COOL GUY
he's pretty easy he lets you choose what kinda exam you want but he assigns case studies and a term paper but i def. recommend him and he gives you good interview questions
He is one of the worse professor that I ever have. It's impossible to earn a A grade from his class. (you don't even think about that) In fact, don't take him if you wanna earn a A grade. "BAAAAAAAAAAAD Guy"
Really cool guy. His tests are very fair and easy. He is very flexable. His classes are fun and interesting. The class covers alot of material but its not that bad. We need more professors like him.
He's very easy!!! You choose your midterm (choose the take home!!!!is the easiest) His lectures are boring but you can't go wrong with a take-home, or an open book. If you actually want to learn something--> this is not the prof. you want to take.
Good teacher. Clear, makes the class fun. Inspired me to love learning. Good real life examples
The tests are whatever format you want, but he likes to give difficult questions, especially on a final, where you don't expect them. Important things are to participate actively and do a good term paper. He's good to keep in contact with though.
boring class
VERY helpful, clear, interesting. Be careful with the Final, study hard
easiest class you can take in baruch. you decide the format of exam. take-home midterm(class average was 97) and choose open book final- EASY A
got an A. great prof. you learn alot about whats going on in acct. he preps you well for an acct job. best of all the acc3202 prof. you choose your test format. choose takehome mterm/open book final. do the case studies and participate. you get extra credit. you wanna boost that acct GPA, take him.
Dont miss the chance of getting an A, getting lots of interview tips, and learning a lot. He is a very nice guy, you get to choose your final, and take home. the paper he gives is very interesting. TAKE HIM
Take him. The best prof in this school. He is so easy and fun. the material itself is not that interesting but you dont do much of it. You get interview tips and a lot about his life. Term paper and a couple of one page essays, but they are all very easy. Take him.
This class is so boring and her does not know how to present it in an interesting manner. Also, so much workload in this class!!
easy class. or u can say an easyyyyy A. though the class is boring, i guess u can still learn a lot from the prof. he gives u interviewing tips and you u learn about u major too. take him!hes good!
EASY A!!!!!!!!!!! this guy is a genius! he really is! loved loved loved this class!
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much work to do in his class. Also, his class is super boringggggggggg!!
Easiest Prof in Baruch. The man understands the workload that the students have and he gives all the accounting majors a little breathing room. By far the easiest class. Take him. Easy A
Take him. He is the best. The class is soooo easy u have to get an A. You don't even need to listen to his lecture, just do the homeworks, term paper and take his midterm and final open book mutiple choice. He is so easy and so nice is you have any questions feel free to ask him he will answer and explain.
Great Prof. Treats the students with respect and is fun to listen to. If you do all the assignments, request the midterm to be take-home and have the final in class with open book you should do great. He might have a lot of work to do but it is not that mind boggeling. Take him he is great!
Because of this terrible professor I had to change my accounting major.Be caution and stay away.
This man shouldn't be teaching. I don't understand why he's receiving great reviews in this site. It's so tragic.
Wow, I dont know what these two people want in a professor unless they're retarded. This man teaches, makes the class enjoyable, and his exams are jokes!!! 49 out of 54 kids in my class got A on the midterm and the final wont be much harder. If you cant do well in his class, it isnt him, it's you who's mentally challenged.
VERY unclear, hard tests, DOES NOT CURVE! DEFINATELY NOT AN EZ A!!! tons of work, memorize the book. tests, POP QUIZZEZ, PROJecTS, HW (which he collects). do urslef a favour, if u wanna have a good semester and keep ur GPA the way it is DO NOT TAKe THIS GUY!!! so just stay away from him
I don't understand who these people are talking about! Prof. Lapelosa does not give ANY pop quiz, amount of work is very fair, tests atre not hard. He is a GREAT teacher and cares about his students!!! Sounds like someone did poorly and blames the tracher, or they are talking about the wrong teacher!
he isnt as easy as everyone says. his class drags on and the work load is insane. but he is mad cool. there are many chapters and a whole lot of reading and sleepless nights that you will need to do in order to do well.
Hard tests????? Its a TAKE-HOME!!!!!
He's the best!!!!!1
This man shouldn't be teaching. I don't understand why he's receiving great reviews in this site. It's so tragic.
STOP with these personal attacks!! Just because you did bad is no reason to smear this wonderful, caring teacher!!!
Great teacher!! The BEST
Pop quiz?? Professor Lapelosa NEVER gave a pop quiz...NEVER
HE IS GREAT TEACHER AND EASY TO GET A CUS HE GIVES TAKE HOME MIDTERM AND FINAL U HAVE TO TAKE IN CLASS HE DOESNT MIND IF U CHEAT FROM EACH OTHER AND HE ASK EASY ESSAY QUEASTION ON THE FINAL "WHAT DID U LEARN IN THIS CLASS" IF U CAN'T ANSWER THAT QUESTION U SHOULDNT BOTHER GOING TO BARUCH COLLEGE AND HE ASKS 25 MULTIPLE QUESTION EASY I WOULD RECOMEN

Great prof. and person. Makes this material so easy and interesting, he's also very helpful. One of the best prof. in Baruch...
Aha, very easy, right? How about getting less than 70 on a final? And that's a person with all A's in all other acc classes... Moral: don't get fooled by midterm easiness and study REAL hard for the final (no matter if it is an open book, collaboration or smth else, you'll need it). Final was 33 MC, open book, but the whole class failed it...
Well if people never open a book before the final obviously is a hard class for them. If you choose open book at least people should know where things are before hand so the test is much easier. The final was not hard if you know what your doing. I don't think anyone gives A's just like that
hm... the final was a KILLER thats all i can tell you. studied hard and still didnt get the grade expected, although got A's in all other acc classes
The best professor, period. Interesting discussions. He helps you succeed in real life by giving valuable interview tips throughout the semester. Take-home midterm and open book final. Two papers. If you put just a little effort in his class, you're guaranteed a good grade. He is definitely the guy to take!
great professor. two hw assignments. one term paper. exam formats are your choice, just ask him about it. we requested take home midterm, we got take home midterm. we asked for open book final, we got open book final. very easy-going.
Deceptive easiness. U read good ratings, never come to class & never open book of course ur gonna get a C. Nobody gives A's just like that. Easy is not the word, FAIR is the word. Its an acc class, ur expected to read the book. Many ppl skip class cause no attendance. Show up if u can, his lectures are stimulating & go well beyond the scope of AIS
Continuance to below: Reason that he gives an open book test is cause the course itself is as dry as the sahara desert. If you read the book, you will know relatively where to look. If you dont, then you will spend 20min on each q and fail. Hes easy, but by baruch accounting student standards, not by community college standards.
This Professor is a decent professor, although the class can get boring at times. He does not take attendance, but will give 2 written assignments randomly during the semester, and a final paper on Sarbanes-Oxley. Midterm was take home and Final was open book. Just take the initiative to do all assignments and you can expect an A in the class.
easy but LOW GRADE
The final is no longer open book and the class is not an easy A. Although I'd like to believe that Prof is a fair and benevolent person overall, I had one bad experience that took away all respect I had for him. His classes are enjoyable. Maybe I caught him at a bad time but unfortunately I was highly disappointed with the way he dealt with grading
terrible professor, terrible class, stay away from both if you can.. if you need to take the class like me, take someone else, anyone else must be better than him!!!
Professor is great. He understands and takes to account that 90% of class is people who work. His lectures are confusing but than you realized you learned a lot especially he teaches about real world, tells you how to act on interview, how to compose resume, what's total compensation etc. Final is not open book but not hard. Recommended!!
I believe professor is an easy grader, if you participate and attend classes. He does not take attenance. The outline for the class was structured around two term papers, midterm and final. I earned A-
Great prof...teaches alot about the accounting career as well as AIS, funny, pleasure to be in his class, easy A, any1 who grades him bad is on crack or meth or heroin.....no attendence and midterm is take home,,,final is class choice....one of the great profs in baruch....
Come to class not because you have to, you don't, but it is worth it! In addition to the book material that has to be covered, you can learn much more and get some extremly useful info.
Prof Lapelosa is a cool professor for the most part. However, his very difficult Midterm is OPEN-BOOK and his extremely difficult FINAL is CLOSED BOOK. His exams are killer. 25% Midterm, 5% short papers, 20% term paper, 50% final. Extremely hard final! I avg an A for his class until the final. I got a C for his class. Not EASY! Better STUDY HARD!
He is a great teacher with good humor. You will get lots of useful information to tackle future career rather than just boring academic lessons. In addition, professor will go easy on students with good motivation to come to class and learn.
This class was super easy. I got an A. Final thoughts on the class: it is all about the last final and the paper as they make up 70% of the grade. Most of the class does well on the midterm because it is open book - and why shouldn't they. If you don't do well on the midterm, just make sure you do well on the final as people that did well on the m
I don't learn much from the class, but the professor is ok. he doesn't give you any method to contact him unless just before or after class. The midterm (20%)is take-home. final (50%)is not cumulative, one ethic paper(10%) and one termpaper (20%).
The best professor I've ever had!!! Always very helpful, does not stress students, imparts a wealth of knowledge and share professional experiences. His exams are very fair, based on textbook. The term paper and written assignments were an amazing learning experience. I HIGHLY recommend him!!! There should be more professors like him.
Prof. Lapelosa is great! I had him last semester and I still keep in touch with him. Great professor, great mentor!
He is the best professor for this course. There is normal amount of work involved, but he makes it stress free. The assigments are distributed in a way that you do not feel the pressure as much. He is very smart and passionate about teaching. Written assignments, assigned reading, and two exams. Attendance is required. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM!
you better study for the final really hard because it is a killer.
prof is nice-if u raise ur hand and answer questions through out the sem. it will help u. 1 paper(10%), 1 exam take home 50 mc(20%), 1 paper about 4pgs (20%), final 50 mc in class not open book(50%). the class is easy but man, the final u have to read like ch7-ch11(200 ps) and its pretty difficult but if u do well on that. you good to go.. take him
He is a nice Professor, But you have to work hard for final exam which is 50% of your final grade.Highly recommended.
Lectures are interesting but deceiving from the point of view of exam. Two papers, 1 take home mid-term, and 1 killer final. Yes, the final is the ultimate contrast to his teaching style. Lenient grader on the paper. Take him and just read a little, you will get through with an A.
Easiest class I ever took. Midterm, Warren Case and the Final. I never went to class and did well. Easy class.
Excellent Professor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vey knowledgeable and intelligent. The best Professor ever. I enjoyed to be in his class.
Very interesting class. He is very experienced. Highly recommended.
take him... you'll get an easy A. take home mid-term, waren case and final.. no paper..
He is the best ACC Prof in Baruch. I highly recommended him. Read each chapter for final at list 2X and I guaranty you will get an A. Thank you Prof. Lapelosa, I have learned a lot from this class and I'm going to be one of the ?elite Baruch accountants? because of you!
I like his class. He taught well and made jokes. If you lesson, the class is not hard.
No attendance (I attended about 35% of the time just to keep up with warren case, midterm and final information), take home midterm which is easy and everyone get 94-100. Warren case- go to tutoring session and copy everything there. Final, just read those 5 chapters and analyze them. It took me maybe 7-8 hours to read and get an A for this class
Take home midterm. If you do your own Warren Case you wont have to stress the Final which covers 5 chapters. Read them before class, he reads them during class and review them for the final & you will be just fine. (He's really nice)
not take home anymore.
Great Professor, Midterm was easy but final was a total surprise. Overall I loved him.
HE IS A VERY GOOD PROFESSOR WHO MAKES THE CLASS INTERESTING AND IS FAIR WITH WORK, YOU WILL BE LUCKY IF YOU HAVE HIM, MUST TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!!!!
Class is relatively easy. Study end of book questions and other sample multiple choice questions for exams and you will ACE the class.
Good professor, overall. Read the book, midterm goes from the book. Final was a killer, 2 essays and 40 M/C. One of the Essays questions was tricky and unclear. Hard to get an A now. Need to get an A for both midterm and final, to get an A final grade
He's not as good as people say he is. The tests were designed in a way so that the students are kicked out of the accounting major. After the final grades were given out, most of the students emailed one another about how their grade was much lower than expected. Cares very little about students and just rushes to finish the class everyday.

not as easy as people said anymore
He is not easy anymore, don't take him thinking you'll get an easy ride. I winded up with a C in this class. He makes you think his class is easy with the midterm which is from the back of the textbook but then surprises you with the final.
PEOPLE LISTEN.... Final is from nowhere... not from the book... YOU HAVE TO READ THICK AND BORING BOOK AT LEAST 2 TIMES. THE TERMINALOGY is AWFUL
Very hard FINAL.. so keep it in mind,,,,
He is not as easy as he probably was. He is definitely a GPA killer that everyone should avoid. He does not really care about students, he just mostly cares about kicking students out of the accounting major.
Final is cumulative, I got a C :(
Grade composed of 1 midterm, final, and waren case. Professor says he'll take random attendance and that he doesn't use test bank however most of the test questions came from the concept checks in back of textbook chapters and he never took attendance. With an 80 on waren case and 88 on midterm I still got an A so I can't complain.
I got a 90 on the midterm, an 80 on the warren case and a B- for the final grade. I have no idea how that happened. I made an appointment with him to see my final exam :(.
GPA killer. Stay away from him.
he is not a good professor. I would not recommend him to anyone.
He is one of the professors that do not care about his students. He doesn't give reviews before exams. Yes, it's college and you self-teach yourself, but you also need a guide to help you. He doesn't provide you anything. He is lazy. He makes you think that his class is easy with the midterm, but you can fail with the final.
The material isnt complicated. There're midterm-30%, Waren case-20% and final-50%. Prof. makes mistakes on the test grading. The MC test questions are all from the TB or back of the chapter. But somehow prof. thinks that the answer should be different from the book. Check your tests afterwards.I got 90 on midterm, 98 on WC and my grade is B+
Everything was oklay until the final grade was out. The midterm was easy. Most of the questions were from the back of each chapters. The waren case was time consuming but it was oklay. The final was tricky. Most of the questions did not have one clear answer. Either 2 of the answers could be right or none of the answers are correct.
Final was cumulative and 50% of the grade. I am really upset with this class because my grade went from a A to C. The final was unlike the midterm. It was tricky.
This guy does not care about any of his students. His lectures are useless the book explains things better than he does. Questions on the final exam come from stuff he hasn't even mentioned in class. Just comes to class and talks through the whole time and wants you to take notes that every acc major already knows. He is a gpa killer.
He is not that bad as some of the other students have rated him. I would not say him the best professor in accounting but definitely count him as one of the experienced prof in accounting department. Two exams and one waren case. Easier to pass but challenging for getting A. If you want easy B, take him. Most of his questions are from concept check
This professor should be investigated. He does not care for the course/students and purposely wants to fail/lower your GPA. Got a 96 on his midterm, 98 on the waren case, and somehow my final grade was a C-. There is zero chance I got a 50 on the Finals and he states that he does not "change" the Finals grade for whatever reason. AVOID, GPA KILLER.
So I really don't suggest taking this professor. He really is a GPA killer. He's not really clear with what he expects and there should never be a class with a final worth 50% of your grade. He seems like a nice guy but he's truly a horrible professor. Do yourself a favor and don't take him unless you want to write the same review as me.
His advice and examples make things easier for understanding Acct, Auditing,CPA. He wants your participation/DEDICATION in class. You'll get good grade if you follow class attentively and study HARD. Midterm its ok, Waren its up to u. Final, if u read the book, took notes, and if U DID waren, final isn't hard. If u dont want study, take other prof.
Prof Lapelosa is a working professor. He has real experience and shares them with the students. People say he's hard, and that the final is 50% of the grade, yes. But if you read the book and truly understand the material, work through the warren case and understand, ask him questions and participate in class for the extra credit. It's a fair A.
His test is quite hard ( difficult to get an A), but he gives extra credit. My goal was B+, so I aimed for an A, and i knew i would fall short. The extra credit pushed me to a B+. I was happy. To get the extra credit, make sure you attend class and participate, he will remember you. As for the test, read the book and take notes. Studyahead
Interesting lectures. Gives real life advice. Test seems hard but if you read the book, copy really good notes, and other for old exams, you're good to go.
Say no more. It's impossible A because he doesn't rank/curve. It's easy B-/B/B+ though because his exams come from the back of textbook or something like that.
I don't know the other professors. but if you are straight out A student through real effort and work, this class is just another one towards your 4.0.
Does not really follow school class attendance policy, a plus for me. Lecture heavy, he does not assign hw besides readings, must take good notes to pass exams, but exams are fair. I screwed up my Warren case and ended up with C+. Waren Case is 20% of the total grade. I recommend him.
50% of final exam, 30% of midterm, 20% of warren case. Exams are really hard, 45 multiple choice and 10 matching or an short essay. He knows a lot about AIS, but it's not helpful for the exam. Tough grader, almost impossible to get an A. most students get a B range. I don't suggest taking him if you have other choice.
PARTICIPATION IN CLASS IS THE KEY. he will remember you and will check off your final exam if you participated during his class. One midterm and one final. Midterm is mostly TB but final was from NO WHERE. I mean lets face it, ACC classes are hard in Baruch but at least with him you learn. compare to other prof i will HIGHLY recommend Lapelosa.
Amazing professor, one of the best at Baruch
He will make you feel confident till midterm that you will end up with A/B. He does it to get good ratings before final - absolutely trick. He will use TB for Midterm, but final test is surprising and make you crazy. He wants students participate in his boring discussion; 1 midterm (30%), 1 final (50%) and waren case (20%).
AVOID!! Midterm almost entirely from test bank(study it well) but changes the answers for some of the questions because he "mentioned it differently in class", so for some questions you're guna be screwed, make sure you ace warren case (start early), and final is complete nonsense nothing like the midterm.
50% final exam, 30% midterm (take-home so basically a free 100), and 20% Waren Case. Will bump you up a letter grade if you participate consistently throughout the semester. Don't try to just participate a few times at the end of the class because you really do have to have been consistent to get the credit. Final isn't too hard, good professor.
You will be saved not to take him, he does not know how to teach! He is absolutely the opposite of what he teaches. He keeps saying that he won't lower the grades, just to get good evaluation results. AVOID, and take other Professors.
This is a very straightforward class. Do as the professor says and you will receive an A. Participation is a MUST!!!!
YOU BETTER TO KNOW EVERYTHING BEFORE TAKING HIS CLASS, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE FAIL. FORGET ABOUT WHAT HE SAID AT FIRST DAY OF CLASS. HIS EXAM IS CAME FROM HIS MIND, SO WETHER IS CORRECT OR WRONG DEPENDS ON HIM. HARDWORKING IS NOT USEFUL IN THIS CLASS. AVOID HIM, HE WILL RUNS YOUR GPA. GPA KILLER
Forget about what he says about attendance, participation, "EXAM based on textbook"-It is not true. The only thing that matters is getting the right answears to HIS questions on the exam. Where most of the time half of the exam is from nowhere. True GPA killer. If you ask him too specific or too conceptual questions, he wont be able to answear it.
Exams were extremely HARD! He changes up the exams. The Final was OUT OF NOWHERE and was barely from the Textbook!! Rather take someone else and save your GPA!!
worst professor ever, he is going to trick you into that you are going to get at least a B and he never curved "(
No extra credit. MUST READ THE TEXTBOOK. Deletes material from blackboard after a couple days. All test bank.
Professor Lapelosa is a decent professor. Keep in mind this class is a TB and QUIZLET class. His exams are nothing like his lectures. Every single question on the test are literally random topics from each chapter. If you want to do well in his class, he currently has two midterms which are TB and the final isn't, questions are from quizlet and tb
AVOID!! Exams are real hard and he changes it from previous exams. It will be worded differently from the text. Take someone else if you can!!!
His class is all TB from all different sources. What he teaches in class would not correlate at all with the extremely hard exams he gives. I would AVOID at all cost and just take another professor. You can read the textbook for every test and still end up with the grade i got.
Horrible at teaching!! try to stay away, and save your GPA!!!
good professor who would raises your grade if you are active a lot .
AVOID THIS PROF IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOUR GPA!! Exams are really HARD and he changes it up in his own words. Take someone else!!!!!!!
He gives very inspirational speeches, gives great advice about future career options, and opportunity. He makes you excited to be studying at Baruch. His class is heavy lecture. I recommend to read the book, print the slides, and write notes. Otherwise, there is no way you can get a good grade in his class. Study very hard for his exams. Hard!
The class lectures themselves are informative but pretty much teaches out of the textbook. It was be highly advantageous if you studied the third edition of the test banks not the second edition there are many new added problems. But overall not bad many years of experience in the field of accounting.
He talks about things that are not in the textbook. even tho you bought the book and read through it. you will still get confused about what he's teaching. Avoid him if you want to pass the class. yes, I mean to pass the class.
Bad lecturer, horrible grader, boring voice. Almost quotes his powerpoints word by word. He's knowledgable about the real accounting world but his poorly written exams are sneaky. You think you got it but you don't. Would not recommend.
You need to study to each chapter and clear the concept of the topic. You will gain a knowledge about IT auditing process and mainly process and framework of internal control. You will enjoy his class if you want to learn about internal control. But yes you need to study and follow his instruction to pass his class that is for sure.
I can't say enough how much I regret taking this course with him. I am a A student but hard work doesn't help in his course. He is unclear about the grading policy and super vague when you ask any important questions regarding to the essay or grades.
RUN if u dont want this class to ruin ur GPA. Do not have clear guidelines for project and exam. Class notes are not related to exam.
No homework, no review for the two exams, and also no curve for the grade. This course ruin my GPA, I received my first C-, even though my project and the midterm I received B.
No HW at all. Only an open note (even open laptop) midterm, closed-book final, and a project you can work on with as many people as you'd like. He sprinkles info about what to include in the project so be sure to listen during lectures. Exams are Quizlet questions. All MCQ even though he wanted to have short answers. Is accessible outside class.
class ends in 30 mins, no hw, 1 project, midterm & final not curved but it is open book aka open laptop. he does say that it is a paper exam tho. i dont even remember what i "learned". he simply read off a few pages from the textbook and called it a day. attendance is mandatory but it is a sign in sheet. no extra credit
runnnnn
not sharing screens, read through the book, very uncleared lecture and homework.
Class was rough. Blackboard is always empty, he deletes everything. Posted the syllabus and removed it, posted the project on blackboard then removed it. He doesn't share slides for any of the chapters, mandatory homework that doesn't count towards your grade but he'll lower your grade if you don't do it. You have two exams and project. no curve
Its a easy class if you put in effort towards it. The project is a big chunk if the grade but if you start early and ask questions youll be fine.
Great professor. I am in no way an accounting nerd, but he made the class so easy to get an A. Take him! you wont regret it. Ignore the bad comments, it's a lie. He is awesome.
The class has its challenges, but with effort and tools like unstuck ai, it's manageable. Mandatory attendance helps, and the open-note exams can offset the lack of homework. Overall, a decent course if you're willing to put in the work.
