Nice Teacher, but he gives alot of work, so be to prepared to really work hard...

Amico teaches the class using power point slides. It isn't the most effective teaching method, but it gives you an overview/outline of each chapter. Be prepared to read a lot... questions on the exams are taken directly from material in the text. Overall, he is a helpful guy and very approachable.

An all around great, detailed, professor I heard he might become a psychiatrist and has alot of experience and cares about the psychological field. emphasizes apa style writing, what was read in text book and class discussion. very professional.

Mr. Amico is a great professor. I know he can help me pass the class before the semester ends.

Class consists of taking lots of notes from his powerpoint slides. Very nice professor. Begins class rite on time & doesn't like students 2 b late. Givs u a study guide a day or 2 b4 test. With so much material I felt we should've gotten it sooner but overall the class was pretty good. Also givs u a paper to write which is due at the end of the sem

Great professor and VERY helpful. Attendance is a MUST. If you missed one day you feel like you missed a years worth of notes. Gives lots of information. Hates it when students are late but in worse case scenario he is very understanding. All notes come from his power point slides which are very detailed he will also give more detail if not enough.

awesome teacher! he does a great job at explaining everything in a way that will help everyone learn. just make sure you stay on top of your reading, it is very important in his class and will pay off immensely. ask questions and participate in discussions!

Awesome teacher! Made the subject very easy to understand. Lecturea are on power points so you don't miss anything that he has to say, and makes note taking alot easier. Class flew by when I was in there. Great teacher and would take him again anytime.

Really friendly and a funny guy, well liked at HCC. Be alert in class (I took it at 930, bad move) and you will learn a lot. Can't pass tests w/o reading book. But overall a good teacher and a really nice guy

Good teacher, hard tests

I am a huge fan of amico's as a teacher. I have taken 6 psychology classes and 5 of them have been with him. The tests and papers are hard but as long as you take notes and ask questions you should be ok. Don't miss class though, if you do you will miss a great deal of needed information.

Out of the five classes I took this past semester at Housatonic this was the one I spent the most time on. The homework alone required an hour and the nine page paper due at the end was tedious. Spent way to much time on this class and he gave me a B+ would never recommend him if your absent more than 2 times he takes off half a letter grade at end

Hes a really good teacher and I learned a lot from him the test are easy because he gives you a study guide of everything that is going to be on the test ! Really enjoyed his class

Prof. Amico is a great Prof. I took him for Industrial/Organizational Psychology online, over the summer break. DO THE WORK and the rest will fall into place. We had two paper and approx 3 exams (10 questions each.) Don't post your discussion late or you will get a big fat ZERO =)

Prof. Amico is a positive and helpful teacher. Yes, there is work involved, but just like any other class. In class discussion is helpful. Very understanding and has a great listening ear. He is the complete opposite of the worst teacher you ever had!

Amico is a great professor. He gives a lot of examples while doing his powerpoint and doesn't talk while you're writing the info down (something i wish all professors did). A lot of work but that's what's expected in psychology. We took 6 tests which he gives you a study guide for. There are 2 papers also. Cool, interesting guy and class. Loved him

Literally got 100 on midterm, final, and every assignment. Chapters you have to read yourself and assignments are very reasonable. He seems laidback and easygoing. For a course where you essentially learn by reading from the textbook only, I have never learned so much interesting and relevant information. I'll be sure to take him in the future.

Hands down the best professor's iv'e had. Not only does he show enthusiasm in his work, but he's also knowledgeable and very organized. He relates topics in psychology to his own personal experiences & makes topics easy to apply to the real world. Iv'e taken 3 psychology classes with him and im pleased. An amazing prof. my highest recommendation

The textbook was rarely used, which was a disappointment having bought the book. There was no online portion, which was good because internet wasn't needed for this classes. He's a very fair grader. Loved this class. Probably in my top 2 classes

Hands down one of the best professors I have had! He makes class fun, interesting, and applies it to your everyday life. He is very clear and organized with his lectures and I recommend him to anyone!

Professor Amico is a great teacher. He cares about his students and he is very helpful. You will want to study a lot before all tests. The study guides are usually very helpful if you use them. I would definitely recommend this class to all future students.

Great professor. Lectures are long, but if you take notes and complete the study guide completely, you will definitely pass all his tests. They come directly from the notes. Strict with deadlines for final paper.

Classes consist of powerpoint lectures. He is kind enough to give students time to write everything down, although I challenge that idea with uploading it to BlackBoard or taking pictures. Grading is clear cut, final test is cumulative of all tests taken. Assigns some homework papers and a written project at the end. Overall he is great. Recommend

This was my first time taking an online class and it literally was an easy A! Everything is open book! The work wasn't too hard either especially if you read your book.

I took him for 2 classes. He is a psychologist and compassionate. If you skip class and don't do your work, you will have a hard time, as the tests are long, multiple choice, and not easy. He wants to make sure you understand. He does not give much homework but requires a long paper at the end of semester. Great lectures and involves the class.

He makes the class so much fun. The discussions and lectures are understandable. He gives a study guide before every test. He grades fairly and cares about the students. He also offers extra credit.

BEST PSYCH PROFESSOR HANDS DOWN!!! I'm not even a psych major, I'm in business. Took a winter course with him online and it was a breeze! Boyfriend said his in-person classes are also great. Discussion posts. One final. One midterm. Everything open book. Please disregard the negative reviews, for real. He's honestly the best!!! 10/10 RECOMMEND!!!

Just do the work and you'll pass. Also, textbook pdf is online. He's very caring and fun. One of my favorite profs!

Great Teacher!

Best psychology professor ever!! He is very clear about the subject and the class lectures are always very interesting! Test are easy and pretty straight forward. If you do your work and study for exams you should pass with an easy A! You will not regret taking Professor Amico! Goodluck :)

An intensive 4 week summer course. Lots of reading and writing required which made up 90% of the grades, midterm and final were super easy. Pointed out a scoring error in the Final exam and it was immediately corrected. His questions made a boring topic interesting

Professor Amico is a laid back but great professor. He has a lot of experience and makes everyone laugh.

Great at was he does. whatever he teaches in class, you'll get exactly that on the test.

I am your saving grace. Take any of his online classes on my 3rd online class with him. Both classes I got As in. Just be consistent with going on blackboard and doing the discussion posts and comments. They are due every Sunday at midnight. 3 assignments that are about a page each. Tests are super easy. Take his online classes you wont regret it.

I took prof. Amico for an online course & he was great. Clear syllabus which makes everything easier because you know what is expected. Great guy & great communication.

Easy A. This will be my 5th online class with him. Do the post and assignments and youll pass. Midterm and final are easy and 10 questions each. Just write the post and respond to a classmate to get the 100 points. Doesnt have a word or page min or max for post and assignments.

If you want an easy grade just take any of his online classes you wont regret it.

Professor Amico is amazing! I just finished a winter class with him. Although it's intense because it's three weeks, he gives you two days to answer three to four questions based on the chapters you read. There are three assignments (one paragraph) and a midterm + final exam. If you participate and show him that you read the material its an easy A!

This professor grade according to participation, not on how great we are as mini psycologists!! He undeestands this is a 100s pre-req class, and doent expect is to be top notch. He only expects you to turn in work.

professor amico was great! literally could not have asked for a better instructor. this was a summer course so it does go fast but the assignments were quick and easy to do. just take his class because it was absolutely amazing. he also replies to emails fast too!

Great overall teacher. I learned a lot from him. He knows his psychology very well. Has a doctorate in Psych and is head of the Psychology department at HCC. Very clear grading criteria. Your grade will be based exactly on how you perform on the tests, term paper and assignments.

This class is easy as long as you show up and do the work. He does great power points, so if you take good notes, you won't need the textbook. Typically, he gives a test after every two chapters or so and they are all multiple choice with a few short answer, however, he does give you a study guide. Homework is given on test days, due next class

I was uneasy about taking this class online, but I can say that it was very well organized, and I was able to learn a lot. A lot of reading is required so prepare for it. If you are not disciplined, don't take this class online, as work is required daily, be it reading or submitting assignments. If you need help with anything, he responds quickly.

Great professor who's clearly passionate about teaching! His lectures are informational, on point, and can serve as your notes for tests. Course work is clear and concise. He's a generous grader, and work is light. He'll give you great feedback on assignments, and his love for psychology is contagious.

Prof. Amico is knowledgeable & always willing to answer questions. His lectures are entertaining, funny, and interesting! Six exams, six HW assignments, as well as a 7-page final paper. The textbook is read outside of class. Study guides provided for exams have the exact test questions! Lots of work/studying, but well worth it! I highly recommend!

Professor Amico was great, he had very interesting lectures. Class was graded mostly on tests and a final paper. He gives you a study sheet that looks like the test so study those and you'll pass. The only complain I have is that he doesn't post grades, so you kinda have to do the math in your head. Don't buy the textbook we don't really use it.

Took his winter abnormal psych course, was FANTASTIC for transfer credits. Perfect layout, easy midterm and final, 7 discussion board posts (so doable), and 3 reflection-based assignments. TAKE THIS COURSE for credit!!!

Professor Amico's online Psy 101 course was very straightforward. His discussions post questions really made you dive deep into the material. If you answer with an understanding of the material, respond to classmates, study for your tests, you will for sure pass! Would take his course again.

Man oh man , give this man his props. Amazing professor! His study guide is straight-foward, his lectures are fun and informative, and his hw is easy. The final is 100 questions long but it's literally all the exams combined! Please take him , you won't regret! Made my 2nd semester so easy! thank you professor amico!

Professor Amico was a great professor. His lectures may be boring sometimes but he explains everything that will be on the test and answers all questions. His study guides are very helpful and he provides feedback upon request if you hand in papers before the due date which was definitely helpful as well. Easy A.

Professor Amico is by far my favorite out of all my professors! His class is very interesting he teaches well and if you don't understand don't be afraid to ask he will make it easier in a way for you to understand

Professor was amazing, even though he tells you to buy the textbook which I don't recommend because I didn't even open it. Note taking is very important he talks a lot. Exams were great, he literally gives you a study guide and its the same questions on the exam so there's no BS. Final Exam was great, it was all of the past exams put together.

I am an older adult who took this class for the purpose of fulfilling requirements to become a certified public-school teacher. The course was perfect for me, and the professor does an amazing job of engaging everyone online. I appreciated the scheduled updates. The summaries and notes for each chapter were helpful. 100% recommend this professor.
