Great Teacher!!! Fun class, lots of discussions and group interaction. Fair in his grading of papers. Not your average "lecture type" of teacher, very free and open class.

Prone to long drawn-out tangents, but very laid back. Don't bother buying the Key Writers book because you will NEVER use it.

Awesome class. You learn a lot with Daum. Don't bother reading anything he assigns, he'll give the answers away in his long letures. But he's really a great guy w/ his students in mind. He enjoys his job and grades his students fairly, and that's all that matters right?

Took Daum for Comp1. He is such an awesome professor. Class discussions are very interesting. Only 3 easy papers for whole semester he gives you over a month to do before they are due. The last paper is with a partner. Easy to get an A in this class, overall hes a great guy. Highly recommended!!

Daum is a great professor. Only think is he doesnt have much structure in his class or essays, but if you can't leave his class with at least a B then there is something wrong with you! He is so down to earth and makes ENC1101 as easy as it can get! I am defiantly taking him for ENC1102!

His class is easy but he has spent half of the semester reading us poetry and now he has to rush us on our final two papers. They are due two weeks apart.

I am taking Daum now, and yeah we have an essay due this week and we have another one due the last day of school, about a month away and its with a partner! What more do you want! He is an awesome teacher and only requires 3 essays and his class discussions are interesting!

Excellent teacher - only a few papers to write and one is the rough draft for the next. You watch a couple movies and do class discussion. You dont even have to buy a bunch of expensive books. All his books availale online. Easy A. Knows what he is talking about.

He's a little weird but in all an easy teacher. easy grader but talks a lot. i'd tell anyone to take his class.

He was one of the best teachers I have ever had! As long as you participate in class you will get an A! He cares more about thought than grammer, and that is hard to come by! SIMPLY WONDERFUL! Pluse he is easy :)

This guy is alright. He like to lecture. There is almost no student participation. He had us watch The Search with John Wayne and we are currently watching Kwaidan about a Japanese Samurai. He is not really organized. We handed in one paper two or three weeks ago but we haven't gotten them back. My suggestion is don't take him. He is boring.

One of the best professors I've encountered so far. He makes class interesting and always engages us in heated debates. For people that had a hard time with writing, he'd let them turn in papers early so he could help. He taught us how to be better, and more convincing writers, not how to put together a sentence. I'll def. be taking him again.

Mr Daum is one of my all time favorite teachers. His lectures were very interesting and I really liked the text book he used. His classes were fun with some great debates. We only had four papers and he is a wonderful teacher. Take him.

I absolutely loved this class. I took his night class and he is the best teacher ever. He is so smart and he really knows a lot about comp. I took him for both comp I and comp II. I highly recommend him, he's real lenient with the papers you write and he doesn't have any final exams. I looooooooved his class!!! H ewas very easy. TAKE HIM

He's holds very interesting lectures. We had a total of 3 papers in the class roughly 1600 words and that was our class grade. Super good if you like to go but not get super involved. He's really down to earth and offers help if you need it!

I took Daum for Comp I as well as Comp II. Great teacher, deff recommend him. He made a new policy. If you are in class when he calls roll you get 10 xta pts added into your average every time. Funny and good sense of humor!

Mr.Daum is a very easy going professor! His class work is very minimal but explains throughly the "expectations" on the papers! Definetly recommend this professor.

If you want an easy A then take him but if you want to actually learn something and be prepared for your future classes, then do not take his class. He doesn't return your essay papers and he gives even pretty much the same grade.....88%

Lectures are very helpful, very insightful. He reviews what you need to know before each essay, and provides a lot of helpful hints. He is easy-going, but you still have to meet his expectations. Recommended, definitely!

Research papers weren't my strong point, but Daum helped a lot through thorough explanations in his lectures. Provided in-depth descriptions of the essays beforehand and a lot of class participation in order to share ideas and inspire motivation.

i only had mr daum for a few weeks after my teacher left, but he was really funny and nice. he was really helpful explaining things and was a really lenient grader. he kept my old teachers same grading system and rules, which kept me from having to take the final. i would take him again if i need more enc classes. hes a cool guy.

I love Prof. Daum!!!!!!! He is down right amazin'!! If I could I would take all my classes with him! He is just that amazin'! He is fun and always entertainin'. He is laid back and doesn't bore you to death like most prof do! I LOVE LOVE LOVE going to his class!!

EASY A! his lectures are a little boring and a little out there, but you learn alot and theres not much work required, would DEFINALTY recommend him!

I have not completed his class yet still attending but if anyone has to take ENC 1102, I strongly recommend Mr. M. Daum. He makes the class intresting and learning an activity. This professor was AMAZING! He is so laid back and just an overall cool, funny guy. He is very easy to get along with and whenever I needed help in class he was willing to help. We wrote four essays for the entire class, which I got A's on every one, and that was literally it. Definitely would recommend him

Took Daum for Comp 1 and LOVED him. I am already registered to take him for Comp 2. He is very laid back and easy going, he uses humor in his lectures to help you remember things, and he is extremely helpful. He gives you many ideas and makes it almost impossible to bomb a paper. By far the best teacher I've come to know.

I was disappointed at first, as there was no real "teaching" done in this course, but I realized by the end that the things he required of us (daily journaling, outlines, rough drafts) were all part of his master plan to open our minds to their potential creativity. In the end, it turned out to be one of my fave classes. Daum gives GREAT feedback!

One of the best teachers I have Ever had. I took comp1 w/him but it felt more like a philosophy class due to the nature of our in-class discussions. Lecture-based class but he always makes the subject matter personally relevant &brings it back to things we experience and talk about in our daily lives, so it makes you Want to come to class and get engaged. Only 3 papers the whole term and he gives us plenty of time for each one so that we can do well on them. Extraordinary teacher.take him!!! ?

This class was great! I'm taking him again. The conversations in class are very stimulating. Reading what he assigns in class wasn't helpful at all to the papers I wrote. received an A for all my papers. Very happy with this class.

Professor Daum is an interesting man. He is awesome to talk to, but I will admit you are left felling like you are more in a philosophy class rather a Composition 12 class. 4 total essays. You have this book that is insufferable and nauseating. Quizzes are easy reading the book is almost more of a suggestion. Overall easy but efficient professor.

great teacher! don't really need the book to do any of the assignments. the quizzes are basically show up and you get full credit and then 4 1000 word essays were the whole class. I am going to take him again, very interesting.

Lectures are always interesting and philosophical. The book wasn't really needed for anything much. Quizzes were really easy basically to check if you were on track with the essays. Great professor, and I'm going to take him again next semester.

Great professor! He is very clear in what he wants and expects from his students. He is fair and funny. You is an easy fair grader. You must go to the classes for the quizzes. There are 10 quizzes and you don't know when he is giving them. All quizzes are an easy A. 4 essay- super easy! As long you try and show up to class it is an easy A.

Daum was literally one of the best professors I've ever taken. Easy A as long as you listen and do the work. Very helpful, funny, and makes class fun. Really cares about students as well. Comp2 is going to be a class that I will never forget. :-) Take him, you won't regret it!!!

So glad this class isn't like a repeat of ENC 1101. His course enhances your writing and stimulates your inner writer's abilities. sounds very philosophical but it really opens your eyes to literature. His class may bring you slightly out of your comfort zone but I Highly Recommend Professor Daum! Book is required, you do need it.

Professor Daum is a really nice guy. Class is straight forward and easy if you do the work. But the classroom and chairs were horrible! Give this man a better room! He Deserves it!

Prf. Daum is hilarious; he is really funny and his lectures are amazing. He has very clear grading criteria and he is an easy grader as well. I would definitely suggest taking him for comp 1 or comp 2.

Daum is a wonderful professor. I enjoyed taking him for comp 1 and comp 2. No body wants to take composition and he understands that. There's quizzes and 3 essays. You'll want to go to class because his lectures are interesting and plays some out of the box movies. Do yourself the favor.

You don't really need to show up to class, but I liked to just because he gives good lectures. Only gave us three essays to do this whole semester and they were fairly easy. He's a pretty chill guy

Chill guy, sometimes interesting, super easy A. Just do what he asks and you'll get an A. Sometimes, the lectures can be a bit long and boring, but they can also be funny and interesting. Comp 1 was better in my opinion than comp 2 maybe b/c of the kids in my class but who knows.

Great Professor he takes the stress off and you can really enjoy his class. If you have a tough schedule take him to balance it. Show up and do your work and you will get a great experience and learn a lot with out stressing out all semester.

Daum is entertaining and makes the class worth being there. Can sometimes be long winded, but he gets great banter going with the students who participate. He's willing to go over anything you disagree with after its graded. I went to him the semester after and asked him to review a higher level paper i was writing and he was so helpful and did it!

Daum is a really weird guy, but a super professor. Anyone who can make Aristotle interesting is great at their job. There were only 5 papers (around 3 pages/900-1000 words) and around 3 quizzes all semester. He makes it clear what he wants from your assignments and takes questions. He gives brief personal consultations for personal instruction.

Great Professor, I am happy I chose him and I would take him again! He made class not so "serious" and made everyone laugh. No exams, just 3 argumentative papers (900 words), a research paper (1000 words) and an annotated bibliography. Very helpful if you have any questions. I highly recommend!

Took Daum for comp 1. It's a really excellent class if you're just getting back into the swing of college. He starts you off nice and easy and slowly tightens up his grading criteria. You use the book a bit, so yeah you need to get it, but just do the papers and you'll pass. For comp 1 he did not even have a final exam.

I took Professor Daum for comp 2 and I couldn't be happier with my choice. He is very laid back and always gives good feedback. To top that off, he is the FUNNIEST professor I've ever had! He gives us many opportunities to succeed in his class so if you fail, you didn't even care. I highly recommend him because of how enjoyable he makes comp.

Jeff was the best teacher I've had so far. Really teaches at a college level and makes you use your brain. he gives great feedback and is always available if you need help. his lectures are the best part of the class I could listen to this guy talk all day. Highly recommend you take him. show up and do the work. You will pass.

Mr. Daum is a cool laidback teacher. You learn a lot of things with him and are able to think of a lot of different new ideas. He is pretty open with essays topics and is not too hard of a grader. He uses the textbook and class discussions are very interesting.

Prof. Daum is a great teacher. He inspires students to think outside the norm and to look within. His lectures are entertaining and intellectual. Attendance isn't really mandatory, but if you miss a pop quiz (not what you might think) you'll lose points. I advise everyone whose taking Comp to select Prof. Daum, you'll love his class.

He only required 3 essays the whole semester. He mostly talks about philosophical stuff during the lectures. He is pretty easy going, but likes feedback during lectures, and will occasionally ask a question that he wants an answer from every student. His class is very easy and no textbooks were used.

Mr. Daum is a true gem. He's the type of professor that makes you love whats he's teaching. I strongly suggest you to take his class! He's a true inspiration.

I took Comp II with Jeff in class. All you have to do is 4 essays and a research paper. Easy class, funny professor, good grader. I would like to take him for every classes.

daum was awesome. you only have to write three papers and he gives great feedback. he doesnt do peer review so if you dont like that then i suggest you take him. you dont have to go to class . the only times you should be there is on conference days, when discussing your topic for your essay and turning in your essays (paper copy).

Professor Daum is one of the best Professors I have ever had and one of the best at SPC!, I doubt I will come across a better professor than him. Most might like him for his easy class structure that us pretty straight forward. He is EXTREMELY intelligent, and well respected.

I just took professor Daum for a film class and he blew my mind! He expanded my knowledge of film greatly. Daum Is the man 100% take him without hesitation he is one of the best professors at SPC!!! Daum If you read this thanks for helping the bearded guy that sat in the back of class open up to the extensive world of film.

If you're looking for an easy A this is the class. He talks a lot but it was worth listening to for the grade that most people got. All you have to do is show up and write the three essays throughout the semester. That's it. He cares about his students and wants you to succeed.

Funny guy first off. Literally just show up to class and you'll get an A. He knows the class is just a check the box type class so he'll challenge you on your papers and make you think but by far the easiest writing class I've ever had. Wish I would've known about him for Comp I. Definitely take him if you don't skip class.

glad I took this class with Daum as a freshman. This class was SO easy. The only thing is that Daum can talk a lot! I wanted to sleep in class. But he is hilarious and genuinely wants you to gain information from this comp. class so you can apply it to other classes you're taking. Definitely take mr Daum for composition!!! You won't regret it.

I drop comp 2 a year ago but this professor made it easy this time all I did was write 4 papers went for conference and tutoring. If don't pass his class then something is wrong with you.

My semester with Professor Daum was nothing short of a gift. I felt challenged to do my best work and think deeply about my passions and even my existential questions. This was exactly the kind of experience and growth I dreamed of getting when I signed up for college. He gets his students' best work by making them believe in their capabilities.

He seems pretentious at first but is actually a really nice guy. It is very easy to get an A in his class because for every paper you write, 150 out of 250 points come from just writing drafts of your paper. He also is very helpful in discussing ideas for papers with you, but he might make the whole class discuss your thesis from time to time.

What can I say?!?! Professor Daum is awesome! The material he has you read seems dumb at first, but he really gets you thinking. He makes writing easy and fun. The assignments set you up to make writing your essay's painless. I would take Professor Daum again without a doubt!

Professor Daum is one of the best professors at SPC. I'll be honest, I didn't like him at first because he is not structure heavy. So if you're someone who loves a rubric, it'll take some time to adjust. But, he cares and he's there to help you. He challenges every student in just the right way, and I can say he's made me a better writer.

Professor Daum deserves every amazing review that is written. The things he talks about during class is fascinating and entertaining. He guides you very smoothly through each essay you have to write. He wants you to achieve. He is better than most high school teachers.

He might call you out in class to talk about your papers but other than that I can't really complain. Only 4 long essays to write throughout the semester, and he'd let us out early a lot. Considering we had to go into quarantine the 2nd half of the semester, Professor Daum was super thoughtful and understanding. Try and you'll get an A!

This has been the best class I have ever taken!!! Comp has always been my weakest class but this teacher is different. As long as you try your best you will pass. Not many assignments and there are no wrong answers. I wish I had this Professor for all my class :-)

Genuinely one of the best professors and best people I've ever met. Class is super easy, as long as you try you get a good grade... I took ENC1101H and ENC1102H with him and they were some of the most fun classes I've ever had. Good class for people who don't really need to take comp, and already know how to write decently.

Professor Daum was an absolute delight to take for Comp I. While there weren't rubrics, his expectations of your work were outlined extensively during lectures and recordings were always available for review. On top of that, he was always accessible outside of class and was always helpful in talking essay ideas off of. All in all, a real gem!

Professor Daum is really good. A little tough for a class because he doesnt give a rubric or structure but he helps you with that in the zoom meetings. His essays are argumentative and 1300 words as a requirement. He is a funny guy. However he does make you think for the thesis and your topic. And your rough draft there is a tutor who checks it.

Daum is an amazing person and has a very philosophical way of looking at things. The only downside is he does not provide rubrics to follow when writing essays. There are 2 essays and 1 research paper, all at least 1300 words. Your rough draft is reviewed and given feedback by professional SPC tutors and Daum is always available for help via email.

I really enjoyed professor Daum! I would recommend going to class, however, he did put the lectures linked to the course website. There are only 3 papers in this whole class! You want to make sure to manage your time well because you have to have a rough draft before you turn in your actual paper ( 1,300 words each). 2 MLA & 1 (APA) research paper.

Professor Daum is THE BEST. He is very understanding in any situation you may be having. He is thorough and will guide you in the right direction if you ask. I would take him agian for sure!

As I rated Prof. Daum on St. Pete College, he could not make this class easier if he had superpowers. In this class, so long as you pay attention to your expectations and tune in to his lectures (I even skimmed through them), you will easily pass this class. I was so excited to grade this professor that I just clicked 5 on each of the two ratings, even though the course was mega easy. This is my actual rating on the difficulty of the class. Trust me, almost no effort went into my A in this class. It was mega easy.

Professor Daum was amazing, entertaining, intelligent and enthusiastic. I learned a lot from this class, more so than others. This class helped me improve my creative thinking and APA formatting. He gave amble time for assignments to be completed. Would highly recommend.

Prof. Daum is one of my favorite professors at SPC. The class was fairly easy and allowed you a lot of time and opportunity to complete the required assignments. As long as you get in the major assignments that account for most of your grade, you're easily receiving an A, along with good feedback on how well you did. Overall, an amazing person!

I loved professor Daum. He graded fairly based off of the skills he sees from your first assignment. There's 3 papers under 1300 words including two argumentative and one research. His expectations are not clear but his tactic to it is used to help us learn. This class with help you gain not only an A but some confidence and therapy as well.

Great professor, very funny and sarcastic too. His readings are BORING. He said he changes the readings per semester tough so good luck. Aside from that, the class was awesome.

Professor Daum is AWESOME! The reading material was interesting and as he says repeatedly, take advantage of the tutoring sessions!! Professor Daum, was an amazing professor he is chill, respectful and there for his students he will give you his office hours everyday if you need any help or to ask questions. it helps a lot trust me. But be aware there is a lot of typing and reading. But other than that he is there all the time and also watch his lectures videos that also helps.

Daum is a great professor. His assignments are simple and forward, nothing to hard. When it comes to feedback he's good at letting you know what needs to be fixed or if you're struggling on where to start, He's good at helping point you in the right direction. Literally one of the best professors I've taken so far. Lectures are entertaining and informative. I took this class online and he recorded and posts the class video so if I missed a day I didn't lose any information. The read was a bit hard as it was a group of greek tragedies but other than that he is a wonderful professor to have!

Probably one of the nicest and funniest professor you can find. Class was not hard at all. Gives enough time to complete assignments. Only have to write 3 Essays and do 7 exercises in between that are really short and easy to do. You will have an A as long as you put in effort in your writing.

Prof. Daum is amazing so far! he's really nice and I enjoy his lectures. for this class, we have 2 big papers due and that is pretty much all besides a few discussions that only need a few sentences. he cares about his students and tries to challenge you but also understands that his contents are challenging so he is pretty forgiving. 10/10 prof

Professor explains the paper format in couple minutes and then rest of the time its just deep thought process. Professor explains like how the papers should come out, what other students wrote in the past, how professor expects the paper to be. Professor is very chill and funny.

Professor Daum is an all around great teacher. His in person classes are mainly lectures on topics of his choosing but he will address any concerns you have regarding the current assignment being worked on. 10/10 would take again.

Very lenient and accepts late work. Took during the summer term and he kept us busy with papers but graded kindly.

All I can say is how awesome Mr. Daum was. Extremely entertaining, with a lot of enthusiasm to keep your interest. I'm not someone that can usually stay focused long enough to listen to lectures, but I enjoyed listening to Professor Daum's lectures. I would definitely take their class again.

Professor Daum is one of the best professors i've ever had, especially for an online class. His video lectures are actually interesting and funny. The entire course is only 3 essays and 1 research paper, no quizzes, tests, or final exam. He gives amazing feedback and responds to emails quick. Definitely choose him for Comp 2.

This is the BEST professor I have ever had. I took his online class. The course can be a little challenging, but if you really put in the time and effort, it's an easy A. His video lectures were entertaining, funny and informative. Professor Daum responds to any questions very quickly and is really good with feedback. I would definitely recommend!!
