Pretty good teacher. Knows his stuff well...loves politics. His lectures are clear but the exams are difficult. The assignments are time consuming. The class wasnt too bad overall.
Greta class with a great instructor! Make sure you attend class, as he does not make his notes available. He's laid back and allows for serious discussion. He doesn't make it a partisan class. However, it's not hard to see where his allegiance lies. Takes him FOREVER to grade papers.
He is REALLY into the subject; nice, funny, interesting class. Make sure you don't fall asleep in class or you'll do HORRIBLE on tests. The work is overwhelming however and will take up a majority of your life.
Very easy class. Quizzes are all online and retakable until the deadline. He gives the questions to the exam in the study guides so theres no suprises. He's very passionate about the subject and most of the time he'll talk politics, not really class material, for half the class which is actually pretty cool. Easy class and reccomended.
Ceriello is a very good teacher but I recommend strongly on attending class. The online quizzes are very hard so you need to read the book carefully and understand what your reading or you'll fail the online quizzes. Uses blackboard for quizzes. Fun teacher, I enjoyed his class very much and learned a lot. Overall: (1-10)...(9.3)
Excellent Professor! I would take him again in a heartbeat. Attendance is not mandatory but highly recommended b/c exams are based on lectures (weekly quizzes on Bb are based on the readings from the book). He gives you a study guide and will not ask a question that is not on the study guide so make sure you have a firm grasp on what he is asking.
I really liked this class. As a US citizen I think it's important to know more about the legal system and he definitely makes it interesting and fun to learn by using relevant examples. There is a LOT of work, but it's all easy; just get it done. The quizzes you can retake as many times he gives a study guide for exams. Highly recommend him!!
A very interesting class! Most people should take this class just to learn more about their own government. The class relies heavily on the book and lectures, so it pays to go to class. Tests can be difficult but he explains everything on them. Good class and an even better professor!
This is an awesome class!! I didn't have any excitment for Politics before. Now I wanna take more politics classes...with him. Does have quite a bit of work, like online quizes, weekly assignment, and exams but they are all fairly easy if you pay attention, read textbook, and study. Best professor I've had so far!!
This was the easiest class I ever took at Clark. With the online quizzes, you can take it as many times as you want until you get 100%. If you answer the study guide and memorize it, you'll ace the tests. You don't have to pay attention current events in order to do well in the class.
He is very knowledgeable and is very interested in his teachings, but his lectures are boring. If you have ADD or ADAH you will fail this class! Otherwise, the online quizzes are very convenient and based 100% off of text book material. If you like to hear about Obama everyday, then take this class.
Ceriello was a pretty good professor. It was entertaining to watch him get excited during the election; seriously, kid in a candy store excited. It was an informative class that was easy to pass.
He is extremely easy, but you should show up to class everyday, since the exams are based primarily on the lecture notes. He really knows his stuff, but a little bit biased in his political ideology. Not overly so, and has some moderate opinions. Just do your homework and youll be fine.
Very interesting views on politics, somewhat biased. Do the reading! It will save you in the class! The assignments were time consuming and the online quizzes were a drag, even though you can take them multiple times, you get bored of taking them over and over. If you miss an online quiz or two it can kill your grade in the class.
Ceriello is a great teacher, however he is very LIBERALLY biased. His class is imformative and fun, and the homework is easy and fun also. Dont plan on getting your exams graded and back to you for a LONG TIME. It took him a month to give back our 1st exam..that might get irritating to some. Overall though, good teacher.
Interesting! Class was never dull, and tests and assignments were easy! I would recommend the class to anyone!
hes an amazing teacher. Its easy to stay in tune with his lectures throughout an entire 2 and a half hour class. He always brings up current events at the beginning of class and i learned a ton about our government and politics in general. If you find his lectures to be boring, you most likely have ADD or ADHD.
dude this guy is amazing and surprisingly attractive for an old man and he is italian which mean he is super delicious (all italians are attractive) when i am not staring at his butt he is a great teacher (except for the undeniable fact that he is married and he doesn't return graded work) his rugged attractiveness does get in the way of work tho.
THE MOST BORING CLASS EVER!!! and I dont have ADD.He always keeps us late after class never grades assignments and blabs on and on.Everything he says in an hour lecture can be said in 20 min.He doesn't grade anything so u never know how good/bad ur doing. otherwise, it's an easy class but i think my sanity is more important than easy classes.
For each chapter there is an assignment and online quiz. You can do the quiz's as many times as you want with only the highest score counting. He is a great teacher but never hands back work on time. He is aweful at returning tests and assignments. He offers a bunch of easy extra credit opportunities.
I really enjoyed this class. Professor is interesting & knowledgeable. The assignments were thought provoking & worth doing. Lots of extra credit opportunities - DO them!I would definitely take another class with him.
He is a really good teacher. His class has a lot of work, but he keeps things interesting. People only fail the exams when they DON"T go to class. Over all one of my favorite classes of all time.
BEST.PROFESSOR.EVER! I love this guy so much. Knows EVERYTHING about this subject and makes class so fun/interesting. The class is really easy, and if you actually go to class there's no way you can fail. He's super-nice too, and very reasonable. My friend and I once debated him and won, lol.
He's a good guy, pretty fun. I understand a lot where he comes from on many things and I admire his sense of humor, but I cannot find it in me to agree with a lot of things he says.
Great teacher!! and he's so cute. lol
He's not that bad, (looks-wise) and when I firsted started taking this class I was nervous that I wouldn't understand anything at all! But this guy is amazing! Class is not boring, no monotone, explains well. just take notes, doesnt teach anything thats not on the exam. take notes tho! they'll be xtremly helpful
This was one of the most beneficial classes I've ever taken. He is an entertaining, knowledgeable public speaker who makes it very hard to fail the class if you actually attend. His lectures make the long assignments worth the effort.
Mr.Ceriello is a fantastic teacher, if you show up to class. However there is a serious amount of reading each week.Normally two chapters around 110 pages. So in the event you get a serious illness as I did during the class, GOOD LUCK. Online quizzes are extremely hard, even when I read the chapters 2 or 3 times over I would still get 18 out of 25.
Ceriello is a good guy, however he is very unclear about pretty much everything. I was told quizzes were open until sunday when actually they were open until saturday, I replied to an email where he told me they were open until sunday saying "wow I thought it was saturday" and he didn't bother to reply to tell me that only one was open until sunday
How does he not have a chilli pepper? He is so HOT! Good teacher too.
his class isn't hard as long as you show up and do the work, he grades really really really slowly. assignments are eye opening, which i think is the point. i would take him again
I absolutely loved this class... it almost convinced me to change my major from Education to Political Science. Professor Ceriello is very passionate about his subject and he inspires you to care about it as well. The assignments can be long but they are interesting. By far my favorite class ever at Clark... and the sexiest teacher I've ever had.
He was awesome! Made his lectures interesting and always gave students chances to get into discussions. Only bad thing is he teaches PolySci, but does not try hard enough to cover up that he is a democrat, so there was a little bias. But this was one of my favorite classes!
He is an amazing teacher, very nice and helpful. He cares about students and always cheers us up to get through the tough study.Take his class, you'll feel you're always encouraged.I enjoy this course study because of the teacher. Isn't it interesting!
I loved this class so much that I wish I could take it again! The material is interesting and relevant, and Ceriello is an awesome teacher. He knows his stuff, he's funny, very helpful, fair (and yes ladies, incredibly good-looking). Come to class, take notes, and pay attention in order to do well on the exams. The best course I've taken at Clark.
I LOVE THIS CLASS. He's a great teacher! He really makes you question things and want to dig deeper! Take this class and you will definitely understand "American Government and Politics" sooo much better.
Ceriello is the man. He loves the subject and it shows in his lectures. Weekly quizzes can be taken as many times as you want. Some hw is due throughout the quarter and can get lengthy but is easy. His tests are fairly easy and he offers a ton of extra credit. He doesn't grade anything until near the end of the quarter though.
This man was my favorite teacher by far. There are assignments due on Friday and weekly quizes due on Saturday night but they're easy and useful. He makes political science fun and his tests are easy. Since he ran out of room to take one of our midterms we just skipped it and added it to the final which was matching. It was a great class!
Nice Guy, makes class fun. Doesn't give any exams or assignments back though. Quiz on each chapter of the text book and they are hard, but you can re-take them as many times as you want. 15 quizzes, 3 exams (easy), and about 7 assignments. Read the chapters thoroughly and you will be fine.
Very biased so its hard to learn in class if u have your own political view points.
He was an extremely helpful and understanding teacher, he gives a lot of extra credit, most of it volunteering and success workshops, you could find extra credit that relates. he teaches from a students perspective cuz we don't know much about politics... or at least dont participate in voting. he is not biased at all
Cool teacher just didn't like that he didn't update blackboard with my grade. It also took him so time to get our assignments back.
Best Professor I've had at Clark. Gives a lot of extra credit. Tests are taken straight off of power points
Best teacher Ive had at Clark so far. He makes class interesting and doesn't grade too hard. You can retake the quizzes as many times as you want and the exams are straight from the lecture. I definitely recommend taking him for for gov. and politics.
Loved this class! Ceriello was slightly biased, but knew the subject well and was great at communicating to the class. A lot of lecturing, power points and online quizzes, but as long as you pay attention and study you'll be fine. Overall, great professor.
Michael was an amazing teacher! He explained all of the assignments thoroughly. This was so far the easiest class I've taken. I didn't even have to try and I got an A in the class.
Overall a great teacher. He's funny so class is interesting. However the material in the book (We the People) I thought was kind of hard to understand, which especially sucks because of the weekly quizzes. So there's a lot of reading (80ish pages a week for 2 chapters) So I suggest you have an interest in government, I don't
Michael was definitely a really good teacher. I had absolutely no interest in politics/government before I started the class but I've learned so much and it's pretty interesting. There are weekly chapter quizzes, but you can take them as many times as you want, so just be sure to read the chapters. I recommend him though!
This class was very beneficial to me. Prior to political science, I knew little about politics. I followed the news occasionally, but I was never really well versed in it. Because of this class I love politics. I keep very up to date on current events and I am excited to vote!
Attendance was optional, but his lectures answered all the study guide questions for the exams (3) and he kept them interesting! He enjoys the subject, and is willing to answer questions. Online weekly quizzes (multiple choice, very easy), easy weekly assignments, LOTS of extra credit opportunities. Easily passable class, I would recommend him!
Mr. Ceriello was an excellent teacher. You can tell he has been doing this for a while. I like his usage of Moodle and how we take all of our Quizzes online and immediately see our grades. He knows his stuff well and kept us very informed on current events. He is one of the better teachers I have had.
Great teacher.Easy and helpful. 3 tests, he gave everyone 100% on one and canceled another. Answers all study guide questions, everything on tests is on study guide. There is weekly reading and homework, but it isn't to difficult. Makes a boring class bearable.
Super cool laid back guy and he grades pretty easy most of the time..all the assignments are all online which can be kinda hard to keep up with sometimes but overall it is a pretty chill class! and his last name.. ya :)
Very funny! Always fair and the tests are pretty easy if you come to class.
He's honestly the best teacher I've had at Clark so far. He really knows his stuff and explains things in a way that makes sense. Definitely try to take his class! He has a great sense of humor and is willing to help you out. Before taking his class I could have cared less about politics; now I actually understand it and find it quite interesting.
He is really nice, and usually isn't very boring. He shows several videos. Attendance is not mandatory, but a lot of in-class stuff shows up on the test. The biggest issue with him is GRADES. You have no idea what your grade is until the very end. He doesn't pass papers back, doesn't really know a general idea of where a student is if they ask.
Michael was extremely easy going and nice, with a definite passion for political science. He is a very fair grader and his class is enjoyable. Online quizzes are annoying but very easy, as are the exams. I would definitely take another class of his!
AMAZING PROFESSOR!!!! Im not big on politics, but his class, it was really interesting.. hes really easy going and youll learn soo much!
Overall this class was just ok. Someday's I learned interesting things, and others I wished I would have just went home. He's a rather hard grader, I would do quality assignments and then get D's or C's on them...The chapter quizzes are rather difficult and require word-by-word reading of the text book- they're rather frustrating.
Best professor I have ever had! He is very passionate about politics and makes class so interesting. I wasn't looking forward to taking this class, but Michael made it very fun. He's very nice and helpful and a very easy grader. Highly recommend him as a professor!!!!
ceriellos what made me decide to change my major to political science, even though ive had no previous history with it. consider his classes a "crash course" or "politics for dummies" type, cause you dont know how much youve learned until you actually partake in a political conversation. and not gonna lie, hes kinda hot. in an old weird way.
Helped me become more interested in politics for sure. I had no interest before this class and now I tend to actually care, three quarters later.
Quizzes are online (you can usually google the answers). His powerpoints are very clear, and his mid-term and final tests are NOT grade breakers, and are usually unconventional! Take him if your interest level for PolySci is low!
Ceriello is a really nice and helpful professor. I did struggle having an interest level, however, he made it bearable.
He was AMAZING! This class is lecture based but it didn't feel that way because everything was so interesting! Also, I laughed at least twice every day! Definitely would take another of his classes!
Mr. Ceriello is seriously one of the coolest teachers you'll ever have. His class is super easy if you pay attention. Quizzes are online and usually one assignment and one quiz per week. Political Science never interested me before this. He cracks jokes and well , makes it fun! Take his class, you wont regret it.
Ceriello is a decent professor. His tests are all off powerpoints in class. Weekly homework assignments take no more than an hour. I didn't read the book at all. Weekly online quizzes from the reading (but there's an website that you can study the terms from the book rather than read it). Extremely biased liberal, but it's an easy A if you study.
AWESOME teacher. Was very clear in the syllabus about what was required for his course. We didn't use the book all that much but there are some questions on the quizzes that relate directly to the book. Exams are EASY!!! The class was a blast & he's really funny. Always has a different tie for every day which I thought was amusing. TAKE HIS CLASS!!
Do not expect taking his class online to be easy. Some weeks there are 2 50 question quizzes and several assignments and discussions to be done in a week. Also, by the end of finals week he had only graded 4 weeks worth of assignments. The assignments and discussions were well thought out and were enjoyable, but time consuming.
Ceriello is great, but his class is kinda time consuming. One 25 online quiz and assignment every week. The assignments usually take an hour or two, the quizzes 30 minutes. There is an insane amount of extra credit, so it's impossible to fail if you do the extra credit. Three exams total, one is take home. No final.
I don't know why everyone is complaining about taking him. He is easy. Period. 3 exams, 1 take home and sometimes its all take home. Don't skip class cause everything on notes is on the test! His lectures are long but always learn something new. Definitely recommend him. Its easy! coming from a former running start student:) Oh and quizzes are easy
fun, easy, awesome
The best professor i've had so far. He is very funny and his lectures are interesting. You will learn a lot if you go to class. He gives out a lot of extra credit so it's an easy A. I highly recommend him.
Easiest class EVER. Just do the assignments, and you'll pass. You submit almost everything online and the tests were all take home except for the final, which was even easier than the tests! He's always wanting to help, he knows what he's talking about, and makes it easy to understand, since he uses powerpoint.
very organized and helpful would definately recomend.
There were weekly quizzes online based on the textbook readings. There were also online assignments. 3 exams & 1 was take home. Tests come directly off his power points and he provided a good study guide which is very similar to the exam. No classwork or participation. He talks the whole class time and answers questions
he dope tho
This professor is literally the most organized teacher I've ever had. He is super clear about what he expects on assignments and he updates Canvas daily. Assignments are actually practical, and I've learned a lot. I recommend.
Definitely one of the best professors I've had! He is super organized and clear in his grading criteria. His lectures are interesting, I am always looking forward to his class! Most of the assignments are online and all the quizzes are online. He doesn't have an attendance policy, but some of his lectures are not in the textbook. Great class!
THIS IS THE BEST CLASS EVER!! This is by far the best class I've ever taken. I learned so much about politics and I also found a real interest that I never realized I had before. There is a lot of online work but I highly recommend taking the on-campus version. Mr. Ceriello is absolutely hilarious and he makes learning so fun! (:
This guy is great at teaching. He is super organized, so you know exactly what is expected of you. Class time is dedicated to him lecturing, but he makes them interesting! Lots of online homework and quizzes, but nothing too hard. The exams were take home (woohoo!). Learned a ton about Polly Sci, take him!
I don't recommend buying the textbook, I never read anything and passed with 94%. Great guy, very laid back. Only one group project. Weekly quizzes, super easy, I recommend using quizlet for them. Lots of extra credit, start doing it early to get more points. We had 2 take home exams and a final. He doesn't take attendance, but its helpful to come.
If you miss a few days of clase, don't worry.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS online. First off, the workload was so much, even for a 5 credit class. By far the most I've done in any online class. Some weeks we had two discussions, an assignments, and two tests due by Saturday. Each test is so long and trivial. They're 50 questions in 50 minutes with 5 attempts. DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER
Very calm. Won't forcefully call on students. Easy going. Lots of extra credit. Don't buy the book, you don't really need it. Use quizlet for quizzes. Only one group project. Will round up your grade at the end. I canot say enough good things about him. Take his class, you won't regret it. Learned quite a bit about politics and what goes on in gov.
A lot of homework, two tests (50 q,timed), plus multiple discussions a week. Very stern rules, misread or it could mean your grade. Doesn't respond to email for weeks at a time; don't bother asking a question for that weeks lecture. Doesn't grade till the two weeks prior to finals. EXTREMELY TIME CONSUMING CLASS.
By the looks of reviews I wouldn't take online but I have taken it in person and wouldn't regret it one bit. Attendance is not mandatory but it is helpful. I never bought the book just quiz let for online quizzes. You get 1-2 a week and the last week we had 3 but they're super easy. We had 2 take home exams than our final was cancelled. lots of EC
Michael was a great teacher for my political science class. He made current affairs the main topic of lectures while his weekly quizzes were based off the book. Definitely read your book because his lectures will not contain everything you need for the quizzes. He is very passionate about his subject.
You don't really have to show up, it's not graded, but you really should obviously. There's a lot of quizzes but they're easy. The textbook isn't really needed, you can google most of what you need to find.
He doesn't really care if you show up, but you need to study EVERY night! Also, get ready for weekly quizzes on Canvas for the chapter reading. Personally, Political Science doesn't interest me, so I bring coffee and try to stay awake the best I can. Overall, he seems nice.
Easily the best professor I've ever had. His opinions regarding the subject are pretty obvious, but all of his statements are credible and he isn't afraid to admit fault if he ever gets called out on something (which is rare). He won't ever grade you based on your opinion, just on the structure of your claim. Very current event based.
He seems like a good teacher with a strong approach, but he puts way too much work in the week. I don't feel like so much work needs to be put into our laps to make the material land. Counter-intuitive in my opinion. The quizzes aren't terribly hard, but be wary of correct answers being marked wrong in the online quiz module!
Ceriello knows what he's talking about and is very reasonable and fair. As long as you turn in the assignments, you'll receive credit. Exams are time-consuming but simple as long as you take notes in class; quizzes are multiple choice (you have five free tries, which is awesome). Several chances for extra credit. Easy to pass if you put in the work
I went to his class maybe 20 times (at least) the whole term. Granted, I took it daily and all he did was talk about Trump, but I found that it was one of those classes that aren't super necessary to go to. As long as you do the weekly assignments and weekly quizzes, you should be golden.
Michael is a funny guy. There are 1-2 quizzes with up to 5 tries each and one assignment a week. Most of the questions from the quizzes are on quizlet. First exam we were able to work with the people at our table and the second was a take home. It takes him weeks to grade your assignments which bothered me, but other than that I liked this class.
This teacher was great. All of his homework assignments are easy and he grades leniently as well. His lectures were passionate and you could tell that he knows a lot about this subject. Definitely recommend taking him for pols!
He is a fantastic professor. Class attendance is not mandatory, but a lot of what is talked about during lecture will be on the tests. There are weekly quizzes and three tests a quarter. He is a fair grader and explains things really well.
He is a really good teacher. Gives amazing lectures and its funny. The exams are not hard if you study. He gives a study guid and as long as you do and memorize all of the questions you should get a A. Definitely recommend him.
Political science with Michael has been really great. Only a few weeks of the quarter where you have two online quizzes instead of one. He makes hearing about politics and current events a lot more enjoyable.
Watch out He loves to shove his political views down students throats. The class almost seemed pointless to me because I felt like his lectures didnt teach me anything.
Get ready to sit in lectures. Youll taken 1 to 2 quizzes a week plus 3 exams during the quarter. He makes some funny comments but I do not recommend his class!
I read maybe 4 pages of the textbook, showed up to like half of the classes and still passed the class, weekly quizzes on canvas, super easy. It's the exams that are a LOT of work. I ended up with all take home exams but they are tedious and take a lot of time. He bashes Trump a lot though, which is funny. He gives extra credit opportunities too.
Most of the assignments were on canvas; there was a written assignment and 1-2 quizzes per week. Throughout the quarter we had 3 take-home exams that I definitely needed to use the textbook on. He takes a long time to grade assignments, so for the whole quarter I wasn't really sure of my true grade which was frustrating. Do the extra credit!
He was pretty nice but doesnt really give feedback all that often unless you ask. Discussion post, assignment and quiz are due each week and sometimes he does double chapters each week.
The class was fine, he was fine. I took online political science 111. We had to purchase / rent the textbook, I did. Never opened the textbook once. Hes also an extremely slow grader, took weeks to get a graded assignment back. So it was challenging to know what your actual grade was in the class.
3 exams, he gives study guides. each class is a lecture with a powerpoint. doesn't take attendance. hates on trump the first half of the quarter then conservatives the other half of the quarter. quizzes online but there are quizlets w answers, some are take home, lots of extra credit, & easy assignments. I didn't even read my book. no final. easy!!
I took his class online and it was so much work. Most of it wasn't hard but it was very time consuming and on top of two quizzes and two assignments a week I also had to read a ton. Ended up with a good grade but he definitely makes you work for it.
Super easy to pass. Tests arent worth much, assignments take maybe an hour, discussions are opinion based, almost all of the inquizitive answers are on quizlet. Attendance isn't mandatory and it doesnt hurt if you dont go or leave early (there are a few in class assignments though)
Easy class! The teacher gives a crazy amount of extra credit and is a very easy grader! Great person and a very great teacher!
During finals week, when we were already stressed out about finals in other classes, he gave us additional 5 assignments that we had to complete in only 4 days. He would usually give about 4-5 different assignments that were time-consuming and not easily understood and completed.
He would test us each week with a timed test, that was very difficult even for the best students. He gave a ton of work and assignments and never graded anything. His class was very stressful and took more time than it should've. Even during finals week he made us do extra assignments that were graded with the rest of the course.
I took this class in person, and it was easy for the most part. Every week, there is a short discussion and an online inquisitive. There is also an assignment every other week. There are 3 tests (no final) which are pretty easy and you get a study guide for. He takes a long time to grade things, and he likes to talk about his own political views.
Didn't respond to anyone's email for a week then made an announcement that he was "sick." You can't just ghost us. I'm stressed and feel like I can't even reach my teacher. I understand being stressed but tell us in advance. He has only graded the FIRST assignment and we're halfway through the quarter. At least he gives extra credit but...
Do not take this class if you think it will be easy. I went into this class thinking this professor would be great since he had a 4+ score, I was WRONG. He never grades anything and he assigns TOO MUCH. He gives us a 50 question quiz EVERY WEEK and we only have 50 minutes to do it. He does NO teaching at all. I'm basically teaching myself! 1/10
The content and assignments are more tedious than hard. The class is pretty easy overall, a quiz or two each week, an inquisitive, an assignment, and a discussion post. He has some weird rules for formatting the assignments and you will lose points if you don't follow them. He also takes way too long to grade the assignments. Nice guy though.
HE ASSIGNS WAY TOO MUCH WORK. He gives us timed quizzes, an assignment, an Inquizitive, and a Discussion every week. He also takes way too long to grade assignments. I wouldnt recommend this class if you are someone who procrastinates, or cant handle a heavy workload.
Political Science & National Government is a heavy topic, and Michael guides you through it quite well. There's a lot of reading, as well as an inQuizitive and an assignment (like writing to a gov't official or a short paper) every week. The final is nothing special. Do all the reading and space out your work throughout the week, and you'll be fine
A discussion, inquisitive, writing assignment, and 50 question 50 minute quiz every week (some weeks are double work). What you'd expect in onlineclass Read the text, because there are no lectures. Easy A if you're a fast test taker or have accommodations from DSS. He is understanding if you have an emergency. Nice guy, but takes forever to grade
Overall, a good professor he takes a while to grade things and isn't very accessible in my experience. He assigns about 1 chapter a week, there are a few 2 chapter weeks. Overall, it's informational but I taught myself throughout much of it. Good luck if you are taking this class cause you are going to need it- some weeks felt longer than others.
As with a lot of online classes, the professor is somewhat hands-off and lets you read the text. Same format every week with the exception of a couple weeks: one Inquizitive assignment, one quiz, and three discussion posts in a week. Easy to do well. Unfortunately grading takes a very long time in this class and he doesn't seem to respond to emails
This professor had inappropriate behavior during class.
He allows late work. His super flexible as long as you keep him informed. He is super fast in answering emails. His lectures are informative. If you are a trump supporter be prepared to be insulted on a regular bases. But he is hilarious in my opinion. There is a lot of reading but some chapters are just redundant. 2 ch weeks sometimes.
The overall class was super fun to attend obviously there was a lot of work but was a really great class.
Michael Ceriello is the kindest professor youll ever meet. He is respectful of all his students, there when you need him and a very wonderful guy to be around! I would 100% take his class again. However do expect to read and watch videos, write a weekly paper, an inquisitive or two, a chapter quiz and a discussion. Expect thanksgiving week off
Professor Ceriello was a very good lecturer. They were interesting, and it was easy to follow. Make sure to take notes, all of what he says will be on the midterms and finals. Instead of one comprehensive final, we had 3 midterms. 1 chapter reading, an inquisitive, a discussion, and a quiz per week. Sometimes double weeks.
Decent teacher. I reached out to him about a paywall on some of the required readings and he didn't respond to me for almost 5 weeks. He also waited until week 7 to start grading assignments which is frustrating as a student. Assignments were helpful though and I did learn quite a bit in this class.
I like Professor Ceriello as a person, but he assigns a lot of homework. It is hard to balance all of my classes because of it. He can be really funny though.
I really enjoyed this class. Everything that is gone over in class is on the midterms so attendance is mandatory. 1 Inquisitive & 1 chapter quiz each week as well as a page long assignment. The assignments weren't too much of a headache though. If you are taking other classes then the work load might be a lot but overall I liked this class.
Ceriello is by far the worst professor I have ever met. Nearly everything he says is completely fabricated and so far from the truth it makes it difficult to learn. His goal is not teaching truth to students rather it is to indoctrinate them to the radical left ideology and belittle any students who challenge his ridiculous viewpoints.
Professor Ceriello is a kind, knowledgeable instructor. The course workload is heavy, with weekly quizzes, assignments, and discussions. Staying on top of the readings is key. Unstuck study proved helpful for practice and review.
Prof. Ceriello was an amazing teacher, he let people choose who and what they like, so long they can justify their thoughts. Exams are ONLY based on whats covered IN class, the online textbook is just a cherry on-top for deeper understanding and good for chapter quizzes. He lets you freely express your thoughts. Many extra credit opportunities.
For how hard this class was, he is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. His workload is heavy but its all relatively easy work. He compassionate, funny, charismatic, and a great teacher. He's very respectful about accommodations and he will wish you a happy holiday. The class schedule was very oragnized and easy to follow.
Professor Ceriello is awesome. His lectures are long but engaging and easy to follow. The weekly workload is well-organized and manageable. There are three exams throughout the quarter, with no final exam. The third exam only covers the most recent material, which is convenient.
RS student here. Ceriello is a great guy-he has my respect and he was kind to the whole class. He often forgets to give us breaks so hopefully he'll wear a watch next quarter. He is always reasonable with exam material. Get a couple study buddies, form a study group for exams. Put aside time each week to read the textbook. Don't slack off!
Very boring lectures. Ceriello is obviously knowledgeable about the topics that he talks about, but he has a tendency to rant about how much he hates Trump for hours over the quarter. Lecture has no right to be so long, and even as someone with "radical" leftist politics, his rants get annoying fast. If you can sit through boring lecture it's easy.
I really liked how he presented arguments for all sides. It was very interesting to hear his perspectives on things. He would tease sometimes but it was meant to provoke thought. If someone got upset he would try to work things out/reframe professionally and maturely.
