very good and entertaining lectures; but don't his charm make you think his exams are easy; make sure you are well studied and an A is very possible.

his tests are difficult but he is very clear about how to get a good grade in his class. Follow his instrusctions and you can relax and enjoy!
Extremely interesting and entertaining class to say the least...he could be a stand-up comedian. He's objective and a great professor...study and you will do fine. This was one of the best classes I've ever taken and I *highly* recommend it :)

very charismatic and funny; relates to college students well; class is fun to go to which is rare; lots of material to go over but what he expects from you is pretty clear; reminds me of a better looking michael palin from monty python=)take the class!

I took his class online and it's the best thing I ever did! He responds (e-mail, msg board, etc) almost instantly to any questions, etc. Tests are great; gave us extra time to start first test (books weren't in); TA's equally helpful; r0x0r!
very cute and a very fun class to go to.
Incredibly intersting class, wonderful professor, and he's very good looking... the other Dr. Dunn is a lucky woman to be married to him =) Definitely take this!
Great teacher, interesting material and hes a hottie what else could you want?
He is a nice and entertaining teacher, however his tests are horrible. I am an A student struggling in this class. There have been many things on the tests that neither he nor the book has covered. His TA is the one that runs the class!
test's are very hard. i studied and studied and i am having a hard time. here is so much info and it's hard to really study it all for a 50 question test that is somewhat specific.
I like this class-- didn't love it, but got through it! The tests are dificult and challenging, you have to study in this class! Dr. Dunn is very helpful though! THanks Dr.Dunn
Definitely not an easy A. Not even an easy B. You have to go to class and read the book several times if you expect to do well in this class. He's a good teacher though, just not the best material I guess.
Well, His TA is very helpful. He's very interested in the material but there is a big diference between clinical pyschologists and research pyschologists (like Dr.Dunn). He's to the point, not really concerned with how well students do. Hard tests.
very entertaining but as if he doesn't enjoy teaching & is pissed off most of the time, impatient. started out saying he loves questions but gets impatient with ours, goes on with his answers, in love with his own voice, big ego & tests hard too! :(
Very informative class. Im a total slacker and made an A in this class. Great class to go to while under the influence of drugs.
Not as easy as I thought..I barely made an A and studied for over a week for each test. Study guides are not helpful, don't know where some test questions come from. He is very smart and thinks that his students know as much as him. Nice and cute guy thou
This class wasn't an easy A. Dr. Dunn and his lectures are very interesting but his tests are difficult and some questions come from no where. Be prepared to study! There are many extra credit options too. Good class that takes great effort.
Overall a good course. Important to come to class and make good notes. Pay attention to major topics when studying for tests, and mostly study the lecture notes not the book.
very easy class. interesting discussions and course material. 3 tests make up grade. do study guides. got a B w/o trying
Got 99% as final grade without experimetrix extra credit - just study and you'll do fine!
Dunn is a great teacher. He is hillarious and the material is interesting. I actually enjoyed going to class. The test were easy, but you have to go to class for notes and read the text to do well. I would highly recommend Dunn and this class.
Mr. Dunn is not a very understanding professor when it comes to the concerns of his students, unless it is his mistake about something. His test were easy but the time portion of it really stunk. Run away from this man, and his WIFE.
DR. Dunn is a great teacher! Some ppl are babied and clearly unaware of how hard a test can actually be in other parts of the world! They're certainly up for a rude awakening when the real world smacks them in the face & their every whim isn't catered to!
Prof. drones on and on and on... Can never get to the point when answering q's. Tries too hard to be funny. Interesting topic though. Must come to class and study for A. Only 3 tests make up grade. Decent class
Didnt like him...he goes on about nothing every class and he thinks hes really funny but hes not..Tests are ok but kinda tricky..I wouldnt take him again
Goes on tangents frequently. Most of the time he would only go through a few slides a day. Doesn't seem to be too interested in teaching and if we had any questions we had to talk to his TA because he didn't want to deal with it.I wish there was a different teacher for this class!
his lectures are okay, kinda boring usually. tests are difficult because he goes off into tangents instead of actually teaching. plus, it felt like no matter how hard i studied, i just couldn't do well on the exams!
The most pompous guy ever! I learned a lot in the class, but he just thinks he is awesome. The tests are 50/50 notes/book and they are somewhat difficult.
This was a very interesting course. If you have questions about drugs, take this class. The class is impersonal, but it's a course w/ 300 people, and that's expected. Dr. Dunn was always willing to answer questions after class. I highly reccomend this course.
UCF's hottest professor and by far the charmest along with Dr. Gilson. He's funny, smart & very clear. He makes his lectures quite interesting. **Girls beware, you might find yourselves coming to class just 'cuz he's so cute! ;)**
Very smart, you learn alot of useful info. Hes easy to understand and explains questions, he is pretty funny so going to class isnt bad at all. The tests are a tad hard, but if you study the notes from class and the book you will do just fine. I would definitely take him again and recommed him!
Lazy..Class website has junk from two years ago. He did not respond to my emails. Tries too hard to be entertaining and it tends to become obnoxious. Too easy, too subjective and opinionated. No class control, lots of chatter during class. Who cares if a professor is "hot"? I care about a professor who can teach.
Pompous as all get up! Loves to hear himself talk & 9x/10, it's nonsensical rambling. Format = 3 50? MC exams, 4-5 chapters/test, & they're difficult. Half way thru class he changed the format. He let students submit ?'s for all 3 tests & let students retake the first 2 if they desired. Interesting material, his attitude makes the class horrible.
Terrible class. This teacher is completely unorganized and blames everything on his T.As. He never starts class on time and then wants to keep you longer. Takes him forever to get through slides which he never has available on webct like he says. Class isn't really hard just frustratingly boring. I wouldn't recommend it.
I know he has to be smart deep down, but he appears as an idiot! He is unorganized, starts class 15 mins late every time, unprepared, has useless TAs, last test was so screwed up-a million typos he is trying to correct AS we are trying to concentrate and take the test..despite everything i still have close to an A, BUT i have learned nothing
One of my favorite classes. I still have the texbook years later. I thought he was great and interesting.
Material was interesting. He lets students turn in questions for the exam. I recommend doing this because if he doesn't get enough he makes the questions and they are very hard. tests are easy if they come from students questions. straight off of study guide.
interesting class but i pretty much taught myself through the book & got 100s on the tests. he's really disorganized & wastes time in class on random stuff & thinks he is so funny. he was funny the first day & then it got annoying when i wanted to learn and he didn't teach. kids in the class ask stupid q's but all you need to do is read the book!
The material is very interesting but he tends to be a little too opinionated in his lecture. Very disorganized, he starts class late all the time and the notes take forever to be posted online.
take it. 3 tests and extra credit available, DO THE XCRED bc with only 3 tests you could do bad on one test and be unable to recover. pro- study guides, easy to understand notes. con- ppl making comments just to prove their a pothead (waste of time & annoying), study guide posted only couple days b4 test, notes have blanks (have to get in class)
Completely disorganized, his notes and the textbook were always different. He is boring and annoying, students ask too many questions and waste time. The class is easy though I got an A. Do the extra credit.
Both of the Dunn's taught this online Abnormal Psych class together. There was a quiz for each chapter, and they could get pretty specific, so you HAD to read the book to get an A. The final was EASY as it was just diagnosing illnesses. Other than that there were 4 EASY written assignments. Feedback through email was very quick. Very kind people.
If you google "Thomas Jane" and look at the images of him you will know what Michael Dunn looks like.
The class itself wasn't bad. HOWEVER, never take it online with Dunn. I emailed him 4 times over the course of the semester and he never emailed me back. EVER. Also, the book is poorly copied. Myself and two others had books with several pages missing, so if you do have to take the class, check the book! (Drug Use and Abuse by Maisto)
Took Dr. Dunn for Psychobio Aspects of Drugs. His life's research is in this topic, so it's very interesting to see the implications. He is interesting and I learned a LOT in this class. Easy B, and a little work for an A. The notes are different from the textbook and the only tough part about the exams is remembering which source believes what
He was a good professor overall but sometimes came off as lazy. It didn't affect the class though and he kept it interesting. He also has that "professorish" sense of humor which at least adds to the class. I would overall recommend him though. The class itself is also really interesting!
buy ebook, it will help a lot on the quizzes/exams. work fast on the quizzes/exams. hard class because it is a hard science. for final, save all your previous quizzes into one and exchange with other people in the class to give yourself a huge bank of questions for the final.
I took this class online. There's no interaction between the professor and the students. The class is stuctured in this way: read the chapter then take a 20 question quiz once a week. That's it. It was the EASIEST A I've ever "earned". Also, the information is interesting so the class was awesome all around.
This guy is ok. Take him but be prepared to get study groups together n get the questions on the review answered. thats the BEST way to get yourself a good grade. Read the ch's and get the notes if u dont go to class!
I took his class online. All you have to do is read the chapter and then take a 21 question quiz. A few of the questions were from the book companion website, so it is extremely helpful to take that quiz beforehand. The ebook is free online. I like the class, I just wish there was more supplemental material to actually provoke interest and learning
I took this class online. It was extremely straight forward. He provides chapter outlines for each chapter of reading material. Quizzes are fair and require preparation. I would definitely take another class with this professor again!
This class was very simple. We had to read a chapter every week and take a 20 question quiz with a bonus question. The information was very interesting to read and final exam is cumulative.
do NOT take online! or just as an easy side class-quizzes are tricky and timed 30 mins for 21 questions. weekly quizzes and one cumulative final that does not share the same questions as were on the quizzes.Do the small amount of extra credit! i ran out of time and had to guess on a lot of the quizzes and final. wound up with a low B.
Straightforward class, there's a quiz every week and a final exam. Not really enough time allotted to look up every answer in textbook, definitely need to read the chapters but if you do it's pretty easy. Material wasn't too bad to learn and there is a little bit of extra credit
do NOT take online if you are looking for an easy side class. timed quizzes as only source of grade plus a final. C in the class...
Very easy class especially if you're into how drugs affect the human body. 20 questions with a bonus question for a total of 21 questions. Plus you can earn up to 5 extra points if you sign up for psychology studies through SONA.
Reading the chapters is essential for doing well on the quizzes. As long as you read the chapters and take time to understand the content, you will do fine. Professor Dunn was great and the TA was helpful. 15 quizzes (23 minutes to take them) and 2 writing assignments, not terrible as long as you read the chapters.
I took this class online, he is a great professor! Simple assignments but you learn a lot! He has a great teaching method. Would recommend!
I took this online, and it was very straightforward but I still learned a lot. Read one chapter a week, take a 20 question (pretty specific and timed) quiz. Extra credit through SONA and 2 easy writing assignments. Learned a lot, wish I had taken it in person.
Professor Dunn is simply an amazing guy. Though this class was not taken in person, I did have communication with the professor. He really cares about your success in the class and is there and ready to help with any problems that may occur. I am taking it now over the summer semester and would definitely take this professor again if possible!
There's a quiz every week, they're easy. Writing assignment. No need to buy the book. Take Prof. Dunn, he's great. Nothing to lose here, easy online class. Before you know it, you'll be Dunn and Dunn.
Having the book is a MUST or else you will not pass. He is extremely helpful and very understanding. Very down to earth professor, one of my favorites thus far! Quizzes are 20 ?'s and timed for 20 minutes (1 min per question).
quiz every week containing 20 questions giving you 20 mins to finish it. You really have to read the chapter, well at least half of it to answer majority of the questions. You def won't have enough time to look online for the answers. The textbook is pretty interesting, but long. 2 assignments, but they are super easy. and a final that is easy too.
1 quiz/week, sometimes 2. 20 question quiz answered in 20 minutes. Read chapter thoroughly. Extra assignment every month or so. Favorite class. Final was 35 questions in 45 minutes, questions were used in earlier quizzes so pretty easy. Easy A.
If you are looking to learn some very interesting things about how drugs and alcohol affect the body... you've come to the right guy. But if you are looking for an easy online class, DO NOT TAKE. It is a LOT of reading the textbook. 1 quiz per week, 15 questions timed. You really have to read the chapters and take notes in order to pass the quizzes
The professor is good, the only thing that puts your grade a bit down is the exams.20 questions for 20 minutes, the book is a must read. Though the labs do help your grade if you follow them correctly. I got a B on this class, so labs fairly easy.
Interesting class and well organized. Lots of reading, labs and quizzes. Quizzes are tough because they're timed (about 1 min. per ?)and some ques. are lengthy. I ended up owning my book rental because I highlighted the book to death. Lots of info. to absorb. A positive note, Dr. Dunn does care and values your input. Would take him again.
Best professor ever! Super helpful and teaches you in an interesting and informative way. I had him for a 3 hour lecture from 6-8:50 pm and I was never bored. If you have questions he finds different ways to explain stuff to you until you understand. Doesn't waste time on unimportant material. Just generally a wonderful guy.
He was an awesome professor. I was in his 3 hour block class but he made it very fun and interesting. He is very accommodating and will help you out. The chapters in the book are long but quizzes are straightforward.
Taking this class for summer. The worst part is the reading. As it is a 6 week course, we are covering about 3 chapters a week, and the chapters are average textbook length. It's more tedious than difficult. Tests once a week, and short assignments once every couple of weeks. Great personality, had a nice chat with him. I would take him again, def!
Super easy online A class. One quiz a week and questions are very simple. Two writing assignments that are actually interesting. He gives practice quizzes too that are super helpful and option for easy SONA extra credit.
All the assignment are in MindTap. Everything, but the final exam, is available by the end of the first month of the semester. You can finish all the assignments in bulk if you want. The class is super easy and quick to finish. If you need a filler class, take PSB3441 with professor Dunn !
Professor Dunn was incredibly kind and helpful. I took this course fully online but whenever I had a question he was quick to answer and would go to great detail in the explanation. There are a lot of assignments due each week but if you break them down they don't take long. Everything is due through MindTap.
Very great guy and an easy online class: weekly widgets and assignments/quizzes which are all open note from the textbook. Cumulative final exam which was also easy and open note. Stay on top of the material, and the A is almost guaranteed. Great class to take if you're looking for a not too demanding course.
An interesting and pretty easy class. You would only required to know the textbook, but Dr. Dunn provided many other resources for personal interest, and is clearly very passionate about his subject and others learning about it. The class itself provided a lot of good information, especially for a student interested in psychiatry. Would recommend!
The material is really interesting. It's a lot of work to get through 3 chapters a week so I'd suggest not taking it over a 6-week summer. The professor doesn't interact much, but has some articles and lecture excerpts posted in the class that were interesting. He answers emails and will send a message if he'll be out of office.
Easy class, everything is on Cengage Portal. Assignments/tests due every Sunday. No interactions with professor unless there is a grading issue. Virtual labs are easy and fast. Weekly quizzes and tests are open notes. No Lockdown Browser. Practice tests provided have answers on real test. Chapter summaries provided by professor help with studying.
Professor Dunn is straightforward and excellent. Most assignments are provided at the beginning of the semester, which worked perfectly for me. Tests and Quizzes are pretty easy with proper notes and studying. Long chapter quizzes and the final exam are completely on your own no notes or book.
All assignments were completed through cengage besides the weekly 20 question quizzes. Very easy if you take good notes
He is by far my favorite professor I've had class with at UCF. He gives very interesting lectures that feel more like a conversation with us rather than a boring rant. He's funny and makes class enjoyable. All the work is online and fairly easy. Chapter tests every week using lockdown browser, but fairly easy as well. Definitely recommend.
Dr. Dunn is actually one of the best professors I have ever had in college. He is so funny and his lectures are always so engaging and interesting. Attendance is not mandatory and you can pass the class just by doing the assignments, but if you actually want to learn and hear real world experience then I recommend attending the lectures.
Worst professor I've had. Weekly quizzes have inaccurate questions that don't match lectures or the textbook. He's always behind in lectures, making class pointless. When approached, he's dismissive. Brought in a guest speaker who said “you can be healthy at any size” with no science. I'm shocked he's still teaching. Don't take this professor!
Test questions are nonsensical, inaccurate and quite possibly ai-generated. Practice quizzes must be taken multiple times to exhaust all answers. Massive amount of homework is a slog. Eventually, I lost it and finished the last 6 chapters in one sitting just to get this class over with. Not worth your time at all.
Prof. Dunn's class was one of the best I have taken at UCF. His lectures were really helpful and I learned a lot from this class. There is a fair amount of homework but nothing crazy, usually takes two hours or so a week. He is also super and understanding with questions/ needing help. He even gives out information for volunteering and internships.
took the class in summer so the material was condensed but the work it manageable, all you do is weekly quizzes on a lockdown browser with no camera and short multiple question "quizzes and tests" the textbook is provided, these tell you the right answer until you get 100. Its very hard to not pass this class if im gonna be honest. Also extra credit
A very easy class! Relies mostly on MindTap assignments (not hard just sometimes time consuming) and weekly quizzes + 1 cumulative online final. I appreciated the option to be able to sit and complete the class in one sitting due to how Dr. Dunn has webcourses set up. Super nice and provides plenty of extra learning opportunities!
