Dr. Drake is a really great professor. His tests are difficult and require a lot of preparation. His lectures are enjoyable though because he is a dynamic lecturer. He tries to point out where people make mistakes and makes everything as clear as possible. Definitely get in his section if you have to take Acc440.

Best Class in the MAcc. Both this and Dr. Wilks class. Prof. Drake is a dynamic and funny teacher that helps you understand financial statements from the perspective of an investor/user.

Dr. Drake is such a great guy! His lectures are interesting . He understands that you are likely not interested in accounting so he makes it as bearable as possible. Grading is fair. He's super knowledgeable!

Accounting is boring. Let's get that out of the way. However, Professor Drake makes every class enjoyable. One of my favorite professors I've had in the Marriott School. He explains everything clearly and if you pay attention you'll get it. He has a great sense of humor, and loves sneaking in little jokes and puns to his lectures.

Professor Drake is the BOMB. One of my favorites AND he's one of the best researchers in the country. He dumbs things down so students can understand and he's really funny. He knows a 1.5 credit class shouldn't be a burden and follows through on that. Take Drake!

One of the best teachers I've had. makes accounting as enjoyable as it is going to be. Very funny and organized and uses lots of examples and stories and makes it easy to understand.

I have never left a review on this website, but I felt like I had to for Professor Drake. This was his first semester teaching ACC 200, and it has been one of my favorite classes so far. The ACC 200 curriculum was redesigned so it is super manageable if you do all of the homework and study. I LOVE how organized his class is. 100/10 recommend.

Prof. Drake is one of the best instructors I've ever had. Super good person, and very genuine. Teaches accounting very clear, and videos on Canvas are extremely helpful. Very light hearted lectures, and he jokes around a lot. Makes the course not feel as intense as the reputation it has. Do the work and study, and you'll get a good grade.

The professor and TAs were absolutely amazing.

I started/withdrew from acc my freshmen year and was horrified to take it again. Revamped the whole course and drake was INCREDIBLE. Acc isn't my thing but he made me love coming to class cause he is so caring, real, and HILARIOUS. I worked hard swung an A-, but it's possible! USE THE ONLINE LAB, so helpful and empty! Retakes on tests up to 80!

Dr Drake is a beast. Handled a massive class size with grace and transparency. The dry humor in his lectures made me laugh out loud. The new ACC 200 program is super useful and applicable for real life finance. He gives 3 attempts on all exams, the second and third attempts capped at 80% max. Wcs, a B+ is possible if u get at least an 80 on them.

He is a great professor. If you want help there is help, his blended lectures were easy to follow. There was about 1-2 hours a week of online videos to watch, then a 1 attempt quiz, followed by a unlimited trys quiz. A great professor

Professor Drake is the goat. Honestly, I haven't met a greater professor at byu. He cares for the students and will do anything to help. 10/10 would recommend taking Acc 200 with him.

Professor Drake was amazing! I loved this class so much, he was very good at making lectures engaging and easy to learn from, even with a huge class size. He was very willing to help people who needed it, and all the course expectations were super reasonable. He shared spiritual thoughts too, which were great! Best class I've taken, hands down!

He is hilarious, explains topics super well, willing to help the class out by dropping more quizzes if necessary, prepares us well for the exam, wants students to succeed, very passionate about accounting, and somehow makes accounting exciting.

Drake is the best professor I've had at BYU. He explains things very well, responds to your emails (he had 800 kids in the class and responded to my emails every time), and he makes accounting very interesting. Take accounting from Professor Drake!

I LOVE PROF. DRAKE! He's one of the reasons why I chose to do accounting. His class was pretty easy, and he joked a lot in lectures. He made the material easy to understand. Do the practice exams and review the quizzes, and you're set for exams. Don't overthink the class. TAs are there for help. Put aside time for the class and you'll do well.

Such a great teacher. Smart, Funny, Qualified, and such a great guy. If you don't know anything about accounting, it is the perfect class for you. If you do the work and care to learn something that will definitely help in life, you will be fine. Not an easy class, but not it's not hard if you put in the needed work. This class is mostly online and you only meet in person once a week. If you do the homework, attend class, and take good notes you will be ready for the test. You do have to study for the tests, but I found they weren't too hard after I studied for them. He is so nice and cares about his students. He'll work with you if you have situations arise.

I took this class winter semester of 2023 and I absolutely loved it. It is this class that has inspired me to apply to the accounting program. I absolutely loved his class and his lectures. You can tell he cares a lot about his students and gives you all the resources you need to be successful. This class does require a good effort to succeed.

Professor Drake is the man. The class is difficult, but he makes it a lot easier. He teaches at a good pace and teaches clearly. He's super fun to listen to and does everything he can to help you succeed, but requires you to put in the work to get an A. I'm glad he's part of the accounting program

If you're taking ACC 200 TAKE IT FROM PROFESSOR DRAKE!!! He is hilarious and helps you understand accounting in a way that actually keeps you engaged. Tests are about what you'd expect. Just study and review and go the TA labs, they're so helpful

I LOVE Prof Drake! His class is so organized and clear including lectures. He makes learning accounting interesting and fun and I love how involved he is even though the class sections are huge. The TA lab is amazing and if you spend time learning the material you will be able to do well! 10/10 recommend his class- one of my faves at BYU so far!

I was so scared for this class, but Drake made it way less scary! Lectures are clear and make sense. Concepts aren't easy to understand, but he explains things in such a great way. There is much help available (Lab, TA reviews before tests, etc). And you can retake the tests 2 times to get upto an 80%.

I loved Drake's class. Well, I loved his teaching style haha. Accounting is tricky to learn and the class is test-heavy, so study hard for tests and you will be fine. All accounting 200 sections are taught partially remote with pre-recorded lectures.

Drake is awesome! He gives you every opportunity to pass the class. even though it is a large class he makes it feel personal. Great guy who cares a ton about the students!

Prof. Drake is hilarious. I loved his teaching style and his class was pretty easy. Learned quite a bit of stuff that will be helpful in my personal life.

1:15 lecture 1x a week and then video lectures the rest of the week. Have to watch video lectures to take module quizzes (2-3 hours per week). Tests are pretty hard but there are review quizzes to prepare you. Go to accounting lab in library, they help so much. Final is cumulative and pretty hard (rewatch module 11-14, don't just take quizzes)

Professor Drake is a funny guy and a good teacher. The class is natually a more challenging one and Professor Drake did a really good job helping us understand the material and preparing us for the exams. I would highly recomend him to anyone looking to take ACC200.

I love Drake! Drake if your reading this, we bumped into each other in the canc like 3 times. One time was in the bathroom too. His class was fun and engaging. Lots of video lectures outside of class but they were all doable. Great professor.

DRAKE IS THE BEST! Literally could not recommend enough. He explains things so well and is incredibly organized for teaching 1,000+ students. He makes me want to be an accounting major even though I never would be. **Do practice quizzes 5,000 times! The practice problems will be your best test-prep!***

Dr. Drake is amazing! He is hilarious and makes accounting so interesting. His lectures, both in person and on videos, were super entertaining and engaging. The class requires a lot of memorization and you definitely need to study for quizzes and exams, but over all it was great.

Professor Drake did a phenomenal job teaching UNIV 101! He was super considerate of us and dropped assignments entirely when there was too much work in the class. His lectures were informative, uplifting, and very applicable. He seemed to care a lot more about whether or not we were having a good college experience than he did about grades.

Professor Drake has been my favorite so far. He makes every lecture so interesting and you can tell he makes an effort to prepare for every class. He always knows how to make even the most boring concepts fun to learn. I am taking a blended accounting class and we have a lot of videos to watch to learn the content but he is so engaging! Professor Drake is FANTASTIC. If you need to take ACC 200 for any reason, take it from Drake. He is a fantastic teacher and cares for his students. The TA's are fantastic as well. ACC 200 does require work, but it is very doable if you put in the effort. Michael Drake inspired me - I'm sure you'll develop a love for accounting as I did.

Drake is the best. He's the most entertaining and engaging professor I've had. He makes accounting interesting and is also able to explain the content at a basic level. He's able to connect well with the students and as long as you study all in-class work and slides, as well as go to a TA review, the tests shouldn't be a big problem.

Professor Drake is amazing!! He makes accounting seem kind of fun and is always cracking jokes. He is a natural teacher and explains complicated material so well! He also cares lots about connecting with his students and is very friendly.

Very funny lectures. You can tell he cares about his subject! Somehow he helps you understand accounting very well it is like you don't understand a concept before class and then you listen to him give a lecture and boom you understand.

If you want to suceed in this class you have more than enough resources to do so, you just have to out in the work. Drake is a very skilled teacher and is BIG on helping you learn and understand the subject. I am not an accounting major, but I didn't hate this class. 10/10 rating for Drake, we love him.

Drake is a really funny professor! He loves accounting and he teaches it well. The last 3rd of the class is the trickiest (in my opinion), but just go to the TA lab and they're a HUGE help. Attendance is optional but go to lectures because he explains everything better from the modules. 3 exams total! Pay close attention and you'll be fine!

PLEASE take any class with Drake!! Technically lecture attendance isn't required, but there's material in lectures that isn't in the book. It really won't be a problem though because his lectures are super engaging and awesome. I also really love how he uses his TA's in class. It makes having a large section a lot easier.

Professor Drake is the best to do it. If you know the notes and can pass all the practice tests, you will get an A in the class. The practice tests are a solid foundation for what you'll see on the exams. He doesn't try to trick you.

This class is SO well structured. Nothing will ever sneak up on you. Drake does a phenomenal job at explaining difficult content. It requires consistent effort but there are so many resources available to you that there's no reason you shouldn't do really well. Loved it! Considering accounting now because of Drake.

I really really liked him. The TA's were great, always available, and his lectures weren't boring. He is funny and very clear with how the class works. I LOVED the retakes. I always was able to grasp the concepts by seeing my first attempt, and being able to take another attempt.

Drake was an extremely knowledgeable, clear and fair professor. I looked forward to watching his videos as well as his in person lectures. Exams were difficult but Drake provided incredible study guides, TA reviews, and hints in his lectures.

Not an easy class, bur he gives you ALL of the tools necessary to get an A. Attendance isn't mandatory, I got an A just watching the videos and studying the TA exam review slides. And he's hilarious. I wonder if he uses the same jokes every semester because they're so funny.

He is AMAZING! I think I will remember him for the rest of my life as being the best professor ever! He's super entertaining and funny and has a gift for teaching in an understandable way!

His class is incredibly well-structured, and never once was I concerned about a due date or confused about an assignment because the content was laid out so clearly. People stare at me because I'm constantly laughing while doing accounting. Drake is the most effortlessly funny professor I've ever had. I didn't do great in the class because I'm not particularly interested in the subject and it's tricky stuff, but he made it so entertaining. Genuinely looked forward to his online video lessons. TAKE HIM!!!!!!!!!!

Prof Drake is the way to go. He is so funny and the class and its information are so accessible. The tests are application based so they are built to push you beyond what you learn in lectures and in notes, so you need to learn the concepts in a higher way. This class has changed my way of thinking in such a positive way! Would recommend.

Michael Drake is the GOAT. His lectures are hilarious, and his online videos teach the course content fabulously. Yes, you must actually study if you don't know accounting. If you have good study habits and commit time to learn the material the class is fairly straightforward. The final exam was 35 questions and got tiresome halfway through.

If you're new to accounting like me, this class might be a bit harder than you expect. Drake was awesome. He was funny, relatable, and very caring. But the class itself was hard! Lots of work and the tests were very difficult. If you spend ample time at the TA lab, go to every class, and keep up with the work you'll be okay though.
