Funny, Made Class Fun, Felt relaxed

I think he is like the nicest, the funniest, and quite good looking teacher. I had his class in the spring and he was great. He made the class fun and exciting. i really recommend him to the students.

gosh, he's like the nicest and easiest teacher. final is optional. there's so much extra credit and he makes class funny and interesting. i practially did nothing in the class.

was a very good teacher. those thought pieces kinda make u frustrated since he is a bit picky on it, but then just stick to his guidelines will do well. doesn't expect much,read the book and go over the notes you'll be fine.does not give alot of e.c.

Younger teacher with relaxed manner. Funny. Study guide for the class is helpful for exams. Likes correct outline for papers. Was not a subject that I found interesting, but he made it easier!

Class was easy.But the thought pieces are somewhat frustrated.Just do all the work to get credit.

I only had his class for 3 hrs/wk on Fri. The Hw is real easy & I would ace the exams without studying, altho psych comes naturally to me. I didn't have to take the final becuz I aced all my exams. Exams are multiple choice & just requires common psychological sense. He's young & goofy.

He explained the material very well & made it a fun, interesting class. Thought pieces were okay. Just study the notes and record the lecture (this helped me a lot!) I had to leave early for medical reasons. I had an A for most of the semester so I didn't have to take the final to raise my grade.

All classes should be like Dowdle's, you learn, you do the work, you go to class, you participate = A Dowdle and his class is definitely the perfect example of a perfect class.

this is the first time he teaches biological psychology at mt. sac. bio psyc is a boring subject, but the way he approach the subject makes the subject a little big interesting. sometimes, i dont think he does good job explain some subjects, but overall he's good. he gives lecture notes which are very helpful for study.

Easy !! His exams are very straight forward... just study from his lecture notes and you'll get an A for sure !! :D great teacher !!

He is a really great professor, the test are ok but he drops one also offers a lot of extra credit. I would highly reccommend took his 3 hour class once a week and it was great the way he teaches really keeps you alert. Easy A... (also very funny)

Love Love Love Dowdle! Multiple choice tests that are not easy, but instead gives sooooo much extra credit to make up for it. He drops the one lowest test score and has GREAT lectures. i took his 3 hours class and never fell asleep. So fun and charming. You learn a lot but a lot of work required.

Beside he is a hotty. Prof. Dowdle's interesting lecture can keep you awake~ Resonable assignments, M.C. questions tests, and he gives so mamy extra credits, and drops the lowest test which can boost up your grade~ Do yourself a favorite, go register Dowdle's class!!!

He likes to crack jokes, which is a good thing if you want to stay awake. All you need to do is study, and show up for class. Good teacher, good class. He really prepares you for tests and gives wonderful notes (to download and bring to class) and study sheet for his tests. No extra credit this time around.

this is a great profesor. Smart, easy, helpful, clear, funny, intersting. he keeps you involved. he prepares you for tests. I came to class then went home and read the chapter for that week, and i never had to study. this class was so much fun and very interesting, you will love it. there's nothing bad to say about this profesor!!

As long as you do the homework and study for your tests the class is easy. His notes and lectures are online and he always gives you a review sheet before the exam. The only bad thing about this class is that there is an 8 pages research paper. Other than that this Teacher is highly recommended

GOOD TEACHER!!! take him if you have no interest in psychology. He makes class very fun and time fly by. There is some easy HW to do and test are almost exactly the notes. Also if you pay attention in his class you will remember what he says because he relates it to something interesting.

Awesome professor! His class was my favorite class. He relates the text to real life situations, and they really help u remember it. Puts his notes online so u can print it out from there. He is why i'm majoring in psychology right now. Recommended =)

He is only easy if you do all his work and study obviously, but overall he is energetic and happy all the time. His looks?...well lets just say that at times he looks like a serial killer. ahah. Seriously though, his class is pretty cool. i believe that people with a GPA of 2.5 and up can pass this class with at least a B.

excellent teacher. class was easy as long as you all the homework and labwork. Do decent job on the test you will able to get an A and u don't even have to take the final. Makes statistic easy to understand breaks everything down. Just by doing all the homework and labwork you will pass. Easiest class that you can take at MT. SAC. Read the book few hrs before the test and u will A's the test. TAKE HIM.

Professor Dowdle has a great knack for breaking down concepts to make them more easily understood. Text wasn't real easy but I still got an A, you have to STUDY, take good notes and do all the work. I hated doing the thought pieces... overall though, I enjoyed his class and would recommend.

I took his statistics AND psyc 1A class. Both classes were fun, and i learned a lot. I RECOMMEND HIM!!!

I took psy 10 for my other option for Stats 110. It was recommended to me by a friend and it is way easier! Mike makes it fun and cool. Homework is everything in this class and worth more points then the test. Do all your homework and you'll get a C. So do all your Homework and do fair on the tests you will get a good grade.

This teacher is cool. He is really nice and easy if you do the simple work assigned to you. I took the Hybrid class (one day a week, some online work) its an easy quiz and really easy discussion assignment due every week. An easy five points, just gotta do the work. Reading the chapter for the quizes really helps!

i took him a few semesters ago and i would like to make a correction for the comment below(nothing bad)... Mike always makes us take the final, but he drops a test...regardless a final is mandatory in any class. good teacher, so helpful, so funny, and cares about the students. highly recommend.

Great Professor! Only 4 short midterm and 1 final. You can drop the lowest one. About 5% extra credit for the overall grade. Knowledgeble teacher and always have fun in the class. Highly recommend him! Just go over the notes before the tests you will be good!!

Foxy Professor!!! Oh, and I guess he's also good. In all seriousness, he is a great guy and professor. He is easy and made me get an A. I HATE psychology and he made me like it. His tests are easy and gives tons of extra credit. Great teacher if you aren't a psych major. Makes things really clear. Like I said, FOXY!! Oh and he hates orange juice.

Dowdle is absolutely hilarious, and he is also perhaps one of the best professors on campus at Mt SAC. He made stats manageable and fun even though the workload in the class is huge. Be aware that the class will take up a ton of time, but it's well worth it - especially if you're a psych major.

Such a great teacher! I took him for stats for psyc in the fall'08. I have now transferred to a University where SPSS is needed and no one knew how to do it. Taking this class and paying attention is very helpful in the future for being a Psychology major. Ask questions, he is very helpful

Took his online class. The assignments are fairly straightforward. Some of the test questions can be a little tricky so reading them a couple of times might be helpful. Overall a pretty simple class if you stay on top of everything ahead of time.

Take online class.The class is well organized and straightforward.But it is not an easy class although these previous comment say this class is easy.In my opinion,this class is only easy if you have taken Biology class,English 1C(Critical thinking),and Reading 100(college level reading).Otherwise,you may not follow the speed of class.Good luck!

I also took Psych 10 in place of Stats 110. It does meet the transfer math requirements. Prof. Dowlde is very fair and tries to make the class easy. The grading is balanced out between homework, SPSS lab, 2 article reviews which are about half the points possible. So if you keep up with the homework, SPSS labs and the 2 article reviews will do ok

Great professor! Lots of work but it's pretty easy. He also gives a lot of extra credit. Hope all teachers are like him...

The class would be vastly improved if he wouldn't joke so much or so badly. Other than that, he's a pretty good teacher. A lot of work, but the homework is helpful for the tests and seriously do help out. I dropped because the amount of work was interfering with my other grades.

One of the best teacher in Mt. Sac. I was scared at first but he made the subject interesting. Studying is a must to pass this class with an A.

Easy class to get an A. Do not fall behind on homework. It will hurt you. I also recommend not taking this class unless you've taken English 1a or higher. The test questions come directly from the chapters but are quite complex to understand. Take him.

Funny professor, his main joke was "throwing stuff over the balcony" cuz we were on the 3rd floor. If ur bad @ math or new/afraid 2 take stats take him it'll be an easy step into the subject. 4 tests, 1 final,drops lowest. Some extra cred. LABS boost ur grade, don't miss those. Overall, he is easy going. Just do ur work, try ur best,& you'll be ok.

Great teacher! I hate math I just don't get it but prof dowdle makes it so simple and clear! If u do all the hw on time and all the labs u should be fine tests aren't easy but they aren't hard if you study. Gives extra credit and SI was very helpful. Everything builds off each other so don't fall behind on the hw attendance is critical. 1ch a week.

Super easy in the beginning, gets tough in the middle, then easier towards the end. Had five exams, mostly multiple choice, one dropped. Questions mostly on lecture, but a couple from the textbook. Homework takes FOREVER to do, but graded for completion. We also did journal article review assignments, weren't impossible. VERY helpful and clear.

Really nice teacher but if you are taking psych 10 to try and just fulfill your college level math I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. If you stop paying attention for one class, you are lost the rest of the semester because you really build off of what you learn in the beginning. He likes to talk A LOT and never get out early. Least favorite class I've taken.

Dowdle embodies what a teacher should be, he is extremely supportive of his students and and will go the extra mile if you ask for help. He knows math isn't the most exciting thing so he loves to throw in stories and jokes in class which makes it a lot better. His class isn't easy but he is a great teacher and person

He talks a lot, probably the worst part of the class. It's a 3 hour class and you'll be in the class the whole time. Don't skip lab and the homework is easy. It's definitely a manageable A. Always available for help and office hours.

Professor Dowdle has prominent professional ethics and competence in teaching. (no kidding) He is a very nice&interesting person& very supportive to his students. Go to office hours and he will give you lots of feedback!There are not much HW. Quizzes are basically multiple choices. He also gives lots of extra credit!Attendance matter, no be tardy!

Dowdle is definitely the best professor for the stats class. He explains things clearly while still having a fair grading system. Drops lowest exam and exams are majority multiple choice with short answer. Homework based on completion. Just don't skip lab days and it's an easy A

He drops the lowest exam score, and offers extra credit. Attendance is mandatory, so don't miss and you'll do fine. He makes math enjoyable. The only issue I had was a grade discrepancy on my final grade so keep all papers for evidence like I did so that won't happen to you.

Prof Dowdle is definitely one of the best psyc professors at sac. As long as you show up to class & do the homework, youll pass. Hes easy to talk to & will always help all students, definitely recommend for psyc10

Took him for a short 8 week course, and as difficult has I expected it to be being it was short term, it was a breeze. With adequate preparation you can get an A. He offers extra credit assignments. Expect: quizzes on every chapter (which you can use your notes), 5 exams including final. Follow the instructions and you will pass :)

Math was never my thing, but he really makes a conscious effort to help you understand the material. He is a fantastic person and knows that the class itself is really difficult, but I think if you put in the time and effort it takes into getting the grade you want you'll do great. You really have to work for it, but its worth it.

I truly enjoyed Professor Dowdle's class. I wish I could write more about how much I appreciate this teacher. He is funny, knows his stuff and is very accommodating. Sure the he is a lot because of the actual length of the problems but very easy to manage. I wish he taught psych 1a in person. Show up to class and you will understand the material!

Dowdle is pretty funny. He's a good teacher too. He drops the lowest exam. He's snarky, but he's only joking. The class is pretty easy if you do you work and pay attention. He cares, and the class is a must take if you're a psych student. It will really prepare you for what's coming if you transfer to a university.

There was a TON of reading and assignments due in one week. I expected there to be a lot though because it's an 8-week course. I definitely worked for my grade. If you're lazy, work full-time, or just aren't that focused, he is not the professor for you. I enjoyed the class, but you need to dedicate yourself to your studies for this class.

He's one of the best professors I've ever had! He can be pretty snarky, but it's all in good fun. You can tell he makes quite the effort to make sure students are understanding the material. The class wasn't extremely difficult, but it did get challenging at times. I'm grateful to have had him as a professor. He teaches it better than CSU/UC profs.

This professor is very funny and sarcastic. He tries to liven up his lectures because it is a three hour class. He gives a 20 min break during his lecture. Honestly he is a kind person and as long as you read the textbook, and take notes you should be fine. He had available office hours for help. Make sure to not procrastinate on the homework.

Prof. Dowdle is by far the best teacher I have had, he is very funny and sarcastic which helped in a almost 3hr class. The book is mandatory to do the Practice Problems which is a big part of your grade. He gives out some credit opportunities and drops the lowest test.

Based on the ratings that Professor Dowdle was given on here, I was dreading to take this class. However, this class turned out to be my favorite this semester. The class is three hours long but it goes by so quick! DO YOUR HOMEWORK & READ!! He gives you a week to do it & two weeks to turn it in late. Hes amazing. :)

Great guy and professor! I am so glad I took him for this course. From the beginning he warns what the class will be like and what he expects from you as a student. It may sound overwhelming and it can be but seriously all you have to do is pay attention, take good notes, ask questions!, and DO THE HW! many people were borderline bc of incmpt hw!

Cool prof and has good sense of humor which helps in a three hour lecture. Follow along in lectures, labs were great!, you have a week for every HW assignment, 4 tests and he ends up dropping the lowest! He gives a ton of opportunity for EC but don't rely on it, complete the hw! makes a HUGE chunk of grade and its not even that bad! just time consm

The lecture is long but not the most draining. The class and its work are very time-consuming but not impossible. Don't let yourself fall behind because it's stressful and difficult to catch up. I recommend looking through the chapter before the lecture. The professor himself is great, the class is just very time-consuming. If I got it, you got it!

Professor Dowdle keeps the 3-hour lectures engaging with his sarcastic humor. The course load is demanding, but sticking to the textbook, homework, and using tools like unstuck study for study prep goes a long way. Overall, a challenging yet rewarding class.

Professor Dowdle was amazing instructor he does care for his students, he has office hours available for all his students, he respond back to you in matter of like hours. He's just an amazing professor to take and he's funny, so I recommend that 100% to take him whenever you get a chance in psych 10, psych three psychology whatever he's teaching.💯
