One of the worst teachers i've ever had. It was his first year as a college professor. The guy is young and has no clue how to create tests or teach a class sucessfully. On our last test only 1 person recieved a passing grade, then he refused to curve the grades. Strongly recommend avoiding him until his teaching habits develop.
Professor Chiacchiero has a nice personality, however he can be unorganized, lacks experience, and can sometimes be confusing when teaching.(He will write a problem on the board, realize it is incorrect, and erase it to try again)But, he does try, & is willing to help with questions during his office hours.Requires hw from book & coursecompass.
I really enjoyed professor C's class. Its the first math class I didnt drop. If I had any questions he was always there to help. He fun in class and really easy going. He curved our tests and would drop questions that everyone got wrong. There is a lot of course compass homework but it is really helpfull for the tests. I enjoyed him and he is reall
Not a very good teacher.
He's amusing to observe while he's teaching. Kind of Corky.
He really isn't a good teacher at all. He tries to rush the class so he can get any many lessons done as he possibly can when no one is even ready to move on. We were supposed to have a review in class the other day to get ready for the test, but instead he just moved on to a new chapter and taught us something else. I really would try to stay away
Professor Chiacchiero is a fabulous teacher with a great sense of humor. He really breaks things down for the classroom and will not move on until everyone understands it. Lately, it is hard to concentrate with his awesome smile.
Awesome pre calc teacher took it in summer A and received and A. just go to class and read your book.
He's a good professor. If you respect him, he'll respect you back. He does tend to stretch class time to the very last second. I'm taking him for precalc, and will definitely finish the class with an A. READ YOUR BOOK AND DOO ALL OF THE ONLINE HOMEWORK to get ready for the tests.
Very helpful teacher! I would recommend him! It all really depends on the students, professor C helps you to if you are having troubles and is a wonderful teacher!
i got an A in his class! Best teacher ever!
I took math for liberal arts majors from him my second semester at edison. I was in his very first class ever, monday morning ahha. He was green and it showed, but he grew into an awesome teacher. I hate math, but I like him. Good class for those who don't like math :)
I took Professor C. for lib. 2 and really enjoyed the class. I am not great at math but I did very well in this class. You do not have to take 1 and 2 in order, actually I have heard that 2 is easier than 1. I will def be taking 1 with professor c.
I had Prof. C for Liberal Arts this semester. He was a great teacher! I hate math and I got an A. He is always willing to re-explain to ensure everyone understands. Make sure to do online homework and quizzes. They are good practice for the tests!
very helpful, highly recommend.
Wow I really dislike math. But this professor is so cool and clear with work. he was too good looking. All i suggest is do the online homework cus I totally got a D for being lazy ><
I hate math and this class was a breeze! Ask questions hes great at helping. In class work was fun, all h.w is online! Tests are a little difficult, but just study. Lets you use a note card for the final. Kinda cute, in a nerdy way. Overall GREAT teacher.
This prof. is WONDERFUL! I absolutely HATE math and have never done well. I came out of this class with an A! He's so great and will really do his best to help you understand the material.
If you are planning on taking a Dual-Enrollment class, this is the professor for you. He is amazing, and he broke down everything. He literally memorized the book, so we don't open it up that much. Definitely recommend him.
He moves way 2 fast, won't unlock the lab 4 u 2 do homeworkj, and his test are hard.
AMAZING professor! I've always been TERRIBLE at math and I made an A in both 1106 and 1107 with him. He explains things in a way that's easy to understand. He's the best math teacher at the Collier campus.
Loved him. Best math teacher I've ever had. Not bad on the eyes either. hardly used the book... Easy assignments. He's great. Just ask questions, he loves to answer them....
He should be left to teach college algebra or higher courses. Makes students feel like dumb, doenst provide any help.
Yes, like someone said here, he is not done studying. He needs to go back and learn how to teach, because he has no clue how it is done.
Like he says himself: you are on your own. What that means? he is not going to help you at all. Killed myself with this class, ended up with a C. Avoid him if you can.
Unfurtunately, your only option for some Math courses. He knows Math, no doubt. He can't teach it tough.
Unless you hire a tutor for each chapter, you will fail this class.
Very cold, pick favorites and can care the less if you got the subject or not, he needs to move on. What a waste of time and money.
RUN! if you want a good grade. He is horrible at teaching.
He was a great teacher. Sometimes he would explain things a little strange but he was helpful most of the time. I got an A.
Not the best choice if you dont have a good math background. He wont go back to what you are supposed to know, therefore he will jump steps.
I am sure he is better off teaching MAC or higher courses. He doesnt have patience when it comes to intermediate algebra. That said, pick another professor.
was a really nice guy but doesnt care about your grade; if your good at math this class will be a breez but if you dont understand it very well id recommend another teacher due to his lack of explaining things
Ended up with an 89.79...he did not round it. Avoid this arrogant kid.
Surely great mathatician, not so sure about teaching abilities. Hard subject, to be make somewhat understandable to your become a total useless cluster of information in hands of I-better-then-you-are teacher. Although never said, always showed that he is smarter. Good luck.
Math must be his passion. Teaching is definetely not, its his job, never his career.Do yourself a favor and go with somebody else.
Extremely patient. Very clear about assignments/course reqs+routinely provides practice tests before exams. More than willing to offer extra help after class or during office hrs. He's a good communicator and his teaching style is laidback, consistent, & fun. He's awesome. The online homework is really helpful prep for the exams.
Good teacher, is really patient and knows what he's doing. Takes his time to explain things, his group work is very helpful with learning problems. Is easy if you put the effort into class if not you won't get a good grade... and he's pretty good looking as well ;) Been horrible at algebra all my life up until now.
He teaches very fast, confusing most of the time, he makes things harder then they have to have to be. i would not recommend him.
Not a good professor, he teaches at a really fast rate covering at least two sections each class if not more. His methods of doing things are confusing and harder than what was previously taught to me. He is too young to be teaching you?re better off taking someone else if you want to pass.
I did not choose this professor by choice but decided to give it a chance and after sitting through his class, I would not recommend him to anyone. Yes he is smart but has no concept of being able to convey that information to students in an education manner! Avoid this professor if you can. You will not learn anything.
Prof. Daniels is his idol/mentor. You figure. All I can say is avoid if you can.
It's an upper level course & is treated as such. You don't have to be a genius to excel in it, you just have to be disciplined. He genuinely has the best interest of students willing to put the work in at heart. Bottom line: if you BS your way through school, this isn't the professor for you. Otherwise, highly recommend him.
All the people complaining about this being a fast paces class aren't used to college. It IS fast paced but he is extremely helpful... willing to help in class and has an open door policy for office hours. BONUS: he's so hot! I'm not sure if that helps or distracts for the ladies ;)
Not difficult, just keep up with online homework and come for tests.
He is not a very helpful professor. I do not recommend him. Go to a different campus if you must.
Great teacher, you have to work hard to get the grade you want. And yes he is good looking ladies but your there to learn not drool over the teacher.
Yes he may not be to clear when teaching but you do group work&he will check it with you right there in class so you know what you did wrong. We used mylabsplus(so don't get the textbook) so you have many other resources for help.If you are not good at math or need someone to hold your hand DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.If you have common sense youll be ok.
If you have a good math background then his class is super easy. I already know what he is teaching so it is basically like a review for me. He does not explain well, and if you provide your opinion he will not listen because it is his way or the highway. If you do the hw, and know how to do the math the tests are a breeze.
Awesome teacher
lessons in class werent very helpful because he teaches everything to quickly
he was very helpful. Math is not my best subject but I can do it anybody can. He is very patient answers all your questions even if he has to explain it a few times. As long as you do the work and show up, and put some effort you will do fine.
His in class lesson go by so fast. you have to be responsible and get all you online assingments done he will not remind you at all , so if you keep up you'll pass. I basically taught myself by the online assingments.
Extremely thorough during class lecture, writes everything out as you take your notes and explains step-by-step process of equations with helpful tips. He gives practice tests in class you can work on during that time and ask questions as needed. Very helpful.
He doesn't explain things well. You learn more on your own than from him! Does 3 sections of math in one class. It's way too much to learn in the time of the class. Not very social.
Only grades that count are your tests... and there are only four. He shows up to class and begins without warning. Talks REALLY quiet. Not sociable. I would suggest avoiding this class if you don't understand Algebra before you take the course. Good luck.
He's a good teacher. I would take him for every math class if he taught all of them. I'm sad he doesn't teach the next class I need but I'm so totally hAppy I took him. Plus he is cute ;)
Great professor! Easy assignments online that you can do over until you've got a 100! Quizzes and tests are straight from the material!
He's a great and helpful professor. Homework is all online and can be done as many times till you get it right. Very quick class but if you need extra help meet in office and he will be more then happy to assist you on any topic. Attendance is optional obviously its college but he keeps track and if you never show up it affects grading.
Best math teacher Ive ever had! Had four tests and a final. It was summer semester but we didnt skip any material. The examples he gives in class are directly off of the online homework so all of the problems are similar. The tests are the practice tests, the questions are just in a different order and small number changes. DISREGARD OTHER RATINGS!
I don't recommend this teacher. Goes through the sections too fast.
Tests must be done in a blue book that you must buy and give him at the end of each test even though you may only used one sheet of paper from it which wastes trees. Questions on test are not multiple choice. Not enjoying the class so far.
i liked him, he's a great professor. He is knowledgeable in math. Other students may not like his class because they aren't good in math. If you like math take him. He is good at explaining even though he's kind of quiet.
great, and passionate professor. a really smart guy. honestly cares about the students learning the material, and understanding it. makes himself available during office hours and will happily go over anything you don't understand. go to class or you won't pass.
Requires blue books for his tests and runs through the sections way too quick. Hard to follow. Excepts you to know many things and work hard for the class.
Great professor! Class is tough, but he tries to make it fun and easy. Always very helpful and doesn't judge if you need help - even on easy and obvious Q's. Attend class, do the HW and you will pass. Would definetly take again if he taught the other math courses I needed. He really loves math so he will try his best to make you love it too! ;)
Not easy to follow or compassionate gave me a 68.5 needed 70/c waiting for math graduate Only class left with excellent attendance excellent mathlabplus scores total class group participation low on final cared about himself not best for students who does that ! 1.5 points I think the class participation could got boosted from 95 to 96.5 ??
overall he is a great teacher. If study hard for test you will be fine. most of the questions are multiple choice, but he does have about 3 to four questions that are hand written to test your knowledge. he is there if you have any questions. DO NOT TALK while he is lecturing. he will kick you out.
Overall, the class isn't too bad. I've never been good with math and I've always gotten a bad grade. This class I had a 90% until the 3rd Test which dropped me down to an 87% the 4th Test down to an 83% and I ended up getting a 75% because the final is 25%. He doesn't make the final so what he told us to go over wasn't right, but nothing he can do.
Professor Chiacchiero is very thorough in his teaching habits. Homework and quizzes are online. Tests are during class. He is very easy to understand. If you ever need extra help, don't hesitate to ask him.
It's calculus, you can't expect to easily teach it to yourself. If you take notes in class, you should have no problem scoring an A. All tests are 20-25 questions. He drops your lowest test score and replaces it with the final's score. If you got an 80 on the final, then you'd get an 80 on that lowest test. He's very helpful and wants you to pass!!
He was very specific when teaching us new lessons. He answered all questions, completely. Out of every other teacher or professor I have ever had, I have never understood or LIKED math. I now enjoy doing my math homework, because he taught me so well.
I took Prof. Chiacchiero for Business Calc, and was pretty satisfied! It is Pre-Calc so it is tough to learn outside class. POP Quizzes are frequent, beware! But, he is accommodating towards his class, and one time he felt that it was better to take 2 quizzes online instead (5 Quest. 2 attempts!). Overall, good prof. Explains in detail when asked!
Mixed feelings about this one. His lectures helped me do much better in algebra, but it wasn't very interesting and he seemed a little confused at times. I feel bad for the guy, he was probably just stressed, but come on. He could do better.
Amazing professor highly recommend.
Overall has no personality. He is there to help you but you are basically on your own.
He's a great teacher. A lot of work, harder than average tests, but he loves math so much he would love to go over everything with you. He is an easy grader if you show work. He doesnt mark the whole question wrong, he looks to see if you made small mistakes. He is a bit quiet and has barely any personality, but if you try, you will pass, no prob
I really liked taking MAC1105 with Professor Chiacchiero. I highly recommend him. He will stop and explain anything you don't know and he is easy going. He was also very approachable. As for the class, I would suggest paying attention and taking good notes. If you don't take good notes you will be lost.
I felt like I was teaching myself because he moves very fast. Being someone that struggles with Math this class was hard and I didn't feel like he was willing to help much. I tried teaching myself with notecards and YouTube videos. Tests are very hard and final is worth ALOT of your overall grade.
Do not recommend this professor.
Fantastic professor
I'm terrible at math and decided to take this course on campus. It was seriously so difficult that I was struggling so bad I dropped the class after 3 months. He gives nonstop partner work and papers, teaches so confusingly and quickly, and you're on your own a lot or working with other confused students. He was nice but the class was so difficult.
Hurricane Irma hit in the middle of the semester. Professor Chiacchiero was VERY caring/understanding. He extended the dates on every assignment going forward. Prior, the assignments due dates were reasonable. 6 discussions total along with mylabplus HW and quizzes. Used notes on midterm and final. Give him a try!
He is absolutely an amazing and impressive teacher. Before I started his class, I was scared because I had heard that he was hard and wasnt good at teaching. But end up, I really like him. He is compassionate and willing to help students. Just come to class, pay attention and take the notes, Youll be fine. The tests are easier than the homework.
He is very easy to understand and is always able to help explain anything needed either before and after class, or during his office hours. Very nice and does everything well. Just mainly show up to take the notes and do the hoework on time and you should be fine.
He is absolutely amazing. Hes always there to help those who put hearts to learn. His job is to teach and make you understand. And your job is to study and do the practice to make you better. His class is pretty easy. Just study hard and ask the question. Youll be fine.
Four test throughout the semester along with the final. This is a math class so you have to put in the effort to do well. Homework is done on my labplus.
I had him for College Algebra and his class was alright. The lectures tended to drag on and were somewhat boring, but he did a good job at explaining the information we needed to know in order to pass the class. He was also lenient with homework assignments that students missed due to Hurricane Irma, which was nice of him. Overall, good professor.
Be prepared to take LOTS of notes. (I take notes at a fast pace and event he pace he was moving at was too fast) He isn't very helpful with understanding the topics, if you struggle in math do NOT take this prof. I had to teach myself the material and got extra help and still struggled in this class. Nice guy but awful at teaching.
He is an easy grader, and he does care about how you do as he will always help you out if you have a question. But remember, this is calculus, and calculus is a tough subject if you do not study or put in the work. He removes the lowest quiz score from the final grade.
The whole class this professor just has you take notes. Theres only four tests in the semester. Unless you are naturally good at math, this is not a good class to take. The person sitting beside me taught me more than the professor himself. He does not teach well.
Hes an amazing professor, I dont know why he has such a bad review. He makes sure you understand everything, he lets you take notes, gives easy tests based on the study guides and quizzes. Do your homework and you will pass!
Dont take this Prof if you do not understand math that well. He goes super fast, and barely gives you time to write down. Its all copying notes, mylabsplus, and taking test....... very boring class. Im pretty sure half the class failed.
I'm still in his class and I've had near perfect attendance, his teaching style is very specific and yes it is an option to ask him for clarification outside class, I've learned more from the "busy-work" style homework than class time and you probably will take him as he is one of the only options if you want to take business calculus. TL:DRnotgood
He does not explain things well at all. If you're looking for an easy math class do NOT take him. Very hard to cheat as well.
Professor C is awesome. I had him recently for MAC2233. What I can honestly say is yes, there is a lot of homework and if you procrastinate, you WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO FINISH LAST MINUTE. However, his tests are based off of the review he hands out. Study the review and you will pass. I passed most of his tests and the class in general. Good prof.
He is an awesome professor! Super understandable, and really knows what he is doing.
Test are 50% of grade. Do not take this class if your not a good test taker
Lecture are not the best, he goes very fast that you will only learn during the homework. I paid a tutor and I still was unable to pass this class because test are worth 50% of the grade and I got a 70% on all and final test was just horrible. He makes the test question so difficult so don't even take this class.
Chiacchiero was such a mid teacher. Good at math, bad at teaching. There is nothing positive to say about this man. Lacks empathy and compassion which is crazy because he is a teacher. Does curve or raise grade, what you get is what you get. Does not respond to emails. He is just mid
