kinda teacher who says "i dont know why you guys arent learning?" arrogant
Sets high standards, eager to help, loves to teach.
Teacher wants things quoted and done his way or it is wrong
He makes his students feel dumb and incompetent!!!!!!!!
Teacher wants you to do it his way and never mind the rest
Hard Subject / Hard teacher. Only prof. I've ever had come to a study group!
i dig him
Excellent ! Great class, learned a lot, loved the reading!
Apply what I learned from this proffesor and class almost every day! Take it!!
Motivated students will become reasoning beings; the rest will fail themselves
You are required to think; the course is designed for serious college students.
A 'meaning of life' view of Phil; great reading; the course can change your life
A brilliant professor and an inspiration for phil majors, if you do the work.
Most exciting professor I
Most exciting class, professor.!! Take this class and examine your life!
He's smart&sexy. If you don't have common sense, don't take this class.
Not a teacher to take...very rude
Is he hot?Hell yes, especially when he has that second button undone. But the sex appeal is only an added bonus. This class, this professor encourages you to think for yourself and determine what direction you'll take your life.
This was the most rewarding class I've taken. If you are willing to show up on time prepared and think, then you will get a lot out of this class. For the serious student, but the work is very doable.
eh...he's ok...can be a bit of a jerk sometimes
This course was mindless, a semester long tangent full of self gratification--unfortunately not for me, just for the so called prof.
The man is a modern-day Socrates and is disliked for the same reasons why Socrates was condemned...
He definitly will make you think. DO NOT ****him off! Might be a cool guy out of class, but very egotisitcal in class. He knows what he's doing so if you want a challenge take him.
Avoid taking his class. Your opinion does not count. He is in love with himself.

Einhaus' philosophy class changed my life. Now, I can't speak for his logic class, but logic is one of those subjects that MOST people hate anyway...so consider that before you diss him. He IS like a modern day Socrates; he knows his stuff!!! great guy
horrible, thinks he is better than everybody else
Einhaus is a GREAT professor. Some people don't like him because he is extremely smart and expects alot. Isn't that why people are in college? He is the reason I majored in philosophy!
Goes out of his way to help students understand.
An extremely attractive gentleman who's charm and exquisite voice will melt your heart. Don't miss this class. His IQ probably borders on genius so don't expect to absorb everything. Just do what he asks you to. 5 chile peppers
My favorite professor of all time is Michael Einhaus. He expects nothing more than to just do the bare minimum of what he asks. The stupidest person in the world could learn in his class. If you want an easy class, why are you in college?!?!
Einhaus rocks! He challenges you and demands COLLEGE effort from his students. Finally, there's a professor who will prepare community college students for transfer to a university system! Wake up and meet his challenge or you will crash and burn later on.
Mike is a ****.He changed the way I view media.I still owe him a bottle of wine.
This is a difficult class, but Prof. Einhaus is always available to help. He will challenge your mind, and he will change you as a person...IF you are willing to listen and learn. If you stick it out you'll learn more from him than you ever thought possib
I should of stuck it out, but I got to stressed. However, thanks for the INSIGHTS, being real, and not wearing a cloak. He'll give 100 percent if you will, and will take personal interest in trying to reach you with his teachings. ****

Looks down on you if you ask questions. Don't go to his office. He makes you sit on a couch which makes you lower to the ground than he is. He is not very open minded.
manipulative, wolf in sheep's clothing.
Ethics of living and dieing. He is a good teacher, yeah he looks down on you but if you read everything and take notes on the movies you will do fine.
Thinks he knows everything!
So far the class is all right. As an older student, who is his own boss, I don't appreciate his condescention. There are more important things in life than his class.
Give him some time and he'll grow on you. He may expect a lot from you, but he is also willing to give his all in order to help you learn the material. If you don't feel alive in his class,& want to be a better person, than something must be wrong w/you.
I'm not exactly sure what I am learning. What have I gotten into? He's a pretty hard grader though.
First he should work at being a better person and quit with the assuming, mixed signals, and childish games. I don't trust this guy. Maybe his last job was at high school, but I think we all have grown since then.
Oh my God!
He is hard but, He looks down on most in his class like we don't understnad anything and he is the answer to everything. I am still confused and this is our 8th week ,he gives no direction to where you are in the class i can only hope to pass.
Mike is a good teacher, but he does not know how to separate his politics from his teachings. He promotes his right wing agenda from behind his podium. He bashes liberals often. I don't care if you are right wing; but don't add that to your lectures.
Teaches very thoroughly, but expects thoroughness of the student. The poor students won't like him, the good students will.
This is my second class with this professor. I though the first time I took him was ok. But there were oonly ten of us. This second class there are only 9. I know why now. He thinks he knows everything. I don't get to think for myself.
As a student in the nursing program, I really have to say his class doesn't seem practical in any way. Don't recommend him.
Egotistical would be an understatement. Very manipulative and hungery for power. Don't trust this professor at all.
He is estremely articulate, and it feels like his eyes penetrate threw you. He's very handsome. Maybe thats why he comes off condensending, but he's probably earned it
I've learned a lot from Mike. Bakersfield is a small town, and it's nice to learn from someone who's been around the country. I feel like I'm getting in sink with the rest of the world. I'm going to pursue my speaking skills, so I can correspond like him.
His tests are hard for one reason: he doesn't prepare you. he really is manipulative. He has his own agenda, so if you want to learn how to think for yourself, like thinking outside his littel box, then I don't recommend him at all.
With only 5 students left in my class, I can honestly say that this guy is not a good teacher. Who does he teach too - Answer: himself. He likes to hear himself talk.
fairly easy class, but he can be rude sometimes.
arrogant professor. don't take him. don't learn much in his course except how much he thinks he is the best. it gets real old real quick. suggest finding a different profesor for this class. don't waste your time with a know-it-all! nothing to learn here!
Someone commented that the good students will like him and the bad students will not. This is inaccurate. I know more than a few good students who did not like him, and they earned A's and B's in the class.
not much to say. didn't learn very much. he's kinda not nice.
Not too hard but thinks his ideas are always right
Class was great but whatever you do, don't take it from him!
I agree with the previous comment. Logic seems interesting but DONT take it from him.
Arrogant,Opininated So+So.While he is full of it,he CAN stumble across an idea and cause you to think. However, most of what you will think,is "How did I wind up in this class?" Do not take his class, under any circumstance.
I took him for Ethics of Living and Dying and I did not learn a thing about living and dying. It was more of a general philosophy class and 3/4 of the semester was spent discussing everything that had nothing to do with death and dying. Arrogant too.
Walk, don't run. Move away from the door . . . find someone else. I am an A student. But his mind is, well, shall we say . . . ossified? It is not that he isn't bright--but he is so sure of himseld that he has quit thinking. Ironic, yes?
I love philosophy, have read the greats, but he made me burn my collection. Not because of the challenge, but that philosophy rests in the laps of men like these who are too busy glancing at thier reflection on the glass as opposed to seeing through!

Total jerk. Loves to demean his students. I think that there's a definite reason why this man STILL teaches at the community college level, and he takes his bitterness out on his students. I wish he had less tenure so that BC would kick his ass out.
His class is somewhat difficult but if you really try you will get it. I got an A in his class. He tinks he is the smartest man on campus!!
run dont look back. worst teacher i have ever had.
If you like a professor who is rude, obnoxious, and generally unpleasent to be in the presence of, he's your man! You could say he's a pretentious weenie, but that would be insulting to pretentious weenies.
he's a great guy, very nice teacher. Took class for a week and went to COMM B5, class was too demanding. Logic is not for me. But recommend him to anyone if looking for a good prof. Demanding and likes the class to be interactive. He's very smart and lecture is not boring.
I had him two years ago but he is still my favorite. Yes it is a very hard class but not too difficult if you actually try. This is the only class that Ive had to work to get a B & still be happy. If you want an easy grade, dont take this class but if you want to really want to learn then take him.
Difficult class, even for an A student like me. However, Prof Einhaus is funny occasionally and really REALLY makes you think. Very interesting class, and I recommend it to anyone interested in philosophy.
Hard class, you should probably like taking essays, because you will do a lot of it! Hard class, great teacher. I learned so much. At first you might be scared of him, but just do your work, and do what you are supposed to do, and he will do the same. Go to the tutor if you need help. I got an A
Pretty kewl teacher, hard but that is what college is all about. If you don't like doing homework then don't get him. But overall Michael is pretty good.
If you are in the nursing program, don't take him. Hes impossible and expects you to live for his class. Ther are more important things than listening to an egomanic! Dont recommend him at all.
He's more interested in impressing the women that he's hot. Make sure you give him attention or he'll get wierd.
Einhaus sure like the sound of his own voice. He uses anything he can to try to belittle his students. So if you get stuck w/ this Jackass, here are a few tips:Take good notes.Don't be late or absent.Do ALL of your homework(it's a lot).Your grade will be the average of all of your exams + your x-crdt.
VERY difficult class from the very beginning everything he teaches will mix in with another lecture & lead to another He expects you to understand his "english" when you ask a question he QUESTIONS YOUR question and it just starts all over again. Interesting class but not worth taking with HIM
I like some of the books however I had a hard time understanding the professor. I felt scared alittle of the time.

This class was extremely hard!! All tests are essay tests. Very VERY hard class, I would not recommend it to ANYONE unless your major is Philosophy. Try to stay away from this class.
He knows the subject really well, and he is very demanding.
He knows the subject very well. Lots of hard work. Has ego problems. If you want to learn Philosophy take his class, if you just need to pass take someone else
Due to the fact that I am wrapping up my AA, I'm sad to say that I am not currently enrolled in one of his classes. If it were up to me I'd take his classes purely for the enjoyment factor. I have learned more from him than I have from any other professor. He has the ability to change your life.
VERY difficult class from the very beginning everything he teaches will mix in with another lecture & lead to another He expects you to understand his "english" when you ask a question he QUESTIONS YOUR question and it just starts all over again. Interesting class but not worth taking with HIM
Professor Einhaus is easy, so dont let him scare you. You just have to think like he doeas. tHat sucks. Good luck.
He is very smart, interesting, and knows his****. The class is demanding, but you can learn a lot if you participate in discussions and try not to prove that you are right when you aren't.
Give my a break God help this guy! He needs any thing he can get!
Good teacher, he is always willing to talk to you about something. Not for the weak. Don't take it unless you want a challenge.
Really dont like the classroom lectures. I feel uncomfrotable. But I had to take this class. To much busy work.
Interesting, but very energy draining. Einhaus is a bit intimidating, but with a LOT of hard work, you can get an A. Offers very little extra credit. He's nice to talk to outside of class.
His class is pretty easy in my book. You have to write what he wnts you to write. Make sure you give him attention or he'll get wierd.
The subject itself is fairly intense. But if you take good notes and participate (or at least listen) during the class discussion, you can get a decent grade.
A very tough teacher, not for the average student who is not a BC to learn. If you are willing to settle for something less challenging then dont take him. The #1 skill needed for this class is reading comprehension.
Professor Einhaus is easy, so dont let him scare you. You just have to think like he doeas. Not as hard as he thinks he is. Good luck.
i found this class to be rather annoying, just look at the comment below me they say that the class is easy as long as you think the same way that he does, why should a professor feel as if he has to make a student think the same way and have same ideals as him or have a hard time in the class, for this reason i think he is a horrible professor
boring teacher
This is definately a college level taught class. Do not expect to take the easy way out on this one because you will not pass.Requires a lot of indepth thought and concentrated listening in class.Overall,I learned a lot and changed my own thoughts about controlling my death. Participate in class and don't get caught up in the hype.
He expects his students to come to class, listen, and do the homework. It is not hard to get an A if you do this. He is fair in grading and passionate about the subject. If this class is too difficult for you, do not plan on ever attending a university. He is an excellent professor and one can learn a great deal from him.
Einhaus is just a bad instructor. Couple that fact with his clear intent to indoctrinate you with his personal opinions and you have fifteen weeks of horrible boredom. There is no real open discussion of material though he pretends to do that. You can get by if you mimic his teachings and pretend to be impressed and interested. Basically terrible.
Better rigth what he wants or you'll be cut down. Better also treat him as if he was God or he will get wierd.
This instructor is very effective at guiding and inspiring students concerned with improving their thinking. Highly recommended. Don't get intimidated by whiners; he's fair and cares about his students.
tell him what he wants to hear and you wll do fine. he seems to know stuff but he is self centered. groce.
Most awesome teacher ever. Everyone else just couldn't handle it. He does not indoctrinate, and what I learned in his logic class and death and dying class will stay with me forever. He will probably be one of the reasons I get into law school.
the only ppl who hate this guy are the ones who dont stick it thru. by far he is the best phil teacher out there.... well better that mcnellis

It continues to baffle me everytime I read his comments. This is by far the BEST PROFESSOR at B.C. He actually wants you to learn something from his classes. Unfortunately that is too much for some. He helped me to see the world more clearly, and to actually think about things that really matter. I can't say enough about him. INCREDIBLE MAN!!!!
Rocked my world...awesome, AWESOME teacher. anyone who says otherwise just couldn't hang.

i liked him a lot, actually. i took his logic class twice; the first time i wasn't very serious about school, but when i took it the second time i really learned a lot-- i got a "B!" i fully respect this prof and wish he taught statistics... :) &

Most philosophy professors make their class difficult, because to make it too EASY would contradict everything they stood for. Einhaus, like other GREAT professors push for you to be more knowledgeable and wiser in your decisions. People rating Einhaus LOW are simply doing so because they think college should be like highschool. Never once did Einhaus feel as if he were forcing his opinions on me. Some people are just too sensitive of their OWN opinions.
Einhaus is a major bummer. He doesn't help make the material sensible to newcomers and he's very condescending when answering, which makes you not want to ask at all. I really wanted to take this course, was very interested in it, but after him wished I hadn't. I'm not the smartest but I have good study habits, work hard. He stinks as a professor.
So disapointed with the class.
Mike is tough. Most of the people that complain on here are ones who go into a logic class with arguments and ideas that are not well formulated. Any good prof. will tear apart your ideas and teach you how to think, rather than make the class easy. To the ones who critique him: Try harder, you'll do better. Think, instead of just talk.
He is a damn good teacher, and hell yeah his class was tough! However I loved it, I have never been pushed so hard to expand my abilities. I put a lot of effort into that class, and it paid off because I didn't even have to take the final.
Was very interested in the class before I attended. Harsh in your face teaching style (litteraly). Gets extremely upset when the class does not ask questions. overall a disapointment, the class was not what I thought it would be.
Einhaus has the amazing ability to make EVERY topic less interesting and less clear.
Probably the most spirited and most dedicated teacher on campus... maybe the state?
I dont like this class he is keep taklking until the class i"ll over he is mean
Oh come on people. Even on his most intense days of grulling interrogation he makes you want to prove him wrong. So? Have you? Did he get you to do what he wanted? If you think he's harsh then you should of meet my father.
I took ethics of living and dying, and it was an AWESOME class, but I think there was only about 6 people in the class by the end of the semester. He is an ****, but in a good 'you're going to learn from it' kind of way. Very personable after and outside of class. He expects a lot, C'mon people, death is important. Don't take if you don't care.
People that complain about this class were generally close minded and or were unable to formulate proper questions. Mr. Einhaus' class is very difficult but is also very rewarding in the sense that you are forced to think. What people usually thought was Mr. Einhaus pushing his opinion onto students was his having to control the direction of the to
Better rigth what he wants or you'll be cut down. Better also treat him as if he was God or he will get wierd.
Had him in the fall of 2001. I went thru hell that semester as my mom dies in November. He was very understanding, let me miss a week of class and still passed with a B+
Although his piano playing during the lecture on Levinas seemed odd, and his defenestration of Franz, the gay, Austrian teaching assistant, seemed as pointless as Merceau's demise, Einhause is a profligate gadfly, deserving of the encomium thrust upon him by even the vapid masses of BC. Hail to the king, Miguel de Rexland Acres...and happy birthday
this guy likes himself way to much and not his studetns stay away for your life
I dont like this class he is keep taklking until the class i"ll over he is mean

I really wanted to take this course, was very interested in it, but after him wished I hadn't. I'm not the smartest but I have good study habits, work hard. He stinks as a professor.
he's way smart but completly ridiculus in what he expects from you. Be prepared to take a quiz everyday and write 400-600 word papers everyweek and the papers and homework don't count for points, he just takes 1% off your final grade for every missing one though. Also you have to raise your hand if you want to leave the class to use the restroom
Without exception the worst instructor on the planet.Well at least in California. This man is so offensive, impatient and clearly hates his students that you'll wonder why he teaches and why you took a class with him after reading this review. Not actually a hard, rather,he's simply obnoxious, condescending and should be working in a hardware store.
Yes, he is tough, but....If you think of the topic of death,it is serious and not to be taken lightly .You either get it or you don't. If you don't have the maturity or the ability to devote your self get out now......
Prof. Einhaus is a just professor, but requires much work outside of class. Not more than can be expected for students, but more than students generally expect. I once dreamt of a rhino fullfling its life-long dream to become an astronaught, and Einhaus was its co-pilot. Just goes to show you what an impression a challenging instructor can make.
This teacher is not easy, but you get a lot out of his class.
very good class. If you want to open your mind to new ideas, you will like this class. I got a C in the class, but that is not the insstructors fault. He is very educated, and will help you if you see him during office hours. If you talk to him, it will make a world of difference in your understanding of the material.Dont memorize learn the material
I thought he was a total *** the first day I met him, but he is a good professor. As I took the class, I realized he's a good guy, and only wants to get you thinking about things you probably don't ever think about. This class definitely shed a new light on things. The readings are aslo kinda fun, if you get into them the way he wants you to. He do
Okay, you win Mr. autocracy. It's all about him, and he's only concerned with students who repeat exactly what he says; new expanded thoughts unnerve him. It's all yours Einhaus. I get the message; theirs not enough room for me on YOUR campus.
At first, he seems really intimidating, bYou will get used to his teaching techniques. Participate in class as well as read all the books thoroughly and you should do fine. Best advice, don't get butthurt by his comments, just make sure you dont ask stupid questions cuz this isn't a stupid class!!!
He makes quick assumptions that are insulting. I wonder how he would feel if he was treated that way. He and I don't like each other, but I was willing to leave. He thought I shouldn't be able to find where I fit into the world without his blessing. Now he has completely stopped me from living my life. No democracy, just he's world.
This professor should not be teaching a class were you have to think about any concepts because he does not want you to think for yourself he wants you to EXACTLY REPEAT his thoughts and any other thought is wrong.
He is a little arrogant. But the way he presents the material is interesting if your gonna be working aroud death. He can be a D*ck sometimes, but thats just him on a power trip. overall its a regular class with regular standards. dont be scared to take him its not that bad.
we are expected to learn the material ourselves, then next class he is supposed to go over it with us, but he just rambles on about how much he thinks he is right... about everything.
If you want to do well in his course, then you must be able to memorize, understand, and be able to reproduce some basic informal logic. The teacher knows his stuff, and he'll let you know that he does, but don't be afraid to ask questions or to question him. If you are right, then it will be obvious, and he will accept it. Great teacher;good Class
I'm so impressed with his latest published comments, and is the reason I liked his class. Why did it take so long to say? Remember, if one can have their say then so should everyone else, and then move on. He still is a Sparten, one of the 300. Bravo
actually he's very passionate about the subject, most people don't like him but i learned a lot from this class even tho i got a D. it is hard and lots of homework but a very interesting class.
Einhaus is certainly one of the smartest, most effective, interesting, and funniest professors at BC. Those who dislike him are likely just either lazy or close-minded. If you want a top quality education at a bargain price, take his class (it's a rare and lucky find in this city). I highly recommend him; he's one of the top 3 professors on campus
His class is both entertaining and informative. So much so, I actually changed my major to Philosophy. This class is a true gem for a community college. I have taken classes at a university that can not compare to his lectures. You really get your bang for your buck.
He is really helpful and actually teaches his class. If you want to learn, take his class.
Einhaus is definitely a stickler. He has high expectations for anybody taking the class and doesn't mess around. If your into serious professors with a little personality, take him. If your not willing to work, find another teacher!
He is a good teacher.
hard class until you take the first test and realize that he talks about so much more than is tested on. informative class. i want him to take me to dinner.
Very smart man, but his teaching style is too slow and tangential. You just have to do the reading and listen to lecture so you understand the concepts. That's it. I spent much time in office hours to clarify concepts. Dinner was good :)
He teaches philosophy
M - is evocative - a guy you love to hate/hate to love? I can see why people say he's arrogant...however, I wonder how many/few of his students noticed that in addition to being extremely passionate he's also vulnerable - you just have to open your "eyes" and he'll broaden your mind - still a teacher is always learning - even from his students....
He really is hot, its just hard to get his attention and sometimes you say things, and realize oops, shouldn't have done that. If you say something to your child its because you see they can be what you never will. The professor can be what many of us never will. He's on the very top of the food chain, hopefully he won't forget this.
He's got it all, and so intreging, oops bad speling. Thank goodness for the Mikes that keep life going for us all. Best wishes for the professors future.
Good teacher, difficult class. He has a extreme passion for philosophy so you better learn to have it as well when getting into class.
einhaus is such a great professor! ive taken him twice and thanks to him im a philosophy major now. he is so passionate and actually makes his students think outside the box. if youre a serious student looking for a teacher who actually teaches you something and isnt just easy, i suggest you give him a try! especially for b6a!
You must come prepared to think and discuss intellegently. Class participation is a must, but it is not limited to teacher-student discussions, you have to apply what is learned to the discussions. This is a very challenging class. There are no shortcuts.
He has the POTENTIAL of being an amazing professor. He gave me a really hard time when speaking in class, felt that I shouldnt because you are always wrong. I think it was a way of teaching us to think, but to me it felt horrible. He uses the book yet says the answers are wrong. When taking the test you 2nd guess yourself,is this what he thinks or M
M is a very smart person who knows his stuff. It is hard to ask questions because he makes you feel like you shouldn't have asked. He is always proving that he is smarter than you but unable to help you understand the material better when you ask question. He insist that you seek help with other tutors them ask of him last.
Prof. Einhaus is very straight forward. He is very intelligent and he will be sure you know this. He wants everyone to succeed, but will force you to try very hard. Tough class, but if you actually want to learn philosophy and apply it to real life then Take this proffessor! He also encourages questions, just be able to defend your position!
Many on here have commented that Mike hates his students and dislikes people that question him. I find this odd, because I questioned him often, and I have also become a good friend of his. I have yet to meet a professor that has more former students as friends. If anything, he cares too much. He does have a low tolerance for narrow mindedness.
I think he is a good teacher, but you have to not only pay attention to what he says but also the arguments he has with other students. Its easy to day dream in the class but if you stay focused i dont see why you can't get a B. Be prepared to get proven wrong though :D
He wants you to have strong arguments for your beliefs. Essay tests are picked apart. My mom was dying at the time but I never missed a class. He told me I knew my stuff so show it more in my writing. It was hard as she was on her death bed. I have my degree but I'm up for a challenge to take one of his other classes. Not for weak.
Prof. Einhaus knows his stuff but he persents them in a boring way. He isn't very helpful and he believes his views are right and others wrong. He assigns a lot of work so be prepared to pull allnighters. His grading is fair. Remember to drink a lot of coffee or energy drink because he talks in a monotone voice. Don't take a class with him ;)
I really liked this class, it made me love philosphy :D he was a great teacher, I learned a lot from him :)
He is a great teacher. He really goes after the stupid students, and doesn't let them get away with being illogical. He grades fair, not easy. Any student that chooses a teacher based on ease is an idiot and should drop out of school.
I didn't like Einhaus at all as a person. However, he is a decent teacher and will make sure your critical thinking skills improve by the end of the semester. Take him if you want to learn, not for ease. And to the commenter before me, you may want to retake his class as your comment is extremely illogical and pretty stupid as well. <3 Take care.
Einhaus might be a cool guy outside of class, but he's a pretentious snob inside it. He belittles and berates any student that isn't on their knees worshiping him, and isn't that great at teaching the material. He rarely explains homework at all before assigning it, then treats you like an idiot for not "having done this for 12 years". Not worth it
Einhaus is a cool teacher both inside and outside of class. He is fun and will definitely make sure you learn to think AND write better. However, you do have to work for your grade. You can't get a C by showing up. Recommended, especially if you don't like philosophy classes.
This is not an easy A class. It requires several hours a week dedicated to homework. Einhaus does come off as a snob, but I managed to deal with it for a semester. The papers are not simple, but once you understand the format, you should be getting B's. He doesn't always collect hw, even if it was 10 pages worth. Discussed controversial topics.
I would just like to warn everyone right now, this class is not easy. You have to devote at least 8 hours to a single paper in order to get a B on it. I often felt insecure and unsure about my work. This is coming from a student who always gets A's with ease. But if you honestly want to learn, this class is worth it! Einhaus is like Mr. Miyagi.
Professor Einhaus is demanding but he will prepare for the challenges of a university. He's a shock at the junior college level but his pace is the norm in big leagues. Be prepared to work hard!!
This class must be the most difficult class I've taken yet, but it has been the most rewarding by far. You will spend countless hours on papers, and your writing should improve tenfold if you follow Mr. Einhaus's advice. He is conservative, but he is not looking for you to agree with him but to have *perfect* logic. Great prof.
(forgot section number) class was advanced comp/critical thinking. This class was super challenging & Mr. Einhaus really pushes his students but the class will prepare you for 4-year college better than any other class as a big part of higher education is writing term papers and being able to express ideas, make a point & support it. thanks!
I took Intro to Logic online with him and the class can be pretty difficult. But the professor is really helpful and knows what he is talking about. Most of the chapters are pretty easy, only one got a little confusing for me. If you do all the homework (which isn't alot) you will pass.
He's one of the toughest professors @ BC but he will prepare for the UC or CSU system. If you plan to transfer take him.
You can't help but learn from this man. But it is hard to get a good grade, although doable. If what you want is an easy class, take one of the other folks teaching this class. if you want to get better at writing and thinking, he is your man.
Had Einhaus for Advanced Comp/Critical Thinking. Definetly the hardest class at BC, but the most valuable. I transfered to a private school and the writing experience gained in that class has proven to be invaluable. DONT TAKE CLASS IF YOU CANNOT PUT IN THE TIME AND EFFORT NECESSARY. Literally, at least 5 hours a week of homework. Well worth it!
Worst teacher I've ever had at BC. The work is so hard and he is not helpful. The way he grades is absolutely ridiculous. I am an A student and had to drop because I was receiving an F
VERY time consuming class. I took his class instead of English 2. It's a mix of a writing and a logic class. Dont buy textbook!, it comes with Aplia! Einhause is totally an intellectual and has arguments for and against controversial issues I had never heard before. Write using logic! Be sure and look over your papers! Fair grader. Writing improved
Prof Einhaus is one of the best professors at Bakersfield College. His classes are not meant to be easy, they're meant to teach you how to be a better thinker and writer. If you want to be prepared for university level classes, I definitely recommend that you take his classes! He won't be easy, but he will make sure you come out a better student.
Professor Einhaus taught a true college level class. He said it would take 9-12 hours a week, and it did. I'm used to online courses requiring 3 hours a week, so it was a shock. I did ok, and feel like I learned important reasoning skills. Einhaus was always availble to help you, by phone, or office hours, or email; he is very good face to face.
He was one of my favorite professors I had at BC. He truly cared about the students while teaching with high expectations of the students. Sometimes the information went way over my head but he would slow down to help students like myself. I would go to his office hours for help occasionally and he would stay on a topic until I understood it.
Einhaus was extremely helpful. There are many concepts within the study of Logic that can be difficult to grasp however, Einhaus assists at every step via online forums, email or phone. Handouts are provided that walk you through the process to arrive at the correct discussion answers. Follow the handouts, read the textbook, ask questions.
I would of droped this class but he worked so hard to help me improve. Hes a super great professor.
Mr. Einhaus is a laid back professor. Letting everyone have a say sometimes eats up class time. He isn't too strict and much of the work is up to students to complete on aplia.com. However, gives a lot of feedback and support if you just email him or attend office hours. No book required but online access code is about $100.00.
Einhaus rocks! I'll never forget the stuff i learned in this class
Einhaus reciprocated the students willingness to participate. Students who didn't care he didn't reach out to, students who wanted extra help he would meet up with for study sessions at coffees shops. Great Professor yes his class is tough but the lessons last a lifetime. Not a snob, he uses the socratic method that is hard for some to understand.
I love his teaching style, focusing on lecture and dialogue. Ancient Philosophy opened my eyes in so many ways!
He makes you realize what the message of the whole class was not just reading things and writing papers and wondering what it is that he wants it was more like what we found within ourselves because of taking that class.
I enjoyed his class, class, and class. He made it easy to learn
