SOO easy! I went to this class maybe 4 times in the first semester and as long as you go to the classes right before the major tests you'll pass I passed with an A and I barely ever went. He is cool and teachs good, and you get to listen to music a lot

Very easy, my most mellow class. Optional attendence, no homework. Grade based off two tests. You get to learn a lot about music and art. He is a pretty cool guy.

He's one of the best teachers.He's a very inteligant professor.He has Ph.d from Standford and also speaks italian and french.Not only I've learned so much in his class, I've also enjoyed having a conversations with him and learned alot.

He by far should be recieving teacher of the year. He is 110% involved with students and is always helping one when it comes to comments and questions. I really enjoyed his class and I wish it wouldn't have came to an end.

Channing is awesome. The class has one final that is take home and due 2 weeks before class. He tells the class that you dont even need to be in class on the first day. He is hilarious because hes kinda off onhis own planet. Talk to him if you see him around campus.

I learned a great deal from taking Channing's Hum 1 class. If you like lectures and taking notes with a witty remark installed every other sentence, then take him. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE LECTURES, and NOTE TAKING, with an ESSAY for a midterm and final, then do not take him, it's that simple.

Channing is soooooo easy... This is what you do to get an "A". You go to the first class, then go to the class before the midterm/final and get the topic of the essay and study it for 10 mins and then write and get an "A". You don't even have to go to class!!! Prof. Channing is a BLAST! I loved his class. there is no homework, reading is a must and taking notes in lecture. 1 essay mid-term and 1 essay final. you can't go wrong taking this class!!! not to mention learning, his sense of humor is great!!!!

AWSOME teacher, the most interesting class ever, too bad the other professor (CHattopadhaya) wouldnt let the man talk AT ALL... He is very interesting though, wonderful sense of humor and very smart... You'll wanna go to class just to hear what he'll have to say. I have had Channing for several classes. His style is really laid back: often very late to class. If you can keep his cell phone from ringing in class you may get his attention. Anyway, he is very intelligent, and funny. He lets you pick what's on the final. Just ask him questions so he continues to stay focused and you will learn lots.

I went to the first day and i went for the final and got an A+. He doesnt take attendance nor gives out homework. Some semester's he'll give a midterm but not mine. For the papers just find out from someone who actually goes what the question for the test is then you can have a 5x7 card to write on. He's funny on top of it all

VERYYYYY easy! only a paper due for the final, thats it, no tests, no homework nothing! He lectures everyday or you watch a movie. He does not take attendance or anyhthing, so you can get the lecture notes from someone in class if you miss. The paper is on 4 topics that he gives in the beginning and its on 70% lecture notes 30% book-EASY!

I can't complain much I recieved good grades in each class. Just show up to class when you can do the work and sit back and watch him. He may freak out now and then but it's all talk... he is a nice guy when you talk to him out of class...his clothing is a little dated but it adds to his charachter and shows you how much he likes to read.

i took english 1b and humanities with him and he is so cool! we got to watch orange county the movie and he is sooo chill!!!

Channing is chill no HW only videos and lecture always get to leave early two tests thats it...You'd be a fool not to take him for humanities or english

Irritated that he only taught class for no more than 30 min. Grade based on 2 tests, so show up to class because the material is only from the lectures. Easy class, it would have been nice to have more points available for opportunities to not show up. No attendance taken, so he really has no idea who is who.

He teaches very clearly what he expect to his students. If you follows what his directions to writing you will be fine. I did not miss any class and helped me to improve my writing! He is so generous and helpful! Thanks Dr. Channing!

Great personality! Great sense of humor! Channing is one of the best teachers I've taken at Saddleback. He tells you what you need to know and throws in some very funny jokes. With only two tests to determine your grade though, take lots of good notes and study them well. It is an easy class to pass, but a hard one to get an A in.

Currently taking this class, and he makes you buy the book for this class, but I hear you don't have to for the other ones. The midterm and the final consist of 25 questions each, and is done on a scantron. Class is always out early, and he comes late, so class is really short. I think this will be a breeze!

If you are lucky enough to get into his class, do it. Just don't expect to learn a lot through lecture. Two papers, both of them make up the mid-term and final. You get to choose whatever topic you want.

Channing is flat out one of the best teachers I've ever had... PERIOD. He jokes around all the time in class. The other day he answered his cell in class twice and was having a funny conversation. He shows up late most of the time, lets u out after 30-45min, tells u NOT to waste money on the textbook and tests are way easy. He is also a genius!

One of the easiest classes I've taken at Saddleback. Channing rarely shows up to class on time, and dismisses everyone a half hour early. He doesn't assign homework; entire grade is based off of a midterm and final exam, both of which are multiple choice and 25 pts each. Very easy if you come to class and take good lecture notes. TAKE HIM! A+++

EASIEST ENGLISH CLASS I HAVE EVER TAKEN!!! I just got done taking Channing for summer and passed with an A. All we had to do was write 3, 8-10 page papers, which kind of sucked but u got use to it. Really easy grader, I don't think he read our essays just checked if u had footnotes and at least 8 pages, and if u did u got an A. TAKE HIM!!!!

Professor Channing is an amazing teacher, he is funny and extremely intelligent as well. You don't have to attend his class but you should just because it is so interesting, class is no longer than 40 minutes and there is no textbook or homework assigned. 2 tests, midterm and final, 50 points each.

Coolest Professor in English Writing department, seriously.Anyhow, he has a dry sense of humor which doesn't make this class boring.Most important, if you turn in the final paper early in the end of the semester before the due date, then you don't have to go into the class to waste your time anymore.So,I had an early winter break than others.

Must take this class during summer. Super easy, just show up, listen to art related stuf, and take notes. He does not have a text and lets you out early. Attendance is not required but it sure make the midterm and final.

Best way to pass ENG1A and ENG1B. Time in class is used to type papers - if you use the time there is no work required out of class. Take accelerated class if possible. Great class.

One of my top and favorite teachers without a doubt. Makes sure his students learn, as well as stay awake!! Tells great jokes pertaining to the work, and makes you like and want to come to class. He makes things simple, where other professors would make it a NIGHTMARE. He's clear in what he wants, and tells it how it is. This is one of the BEST professors I've had! I took Professor Channing for Eng 1B and Humanities. I absolutely adore him. He is extremely funny, and actually makes you want to come to class! :) He is full of information, and could teach an entire class on several subjects (no text book) better than most teacher can WITH a textbook. He save his students money, and always keeps it interesting!!

Took him for 3 classes Spring semester and he was great! He cut through much of the BS of an English class and focused on your ability to write. You must write 4 papers (3-4 pages each). Once you're done, you don't have to attend the class for the rest of the semester. Allows you write papers in class with a laptop. Does NOT add petitioners, EVER!

Channing is my favorite professor at Saddleback. He really cares about your progress. If you do what you're told, you'll get an A. He can't make it any easier.

His class is so easy. Your grade is made up of 2 exams that he gives you the answers to, nothing else. Channing's a funny guy, but if you actually want to learn something, he probably isn't the prof you want. I can definitely see why he's so popular, though.

Basically you show up (BRING YOUR LAPTOP! or you'll be sitting there with nothing to do), work on your essays. Though it is a hassle to write 4 essays that are 10 pgs. The final essay is 8pgs. Though sometimes he feels bad & makes them all 8pgs. Pretty funny guy. No final/textbook, attendance isn't enforced, likes wine lol. Know MLA & A is granted.

A qualified English teacher. Graduated UCSB, Yale, and Stanford. Has a good sense of humor. Towards the end of the semester he showed Shakespeare in Love and broke down all these hidden character connections you would only know if you knew all of Shakespeare's plays and his personal life. He has an interesting perspective on all things in general.

No joke, this was the ABSOLUTE BEST & MOST CHILL CLASS EVER!!!! If you can get him - DO IT, or the joke is on you!

First off, yes this class is an easy A, but only if you show up and take decent notes. I got an A and missed one class. I put in maybe an hour of studying the day before the midterm and final. Thats all you need, but if you do not have notes, since there's no book, you won't score well on the tests. He tells you exactly what he wants! EASY

Channing is the sweetest teacher ever always cracking jokes. Easy A there was supposed to be 3 8-10 page papers but the class voted on 2 and he was fine with that. Did nothing in class except work on the essays. I only went on the days the papers were due and got an A in the class.

Overall great teacher. He makes it sound harder than it actually is in the beginning. One requirement - Attendance! There is absolutely no book, no homework, no study guides. If you take good notes and then study your notes you will get an A! He stresses the necessity of good writing skills which concerned me but I got an A. He is hilarious.

Professor Channing made my approach to literature a much more enjoyable endeavor than it would have been otherwise with his good humor, laid-back style and with this simple, concise advise; “Just ask yourself what is so significant about this work to make it enduring?”

One of the best professors I have had in my overall college exp. He's very passionate about the Humanities and is extremely helpful. Ask for clarity if desired and show up to his lectures. Chanbing is a super cool teacher. He only had us take a mid term (6 pages in a little blue book) and a final (6 pages little blue book). Attendance is not mandatory. Hes super funny too!

Other line, <random guy> "Can we write about animal testing?" <Channing> "Animal testing?! What, you mean if they prefer multiple choice or free response?"

This is by far the most laid-back professor that there is. There's really not much to do other than the midterm and final. Take good notes because it's not a walk in the park. One thing to take into consideration, he may be chill but he's also a Stanford alumni and will help you learn about history and humanities.

Channing doesn't give one frickle. Literally shows up, talks about images on google, and lets you go early. I didn't go to class for a month straight and still did well. He does not sensor himself so if you are easily offended try another professor. Overall cool dude and class. Would recommend if you want no work load and 3 units

He's super chill and HILarious! Why I took him? NO BOOKS, NO LECTURES, NO WASTING YOUR TIME! Literally the entire semester revolves around 23 essays which must meet 1) the minimum page requirement including works cited & 2) the MLA format. EASIEST ENGLISH PROF EVER, easier than my 1A prof, take him for both, while you still can!!! BEST! #nuffsaid

Channing is honestley a great teacher. Take him if you want an easy A i got an A the only thing i did not like was his midterm was easy but his final was hard?? A lot of questions were on there that were not given in the notes. He doesn't take attendance so you don't have to show up but ALL of his questions are based on the notes so take notes.

Midterm: 25 multiple choice questions. Final: 25 multiple choice questions. There is no homework, reading or other assignments. Enough said.

If you need this course and want an easy A, then this class is for you. Even though you don't learn anything about writing or anything English related, this class was a great buffer when taking a hard class load. He is really funny and entertaining while you sit there and write papers in his class!

Funniest prof I've ever had, freaking awesome, like pro comedian TV level. Class is just working on papers on laptops. 3 papers 7 pages each on social topics, no reading. Easy grader if you do the work. Will review your paper and make corrections as you go if you ask. Wont let anyone add, do not bother trying to get in he wont let you, seriously.

Channing has an odd sense of humor and actually knows what he's talking about. Take the class if you want an easy A and a few laughs. His jokes are pretty raunchy and can offend people but he means well, kind of. He doesn't take attendance and there's no book. Just take notes and you'll be fine. After having him i only filled 6 pages of notes.

Seriously, if you can get in his class ( since it fills up quickly) TAKE HIM. He is so funny and his lectures are literally for 30 min and lets you leave early. I skipped class for a solid 3 months... as long as you get the notes from someone else you're golden. His midterm and final are straight from his notes, so make sure you have it. TAKE HIM

Wow! Easiest class on campus and definitely an easy A. Only a midterm and a final makeup your grade, but both exams are very straightforward and straight from his notes. He wants everyone to pass his class, literally gave us 10/25 of the answers from the final. Didn't even have a textbook like the other classes, he just Googled images to show us.

Channing was hilarious! This was an easy class with no textbook or homework. Just a midterm and final with 25 questions each. If your other classes drain you out, this one will brighten you day! Only avoid if you can't take Donald Trump jokes. Otherwise, take it if you want a 3 unit class that feels more like a 1 unit class.

This class way nothing but EASY. Professor Channing is hilarious!! You show up to class to work on your essays the whole semester. He does not care what you do during class as long as you complete the few papers assigned. 6-7 page essays on social topics. He is a super easy grader. No other homework, just a few essays for one whole semester. DO IT.

Professor Channing is so cool. He tells you up front what he expects, your grade is dependent on reading the material he says will be on the tests. If you read what is assigned, you will pass. He is a funny professor that doesn't drag the classes on. Take his class if you have the chance. I heard he is great for humanities as well.

This class is extremely easy. If you know a friend who has taken the class, honestly just borrow their notes and you can pass. Channing is funny, and class lectures are let out early by 30 minutes every day.

It's an easy A . Your ONLY graded on two 8-10 page papers. Everyday he lectures for 2 min and then the rest of the time you do your essays. He is a super easy grader. No homework and No exams. Easy G.P.A boost! He's also funny! I took this class in the summer along with much harder classes. If you want the A take him.

He is the best. Once you get to 1B, you're pretty much done with English so end with an easy class.

Such a great professor, I loved his humanities lectures. Notes are important to take for tests even though the tests are extremely easy. He will give you an A if you really want it with extra credit.

All you have to know is that 1) he is HILARIOUS 2) easy course work 3) very intelligent and knows what he is talking about. I left the semester a better reader.

Professor Channing is the best if you want to take a fun, easy, and transferable class. The class is based on two tests: midterm and the final. They are both very easy, but if you happen to do poorly he will let you do an extra credit paper. The tests are 25 questions and they took me less than 15 minutes to complete. He is very funny!

Almost everyone knows he's one of the coolest professors of Saddleback. If you need an easy A, he's your solution. As long as you write your 3 papers and turn them on time. Easy grader. P.S : he's very funny in the class which is not very common with professors at this age lol

Is he hilarious? Absolutely. Does he know what he's talking about? Absolutely. But the class is a joke. We read a few short stories and then watched a movie -and somehow it took up the entire semester. The class consisted of maybe ten students following the first day, with the exception of test days -non mandatory attendance. It's so simple.

Easiest class I've ever taken! Only 1 midterm & 1 final, no textbook. You only read about 5 short stories, as well as Gatsby & watch the movie version of Othello. But you don't even have to show up to every class, or read every story. When you do show up occasionally take notes & use spark notes at home. He's a funny dude & cancels class a lot.

Super nice man! His humanities class was very fun and he is very knowledgeable which is good. He seemed to know what he was talking about! You only write some notes and look at Google Images and he would tell us the important stuff to write down. You are only graded on a midterm and a final.

Definitely your best option if you're just taking the class for the credits. Lectures are easy, he repeats the things you should know for the midterm and final a lot. No required textbook. I previously took ArtH20 which had a lot of the same material he talked about, making the midterm easier. He's also one of the funniest professors ive ever had.

Channing is the most laid back professor ever. He cracks pretty vulgar jokes and will call you out in class, but it is an easy A. You have two tests, midterm and final. Then there are lectures every day, but they don't last longer than 30-45 minutes.

Professor Channing is very straight forward. His class may be boring but he allows you to use the class time to write your papers/get feedback which you should take advantage of. This class is a lot easier than Eng 1A. He does not lecture. Semester is basically made up by 3-4 papers, 6-10 pages long, no midterm/final, no extra credit, no reading.

Super Easy A! Your graded on a midterm and final. They are based off his lectures and are really easy. He literally gives you a good 40% of the questions and top of that he's so funny. Easy G.P.A boost!!!! Highly recommend!!!!!

Channing's lectures are hilarious and really informing. 1 midterm/1 final, both of which he give 60% of the questions/answers for throughout the lecture and during the review during the 2-3 classes before the exams. You don't really need to go to class to pass as he doesn't seem to care, but he's really funny and I'd suggest you go!

Super funny guy. He only graded us on our midterm and final, but they're super easy if you go to class. I missed a good majority, but I still managed to get my final grade higher than expected. He keeps you entertained through out his lectures.

ENG 1B: so easy, 3 total essays for semester, do not have to show up for class (only to turn in the essay) HUM 1: show up to class, take notes, 2 essays total off of notes (in class at midterm/final) He is literally the easiest teacher and he's super chill and laid back. Take him before he retires.

Channing is by far one of the best profs at saddleback. His lectures are very entertaining. All you need to do is show up and take notes. Class never lasts more than 45 mins. attendance isn't necessary, but don't skip too often because your grade is based on the midterm and final. He is a very smart man and i learned so much in this class!

Great professor, made humanities easier to learn. Always made the class entertained like about random stuff like his gardeners . Overall your test is based off of midterm and final. He shares half of the questions if you actually go to class. Many students only show up on first day, midterm and final. I think you got the idea. Take him and learn
