Well like by the class, Mr Elmes is a great math teacher and a huge help to all of us that just never liked math. He helps you to enjoy it the way he dose!!

He is a really great teacher and he makes everything easy to understand. Homework is optional for you to do. Depends if you want to do pratice problems or not. Also you always get out of class early. DEF TAKE HIM!HES AWESOME!!

Mike is not only a great guy but a fantastic teacher! Enthusiastic, young and wants students to do well! Tests are difficult if you don't study. He is completely available for help. He is down to earth and knows what he's doing. Take him!

Very cool teacher, who wants his students to succeed. very easy going atmosphere in his classes, and his teaching style is easy to follow because he'll walk you through things step by step so you can make the connections yourself instead of him spoon feeding the info

Class is a little hard, but he does everything he can to help you pass. Is always willing to help you when you don't understand something. I would recommend taking him.

mr. elmes is such a nice guy, always willing to help even when times get tough. the math department is set up weird, so tests count for alot but he is wiling to give out extra credit and quizzes and projects count for alot which are easy. he always lets us out early which is great too

i can not stand math but mike helped me understand and actually enjoy it. he is extremely helpful, and wants his students to do well.

Mr.Elmes, Awesome teacher and I will be more then happy to take another class with him. He is easy and very fair. He wont blow up your spot in the middle of class and he wont tell you what to do, only guide you on the right path.. With him its do the work and get out!

Professor Elmes is the greatest teacher at brookdale. He makes math extremely easy to understand and is so helpful. the text book is garbage but the packet is great..i did work hard to get an A in his class but I did not struggle when it came to understanding the material b/c of mike.Take a class with him he will change the way you feel about math.

By far one of the best math teachers at Brookdale. I've had some terrible teachers but he was great. Very helpful, wants stuff done on time but may make exceptions. Lots of experience in the Business field which is a plus! Great energy, you'll enjoy the class if you take him.

He is an excellent math teacher. He really knows how to teach math concepts to make you understand. He just makes it so easy to understand. He is the guy if you have math anxiety. I didn't think I could pass this class - but Mike made it easy to understand. I'm maintaining an A on all my tests. You have to take Mike's class!!!

Great teacher!

Extremely friendly and engaging. Takes great interest in all students both personally and academically. Presents material concisely. Telegraphs exactly what will be on tests and quizzes. The material can be tedious, but he emails out amazing notes. DiffEq does require you to know diff/integration inside out and be comfortable with Maple.

Professor Elmes is very helpful and enthusiastic to teach. It was his first time teaching Differential Equations and He did a GREAT JOB.He is always happy and that made each and every extremely enjoyable. Make sure you know integration rules(from calc 2) very well and are familiar with maple use. You will love this class!

Mike was the best math teacher I had by far.He is there for his students that want to do well. He actually cares about his students. I got a b in the class and am a c to d student in math.I passed the tests with c's and b's.He is a fair teacher.If you show effort he will not fail you.Just give this class all you have and I promise you will pass.GL!

Greatest Math teacher at Brookdale!

One of the best Professor so far. He teaches so that you can understand always make time available for his students. Very responsive when you email a problem to him. I would recommend him to anyone.

Professor Elmes was probably the best Teacher I have ever had. He goes out of his way to help every student. I barely did any homework cause his lectures made everything so crystal clear. I don't think he challenged us enough tho. He is also a great person I felt comfortable about asking him about my future in my career and schooling.

Professor Elmes has made one of my most dreaded subjects, mathematics, into something approachable and understandable. He shows a true love of what he does in the classroom. Mike is the embodiment of what it means to be a professor at Brookdale and the paragon of good teachers.

He is a great guy. He has a passion for math no professor at brook dale has. He cares about you not just as a student but as a person. Just show up to this class and make effort you will pass. He is the only professor to tell a good joke at Lincroft. If you feel discouraged in math this is the guy you need. He changed my attitude toward math.

I've never done well in math until I had Mike as a professor. He makes everything click. Not to mention.. he's adorable. Always cracking cute corny jokes to keep everyones attention. Actually considered failing on purpose just so I could take his class again. Absolutely loved him. You can't go wrong taking his class. Easy A if you follow along.

Best math professor I've ever had. Actually, he might be the best teacher I've EVER had, period. Not only does he make math seem like a piece of cake, but I don't think he's ever been in a bad mood before. Don't take anyone else; you'll ace this class even if math is your worst subject.

Cannot say enough great things about Mike in 350 characters. Overall greatest teacher I've ever had. Type of person that comes around once in a lifetime, where you actually look forward to driving to class to be in the same room he is in. Helps you with anything you need, takes out what he feels is too hard, and walks you step by step thru it.

I NEVER got an A in math and he is the reason I passed with flying colors! He is so energetic and always had a smile on his face. He will go over anything you have trouble on. There are 9 quizzes he gives you. 2 of which are dropped on the lowest grade. Study at and you will do amazing!! I will seriously miss him! He was so sweet

Ive been at Brookdale for 2 years now, and he has been the best professor i have taken. i had a difficult time with this class, but he has made it so much easier for me to understand and its only been the first week! he's wonderful. if you're taking this class, TAKE HIM. take him for math in general esp. if its difficult for you to understand.

Mike is very enthusiastic throughout class and wants ALL his students to do well...Put in the effort, and the grades will show with Mikes help! He is quick to answer emails, and will help anytime during office hours.

Mike is the man. He is very understanding. If you need help, he is there. Does a good job of explaining things. If you miss a class, he understands that life happens and does his best to get you up to speed.

Took this class as a hybrid. Prof. Elmes spent his summer making lessons on Youtube with voice for the online portion of our class as if he was teaching us the lesson. Very nice and helpful. Will NOT force you to work in groups for projects! Easy going and clear. Wish I could take him again for 156!

Mike is a very helpful, great teacher. If you have a question he is there to answer. He drops your 3 lowest quizes and 3-4 lowest labs. He is a very easy grader. Show up and you will pass.

Such a great teacher! Math is my worst subject and this was my favorite class this semester. He is extremely clear and helpful and posts online videos of every single lecture and examples. Attendance helps but doesn't count towards your grade. We always got out early but he was there if anyone wanted extra help. Would love to take again.

"I am not a math person." Or so I was told all my life. Then I took Mike's class and I got an A. First A in math ever. Mike is an awesome teacher - extremely helpful. His class changed everything about math for me. His class is why I changed majors.

Mr. Elmes changed academic career for the better. My road of taking math classes was rocky at Brookdale until I took him. I owe my 4.0, deans list, and two acceptances to national honor societies at NJCU to him. He helped me non-stop. If you are struggling he helps put you in a position to improve. He loves his craft! You must show up to class!

Michael is an amazing man and teacher. I had a very tough semester due to personal issues and still managed to get an A. He really cares if you understand and wants to see everyone succeed. I wish I could take him for every math class. He explains everything so clearly!

Professor Elmes is an excellent professor. He clearly and effectively explains all and any questions you may have. He is energetic and makes his students laugh and feel comfortable. Be prepared for labs after his lectures. He gives a lot of short quizzes before the four tests that he has throughout the semester. The textbook was not mandatory.

Mike is by far one of the best math professors at Brookdale. He really cares about his students. He is always there to help he will sit down with you until you understand it. He also puts videos on canvas of the lecture if he is teaching a hybird class, and he will also put the videos up on canvas for his regular classes.

If you need to take any math class at Brookdale, I highly recommend taking Mike Elmes. He is an extremely enthusiastic professor, and you will actually enjoy going to his class. He is very clear, has a great sense of humor, and he truly wants everyone to succeed in his class. He is one of the best professors at Brookdale.

I took Professor Elmes for stats and he was honestly the best professor I have ever had. He is extremely lenient and easy going when it comes to handing in your labs and he tells you exactly what is on the exams. Even if you are a struggling math student, he is always there to answer any questions and for extra help. TAKE EVERY CLASS WITH HIM!!!

I LOVED Mr. Elmes! Math is a subject that makes me cry, but I managed to come out with an A+ and one of the top students in class. He was SO helpful and knowledgeable! He takes the time to make sure you succeeded in his class! I would take ANY class from him! Highly recommend if his class is available!

Mike is a great professor. Math is not my favorite subject by any means, but Mike made each lecture super clear and understandable. He would take the time to answer anyone's questions and go over plenty of examples if you don't understand. Syllabus is clear cut and followed out each week. He is funny, cool and chill! Must take!!!!!

One of the best professors I have had at Brookdale so far, you wont leave not understanding something. he will take the time to make sure you understand what is going on. Does not cancel class but you will always get out early. no mandatory homework

I cannot stand math, so taking a math class in the summer seemed like my worst nightmare. Mike is one of the best professors I've ever had, he explains everything very clearly, doesn't waste time, and is extremely supportive. He also posts the video versions of his lectures and labs on canvas, which is SO helpful for understanding material.

Took MATH145 over the summer and I was pleasantly surprised at his awesome personality! He is the best professor I have ever had. He is very upbeat, always happy, cracks jokes, and makes the class very comfortable. As long as you do the homework, labs, and study, you will do great in his class. I honestly miss having him as a professor!

Awesome well-rounded professor. Great personality and great lectures. Explains everything in detail so I barely ever needed to ask questions. As long as you do the homework and labs, tests and quizzes should be easy. He does not give extra credit, but I never needed it because he made the class so easy to understand !

Nicest teacher I've ever met. He has videos for every chapter in the book and teaches it all very well. He hardly calls on the class to answer but still keeps them at full attention with his upbeat attitude. Seriously terrific teacher.

He is an amazing professor. He makes sure the material being taught is clear and understood by all students. He grades fair and helps prepare you for test. Loves answering questions and has no problem going over problems multiple times. Encourages participation, but does not pressure anyone.

I really liked him and how he taught his class. He was a little quick at times but never had a problem going back or explaining again. There was never homework but encourages us to go home and look at what we did in class He never kept us all the way until the end of class but he taught us everything we needed to know without rushing us.

Prof. Elmes is a great professor! He expects you to show up to class. He teaches everything clearly, and if you dont understand ask. He is very responsive by email so if you have questions he is always willing to help. I would definitely take a class he teaches again.

Mike is the nicest guy in the world. I took his class online. Offers for you to come to in-person classes if you need to. You need the textbook for the access code. He also does video examples from the book so its nice to have the book to follow along. One project, 3 exams, best 6 quiz grades count. would definitely take again.

Best prof Ive ever had!! Answered all my emails about questions and went out of his way to make sure I understood it. Would stay after class with me when I needed and generally cares about you Understanding the material. I cant wait to take him again next semester

I took professor elmes two semesters in a row and I loved every second of it. I am not a huge math person but I always looked forward to attending his lectures. He is so funny and really cares about each of his students. He will go above and beyond to help you with any questions. I would recommend him to anyone having to take a math class at bdale.

Mike is by far the best Math professor I have had at Brookdale so far. If you need help with an assignment, he doesn't take long to respond. You can tell he cares about his students. He is a very easy going guy. Not a lot of homework. The labs he gives us for each unit are definitely helpful when the time comes to take a Unit test.

I am not a math person(this is my first A in math, ever). His videos are amazing and easy to understand. I sat through his class and it was good but a bit to fast for me. I like that you can pause and replay the videos. He is responsive to emails and extremely helpful. This man enjoys teaching and it shows. It's easy IF you pay attention.

Professor Elmes has plenty office hours, if you're taking him fully online he posts the solutions to labs and video demonstrations. I highly recommend him - he doesn't give many assignments so complete all the labs and you'll do fine on quizzes (3) and tests (3). One disclaimer:If you have trouble with math in general - do not take it fully online!

Professor Elmes really is such an awesome instructor. Coming from someone who struggles with any sort of math, he really guides you through the course and on the path to success. He makes it very well known that he is always there if you are in need of assistance.

Only some of the homework is mandatory which is nice. It helps if you watch the videos he posts on Canvas to explain things that are on you to know between classes (not very time consuming).

I really enjoyed Michael Elmes class. You watch videos of him going through key points in the book, do homework on MATHXL software, and sometimes upload labs. I had questions/mishaps in the semester, and he is always available. I looked for math classes I have to take and hoped he taught one of them! Just do the homework. Not overwhelming.

Definitely my favorite professor from my first semester. Always available if you need help, but explains the stuff well in class so you hopefully won't need it. For in-person class, he assigned Labs as homework, but used them for attendance. He drops the two worst Labs and the worst one of three quizzes. I can't recommend him more, he's the best!

ONLINE CLASS. +One of the COOLEST professors in this college. +I really appreciated that he posted many office hours for me to use for extra help. +The lectures were very well explained (I like math). -I don't like HW, so the weekly lab was a bit of a task for me but obviously, I gotta show my work to him to show that I understand the material. :)

He was such a good teacher and is always there to help you out. He makes you understand math and even makes videos of him doing the problems in case you forget and need a reminder on how to do it. I 100% definitely recommend him!

Prof Mike is an amazing teacher. He is very nice and helps students whenever asked. The class isn't very hard but it can be easy to fall behind if you don't do the homework (which is optional) Im taking him again for 145. He's great, take him!

Mr. Mike Elmes is one of my favorite math teachers in college. He gave me so much advice on what to study and what not to study. This class was a tough class for me and I was so nervous to take this class. He was super nice to let me pass this class and I wish more teachers were like him. He is very kind about my future and my job after graduation.

I took his class for one day, unfortunately i found out that I didnt pass my other math class so I had to drop, but this professor was the only professor that really made math understandable, if he reads this I want to THANK YOU for only one day knowing you, you were the only professor that made me understand math so easily, please take him ASAP

Wow, Prof. Elmes is actually probably the best math prof. at Brookdale, and even probably in New Jersey. He is such a nice guy and actualy cares about how his students are doing. He always asks how everyones day is before class starts and makes sure to be attentive to students' opinions. I learned a lot this semester, Thanks so much prof. Elmes!

Professor Elmes is an exceptional math teacher - he explains concepts clearly and is always available to help. Lectures, videos, and Unstuck AI were huge assets for understanding the material. Though challenging, this class is worth taking.

Good Professor!

It's hard to fail a class when you have a professor this passionate about his job. Inspiration for many, explains everything so thoroughly and gives so many chances to succeed, and is joyful to answer your questions. From day one he said "make me earn my pay" which I find very rare in teachers now adays 5 stars, would take again.

Professor Elmes' online videos use the 2022 textbook, so be sure to print that edition. Some content is outdated, like references to a discontinued homework platform. However, he's quick to respond to emails and offers helpful Zoom sessions. Labs are easy, and test reviews are clear, with some cumulative questions on Test 3.

He's a good professor and cares about his students. There's textbook that I recommend you should buy it's about $20, you don't need it though. The work is what it is you just need to apply yourself and follow his lectures and all the videos. Homework isn't required/graded, you should probably do it or look at, I never did though..

The best math professor I have ever had. Such an amazing man, and understands that a lot of people in the class struggle with math. I have never been good at math, but this was by FAR the easiest math class I've ever taken. Overall a caring man and great professor.

Professor Elmes is incredibly caring and respectful of his students. He manages class time well and is very accessible outside of class. He also takes an interest in on-campus events and is valuable presence on Brookdale's campus.

Goat status if your bad at math he's definitely your guy. Very little homework outside a required department project or two. Very straight forward with what's going to be on the Exams. If you show up and pay attention in class you should have no problem passing his class.
