He's an awesome teacher that is very personable and was always doing his best to see us succeed. He can sometimes be a bit too pandering to students' wants, asking if we're okay with lectures after a test and easily giving in to us saying no and ending class there. He also flies quickly through notes not letting the info sit with us before going on

He is a good teacher but doesn't respond to emails unless you mention it to him. He normally doesn't make you stay in class the whole time and he is pretty easy if you study for the tests.

He is a great teacher. When you study for the tests, it is very possible to get an A. Didn't like that he grades attendance but despite that he is very helpful and easy going. Respects your time and supports lectures with activities and videos. I would take him again.

Enjoyed his class ! I would take him for other psychology classes. He really respects our time and is very understanding. Repeats material often, gives many examples. I like how he is close to my age so he knows how busy life outside of school is. I love the group work and am very happy there were no group projects. Best lecture yet was sexuality!

He is funny and keeps the class interesting by using group activities to break up the lectures. He is easy going and shows an interests in students' concerns.

He was straight forward and as long as you go to class and study your notes and read definitions from the chapters you will do well. I really enjoyed his class. The only thing he could do better is reply to e-mails faster. I would take him again in a heart beat.

Dr. Cohen is clearly brilliant in the field. I think he could make the class more relevant to real world things. More discussion of important life issues, especially controversial ones. A shame just to read and memorize.

He is a young brilliant man who is outgoing and interesting. Its a shame that we only covered half the course material from the book. Would take again because he is a very understanding realistic person.

It was his first semester teaching here but despite what a few people are saying about him, He is a great professor.. He is cool and he switched up his teaching styles a bit through out the semester but he always managed to keep the subject matter relatable and interesting.. Taking him again next semester :D

I enjoyed Psych 106 with this professor. I wish the class was more interactive but that has more to do with students than the teacher. If you read the chapters before you go to class, and take the notes he gives, you will pass the class. He is funny and likes to show some interesting videos. I would take another class with him.

Professor Cohen made Psych 106 really enjoyable for me. He gives straight to the point lectures with helpful power points and plenty of clarification. I am sad for this class to end as I found it super interesting but overall it was a great experience.

He's a great guy. Gives a lot of notes, but all of the stuff he tell you to write down will be on the quizzes. never gave anything unexpected and no long papers. i enjoyed class and it was very interesting. i would recommend to take his class

Professor Cohen is amazing! He's very intelligent and more than qualified for the position. He has a personality that makes coming to class exciting and his quizzes and exams are easy if you pay attention. There aren't many, and he would never ask you anything he didn't discuss. He is sweet and approachable- Do yourself a favor and take this class!

He usually lets you out early after doing a lecture. lectures are pretty clear and prepare you for the tests. Test are multiple choice and if you show up and participate you're more likely to pass. Pretty hot too

He knows how to interact well with the students and incorporate every day life into his lectures. When teaching it is not hard to lose focus, but there are many notes to pay attention to.

The information is straight to the point and everything taught will be on the quizzes. The real life examples used and videos make the lesson easier to understand!

Show up, participate and do the reading and you are good to go. My easiest class this semester! Never insists you stay the entire 3 hours.

A teacher that finally makes PSYC stats understandable

Professor Cohen makes Psych Stats bearable. His quizzes are straightforward, and come from his notes and lectures. He is more than willing to answer questions and does a quiz review on the da of the quiz. I was dreading this class, but as I said, Professor Cohen makes it bearable. He's also very easy on the eyes!

Prof. Cohen is awesome! He has a way of teaching the very difficult (and boring) subject material to students by decrypting the textbook (which can confusing at times). He is very patient and is always more than willing to help students when they Need it. Tests are difficult, so take good notes! Good luck!

Had him earlier for intro of psych and when I saw his name for 208, I didn't think twice. If you take notes and listen to his explanations, you'll do well trust me. He turns psych into a very interesting subject. His tests are easy if you study. Would take him again if I could.

Professor Cohen was definitely one of the best teachers I've had yet. He is very easy to understand. Everything is pretty much right in front of you. As long as you come to every class and do the 2 assigned papers you're going to pass without a doubt. He's also got a great sense of humor and has no problem saying how he feels. He's a great teacher!

Professor Cohen is the absolute best. I took him for PSYC 208 and PSYC 245 and made class more entertaining and easy. Would totally recommend him. Make sure to go over the material he gives you and don't be hesitant to go to his office hours for extra help cause he really can help you if you're struggling.

Average teacher and moderate class. There were 3 unit tests, 2 papers and 1 final exam. Provided powerpoints for each chapter. Read off powerpoints and occasionally told a personal story. Showed movies. Curved tests. Made attendance mandatory. Took an exceptionally long time to grade papers and tests. Did not seem invested in class and students.

He was truly my favorite Professor so far at Brookdale. I had him twice. I took lifespan and quantitative methods with him. He was such a delight. If we had questions, he wouldn't get angry that we didn't understand. He takes the time to make sure everyone understands what is going on!

He is really amazing! I wish I would have taken more of his classes. I only took the lab with him. He explained SPSS very well and he was helpful when you need help. He is young, funny, cute and very smart. I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet him before I transfer. Awesome!! Take him!!

Very easy grader and classes are usually pretty short, with lectures being quick and easy to follow with good study guides and use of canvas. Definitely a great class to take if you need the credits!

Psyc 247 is hard but this professor will make it bearable! He breaks things down in a way that makes the information easy to understand. He has a great sense of humor and never keeps you in class for the whole time. He was always available outside of class. Pay attention in class and study for the quizzes and final and you will do fine.

Two positives: hes caring and willing to help you out in tests. But I can assure you, teaching is not his strong suit. He dismisses class early and his teaching is superficial. I took PSYC247 and people were buggin cuz they thought the math was hard. Like no, its not. The math for the accuplacer is harder. If u want an EXPERIENCE, dont take it.

Im worried some of yall had a different professor lol hes really nice and his lectures are short but they work. Hes super quiz heavy but if you show up and put in a bit of effort (study) you should be fine, at least for statistical psych.

The material in PSYC-247 is difficult, but his lectures are straightforward and easy to understand. He always reviews before quizzes if students are struggling in the subject too. He truly cares about the students success. If I had to recommend one professor it would be him- dont hesitate to sign-up. Attend class, work hard, and youll be fine!

I took him over the summer in the summer two session and had a lot of outside class stressors and worked full time hours. Math is not one of my strong points but he really cares about his students and makes sure he has there best interest at hand at all times. Highly recommend taking him!

Ask anyone and they will say this class is very difficult (quantitative methods)I'm a psychology major but I cannot do math for my life. I was very nervous about taking this class but Cohen always reassured me and gave clear lectures, he makes the material seem easy and the day of quizzes he comes in an hour early for a review. I ended with a B+

He was a genuinely nice person and really cared about his students. Even when things got rough with covid, he always did his best to help us stay up to date and to make sure we did well by any means possible. He made lectures more interesting and was always there when you were confused or you had a question!

Prof Cohen is awesome! There's 3 movies you need to watch and write papers on, and 3 tests. He is a lenient grader. Keep your camera on and participate in class and he will make sure you pass! Would def take him again! Impossible to fail if you pay attention and participate.

I had this professor in another class before. This class he was way better in, but still rarely showed up. The math is heavy. I'm not a lover of math, but he shows you the criteria and explains the criteria enough for you to understand it. Easy if you study and pay attention.

Awesome professor! I was never good in math, I hardly passed in high school stats. Professor Cohen really explains the material and makes it very clear that he is always available if you need extra help. Participation does matter in his class! Going to his class was always a joy because he has a great personality; he was always making people laugh.

I am takin professor Cohen now and I am so happy I have chosen him for my psyc 247 class! He explains material very well. English is my second language, so sometimes it is hard to understand lecture; but professor Cohen teaches very well, even me with my poor language understand material. He is super teacher!!! He is the best professor ever. TAKE HIM before his seats are filled. He made work that seemed so hard be so easy. He's also just a great person and easy to talk to. His tests look scary but are easy and he gives 2-3 attempts. Any bad review of him was probably given by a student who didn't try. I use to suck at stats &I just got a 100 on the final!

Hey guys,I was afraid to take this class because of the reviews. But it was mandatory. after taking his class I would take him again. All the lectures and assignments we had done was applied to the Quizzes we had to take. He gives you the materials you need to succeed. The class I took was Psych 247 and though the info is heavy, he breaks it down.

Seems like he is going to be tough the first two weeks, as long as you show up on time and try you'll be fine. Totally worth it!

Dr. Cohen makes this class as easy as it can be. Intro to Quantitative Methods of Psych sounds hard, but he makes sure everyone understands what we're learning and he wants you to do well. Attendance matters do NOT show up late. If you have any personal issues and can't attend class don't feel hesitant to reach out, he cares about his students.

His class was my absolute favorite. I was terrified to take statistics, but Dr. Cohen made the material accessible, and he encouraged everyone to ask questions! He explained everything clearly, I wish he taught my other classes! 10/10 would recommend.

If you feel that you suck at math, take Dr. Cohen! He was incredible and I loved his teaching style! He would make sure everyone was on the same page and urged us to ask for help always. He LOVES talking so the class does kind of go almost the full amount of time. He funny, sweet, and you will get an easy A if you show up and want to learn.

Dr. Cohen is great! I took him for quantitative methods and the class may sound intimidating but he is always there to help! do not be afraid to reach out if you do not understand something, he encourages students to ask questions and even says he's "bored" when students do not ask questions. take him if you can!

He likes to get to know his students to have an understanding of where their struggles may be when it comes to class time, work and participation. Dr. Cohen is an entertaining and enthusiastic professor who's class was pretty easy and enjoyable to take. After the first two weeks, homework was pretty easy and half the time we didn't even have class. We were required to write four-page papers on two movies and had to reflect on them, which is the only major work in class besides the quizzes.

Take this class with this teacher. Do not feel intimidated if your not good at math i have always been horrible at math. I was so intimidated by this class at first looking at all the future assignments ended up with an A and finished early. Dr Cohen will reply so fast he will set up zoom calls just to help. He is one of my favorite professors.

Professor Cohen was one of the best professors I have had, he is so easy to reach by email, and responds within the same day, always! His class was online, and all of the material was given in the beginning of the course. He assigns very light work, and it doesn't consume too much time. He gives 2 chances on each test, and takes the average grade!

The longest I've stayed for class was an hour and a half. He also genuinely cares for you as a human, and will know you by name. I recommend him to everyone!

Second class taking Dr Cohen and honestly he's my favorite professor at brookdale. He really cares about his students and wants to see us succeed. I was worried about taking this but Dr Cohen explains everything so well and in a way you can understand. The workload is light. “Quiz”/Assignments weekly after classes. Incredibly easy to pass.

Having taken the class online I can say the professor is not highly tech savvy and can occasionally get stalled when dealing with online matters (ie. zoom and online programs). That said I had an amazing time in class and despite the occasional stalling due to a technology issue, every instruction given was incredibly clear.

THE BEST professor I EVER had. CARES ABOUT YOU AND YOUR GRADE!! NO textbook, he has it for free. First half of class was kind of hard but second half were labs but were easy. Cameras required but he's lenient. He curses, jokes and makes class fun!! He understands personal struggles and WILL HELP your grade only if you show effort, just ask him!!

my absolute favorite professor ever. took this class fully online & he was extremely funny, accessible, clear, helpful, caring, & overall wonderful. there's 1 hw assignment every week but it's very easy & not time-consuming, there's about 3 quizzes and the final exam that he fully prepares u for with the other assignments; def recommend, love him!!
