Very clear and precise. If you can take him i suggest do so. Even if you don't read the book you can understand what he is saying. Never boring. GREAT TEACHING. Taking him again.

I loved this class.He's easy going & helps u understand material through examples. His notes make up exams so u should go to class even though he doesn't take attendance. If u just go to class & take notes, u can not read anything from the text book & still pass the class w/ a "B".He also plays some clips from documentaries which help u understand.

Amazing professor. He makes me want to major in Economics. He makes class so interesting, I looked forward to going. If you take notes and come every day, the class should be a breeze. I wish he was my professor for every class! :)

Patrono is awesome, he makes wearing a pink shirt look cool. Classes are very interesting and interactive. Tests are multiple choice and he always adds extra points after each test just for the heck of it. I walked away with an A and never cracked open the book. I just went to class and enjoyed the lectures.

Great professor! Patrono makes things very clear and answers all questions in detail. He is very nice and makes class fun. He cracks jokes but stays focused and we cover a lot in each class. Attendance isn't mandatory but I suggest going to class because his lectures are very helpful.

Great Prof. The only drawbacks to his test is that he teaches from his notes and gets his questions from textbook test banks. Very easy to understand, and will help you understand any material. The class material is boring but he will keep you mildly interested with his off topic rants about government regulations.

Mr. Patrono is very clear about what he expects and wants from his students. his study guides are very helpful. His test are from his study guides. He has one hang up, DO NOT COME IN LATE he will embarase you. All lectures grade comes from 4 tests. 25% for each test goes toward your grade. Overall I would take his class again.

Patrono is EXTREMELY knowledgeable. He actually makes economics somewhat interesting by covering a lot of history. It's not a hard class, and he's really entertaining. It would be foolish not to take him, considering how ANNOYING the Econ requirement is and how GOOD he is. I actually learned stuff that I can apply, so it wasn't a total waste!

Made this general education class utterly painless. I had almost no interest in economics prior to taking this course, but this professor makes it not only interesting, but very clear. His tests are pretty easy as long as you pay attention in class. Funny guy, extremely intelligent, knows his subject inside and out. Recommended!

The first part of the semester you do some more technical aspects of economics (supply and demand graphs, etc) and then you move in to economic history. I am not a huge history person but Patrono made the topics interesting. Did not use the book much unless I missed a lecture. Gives study guides. Take him if you can!!

He's a really dynamic speaker, so he makes it an interesting class. The tests are hard, so make sure you study your notes, but you don't need to start reading the book until you get to commanding heights.

I loved this class! It was by far the most interesting class I have taken at KSU, I learned a lot! I didn't buy the text books, I just went to class everyday and took notes and got an A in this class. He is very intelligent and friendly. Just go to class everyday, listen, take notes and you will be just fine!

I have no interest in Econ, but Patrono made it easy to understand. Pretty much just take notes and you'll be fine. The tests aren't ridiculously hard, so as long as you actually go to class and take notes you'll do well!

Good professor. Make sure to take notes because he lectures on exactly what you need to know for the tests. He is clear, and doesn't mind explaining in more detail if you don't understand. His tests are easy if you have studied, and there are no trick questions. Four exams, that's it.

So Patrono is AMAZING.. I wish he was my prof. for all my classes. He is so into what he's teaching. There's basically no need for a book because I like never opened mine. If you come to the lectures your guaranteed an A+++ TAKE HIM!!

Nice teacher. Lecture and notes style class with 4 tests & no other assignments. Tests were pretty easy. Attendance is not required. Personally I found the lectures to be a little frustrating because he tends to go off topic; however, he only does that in an effort to help confused students understand the material.

I took this class online and got a B. You get two chances for quizzes with the 2 lowest quizzes dropped and 2 tests (mid term and final). He gives lectures online. Honestly I could have done better if I listened to the lectures but I didn't. I used the book and PPT for the quizzes and tests. Still easy though I just didn't put in the work.

Very professional. Explains the material in various ways that you don't even have to buy the book, just google the info. Wish he taught all the gen ed courses. Get to know him outside of class as well... interesting person, likes to talk about an abundance of topics.

A lot of people told me this professor was a must take, but I found him very boring. However, he did have moments of humor. I honestly think the material covered was fairly boring, so it wasn't bad. I took the honors, so all we had was 3 tests, 3 500 word essays over articles, and a final. He dropped the lowest test grade, and I made 98s.

He was an easy and clear teacher. Econ to me personally is boring, however, his tests were straight from the book, his lectures, and the study guides. I took the honors class and did very well in it. He is an amazing teacher and really fair.

He is a very good teacher as far as teaching. He gives a study guide before all the test and drops the lowest test score you receive. His Test were very tricky though. If you study very very hard you can pull out an A.

This professor is awesome. As long as you come to class take notes you can get an easy A in the class. He knows exactly what he is talking about and before each exam he gives a study guide which every thing that will be on that test. on top that he drops your lowest exam grade.

The class is useful in understanding the basics of how the economy functions. No graded homework or quizzes, however the quizzes posted on GeorgiaView are a sampling of the test questions. I would recommend taking the quizzes after comparing the class notes with the text. DO NOT COME TO CLASS LATE. He will call you out in front of the class!

He explains everything very clearly. Do the quizzes he posts on Vista - they will help you on the test. Overall, a very good teacher. One word of caution though - make sure you use a 'cover sheet' on your tests - or the guy may go into cardiac arrest.

He makes economics interesting. I highly recommend taking him in an honors class if you can because the smaller group makes the class more fun and personalized. He cares about his students and is a forgiving professor.

I really enjoy this class & it was easy. 3 tests, but drop the lowest out the 3 and then there is the final which was like a regular test, easy! So, overall you had 3 tests that counts as your final grade. The first test was hard, but it gets easier after the first test. Great teacher, just keep up with his notes. Easy class, love it!

Very easy professor, as long as you attend class and read lecture material you will be garunteed an A. The test are very straight forward and sometimes only require common sense to take. This class is great for people who both do not comprehend econ as easily and for the people who do.

Easy A, just make sure you study and attend class to take notes. 3 tests. No other work. He gives study guides for the tests. Econ is not my thing, but I managed to make an A in it. This class is really boring though. No point to buy the textbooks. I never bought them and I made an A. My friend bought hers and she didn't even open them once.

I took him Fall 2012 for ECON 2200. He's great; uses many practical real-world examples to explain concepts. Open to questions and goes step by step; will slow down if needed. 4 exams; lowest grade of first 3 exams is dropped. All that being said, this class is kind of difficult, so go to class EVERY DAY and study hard if you want to make a B.

Hands down one of the best teachers at KSU. He explains the material well and will answer any questions before moving on. He wants to make sure his students understand what he is teaching and will further explain if asked. The only grades are 3 tests and the final is another test that replaces a lowest test grade. YOU HAVE TO STUDY TO DO WELL!

Summer course: 3 tests, none dropped. EASY!!! The class average was always a "b" on the tests.I made 98's on the first 2 tests without opening the book. Class is not mandatory. But I would definitely recommend it because he focuses more in depth on certain issues. Also, If you have class notes you will ace the tests. Awesome professor and very nice

Best professor I've had thus far at KSU. He clearly knows what he's talking about and makes the material easy to understand. You get out what you put in. I highly recommend taking one of his classes if you have the opportunity!

I would recommend this professor in person, but online was tough. His voice started to put me to sleep a few times. And he over-used the term "by definition" which I seriously could have turned into a drinking game if I was a drinker and thought I could bribe some friends to listen to the lectures with me.

Mr Patrono is a great professor who lectures well and makes an outline of the notes on the board, but the course material is difficult if you do not review the additional information in your textbooks. READ. Mr Patrono is good though because he drops your lowest test, gives extra credit, and offers extra help after class.

I really like his class, but his handwriting is horrible. So if you can read horrible handwriting or can write/type fast as he's speaking, I would recommend his class.

He's really good at explaining things. However he writes all of his notes on a dry erase board. Find a good seat because it may take a few classes to get used to his handwriting. But don't let this discourage you! His class is definitely worth taking.

He is a great professor, knows what he is talking about. there are a total of 4 exams, 3 regular class exams and a final. the lowest of the 3 exams is dropped so in total your grade depends on 3 exams. 33% each exam. Professor Patrono was PHENOMENAL. going into this semester I was expecting economics to be boring, but he made it interesting and I never walked away from class confused. There are 4 tests that make up your grade throughout the semester. He gives you many opportunities for extra credit and will drop the lowest of the first three tests. All the extra credit given throughout the semester will be added to the final. The tests are tough, but if you study his practice quiz and read the chapter, it will be a breeze.

Professor Patrono's class is not hard if you study and watch the videos. His lectures were sometimes dry, but he tries to make them relatable and humorous. Patrono is an amazing Econ teacher. His lectures are interesting and he relates them to every day experiences. There are 4 tests but he drops the lowest grade. He gives the option to do extra credit .. it landed me 9 points extra on the last test grade. He provided a study guide-quiz for each chapter covered, which is almost identical to the test.

Only 4 tests for the whole semester, and he drops 1. His tests were based off of his online practice quizzes. He also gives many opportunities for extra credit, equating to up to 9 bonus points on his final. He knows what he's talking about and is very respectable. I'd take him again if his lectures weren't so boring.

I thought this class would be awful but I was wrong. Mr. Patrono is awesome. His lectures get the point across, and he's actually really funny. He sticks to the syllabus! Lowest test score is dropped, but the tests are easy if you study. If you don't show up, you won't do well, points off for each absence. Overall, I would definitely recommend him!

Take his class, period. His lectures make everything easy to understand. Personally, I skimmed through the book, didn't watch the videos, and I made a 100 on one of the tests and the final. Basically the only things we had to do were take weekly quizzes and then 2 tests. He explains everything very clearly in his powerpoints. If you listen to those and take notes you should be fine.

Patrono is passionate about economics. Makes complicated topics easy to learn during his lectures by giving relevant examples in our day to day lives. Easy about attendance, but lectures are extremely valuable & needed to pass with an AB.

If you are in 2100 you will have six grades, four tests and two papers. They are not that hard though, most people end up with a's or b's. He is an incredible teacher and he really knows what he is talking out. He also makes the lectures fun and interesting even if economics is not your major. If I could take the class again I definitely would.

Professor Patrono is hands down one of the best teachers/professors I have ever had. He not only made economics interesting, but he also made it easy. I passed with a 95 and actually understood the concepts all thanks to his teaching skills.

I took this class online in the summer of 16' and it was an easy A. there's a quiz every week and 2 tests, a final and a midterm. he drops the lowest 2 tests and gives a few points for extra credit, but you have to type long papers. He's a great prof who loves what he teaches, but he can be very rude if you make him mad, so pay attention in lecture. Only 4 tests, he drops the lowest grade. Grade is based off off 4 exams (and he drops the lowest one) so you have to know the material but his lectures are very helpful and understanding and he also gives you practice quizzes that are basically the exams.

EASIEST A. Only 3 tests and and one of them gets dropped. Study for only 2 tests and the class ends first week of March. And gives extra credit

He was funny, used good real life examples. He does offer extra credit, which is nice, but I didn't need it. Did enjoy his class, but not mandatory to go.

Patrono is a good choice, has 3 total tests. Lowest grade of first 2 tests gets dropped, so your grade is just 2 tests. The class is only like 10 weeks long, if its the 2 credit class. Gives extra credit films and lectures to go to that will add points to your final test grade. I went to 2 of them and I was able to boost my grade to an A

The textbook is required. He wrote it and it isn't returnable. It was $60 and frankly its littered with misspellings which is annoying for that price. The class is straightforward. It is just reading and quizzes. Somehow this is a required course even after taking the other econ2100 course. Its ok though, I learned a lot.

He gives out a couple of bonus credit opportunities. The lectures are boring sometimes, but fun once he goes on a tangent. I'd say that you don't have to go to class as long as you read and do the d2l practice quizzes. He doesn't clearly explain what he wants from the essay's until the first one is graded. Overall, a good choice.

Patrono does a good job of being upbeat and informative enough to make the lectures enjoyable, and yet structured enough to be very well tapered to the test material. I showed up to all my classes and got near 100%, without ever using the book. He answers questions straightforwardly, and makes this class interesting, even if you're not into econ.

I took his online class and passed it easily with an A. I started out reading the textbook, but he also posts slideshows for you to view and listen to, so I used those for most of the semester. Lots of quizzes with two dropped and two chances for extra credit.

Professor Patrono was a very easy class for me. Showed up to every class and did not really study outside of the class and finished with a 99. The inclass lectures are the same thing that are on the test. super easy and straightforward.

He's an amazing guy. Despite the fact that there are only two exams and one final, he provides lots of opportunities for you to gain extra credit points which are added to your final exam. You get out of the class what you put in it. Be sure to make use of his textbooks and study guides because those are the only things that will save your grade.

Only graded by two things (drops your lowest of the first two test) and then the final. He is very nice and explains things very well. Make sure to do the study guides and you should do well in the class.

Although I do find his lectures a bit repetitive and boring sometimes, he is a good teacher to have. As long as you go to class and pay attention, you will make A's on the exam. I didn't even have to buy the book.

Your grade depends on 3 exams. Take notes on his ppt. during lectures, they'll help you study for the exams. If you do decide to skip then just do his study guides and read the text to get a decent grade on the exam. He give out a decent amount of extra credit to help boost your grade and isn't monotonous which helps a lot in the morning.

We only had three tests and they made up the grades for the course. I showed up to class three times (to take the tests) and I got a high B. detailed study guides which comprise the tests and he responds to emails. I copy and pasted questions from the study guide that I didn't understand and emailed them to him and he answered them all.

This class is the best class to take for Econ 1000! You do only have 3 tests for your grade, but that is the case across all Econ 1000 classes at KSU. His lectures are actually really good and he is not boring at all. He likes engaging the class and makes econ and easy to understand subject. I took this as a summer class. This class consisted of 3 test and a quiz for every chapter. The third counting as the final. He drops the lowest grade out of the first two test. He drops the lowest 2 quiz grades. As long as you listen to lectures and do the study guides he provides you will pass.

Mr. Patrono really makes lectures interesting. Through his different examples he really makes things understandable. Quizzes are pretty straightened if you make sure to listen to lecture or do study guide. Drops lowest two which is always helpful.

He is a great professor, but if you want to leave early, don't take him. He likes to run over. The one time he "let us out early", it was by three minutes. The most he ran over was about nine minutes. He does a lot of class discussion, and he gives extra credit opportunities. He likes to go on tangents (which is why he runs over).

He is the only professor I've ever had at KSU that didn't feel the need to indoctrinate me into his ideology. He gave enthusiastic lectures about important topics and left us with the opportunity to make clear and rational conclusions free of any bias. Taking his class is a real breath of fresh air, and I cannot recommend him enough.

I'm not a social studies person, hence why I got a B but his lectures weren't hard to follow since they arent premade Powerpoints. He uses student examples and has a good sense of humor so his lectures shouldn't put you to sleep. There are tons of extra credit opportunities even though I couldn't make any due to scheduling conflicts.

I would definitely take him for econ. There were only a few test and the final was its own single unit. His lectures are really interesting, and it really makes you think about the world differently. He is also always willing to help you.

It wasn't a very difficult class. Grades are just quizzes with a few extra credit opportunities (essays). As long as you listen to the lectures and read the assigned chapters then the quizzes should be fairly easy. The lectures are easy to follow and the professor obviously cares about what he is teaching.

The power point lectures were very helpful. Don't rely solely on those for the quizzes and tests. Questions really make sure you can apply the concept. Text book was painfully boring to read. You need both lectures and the book for this course. Not many grades, but does offer extra credit and drops one of the tests.

i had him for online summer econ. he uploads voice-over PPT lectures and he explains the topics really well. my dad overheard a lecture and said that it was the best explanation of the federal reserve he had ever heard! he gives 2 extra credits. tests are NOT cumulative. overall this is very manageable if you work during the summer like me 10/10!

I had this professor during the 2020 covid semester, and he taught the class with more competency then any of my other professors. My experience with the class was very straightforward, watch the very easy to follow narrated powerpoints, if I felt like it maybe read a chapter from the book, and take a weekly quiz or test, all open book. 10/10.

This ended up being essentially an async class because of COVID. Quizzes and tests are noncumulative and open note. Just read the chapter beforehand.

I feel like if this were an in-person class and not an online class due to COVID, I'd enjoy it a lot more. That being said, Dr Patrono is a solid professor and person who knows how to explain concepts well. This professor taught the minimester ECON 1000 course. Being that this class is only 2 weeks, he teaches it amazingly well. All the content he went over, he went over in depth with a lot of fun examples. You might get bored in class if you understand the content immediately, but it was a fun experience overall and an impossibly easy credit!

Great teacher. Horribly tricky tests. He explains the information in a way where you are 100% sure you know it, then gives a multiple choice question where all 4 answers could reasonably be correct and you have to guess which one actually is. My quiz grades ranged from 100 to 73 because of these types of questions.

Great Professor. Provides you with all the material needed to study if you dont go to class. As long as you read each chapter, go over the narrated power point, and do the study guide, youll succeed with at least a B+

Professor Patrono tries to make the class entertaining . In his class, he basically goes over one chapter per week and there's 11 quizes. One per chapter that are due at the end of each week. I took this class 100% online, which I highly reccomend. If i'm being honest, I didn't listen to a single lecture (if he had any). The only time I heard him talk was a "good luck in college" message the last day of the class. Understand, and be able to apply concepts assigned in the text book and you're golden.

Patrono is a very funny man. Great at explaining topics and making small connections with students. Sometimes he can say mildly offensive things, but I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Weekly quizzes and only two tests so make at least one of them count. He drops the lowest one, you have to take the final though.

He is a very good lecturer, very engaging. He does have a preference towards a certain economic system and he makes that clear, but he still teaches the pros and cons of others. I enjoyed his class and I would recommend him for anyone, the content is very easy and he gives good examples. He does say out of pocket things sometimes, but not too bad.

The class is easy if you actually study for the tests, so many people don't study and then complain. Use the study guides and practice tests. Lectures were ok he was kinda weird with his examples sometimes (if you are a girl in stem or nursing he will always use you as examples in scenarios.) you can skip and not miss anything he posts everything.

Overall a good professor. I took this class during the summer semester and it was an online class. Lectures tended to be long. Tests were a bit difficult but if you studied well you would be fine. I don't understand how people could have failed if they went to class and took notes. The content is 90% the same as my high school econ class with a bit of expansions on some of the topics. He tests on overall concepts with the most important ones having multiple questions. He uses lots of examples in class and can be pretty funny.

This class consists of weekly readings and quizzes. There are 4 exams total with one being the final. He drops your lowest exam (except the final which is mandatory) and your lowest quiz grade. He also curves the exams (around 10-15 points I believe). If you study the lecture slides as well as the practice questions you can do fine in this class.

Other reviews some him up very well. His lectures are great and the tests are curved. Best three of the four tests are 75% of the grade, while chapter quizzes are the other 25%.

This professor was very easy, I passed this class without any issues. The only work expected from you I a weekly quiz and then there are 4 tests, and your lowest grade gets dropped. Professor Patrono's ECON1000 class is a breeze. With dropped tests, optional attendance, and helpful online resources like the recorded lectures, it's easy to succeed. Unstuck study AI is a great addition to the mix along with the free textbook.

I took him for both ECON 1000 and ECON 1100. He is a GREAT prof. His lectures are fun and enjoyable. He records the lectures so you can review them latter and while he won't just give you the A he makes it as straight forward as possible to get a good grade.

You can always watch his narrated lectures online if you miss class, and he is very accommodating. There's also plenty of extra credit if you need. (Class is 10 weeks btw).

I took Dr. Patrono for Honors ECON1000, and he was amazing! We only had 3 straightforward tests, one being the final, which was not cumulative. There were also online D2L quizzes for each chapter and two essays (500 words) specifically for the honors section. He tends to talk a lot, but all resources are online, so it's very easy to pass!

A pretty great professor in my opinion. He not only provides many resources for the class (powerpoints, an online textbook, study guides, etc) but he also supports his topics with real-life examples which is helpful. The homework is super easy and open note. The exams are tougher, but not impossible to get high grades on as long as you study.

He was a good professor but I find Econ to be a very hard subject to learn. graded by 3/4 Exams 75% drops your lowest one except for the final exam and 20/21 quizzes 25% drop your lowest quiz. If it were less exam and quiz heavy It would be better.

Professor Patrono has true vocational skills for this subject. His lectures are very helpful and he is also very fair. Weekly assignments, extra credit assignments, and couple exams which are not lockdown. Take him, he is legit and really care about his students. Textbook is not required which is a plus for me.

I absolutely love Patrono; he is my favorite professor. He cares about you and does his best to help you succeed. Showing up and talking to him matters. The more he knows you and sees you trying to succeed, the more he'll help. The tests can be hard, but he curves them. Study the practice questions, and you should pass every test.

Professor Patrono uses a textbook and has pre-recorded video lectures for students to watch. Exams and quizzes are all open note, but are timed. It's also my understanding that he has video lectures for his in-person classes as well. He also provides practice quiz questions on D2L and gets back to you within a reasonable amount of time via email.

This professor was great! I took his fall online course, and you really only need to watch his lectures to succeed; no extensive reading is required. He is probably the best econ professor I have taken. The class is lecture heavy but he explains the material in a way that is comprehensible even for people who may struggle in Econ. The test are easy if you study and even though you dont have to use the book, it helps a lot while preparing for exams.

Class runs half a semester with weekly open-note quizzes and 3 exams (final included). Lowest quiz/exam score is dropped except the final. Lectures are worth attending—very helpful for exams and engaging thanks to his interaction. Tip: save quizzes to build Quizlets for studying; I learned this hack after the final sadly.
