laugh at him.
The class gets pretty confusing. You need to practice with the study guide if you want to do well. The curve helps a lot. Nice guy.
With the curve, if you do the readings and practice problems with the study guide, you shouldn't have any problem. He knows what he's talking about. Sometimes he'll drift off topic but what he says is often pretty important, even if it's not part of the class material.
His exams are a bit hard, but you'll do fine if you read the book and practice with the studyguide. Grade is on a curve. He explains the material well enough for you to understand. One of the best teacher at DeAnza.
forget his downward curve, he sucks. always talk about his geneiue pigs around his backyard or something. easily get irritated, has some attitude problem. LEAVE DE ANZA D*** it! TAKE SOMEONE ELSE FOR ECON he surely is THe WORST Econ Instructor!
PRETTY EASY IF YOU READ THE BOOK AND DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS. ECON IS PRETTY EASY COMPARED TO SAY CALCULAS. CURVE IS VERY HELPFUL, NO ONE ACES THE TESTS. NOTE THAT ONLY 16% OF THE CLASS CAN GET AN A. NOT GREAT AT JOKES AND ACTS GOOFY. OVERALL HE IS A GOOD ECON TEACHER. ONLY GRIPE IS THAT HE MADE US WAIT A HOUR ON FINALS DAY. HE SAID HE FORGOT..
Beware: he goes off topic ALL THE TIME!!! I think 90% of the time, it's not worth going to his class except to get participation points. He talks more about his life rather than Economics. As for his tests, study the book as much as possible. He was 1 1/2 hrs late to the final and still made everyone stay until they're done. Jerk.
reads notes and presents overheads..day after day!!
Good Lecturer, clearly explains subject. A bit odd at times, but his anecdotes just about always have some relevance to the class. Just keep up with the reading and go to class and you're in the clear for an easy B or a fairly easy A. Study some and your grade is secure. Just watch how he drinks his water... a bit like Napolean Dynamite =)
Very clear lecturer. His overheads and detailed explanations are of great value. The part that sucks is he does not go over everything in the book. Study the book and study guides very hard for his tests, they aren't entirely easy. He doesn't go "off-topic" as much as he gave explanatory anecdotes. Really great teacher, you just have to study.
He is a very happy, inspirational person. Even if you haven't read a book before class it is still fun, and it would almost guarantee you an A in class if you read the book before class. His stories and jokes might not make any sense at first even though most of them are funny, but after a little while you'll get them, having better understanding o
pretty hard tests, classes boring... u have to study really hard for an A
Mr. Bull is not for everyone. His tests are hard, and the fact that he doesn't cover all the work in class can really get to you. Besides that, Mr. Bull communicates clearly, has true insight of the field, and constantly makes connections between the book and current events. Do the reading each time and study HARD. Mr. Bull is a medium B/tuff A.
He tries really hard to make his lectures interesting, but it didn't work for me. Tests are pretty easy if you're willing to put a little work into knowing the material. Overall pretty good; nothing memorable, though.
you will fall asleep in this class. Hard tests
soooo boring. i feel asleep every day then i just stoped coming. lectures are boring. his stories are boring. kinda out of touch with the students. he would talk to all of use and no one would respond. except for the brown nosers. you have to read the chapters to pass the tests. breaks up tests 1.5ch for 2 days. boring dont take him.
This guy is horrible. Not only he is boring but he can't reason with anybody. One of the guy disagreed with Bull in the class, Bull threaten the guy to drop the class if not he will fail the guy.
Lectures are very poorly structured. He needs organization. Test are not too difficult, but listening to him ramble about nothing can get really difficult. NOT RECCOMENDED.
Bull's lectures are full of Bullcrap! useless lectures and he takes attendence! talks funny but really not helpful for econ. exams r based on a curve, so only 10% of his students can get A no matter how hard u work. only good thing is - no hw. but ur gonna have to read the book for the exams so i guess that defeats the purpose of no hw. DONT TAKE!!
is egoistic, but a good teacher in the sense that he is quite "precise" and doesn't leave room for ambiguity. but i wish he covered more material in class. i also wish he was more open-minded and presented controversial topics objectively.
Not an easy one but really helpful. I don't major in econ and i am an ESL student but still got an A. His jokes are not that bad...and connects to the concepts( make it easy to remember). He really knows waht he is talking about. if you study hard you will easily get an B. He expects you to know the concept so well. Nice guy. Recommended anyway
i like his english accent. he speaks english clearly but unfortunately doesnt teach clearly. his exams are not easy and you;ve got to put an effort to get an A in his class.
Hard, Struggled for that "C" his theroy is "WoW no one got a perfect score, Becuase no one is perfect therefore no one should get perfect screo, if someone got perfect, I MAKE THE TEST HARDER" Thats exactly what he said!!! AVOID !!!!!
The class consists of 4 exams, including a non-comprehensive final. The exams are graded on a curve, which means 75% of the class will end up with a B or better. He's a nice guy and is always willing to help students it seems. Tells really corny jokes though. Laugh at them to get on his good side.
his final is harder than the normal exam i think.. but he is a nice guy.. friendly.. ermm and he always laughs on his won jokes!! his jokes are mostly lame i think.. but thats him.. he is trying to make the class interesting by tellingjokes. however they are lame.. unfortunately
this teacher is totally weird! He explains all the extremely simple concepts in class, so u think its super easy......but on the tests, its an extremely complex version of what he taught in class. i didnt learn anything...got a C both quarters.
I never went to class and did nothing for the first quarter and got a "C". I read all chapters and did my study guide and studied really hard for the second quarter and got a "B". It's really hard to get an A in his class because he grades on the curve.
Mr Bull: please stop WASTing first 15 minutes of class everyday talking about nonsense. I paid for the class to be informed on the subject rather than sitting in the class without learning much! He makes you feel good by writing out orderly notes. The class period generally is not well utilized. His jokes are not funny. He is a nice guy though.
AVOID. This teacher accepts no input from the class, there are no group discussions of any kind, and he silences people who are talking about things related to the class in order to speak about roofing his house. In addition to this, he reads right out of the book. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER IF IT CAN BE HELPED.
Only take this class if you can stand hours of boredom, stupid "jokes", and a teacher who copies the book when he wants you to take notes. Also, the tests he gives are nothing like the notes you take... thank god for the curve. To top it off, he's the only teacher I know who is so boring that he has to bribe students to come to class with attendance points.
wow... he teaches just basic ideas of textbook, almost nothing but his tests are super hard and challenge. The curve grade system helps a lot.
Extremely boring, goes off on random rants. Tests are hard but there is a huge curve. I got a solid D on one test but the curve brought it up to a B+. I have no clue how i ended up getting an A in that class
4 exams, which is total 240 pts, attendance worth 15 pts. no extra credit. no attendence required, no hw, no short answer question in the exam (all multi-chc). I earned two A in his classes, not that easy. if you are sure that you dont read and understand the book at all, dont take his class then.
He made the book sound simple...then when u tried to study and take the test u were like.....what? The book is probably one of the most boring things i'll have to read in life....he seems like a very nice middle ages man but wait until someone disagrees with him...then ur like "oh hi Satan!"
If you really take notes and study the book, this is an easy class to get an A. When some things were not as clear to me; I would go into class early and have him clairify the subject. Some people really just want this to be an easy class, but it will not be, you will have to study.
RUN AWAY! I recommend avoiding all econ classes econ instructors at DeAnza. However, if you like to stretch twenty minutes of note taking over two hours, hear so many bad jokes your eyes bleed and down 5 Red Bulls in order to maintain a semi-conscious state, well then this is the class for you!
The tests are hard and all out of 60 questions. There are only 4 tests that your grade is based on plus 15 attendance ponts. With the curve my 26 out of 60 gave me the highest C possible. So this class is overall berable because of the curve. He is very borring and makes stupid jokes, but if u smoke this class is very amusing at times.
Very good teacher to take IF you want to learn about economics. He explains everything very clearly and it will make sense to you if you read the chapter ahead of discussion. His class is by far no easy A, but if you come out of his class with an A you can be sure that you have a good understanding of economics. Highly recommended for learners.
Mr. Bull's exam are pretty tough, but it is based on the text... if you read the materials you be fine in his class. There is a grading curve too and as the quarter progress, the curve drop. Personally, I recommend Mr. Rappaport because he is very professional and funny. i earned A's in both econ 1 and 2. take the 4 days a week class r u will zzZZ.
Tests are fairly easy if you read the text and pay attention. It is difficult to pay attention to Bull because he is the epitome of boring. He makes stupid jokes throughout the whole class. Going to bankruptcy court and laughing at the people in it is a form of entertainment for him.
For international students, not recommended, total 8 test, pretty tough, he didn't catch the time to review the materials,so you have to review and preview every chapter before take his class.attendance is mandatory,if you wanna easy A,take your chances.
His class was really boring, but he's a pretty good teacher. He gives four exams and if you show up everyday, you'll get 15 points of extra credit. His tests were pretty hard but he gives a fat curve. His curve really helps a lot, so just study the book and do the study guide as much as you can before every exam and you'll get at least a B.
This professor’s last name says it all! I did A work, but his tests are impossible, and he takes pride in making this so! So he has a “big fat curve” but without it, he’d have a revolt on his hands. He digresses and reads straight from the text . Here is your first lesson in economics – take this professor and the opportunity cost will be severe!
Tests are unreasonably difficult! He lectures on everything except for economics. I am a straight A student and got a B in this class, even though I read each chapter multiple times! Take somebody else, you might actually get an A if you do.
His class grade system is the typical econ class grading policy. 4 exams (no quizzes) with no real final. Basically the final is the last exam which means no the final is just like the last test. He cracks jokes often which lightens the general mood of the class. I don't think his class is easy, but not hard either. Note: He dropped me by accident and it took slightly longer than an entire vacation to get it corrected since he didn't answer any e-mails or phone calls during our break between quarters. Bad!!!
He is ok. Not that hard and not that easy...thats for sure. He explains things pretty well, but it would really help if you read the book too. Its not that hard to get an A in his class and its not that easy to get one either. I do recommend him though
Bull only teaches 10 minutes of the class. the rest of the time he goes off on tangents about irrelevant subjects either trying to make a horrible joke or to just ramble about other trivial subjects that you will never need to use in your life. He did not start teaching until halfway through the third day.
REALLY boring! Does not teach, makes horrible jokes. Hard tests, have to read book and do study problems to pass. Horrible teacher, nice man.
It is true, he does just rant for most of the quarter about unfunny jokes. you need to study the book to do well, but atleast the tests are exactly on the material from the book. He is very nice and if you ask a question in class he is very clear about answering you. He is there for his students. His class is relaxing. He takes roll randomly.
True, he is pretty boring and makes some pretty terrible jokes. He also teaches very slowly. But he's a good guy and he actually cares if you understand the material. He randomly takes attendance so make a friend to watch each others backs if you choose not to go. Also, STUDY. The midterms don't relate at all to his lectures...way way more details
I'd recommend him. He is fair. The lectures DO relate to the textbook. HE IS FAIR because his tests cover both lectures and assigned reading. He offers good resources, his lectures are interesting (if you like economics) and he explains things well although he sometimes goes on tangents. If you're at school to learn, take him.
A typical lecture --> A good 20-30 min of random nonsense, w/ if your lucky 30 min of worthwhile teaching. But he will try to help, One jus' needs to make sure he has a strong understanding of everything before the test. Does grade on a curve but by far not your typical one.Btw he gave 12 A's total from what I saw ... 4 Test + attendance = grade
I didn't like his style of teaching. He wasn't very clear to me. He is very nice though.
It is okay to take his class, his teaching in class is kind of boring, his midterms are tricky but if you read the book then you will do okay because he will curved it. he is very nice thou
He is not a good teacher. you'll get confused easily when he does teach otherwise it's just sitting in class listening to ridiculous nonsense. test are extremely difficult b/c he does not teach any of the stuff in class. basically an independent teaching yourself class. don't take him- wait for a better prof.
If you want to hear somebody talk about nothing for a couple hours, this is the teacher for you...He's really nice but his voice has the amazing power to put you to sleep, no matter how much energy you had before entering the class.
If this is the Michael Bull I had back in 1980, I would hate to thing he became a boring speaker. This prof. was very interesting, inspiring and motivating to me. He made Econ interesting. Tough tests that's for sure. I have gone fairly far in my business career - his insights are great.
I had Mr. Bull during winter quarter, hes a pretty good teacher or atleast I think so. He'd throw in some jokes or go off topic but it was funny. If you take notes in the class you'll be fine on the tests
He is really boring! He takes attendance randomly, so you kinda have to go to class. NOTHING he says in class is useful for the test, but his tests are REALLY tricky!!! If you have to take this class, do the study guide! the tests are more like the study guide then what he says in class.
econ tests are all tricky, doesnt matter who the teacher is. do the study guide and understand the concepts in the book and it should be an easy A.
Strays away from the material in the book during his lectures often, but when he does this he mostly talks about actual economic issues in the world that relate to the book. Read the book and do the study guide. Learn the material and you will pass the tests. Tells some pretty corny jokes however he can be pretty entertaining at times.
one of the worst prof i have ever had. his boring speech makes me look at the clock every five minutes. and i always don't realize what i learn from his class with a full class speech. his class is like a self study section. i can just find little connection with his speech and the textbook. i happened to drop his class so that it won't screw up m
Prof. Bull is the best ECON teacher, i took some of the others and they are ridiculously hard. Bull is funny and grades on a curve. The material is dry and boring but thats econ for you!
Great Great instructor!!! very clear lecture. Very helpful if u have questions to ask. Tests aren't very easy, but as long as you put in effort, u will do just fine!!!!
If it comes to ignoring jokes that is not funny then this is your class. 3 test and a final all multiple choice. Each test he divide it so threre is 2 days to do one test.Test are curves so hopefully u don't have any smart people. Lecutre does not help so u need to read the book.
Nice guy. Horrible teacher! I feel bad cuz no one laughs at his jokes. lecture doesn't teach you anything, read the book! Buy the study guide at Aida's. grades on a lop-sided curve (As 10%-15%, Bs 25%, Cs 40%, Ds Fs and INC 15%) so the curve is really in your favor which is nice. but if you can avoid it, DON'T take this class!!
He's nice and loves to help his students. But, his lectures are super boring and he never finishes teaching everything in class so kids have to learn some stuff by themselves. Either way, he curves the tests so they're an easy A, and there's no final so the class is pretty much an easy A.
Nice guy, but boring teacher. His jokes are lame and no one laughs at them. I had him for 1 hour and 30 mins and dropped it halfway through the quarter. He doesn't really teach the material so you have to teach yourself. He grades on a curve so PRAY there are no smart people in your class.
Mr. Bull is a nice teacher, but his lectures are boring. You don't really get much from the class lectures, so you have to study very hard on yourself to keep up in the class. The tests are tricky and no matter how hard you try you can't get an A in this class. I tried my best and got B, I was disappointed. Take him if you can study good on your ow
no nonsense teacher, you have to read the book and use the study guide. seriously, USE THE STUDY GUIDE and you will get an A. he is a nice guy and is very helpful if you are confused. seems to go off topic a lot but it actually has a lot to do with economics. grades on a curve, however, his lectures are really boring...
takes roll randomly. he always laughs at his own jokes. grades on a curve and your final grade is based off of the 3 tests and final. lectures are usually off topic and it's hard to focus. if you're good at studying and learning on your own, go ahead and take him. just do the study guide for the textbook and actually read.
Every class are like afantastic speech!Althoug he talks about courses r really slow~, he always give practical examples! just do study guide n read the book u'll fine !
This professor is extremely dull. He makes lame jokes all class and stares at people when they don't laugh. I went to about 20 percent of the classes and got a B in the class. All you have to do is thoroughly read the chapter the night before the exam and you will score higher than most and get a good grade due to the curve.
never had a worse teacher in my life. If you actually care about economics do not take him, you will learn close to nothing. If you don't care about economics still don't take him b/c you have to learn all the material on your own (read the book) because the lecture is useless, and the tests are really hard- just be on the top of the curve.
Bull epitomizes the type of mentality that has driven our country into another economic meltdown, he is not fit to be teaching at all let alone econ. He is a believer in basically pure tyranny of private control and will attempt to sugarcoat this constantly in his discussions. Thus said, he has a dismal personality and makes his class a burden
Bull epitomizes the type of mentality that has driven our country into another economic meltdown, he is not fit to be teaching at all let alone econ. He is a believer in basically pure tyranny of private control and will attempt to sugarcoat this constantly in his discussions. Bull, more like BS
To be frank, there are much better econ professors. The grading curve is out-there and the lectures are painfully boring. DEFINITELY a self-study class. The only points you get are for tests and attendance, which he takes randomly. Good luck.
AVOID IF YOU CAN! unless you already graduated from Berkeley or else you will get a B or lower in his ridiculous class! He doesn't teach, he does the minimum a prof needs to do. RUDE and doesn't help when you need it. if you're stuck with him...GOOD LUCK! WORST TEACHER EVERR
I took econ 1&2 at the same time 2 different teachers, Bull was AWESOME!!! Go to class listen to the lectures, use the book and study guide and its a breeze!! He was so helpful and accommodating, there are make up exams and the final is just another test. The other people must be lazy... he was great!!!
STAY BACK AND NEVER TOOK HIS CLASS!
His class is just lectures & 4 tests including the final. He's not horrible, he's totally helpful. DO the study guide, then use office hr & ask q's! Keep up w/reading, work on study guide, review before test = good grade. Im one of those students that have to try so hard for a good grade, but believe me it pays off!
One more thing, not only does your grade only consist of 4 tests, but 15 pts for attendance which is random, but well worth it. he takes roll when there is least amount of ppl, just go to class he's cool & you can use that time to read the book anyway. Bull rlly taught me what college is about(hard independent work) & i think I'm gnna major in econ
This class seriously made me hate economics and change my major completely. His lectures are useless and 99.9999% of the class is spent reading everything on your own. The only way I was able to get a B in the class was by using the online study guides and learn the material on my own. He's a nice guy but I learned absolutely nothing from him.
Mr. Bull aside from being a very nice guy, isn't a very good professor. He wastes lots of in class time talking about things that have nothing to do with economics. Plan on teaching yourself most of the material and showing up to class to listen to him talk about his coy pond and the animals that visit his yard at home, Wish class was more producti
EASY A This guy was the easiest econ professor I've taken, all his tests are very straight forward and the curve helps even more. Curves every test. Only people who don't study are probably the ones giving him bad ratings.
He did grade on a curve. I think he still does. Great lectures and challenging exams
