I am taking American History II with him this semster and I think he is better than my last teacher. But he may not be here next year.
He's a great teacher. Actually wants you to enjoy what you are learning. He actually gave us exactly what would be on our midterm. Only problem....he's never on time. Comes in late most days.
He is an amazing teacher. I was drawn into what he would talk about and made history fun to learn. He is easy to talk with and is very open to what that students may think and tries to see everything from everyones point of views. He is sometimes late but we all do it. doesnt mind when you leave
Hes gonna be teaching next semester!Nice guy, late some, easy class, not alot of work, tells u what is on the tests, wont assign work if he doesnt have time to do it too! Highly recomend this class...go to class when he has it...easy A! Caring prof, knowledgable, funny..take this class!
his tests are easy, his papers are easy. his quizes are hard, and he teaches you absolutely nothing. if you just are taking the class as a gen ed take him. if you want to learn history dont!
he shows up late a lot, and has not been a very good teacher.
Hes awesome! Hes really understanding, probably because hes young. He dosnt make you stressed at all. Sometimes late but who cares! Take Him!
this class is so cool! deliz is awesome! take his class it's totally worth it
He's a nice guy, but not a very good history teacher. He tends to ramble on about Europe, so that it's hard to take notes and if you do find something to write down-it won't end up mattering. He'll cancel quizzes if you claim to be unprepared-nice if you're not, but a pain if you actually did study.
quizzes are hard
good teacher,made material interesting
Great Teacher, easy a as long as u do what u are told
Cool guy, good teacher. Go to class, do your work, get an A.
Mr. Deliz is a very good teacher, he takes a lot of time outside of class with his students. But he expects a lot of the students. His quizzes are hard but they are completely based on the reading, so read carefully. If you don't read you'll fail.
AWESOME teacher!!! his quizes are fair and so are his test. he makes history very interesting and allows the students to see another side of history that regular text books dont show. Nice guy and is willing to help out if you go up and talk to him. Take his Class!!! You wont regret it
Awesome guy, I have never enjoyed a history lesson until this semester. Take Mr. Deliz, you wont regret it.
Deliz isn't a hard teacher @ all. As long as u take notes in class, u'll b fine. Whatever he writes on the board write it down. He's gives a test review in advance, if u don;t know something, it's in the book & he'll b more than willing 2 go over it. U need 2 go 2 class 2 get an A.
AWESOME TEACHER! Very helpful and shows a different side to history. Anyone that says this guy cant teach is full of it. Just make sure to read the book and take notes and you will defidently get an A. I had him for 2010 and liked him so much that I took his class again for 2020.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. The bottom line is if he is teaching ANYTHING I need, I'll take it with him. Simply learn the list in 2 hours, and you'll ace the tests. The course books are good, and this class is the first in which I've been introduced to a different perspective to history. My favorite class.
Delis is the easiest teacher I've ever had.. in any class for any subject in any grade. I hate history and I got a 98% in class, and by the way I went to class like twice a month. Really cool dude also.. sometimes he just misses class cause he sleeps in or sumtin. Take him for as many classes as you can no matter what he's teaching.
Great class, take him he is great!
Deliz is awesome; he wants everyone to do well so he'll help a lot! Just read and take notes
Take any class that DELIZ is teaching. Although at tiimes the class is boring , he manages to make it interesting and occasionally anusing. Its easy to get an "A". One of the easiest professors ever! Take him he's great!!!
he is a great teacher! he really makes you think, which keeps it interesting. very interactive and laid back with the class. i learned a lot and i thought all the tests and grading was very fair. i deffinately recommend taking his class.
i LOVED this class!! I learned a lot in this class and he's very helpful!
Great professor. Classes can be long but he really knows what he is talking about and makes the class interesting. Definitely recommend this professor.
he is a very nice professor!! the exams are easy he tells you everything you have to know on the exams. Study for the exams and you should be fine. The final exam is a pass or fail!! If you fail the final you would fail the class.
Mr. Deliz is an awesome teacher. he actually explains history in a way you can understand, and isn't too serious - always has time for funny stories and laughs. great personality, great teacher -- really going to miss him, but NOTHING can make me take another history class...not even you Deliz! :)
I really enjoyed his class. He made history interesting and didn't teach it from the "America is the greatest" point of view like in most high schools. Just go to class and you will at least make a B.
I can't believe prof. deliz would get any negative reviews. I took him about a year ago and I passed easily. He gives you the questions for the 2 tests in advance. It is impossible to fail this man's class.
Mr. Deliz was an AWESOME teacher! I am really happy I took his class..the last history class I took I got a C and I got and A in his. He actually teaches you a lot! I was so bad at history before and I hated it...now when someone asks me a question about history I know the answer! He tells you everything you need to know for the tests and if you g
Mr. Deliz is a nice guy. But you HAVE to go to class in order to do good on the tests. And the tests are not easy. I passed with a B, I'm sure anyone could do the same.
Very Easy. If you go to class it is really easy to get an A. Theres 3 tests.. i got 100's on the first 2 no problem and i dont know what i got on the third yet but im sure it was an A. Take him!
I failed 2 history classes before I took him (history has always been my worst subject) and I passed his class with an A. He's pretty easy, but he still teaches you a lot. I never could answer any questions about history, but after his class I had an hour discussion with a history buff, and even knew some stuff they didnt. Take if you hate history!
3 exams, all questions open answer or essay. outstanding teaching methods though. He brilliantly connects all the central themes and important eras together.got an A, Would take him for every class.
Great guy and great teacher. He really takes an interest and wants you to learn. He knows what he is talking about, which is always helpful in a teacher. He is a bit obvious about his political views, which was my only problem in his class, but he always let me speak my mind as well. Test are no problem, just go to class and listen!
Very boring instructor, dry... You have to read the book because he tests off of it... Hes helpful, and a nice guy, but teaches by lecture.
Well...his class was easy, the only thing is that he is verrrrrry biased when it comes to present day politics, which he somehow links to history up to the Civil War, don't ask. If you are into politics and happen to be a democrat, very easy class....if not, I would advise not talking in class!!
not your typical history class... i actually learned a lot!
love him. i have taken him for both of my history classes. he loves history and it shows, his classes are all lecture but somehow he keeps you interested in it, and i dont even like history. i wish i had another history class to take!
He contradicts himself a lot and promises to give you your grades back, but takes a REALLY long time to do so. I wrote one paper for him over a month and a half ago and he still hasn't returned it. Overall it is okay, but if there is a more prompt professor, I recommend taking them instead.
I took Deliz for both 2010 & 2020, and would take him again in a heartbeat! He is EXTREMELY helpful, really enjoys teaching, and cares about his students. His tests aren't bad if you read and attend class REGULARLY, but reading the text is a MUST. Reviewing lecture notes before the exams will help immensely! DELIZ IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! :)
I took Deliz for both 2010 & 2020 and would definetly take him again without second guessing myself. He is very helpful and willing to work with you, keeps the class engaged, and really knows his material. Take the most important info from his lectures and study a little before each test and I can almost guarantee atleast a B.
Great Teacher, lectures are very clear and keeps you interested.
horrible at getting grades back...
He is great. very passionate about history- helps a lot. His tests are essay with some short answer (except one that is MC), but as long as you have a decent grasp on the material, you shouldn't get below a B. he is very understanding and easy-going when it comes to quizzes (he cancelled 2 already). his class is very entertaining! read/take notes.
He is a nice guy. His quizzes/exams are all short answer and essays.I did not like how he taught and how he was always late to class and held us after. He is very boring and always gets off topic. I would not recommend taking him.
Do not take him! He has no organization and takes forever to give back grades. He assigned a paper then took 6 weeks to give it back. He also couldn't decide whether to use the book or not. And sometimes it seemed like he decided they day of a quiz how he was going to give it. Also he was 15 minutes late for the final exam.
He was the most unorganized teacher ever. He was nice but wow. I have no idea what my grade is in this class and we just took the final. He showed up 15 minutes late. We had quizzes for the past 2 weeks because he never gave us them during the year. He even said he didnt feel like making them. Find a new teacher
He showed up to class late every day. He never followed the syllabus. He changed every test format. Nothing was explained. He never put grades up. He was also never at his office hours. He could never remember what he taught so the test would be on whatever he felt like putting on it that day.
Has no structural outline for his class. Gave a syllabus at the beginning of the semester & said to buy textbook. After the 2nd test decided that he didn't like the book so we weren't going to use it. Completely strays from syllabus. Takes FOREVER to grade tests. Spent every Friday bashing Palin. Most of lectures weren't relevant to World History.
Really good professor. Knows his stuff. Tests are average, if you pay attention and read you will be fine. His extra credit is usually something crazy, but if you don't understand anything let him know and he will break it down in the most basic way possible.
Has no organization skills and gives ridiculous assignments whenever he feels like. He's a nice guy and knows his stuff, but doesn't know what he's doing when it comes to being a teacher. Assigned 4 page essays when he forgot to make quizzes and then we never got the grade back for one because he probably lost it.
I liked him. Taking his class was like taking History with Political science and Philosophy all at once. We had good discussions in class. He doesn't use power point. He lectures straight from his head, no one else does that. I'm glad I got into his class next semester. He is a bit disorganized. Has more office hours than anyone. Hes always there.
seems nice at first but dont be fooled. his tests have nothing to do with actual history, just a bunch of random unnecessary facts. Does not prepare students well for his tests or quizes. frustrating!
very unorganized, lectures straight from head, and mildy humorous. But absolutely awesome. Ive already got him down for next semster. He's really smart and the stuff he teaches is really enlightening. Its not an easy A at all, you really have to read the book and pay attention in class. But anybody interested in history should definitely take it.
Great professor, some students are real babies. He lectures and you read the assigned chapter, that's it, come to class and do the reading, you get an A.
Cool dude. Our tests and quizes were based mostly off the book. Kind of unorganized, but if you read the book and attend class, you can get an A. Said the Final is optional but didn't tell us that at the beginning of the year. Just read and go to class...not hard..I would recommend him.
Abs. awesome professor. Attend class, read the book, and put in a lil bit of effort and you'll easily make an A. As long as he sees you're making an effort, it'll def. pay off in the end. :)
Very cool young and down to earth professor. 4 quizzes, 2 test, some extra credit...easy class. The only thing i can say that i found really disappointing was the fact that all the test and quizzes were COMPLETELY out of the book, making going and paying attention to every single lecture utterly pointless.
hes a real funny and nice guy. but we RARELY got out of class early and his tests are very hard. the questions are all from the book and are very detailed. cool guy but your gunna read alot
This class is anything but easy.he is very disorganize when it comes to his lectures and he lectures straight off the top of his head.no power point, no notes, NOTHING! His tests are very detailed and he ask specific questions out of the book you have to read the textbook to pass his class he is helpful tho and gives extra credit expect to work har
Good professor, very very knowledgeable. He teaches from his head, and his accuracy is perfect. A little disorganized when it comes to grading, but not horrible. Tests are easy if you study, no curve balls. Quizzes and HW are there to boost your grade. He is helpful in and out of office.
Best professor I've had this year. Don't know why some say he's disorganized. He seemed pretty on top of it all. I'm a Senior and I think I learned more in his class than any other. Take him if you want to learn something.
He makes you think. Tests and quizzes are never the same twice. The class is intriguing and he is really helpful if you go to his office hours.
Deliz is a great teacher if you really want to learn about World Civilizations. His Quizes are very hard, he makes them extremeley specific to the book, and his tests cover a LOT of material. However, I really enjoy this class, I've learned a lot and he himself is a very nice guy, no one in my class seems to dislike him.
Lectures come from his head. Quizzes come directly from book, read the chapter carefully. Tests come from book and lectures. He will let you know what chapters are going to be in them. Gives many extra credits that go directly to your overall grade. One core paper due at end of semester, easy if you follow his directions. Easy A class. TAKE HIM!
nice guy but extremely disorganized and alwaysssss late. he took forever to grade. didn't follow syllabus and changed things last minute. very unorganized. tests are straight from book
He's interested in his students, his class, and his subject. He's good at teaching and will probably get you interested too. My biggest problem was with his quizzes though, he asks irrelevant questions or one's so minor that they were barely mentioned at all. For example, Who was the wife of a certain Egyptian Pharaoh?
Mr. Deliz has a knowledge of the subject beyond that of other professors I have had. Never taking one opinion over another, Modern history is discussed without Pro-U.S. bias. I would recommend MWF classes to spread out his lectures because different yet correlating information helps loads on the exams. Overall good class.
this man knows world history inside and out. His lectures are free of pro US bias and bias in general. you feel like you understand human nature and the the world far more after taking his class. There is no text book used, he'll give out reading material that gets incorporated into his lectures. He's kinda funny, and usually a bit late to class.
Overall, I was pretty satisfied with Mr. Deliz. He does not expect anything of you, he just teaches and grades. If you go to lectures, take notes, ASK QUESTIONS, and keep up with assigned reading. I got lucky and took him during the summer when a textbook wasn't required. Whatever he talks about in class is what the tests and essays are about.
He knows a lot about history however he is a little unorganized. his lectures are really interesting and you will definitely learn a lot! if you take good notes you'll do fine and he's a really easy grader. he's also very helpful but will return your grades after like a month. overall it was an interesting class
terrible! term paper for the class is heavily weighted with a bland explanation of what is expected by him. didnt have them graded on the last day of finals, as promised. shows up late to class consistently, including 30 minutes late on the day of the final. class not hard, but deliz is awful and avoid at all costs.
Deliz is okay but shows up late for class a lot of the time. Attendance is not mandatory but if you want to pass you better come to class. Textbook is no help because all his test questions are from his lectures. Cracks jokes a lot and is kind of entertaining. Many times unclear about hat he wants but is a lenient grader.
Here's a rundown. Attendance not mandatory, but 75% of test comes from lecture notes. You have 3 tests (normal test, essay test, final), 1 research paper, and about 5 quizzes. At first everything will seem hard, but he curves all grades by a lot, so it saves you in the end. He takes forever to give back grades. Used the book 2 times. Got an A...
Try to find the book to rent, because his lectures don't get a whole lot of solid information out. He rambles but it isn't very good for note-taking. The quizzes are easy, but the term paper isn't explained well and feels like a waste of time. Not terrible, but try to get a different teacher for western civ if you can.
This semester he was a bit disorganized - never gave quizzes out and never graded anything on time. The most annoying part was not really knowing my grade until the very end, and the 8 page paper wasnt awesome either. He takes attendance but just to see if youve shown up when you come to beg for a better grade later. Pointless class, easy A.
Deliz is a fantastic teacher! I absolutely loved his class and I am taking him again next year. His lectures are incredible, fascinating and I honestly never wanted to miss class because I was excited to learn whatever was up next. He's also really funny and such a kind person. 10/10 highly recommend.
Deliz is a really nice and cool professor, but there are definitely some things that he should work on, like posting grades and assignments to WebCourses. He literally posted one grade on WebCourses all semester, so you won't know what your grade is. Other than the bad transparency and communication, he's a good professor.
Deliz is very good at lecturing and keeps you interested even. Very enjoyable class if you're even slightly interested in history. Only problem is I saw no grades besides my midterm all semester until the last week, but this was bearable because he makes it very clear on how to get a good grade. Low stress class overall, and Mr. Deliz is great.
Lots of reading. Deliz is a great teacher, but I never received any grades throughout the entire semester. I only received my final grade when they were posted by the university. He's pretty disorganized, never remembered to post articles and instructions (like for the presentation and final paper) as promised even when reminded constantly.
Not very organized in the structure of his class. Doesn't grade almost anything until basically the end of the semester. He's a great lecturer and keeps it interesting. Easy quizzes if you actually do the reading. Gets off track a decent amount of the time. Overall an easy class but be prepared to ask questions.
Prof. Deliz was definately an interesting professor. He's a cool guy, with very interesting lectures. He however does not post grades online. I took 12 quizzes, a midterm and a final in his class. Out of all of those, Quiz #3, Quiz #4, and the midterm has been graded. There are no multiple choice questions, and there is a term paper.
Overall, Professor Deliz is a really good teacher. He gives very lengthy lectures, so be prepared to take lots of notes in class. In addition, there are 12 quizzes throughout the semester, a midterm, a final, and a research paper. Be wary if choosing this class as he doesn't grade very fast and you really don't know how you are doing in class.
A great guy, very understanding, and very down to earth. Was understanding of attendance issues and always willing to help anyone who needed it, even with a busy schedule. Great guy, and wouldn't want any other professor for my last class of college. Also I had him for HIS4150, the class wasn't an option in the selection field.
Literally he sucks at grading things and explaining what he wants from his students. He suggested buying the textbook if you think you won't be in class a lot even though that's useless because he ditches his schedule so you're better off making a friend for notes when you're absent.
Lectures were taught well and final is super easy if you take basic notes. Everything is graded generously. Easily my favorite class of the semester.
Easy class, but super unorganized. Doesn't follow syllabus. Takes forever to grade, will grade up till semester deadline. Had a medical excuse for the midterm but he wouldn't let me take it till after the final so I was pissed. He only gives two tests (midterm and final) so hard to gauge style. Overall neutral, there's better and worse professors.
I really wanted to enjoy this class but not possible. An hour class is going to be difficult to sit through but this class had no order, no direction, and nothing to go by. It was not a hard class material and homework wise but there are so few assignments that one mess up and ruins your grade. NOTHING graded/assigned on time. Much better classes.
He was an ok professor but very unorganized. Nothing was graded until the last week, so you don't know what your grade is. If you mess up one test you will not get a good grade. Overall, would never take again.
Amazing Lectures! Takes attendance every once in awhile, and have weekly quizzes (10). He does grade very late so take that in count, and takes forever to respond to emails. 1 midterm online and final is in person. 1 analysis paper due at the end of semester. Class was very straightforward and enjoyable ! he made me like history
Great teacher, very lenient when it comes to grading (completely missed the midterm cause it was halloweekend and he took my final grade (which was a 86) and made that the midterm grade). Very little things to grade, however he takes a while to grade them. Kinda hard to get a hold of but overall he is a great teacher.
It is currently one day after the last day of finals and I only have 1 inputted grade into the class and quite frankly, I don't care. His lectures were so well taught, and he is extremely smart in the field of history, the assignments for the whole year are straightforward but I recommend attending class if you want an easy A. Awesome guy who cares
Lectures are very interesting and in depth. Professor is well educated and informative when asked questions. Attendance is not mandatory, however, he still keeps track of it for extra credit purposes and to pass this class you MUST show up. Midterm and final are both fill in the blank and there is a 7 page paper at the end of class that can be hard
Professor Deliz's class was overall a very enjoyable experience. Coming from somebody who doesn't care much for history, his lectures were filled with knowledge and easy to digest. His class is graded mainly through quizzes every couple of weeks on the material covered in his lectures. There is one research paper at the end of the course.
You have to go to the lectures other wise you will be lost since he covers a lot of info in 1 class and doesn't provide notes or anything online, but if you like history it will be easy. He didn't put in grades till the last day of the semester. 1 big project due at the end (start early), 6 quizzes throughout and they're easy if you study.
Great prof. with clear teachings. No power points and attendance was important to learning what he wanted for quizzes/exams. Funny, Fair, and Understanding guy. Tests/quizzes are all free response however very easy if you attend class.
I really enjoyed Professor Deliz's lectures. I am not much of a history person, but he made the content interesting to learn. The course was graded on quizzes, your midterm, final, and your final paper. As long as you put effort into the class you will get a good grade!
Prof. Deliz is great overall. What made it hard for me was that he didn't read off of a presentation for his lectures, so be ready to write fast. If you go to class, you'll be prepared for tests. Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory, but if you're in between grades at the end of the sem, he'll round up based on your attendance. He grades slowly!
He is a really nice person but probably one of the worst professors I've ever had. His class isn't hard material wise, but it has no structure whatsoever. He just shows up to class and talks a lot, often going off topic. The quizzes aren't based on things talked about in class. He also takes a long time to grade stuff.
Excellent explanations. The professor is very open to explaining topics after class. Cares about your real understanding and comprehension of the subject rather than just memorizing dates.
Biggest thing is that lectures are all from his head, no PowerPoint, at all. Also very few grades, just 5 quizzes, 2 tests, a paper and the final. Lectures can get a little boring but aren't so bad because it was only 50 mins. Took forever to grade things, but has a ton of students. Not the greatest professor in the world but not the worst.
Professor Deliz was overall a great professor. He does to a while to grade and, he does not lecture off powerpoint but instead jumps onto different websites for his lectures. He also does not do multiple choice so be prepared to write / type all the answers to tests and quizzes.
Professor Deliz is great guy who cares the subject. The biggest problem with this class is that his lectures hold no substance and are completely useless for the test. I stopped attending his class half way through and just used his study guides for the tests. If you want an easy A you got it, but you will not learn anything from attending.
He clearly cares and wants his students to do well, but I struggled with his teaching style. No visual aids, just lecture. I made the mistake of taking it at 9am, and it was so hard to stay awake, and if you miss the lecture? Well... good luck. Tests stressed me out so much, only had maybe 30% of whats on the study guide. great office hours though
He is the man
Lecture attendance is not mandatory but none of what is said in lecture is posted online so to do well on tests you kinda need to go. 10 quizzes, 3 tests, 1 8-page paper - all written out questions, no multiple choice. He will give you points back if you explain something to him after the test and is looking to give you points.
only homework throughout the semester is 6 quizzes, study for 3 exams, and write a paper at end of the semester. exams were very easy if you go to lectures and review the study guide since exams r solely based off lectures. class was boring and he just talks the whole time but all the information is straightforward and clear. lectures not online.
I fully recommend Prof Deliz. He rambles a bit in his lectures but he gives you EVERYTHING you need in the exams. He reviews before exams and will answer your questions or anything you miss. He's very giving with points on his exams especially if you go to his office hours. He's very caring and a good professor IMO. Grading takes a while though.
This class was basically just lectures and exams and both are so important. If you go to the lectures and listen and take notes, you will do fine on the exams. The exams are one of the few grades he does except for a couple quizzes that didn't count for much and one paper. Go to the lectures and the exams are fairly straightforward.
Professor Deliz was one of the rudest professors I've ever met. He'd frequently call out students in class or mock them for their questions. His lectures are all over the place, and he doesn't use any material just Google. Outside of his lack of compassion, it's a fairly easy class, but if you can I'd avoid this professor.
Super sweet professor, he really made an effort to connect with each student in his class. He was able to help students outside of class as well. Our final paper was kind of awful for GRW but he was mostly helpful with that and didn't grade it too hard.
He was a good professor and is clearly very passionate about his classes. the issue is that he tends to go off topic very very often and his class is very hard to follow. He grades incredibly slow and you wont know how you're doing in the class until it's over. His study guides are very useful though and tell you exactly what's on the test.
Took him for AMH 2010. Great prof! He shows a lot of passion in teaching his subject and teaches it in a way that's easy for students to comprehend. He doesn't use powerpoints in his lectures, just words, but it's pretty easy to follow. Tests and quizzes aren't hard if you study the material. Gives 1 paper at the end of semester. I recommend him!
Quizzes were online through WebCourses and were open response. Exams were in person and short answer. In lectures, he doesn't follow a slideshow so pay attention and be ready to take notes. There's only one research paper due near the end of the semester that could be on ANY topic you want (as long as it aligns with the intent of the assignment).
DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR THIS CLASS. This is the last GEP and is the hardest class hes also mean and laughed at my paper terrible dude UGHHHHHH. and a hard test that was bad
Professor Deliz was my favorite GEP teacher. I enjoyed his lectures and found him to be very wise and insightful. I love history and he made it enjoyable to learn. Attending lectures is critical, since he is open about exam content, and you will do well in the course if you put the time in and show up. Not super hard but no multiple choice.
I took this class for my GEP and will never take a class with him again. VERY lecture heavy and for as much as I went to class, I struggled. He offers 7 quizzes and no assignments. Tests are all open response. No multiple choice.
as someone who has a hard leaning style this class was hard for me, its so early so getting up was hard and then there's no slideshow or review posted so its crucial you pay attention in class. If that is your learning style then go for it but for me it was a struggle. Also no multiple choice on mid term or final.
He doesn't have any material during class, he just googles stuff and teaches off of that, so you have to take notes. The quizzes were in person and online and were all short answer. The midterm was fine if you studied the study guide. If you go to his class and sign your name in, he will round your grade up at the end of the semester
DO NOT take him. He not a good professor. He made an easy course difficult.
Do not take this for a GEP credit! The lectures are long and mostly off topic rambles with hints of relevant information. So you must note everything. Test questions are interpretational and not always historically clear so if you do not interpret it how he views it to be it is wrong. He also takes ages to grade assignments. Overall beware
He is a nice teacher, but it's hard to get a good grade in that class. There are no real notes he gives, so you need to pay attention each lecture. Once in a while he'd write something on the board, but he'd mostly pull up an image on google and just talk about it. The tests are unlike anything he discussed in the class, but the quizzes are easy.
His lectures are the main reason this class is NOT worth taking. He just talks and talks about the topic, and more than half of it is irrelevant information, he goes off topic a lot. Its very difficult to take good notes in this class, because he doesn't use any sort of powerpoint. There are no assignments, just quizzes and a midterm + final.
Heard he sometimes offers ex. cred. if you go to his office hours, not bad but Not easy, the final paper sucked but he doesn't grade harshly if you write enough to show you know the material, definitely nice guy, enjoyed his lectures, friendly but not the most lenient grader, particularly with quizzes.
Took this class thinking it could be somewhat interesting, which was not the case. He was nice but no slides provided so pay attention in class or else you will be completely lost. The final paper was poorly explained and the exams contained stuff not mentioned in class. If you are taking his class good luck.
The 7 quizzes with the lowest grades dropped. The only exams are the midterm and final exams, short answer only, and the term paper wasn't explained properly or given any feedback. He doesn't use slides during lectures, and if you aren't paying attention you will get lost in the class. He tests on stuff not gone over in class. 2/10 prof.
He doesn't post notes on his lectures and advises against note sharing so essentially you have to listen to him speak for an hour and take notes on that. His lectures are difficult to follow without any set outline. There are some quizzes that are easy points but the entire class is out of 420 pts with 3 assignments taking a bulk of that.
He is an amazing lecturer & a nice guy. He's very quiz and test heavy. 6 or 7 quizzes, a midterm, a historiography, and a final. Not enough guidance on the historiography which made it a lot more difficult to do. Provides 'reviews' before the midterm and the final, but they are not helpful because of the way they are organized.
DO NOT TAKE THIS FOR GEP CREDIT. There is a 6 page paper due at the end of the semester, your grade is entirely based on that, 7 quizzes, and 2 exams. EVERY quiz is written response ONLY. Class is ridiculously hard and stressful for a GEP, and lectures are very boring (as someone who likes history). Don't make my mistake, I'm an A student.
Don't take this professor for GEP credit. He doesn't post any slides online, just yaps about a topic and pulls up a pic on google. There's no clear notes to follow so you'll be lost all semester. There's also no homework/discussion boards/things to boost your grade. So if you do bad on the quizzes and tests you're screwed.
He started taking about taco bell the class before the exam. He talks for hours then quizzes you on something that he didn't talk about at all in class. He hasn't been clear about what the exams are on and his classes are useless. 5 quizzes 3 exams and 1 report are all your grades and there is no multiple choice, ucf needs to get rid of this guy.
This class consists of only quizzes on documents NOT covered in class, exams based on his hour long lectures and a 6 page essay at the end of the semester which will all combine to make our final grade. There are no notes posted or showed in class, you simply have to listen to his lectures or read the textbook. Find another professor, trust me.
Had him for AMH2010 and AMH2020 and I had a relatively easy time for both classes. It is imperative to show up to class. Anything on the midterms or the final will be discussed in class. I only had to read the book once because I missed a day. He does not write much on the board so you have to take notes on what he says. Super chill guy overall.
The only assignments are 10 quizzes, midterm, final exam, and final paper. The quizzes are very easy if you go to every class and the final paper can be very hard so start soon.
no visual aids besides google searches for students to follow along with in the lecture&does not properly communicate what is important to know. talks the whole class about nothing that relays to exam&rambles on abt an irrelevant question. Doesnt put out study materialswhich are only thing that tells what could be on the exam until days before-0/10
His lectures are for the most part not relevant and had exam questions on the most random things that were maybe mentioned once in class. The class ends with a 6 page histography he says is hard the first time your write one. He then says only Grad students write them so you struggle for nothing. Do not take this class!
Literally the worst professor I have ever had. Does not use slides and the study guides are not at all helpful on the quizzes and exams. DO NOT TAKE THIS FOR GEP CREDIT. Find any other professor. Makes an easy class so difficult for no reason. Harder than any 4000 level major course I've taken.
the worst professor that i ever have
I took Prof. Deliz twice, he was that amazing. Not an east A but absolutely an amazing professor. One of my favorites, if not favorite that I've had during my time in college. He is not only passionate and cares about what he teaches, he cares about his students. Couldn't recommend him more if you want to push yourself and want to learn history.
Very difficult class unless you are willing to learn and pay attention.
Class material was through free textbook. Content isn't difficult but he is a tough grader and takes awhile to upload grades (4 days after final and Im missing several grades) which are done through quizzes, discussions, a research paper, a bibliography, midterm exam, and final exam. Exams and quizzes are focused mainly on written response
GUYS JUST KNOW: HE SAYS EVERYTHING THAT'S ON THE STUDY GUIDE WILL BE ON THE EXAM! THIS IS TRUE. IF HE SAYS SOMETHING ON THE STUDY GUIDE WON'T BE SUPER IMPORTANT, DON'T BELIEVE HIS LIES! IF IT'S ON THE STUDY GUIDE, IT WILL BE ON THE EXAM. Otherwise it was fine. Boring lectures but just memorize the study guide and you'll be okay!
Took forever to grade anything & uploaded modules several days late. Only uploaded 1 lecture--the rest of class we just had youtube vids instead of actual lectures. Used Yellowdig which is easy points but would be late in posting prompts. No study guide & no feedback on anything including big final essay. Easy class but not the best teacher.
