Professor Duffy is one of the nicest English professors I have met. He spends plenty of one on one time with the students and ensures that they have a clear understanding of the material. I enjoyed his class so much, I took him for M01B.

This guy explained each topic 20 times. never left the class confused. always helped. I never spent more then 2 hrs on a essay. Most of them uesd same from high school. I got a easy B and im happy

Duffy is the sweetest english teacher. nice guy, funny, loves the book, "culture of fear". his grading is pretty fair. Happy to have taken him.

Very passionate about literature, but not necessarily interested in his students (at least the guys). However, his passion is contagious and I have loved books much more since taking his class. Write well according to his taste and you'll get an A.

Very experienced, eduated teacher! He definately knows his stuff and explains it well. If there was ever a problem he would help work it out in some way with the students. I would recommend taking this teacher, I learned a lot from him.

He really makes sure you understand the material! He is really nice and will help anyone who needs it.You have a few essays to write in MLA format and a daily journal that you do in class. He really makes class fun by bringing up current issues to discuss.

Hes a good teacher, he makes it interesting and he always wants to hear what you have to say. Hes definitly not the easiest grader, but I would say a B in his class wouldnt be impossible to get. I would definitly have him again.

The guy is very liberal and intellectual but he's not like Noam Chomsky. He isn't boring if you're a smart person. If you're a republican you'll hate him. He shows Bowling for Columbine and he has you read the book "Culture of Fear". If you're an intellectual liberal like me then you'll really enjoy this class. There's not much required reading thank god.

Duffy was a good teacher. He gives assignments regularly which are pretty easy but can be rether strict when grading major essays. Small assignments he pretty much gives you the points if you do them. He comments on relevant issues in class and tries to incorporate social issues into class discussion. I recommend Duffy if U R competent in English.

great teacher. Really sets a great foundation for essay formats and structures. Doesn't teach just the same old boring 5 paragraph essay garbage. I highly recommend you take him.

Interesting teacher. Talks alot. Homework was pretty easy. We only used the essay book a few times and we hardly used the handbook thing. I'd recomend trying to share the books with a friend. Overall good teacher, very helpful, would recomend.

Fantastic teacher for those that want to actually learn something. If you hate reading, hate writing, hate class discussions...this isn't the teacher for you. (and you might also want to rethink the whole college thing...) He is offbeat, intelligent, and very helpful. You will become a better writer if you take his classes seriously.

Mr. Duffy is an interesting teacher. He's liberal and is pretty funny. His class will be fairly easy as long as you complete all the homework and attend class! Don't be surprised if you have to speak publicly every now and then, he asks for opinions. Overall, he's a chill teacher and I'd take the class again if I ahd to.

Attend every class and do all the homework and you'll have a B. Funny guy, liberal, but laid back. Expect to put forth some effort, but it's no problem if you keep up attendance. I'm taking him for M01B in the summer!

I really enjoyed this teacher and I got a big kick out of his tangents. Important to go to class everyday because he’s a little scattered and throws out info whenever. Hard to gage your grade because he holds off on collecting papers till the end of the semester. I enjoyed him and will take him for M01B in the summer.

Requires a lot of work that comes from the readings in the book. Developing writing styles is the main objective in this course. He's pretty easy going and he knows it. So when he gives you ample time to complete an assignment, he'll be mad if you don't. just keep up on the readings and you'll do fine. A few papers and tiny quizzes. He's very fair

Pretty cool guy. there are a lot of essays and a 10pg research paper at the end. there is a lot of work and he seems to get off topic easily you just need to do the hw and you will pass easily

Duffy is really funny and he tried to make class interesting. Because he is cool and funny, at first you assume that he will grade kinda easy, but he definitely doesn't. He is a tuff grader, but is willing to read your papers outside of class, which is nice. Even though his class was the only class that i got a B in, i still recommend him.

Duffy is an awesome guy and great teacher. He always makes a point to help you if you need it. His class was always entertaining and lets you go early most days.

He gives out a lot of work but most of the time you enjoy doing it. The stories and books you read are interesting and the essay topics are pretty easy. I enjoyed his class and will probably take him again.

GREAT professor! There are like 5 writting assignments the entire semester 2 of which are cake. He doesn't get on your case about turning it in on time either. He makes what you are reading interesting and he always has something to say. Take every class he teaches! He's the best.

I loved this teacher. My favorite teacher at Moorpark thus far. Grades extremely fairly and gives alot of chances to turn in late or missing work. A little bit scatter brained at times but always managed to make class interesting and fun.

Loved this teacher! Took M01B over summer and he made the class surprisingly fun. Two essays and a research paper. He's REALLY lenient when it comes to turning in late work. Fair grader. Good class, wish I had taken him for M01A too.

Loved this class! I was dreading taking a 4 hour night class over the summer but he made it surprisingly fun and enjoyable! Lots of easy short HW assignments, 2 essays, 1 research paper, and a final. Lots of movie clips and interesting discussions. Take this class!

I love this professor! he is very helpful and funny. He makes jokes and keeps class fun. I took a 8:00am class and he kept me awake! TAKE HIM! :)

Absolutely loved this class. He was so nice and he's very lenient on grading. He does give work, but it's all easy. Homework is all summarizing and personal opinions. We watched movies in class and wrote essays on them. There is also a term paper which is at the least 7 pages long, but it is pretty easy.

I took this class during the summer and it was very high pace. He is not a hard teacher however his work load is not easy. Be prepared to read, write responses and essays. Overall an A is not hard to achieve as long as you go to class and do the work.

He offers a lot of open discussions. He is not easy on grading but he is fair so if you try your best your efforts will be count.

Easy class show up do your work you will have no problem passing. Gives homework based on your opinion and summarizing. Can get by with out your book just look up the things you read from the book. No test or mid term just a final. Reads one book Catcher in the Rye and write an essay. 5 essays 1 is extra credit and one is your research paper

First two essays are super easy so nail those and hope to do good on the final 3. The final 3 are the tough ones but you should get an A or B final grade if you nail the first two essays and turn in all the homework. Classes are pretty engaging. I would recommend him but the only thing that sucks is he is part time so no office hours.

I really like Duffy. He is very clear on what is expected of you, and how you are graded. He is friendly, and very approachable. My class had 3 essays, an 9 page research paper, and a final in-class essay. Daily homework and reading, all of which is very straightforward. I highly recommend him, his writing tips & strategies will stick with you!

I took this prof for MO1A and MO1B and I enjoyed both semesters. I got a B in MO1A because I did not put enough corrections for my final drafts. He expects thought out papers with a authentic thesis. I got an A in MO1B. Lectures are enjoyable. He gets off topic often and plays a lot of movies.

He's a good teacher, but he does NOT respond to emails, only reads them. He also tends to go on about things that are irrelevant to the class. I like that he gives out homework assignments two weeks at a time. He's a solid choice if you need a teacher who makes class tolerable, but don't take him if you want a teacher who responses to emails.

Duffy's class was fun and all the subjects were thought-provoking. I saw a lot of improvement in my writing, but it could only be expected after so many drafts and homework. He's a pretty tough grader when it comes to essays, but overall I didn't feel any pressure from this class. I would take another class with him.

Great class! Tends to get off topic but homework is easy, and he cares a lot about his students and helping them do better. Gives amazing feedback. I would definitely take another class with this professor.

Such an easy class. He cares a lot about his students and gives back great feedback for the essays. Had homework every night, but very easy. He does go off topic but other than that super easy class. Final is beyond easy too! Not great with emails though and never cancels class but does let you out 10 mins early everyday!

He goes into the very specifics with writing (can be helpful but can get boring). He can get very political. Journal done every Monday and turned in at the end of the semester. Fairly easy if you try and do the homework and essays.

Great English Professor! Know what he is talking about and is always bringing up interesting topics in his journal writings. He does make you read a lot of short stories but the homework is not that bad. He is very clear with the structure of an essay and what he wants you to improve on. I would highly recommend this professor if you love reading

I thought Duffy was an amazing teacher. Hes a very fair grader gives good feedback. There was a lot of reading of short stories from the textbook and one other book which you need to read for homework. There was a lot of homework, usually two assignments per class, however, he isnt too upset if they are done late. Not too many essays.

Class is veryyyy boring. He is very political and there is a lot of homework. The class is very easy as long as you show up and do the homework. He takes late homework too which is nice.

Nice guy! Almost all of the HW is summary/response stuff, usually two per class. Three essays and one reasearch paper at the end, dont procrastinate too much and you should do fine.

He is an amazing professor. We watch movies in that class which all relate to what we are learning. Journals and Film Logs are easy points for your grade. We have a few essays but he always gives his feed back on what you turn in. There is homework but it's very easy.

This was sort of a tough class for me but Professor Duffy made the class less hard and it did not turn out so bad. There are three essays and research paper. The final is an in-class essay. Also, he gives good feedback on your work that you turn in. But overall he is a cool guy and he is caring about his students and wants them to succeed.
