super smart but funny. he truly cares about his students; we went to the opera, saw plays, and read good books. since i am a Japanese transfer student, he truly accomodated my interests and needs.
he rocks. he is so entertaining. id go to class just to be entertained. seriously its the most fun class ever. theres cartoons!
he is a weirdo. people usually dont know what to do during his class. his class is easy just turn in every homework he asks for and try to attend every single class...dont like him
top 5 best teachers I have ever had...
I love him...The class isn't very challenging if you are a decent writer but he is very funny and really cares about his students. I would take every eng. and humanities class from him if I could!!! Lots of wonderful discussions about controversial and current events.
Dr. Faucette is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Instead of teaching out of the textbook you read amazing(and short) novels along with interesting videos, projects, and lectures. He has a great sense of humor and will have your whole class laughing almost everyday. From what I've gathered from those in my class, he gave us all 4.0s, haha!
4.0 class!
He is the best teacher ever!I love the way he teaches! His class is really easy and it is soo much fun!You should definitely take this class!=)
He is the worst teacher that i've ever had before. his grades depend mostly, no, totally on his preference. Unfair class.
I have a serious advice for you guys. Dr. Faucette is an unconscious person that i've ever met before, oh my god. He never lets his students know their grades. Thus, this causes a lot of unfair things to many assiduous or diligent students. I strongly recommend that you should his class as soon as possible. I honestly tell you guys. Belive or not,i
i got an A+ from his HUM 105 class easily. However, i don't like his teaching style. he's weird. if u want to gain some knowledge, u should not take his class. i honestly tell you guys.
i absolutely argree with you guys about his unfairness affecting on many deligent studens.
hey engl 101 guys! you have same opinion with me! why didn't you tell me about your opinion to me, then we could boycott his class. ha. i really hate this class even now. i don't care i got good gread or not. i wanted to learn something however i couldn't get anything from this class. ha! how awful class was!
He's not good at all!
Much madness is divinest Sense To the discerning Eye?
**** it, yo!
He is very UNFAIR. Class is very boring. totally should not take his class.
Horrible, horrible teacher. Unclear about assignments and due dates. He appears to try and waste as much class time as possible. He gives no feedback whatsoever and won't respond to e-mails. I received a 2.8 despite turning in every assignment and being in class almost every day, so I have to assume he uses fairly arbitrary grading.
Dr Faucette is a great professor, his class was fun and informative. His teaching style is superb; not only will you enjoy his class, but you will actually make an effort attend every class given the fact that every day has something new and exciting. If you enjoy learning and are a hard worker I highly recommend Dr Faucette.
This professor can teach you a lot. But you have to know how, you can learn a lot from him if you pay attention and read the book he appointed. Actually the book he recommend are awesome, except The House On The Mango Street.
Whoever rated him good would have only same reason that he gave them surprising good gpa without asking them SERIOUS attention in his class. Honestly, his lectures are always weird and useless. You dont need to finished his books to do the exercises (cause he never reads them and care about the quality). Pretend to pay attention and you'll get A+
TOTALLY NOT FAIR AT GRADING!!!!!!!!! I WENT TO CLASS EVERYDAY AND TURN IN EVERY ASSIGNMENT BUT I ONLY GOT 2.6. DONT TAKE HIS CLASS!
Do not, I repeat, do not waste your time. If you want to hear the same repetative, rambling, pointless, self-centric, unintellectual "lectures" that this man gives, go for it. Just don't expect to get -any- of your work returned to you with -any- feedback whatsoever. How is an instructor even allowed to do this? Does he even read them? Doubt it.
i never met any one can be that horiable like him. you can get a good grade even though you don't show off in class or turn in hw. the only thing you need to do is pretend that you adore him a lot and respect him. if he likes you ,then you got it. otherwise you don't need to have any adoubt about your grade, cos he is never fair!
First off if you read everyone elses comments you'll see how stupid most of them really are. This may have been why they had a tough time in his class. Remember this is college. Dr. Faucette is a good teacher and opened my mind. If you want to improve in writing, reading, or just life, challenge yourself by taking one of his classes. Rap name?
great teacher! u will learn a lot in his classes. his grades are very fair and you can talk to him when ever u want. didnt have ONE problem with him. no midterm, no final exam. just essays and a lot of books to read. thats it!! great class and teacher- he has a great humor! take his class, u wont regret it
very ridiculous teacher.... he doesnt give us a fair grade... i strongly recommend you to not take his class!!
old school but cool. pay attention and be active in his class you will get an A for sure. He's very kind and funny.
at first I was uncomfortable with the idea of taking humanities. but Dr. Faucette's lectures made the class fun and engaging. The oral presentations were a bit tough, but overall I enjoyed the class greatly. Dr. Faucette is an interesting prof, he offers a lot of insights on culture, stereotypes and human behavior.
He frightened me the first day of class but has since grown on me, largely because he's hilarious. He can be a bit vague at times, but when asked a question always gives an intelligent, thoughtful reply. Keep in mind his boundaries. Don't call him Michael. Don't make snide comments in class. Show up, participate, and you'll do fine.
cool guy. I got lost in the class. He is somewhat intimidating. seems very helpful if you approach him but you HAVE to approach him.
omg and lol at everyone who thinks that Dr. Faucette is scary. He is the most helpful person. He loves talking to his students and knows a lot about the world. You should take a class with him in the future.
If you can handle pretentiousness then he's okay. He's slightly intimidating and you got the feeling that he has a superiority complex. He kicked a student out for not calling him Dr. Faucette and called security on another guy for asking about some quiz he didn't get. He also isn't always clear about what he wants on writing assignments.
Doctor Faucette changed my life. Never in the world of academia (community college or otherwise) have I met a professor as caring, brilliant, and compassionate as Doctor Faucette. I can not recommend him more. If grades and certainties about papers are your bag, than he obviously is not for you, but if you seek an intellectual challenge, go for it.
He's actually pretty cool!
I think he hated teaching a 101 class. Outside of that he was awesome. Very helpful. I'm taking a class with him next quarter even I liked him that much.
he is the worst teacher of all.. he is useless and am pissed of that i wasted my time in his class.. the worst teacher ever don't take his class expect to fail. i hope he get fired worst teacher ever :( :(.. while in class i hate listen to his corny jokes. loser
Faucette is single handedly the worst teacher I've ever had. I learned more in the first week of eng 102 than in the entire quarter of his class. I heard that he really despises having to teach 101 because humanities is what he likes teaching, but if I'M stuck taking 101 and he is stuck teaching it - he could at least be courteous and informative. In fact, he is the opposite. Rude, unkind, sarcastic and unfair. I am in the honors society; still gave me a bad grade. That says something.
the worst teacher i ever had, unhelpful, rude, always pretend to be cool, very diffucult to communicate with could not learn anything from his class and very unpredictable
Definitely plays favorites in class and is very biased. Make sure you're on his good side! Another neg. is that he's slow with getting work back and may never give you your work back so you can't confirm you deserved the grade you got.
worst teacher i have met in my whole life!!don't take his class! he's not cool but freak.Always list lot of rules there letting students to obey. he emphasizes much on respect but he doesn't know how to respect a person at least. he is so biased and pretent he knows everything. i have enough of him, don't want to waste my time anymore!!!
i thought he was cool and he had a funny personality but he is SO UNFAIR AT GRADING IT IS NOT EVEN FUNNY. i thought i was doing soo well and was consistent in my attendance. i am in running start and was expecting a good grade for my college applications, but i was wrong. he ruined my gpa
Dr. Faucette is one of a fading breed of educators that relies upon comprehension of the subject matter as opposed to arbitrary tests and rote memorization of facts. He is a kind man who supplies his students with the confidence to question and investigate preconceived prejudicial views about others. He is a genuine professor.
If you want a challenging experience that will help you grow as a student take this class. You must be serious as a student though
The absolute greatest instructor I have ever had the chance to learn from. His view, his knoweledge, his wisdom, and respect for all is unsurpassable in this school. Dr. Faucette is of the elite. Take any one of his classes from English to Humanities. I guarantee you will be challenged and enriched.
He is the best teacher I've ever had. He always care how students learn. Even after class, he is very friendly teacher. Thanks Dr.Faucette.
Dr. Faucette seems to confuse ENGL&101 sociology. If you disagree with any of his view on life or society, you are WRONG. His views are the 'truth' and you are simply refusing to see it. His idea of a discussion is to make an insulting ad hominem attack and cut you off. No one in class seems to have a clear idea what we are supposed to be doing.
Perhaps I would be happier if I had expected/prepared for a Social Science Class or ENG 263 (The Bible as Literature). This class is neither of those things. Seems LITERATURE STUDIES: SCIENCE FICTION, is mostly a chance to use science fiction titles to talk to a class about social issues in the same way as any humanities/social science class
I feel like he does not respect student opinions if they differ from his own and if choose to express yourself contradictorily to him your grade will suffer. I've taken time out of my day to speak with him and got no help, he thumbed trough a magazine the whole time.
Best teacher ever
Amazing teacher. Extremely strict though. Expects the utmost respect and will ask students to leave the classroom if he doesn't get it. VERY knowledgeable and awesome lecture. Just do everything he asks and you will pass.
Ok,Dr. Faucette's class seems hard at first and it is for the first couple of weeks. Then he starts the ease up quite a bit. He has you write a few papers at first and read a few short novels. Towards the last half of the quarter it was generally class discussions on a book and a group project. Basically hard at first, then smooth sailing after.
Never received a graded paper back was unclear of my grade the whole quarter and was shocked with my grade. Never know what to expect and would NOT recommend.
Amazing teacher. Has great ideals that will blow your mind. If you like very structured formal classes, dont take this one. Its almost like a seminar class where he talks and everyone else can comment as well. Lots of class discussions. You will learn a lot of very interesting stuff. Great elective class, thats easy if you need one!
Horrible Teacher!!! He doesnt tell you your grade ever you just end up seeing it on your transcript. I did EVERY assignment and he didn't say i did much wrong but gave me a 2.4. Hes a smart guy but his class is mostly a lecture learning class becasue you learn from his lecture which are funny and interesting but he is a bad teacher and hard grader
Dr. Faucette is a terrible teacher who berates and talks down to his students to make himself sound smarter. No one in our class has a clue what is going on and his lectures always go off on tangents and have little to nothing to do with the subject of the class or our reading. He daily makes generalizations about how ALL American students are lazy.
Dr. Faucette is an absolutely horrible teacher. He is very vague and ambiguous. You turn in work and he never gives it back graded... so you never know how you are really doing in his class. He called us in half way through the quarter and told us that we were doing great in the class... then failed half of us. It turned into a ethnic studies class
Dr. Faucette's class was a joke. He'll tell you that you're doing great at your "mid-term meeting" and then fail you in the end. If you have already signed up for his class I suggest you drop it and find a new teacher. Take Kelsey Tyler for HUM105. She is a much better teacher.
I wish that I never taken this class. I asked for help many times, and the teacher never gave it to me. Actually, any time I raised my hand he never called on me either, even after clearly seeing my interest. He raves about how Americans are terrible every day. Not many GLBTQ discussion at all. I didn't sign up for that. Don't take this class...
Dr. Faucette is the most brilliant person I ve ever met. He is a really good teacher and you can learn a lot from him. He demands a lot of effort and work, but he is fair. If you work hard you will get a good grade, but this class is more than just grades, he teach you to think outside the box. He demands respect for everybody.
He is very analytical with society, not just American. His premises are to think critically for yourself and respect others, African American, American, Latino, Asian, gay, lesbian. the teacher is the most open-minded and revolutionary I've ever met, I wish more people would think like him. Best teacher ever!
He really care about his students and he is very helpful if you asking him. Great teacher!
Great teacher, for smart students who really want to learn a lot.
Having Dr. Faucette as a teacher is a privilege. He is extremely smart, and teaches his classes like no other teacher. He demands a lot of work, but try your best, turn in every assignment, and ask for help, and you'll do good. You'll learn more from Dr. Facuette than any other teacher, do not take him if you don't take school seriously.
Dr. Faucette is an amazing professor! He challenges you to think beyond the "usual". He will teach you to read, write and think critically! Great educator!!!! All the hard work DOES payoff! Plus, a man that intelligent...h-o-t!!!!
The best teacher Ever!
He is not clear with his assignments, I had to ask many times in order to understand what the assignment is. He assigns a lot of writing with confusing topics. but he is really funny. he loves zeros
He is so hilarious. He really cares about his students. but you have to work hard. if you want an easy class, this isnt it. but if you want to learn lots, take his class. HE'S THE BESTTTTTT
If you want to get some real good education from a instructor who is funny, extremely helpful and super cool, than this prof is your man!
After one quarter with Dr. Faucette as instructor, you can be sure that you met a prof that is always friendly, funny, helpful and interesting. You will learn a lot!
I took english 101 and 102 with Dr Faucette. He's tough on his students, and expect alot, but if you work hard, you will learn alot in his classes. He's hilarious and has ridiculous stories. Love this class. Favourite teacher at Central. Most students hate him but he's awesome lol
Dr. Faucette is charming and intimidating. He can be confrontational and vague but, he is an interesting teacher. He will challenge your preconceived notions and reward your open mindedness. Pay attention to everything that he says.
Dr. Faucette is a wonderful human being. The knowledge he gives to his students is greatly needed. Yes he's intimidating but never anything you can't handle. He wants all of his students to succeed. His humanities class for me was always fun and exciting. I loved it. I made friends and I made a friend with my teacher. Something that's rare.
If you take English 101, he has you write a lot, like 2 essays a week plus other assignments. You dont have a final but you have to write a 20 page paper 1.5 spaced with a bibliography that has to have every single assignment you had that quarter cited. His class is pretty difficult and you dont learn that much but at least he's pretty funny...
I have taken his 101 and 102 classes and I totally regret it. This guy makes it too difficult to learn English. He is not clear on the assignment or what he want you to do in a specific activity. He collects the weekly essays without returning it to check your mistakes and negatives in writing. I would not recommend this teacher to a friend.
This guy does not play. H emakes it seem like your passing, but at the end fails you. His funny and teaches you alot, but I would not suggest him.
If you're a sensitive American who doesn't like being told the truth about you--which is true most of the time--then don't take this class. If you're lazy, don't even. Dr.Faucette has helped me improve my writing skills A LOT. There are some "easy" teachers at this school who will pass you, yet the student can't even write a good proper essay -.-
Best teacher I have ever had. Such an educated man. It has been a privilege having him as a teacher.
Dr. Faucette has been an amazing teacher. I have learned so much from one quarter. He makes an effort to make sure students learn. He is extremely nice and generous. He teaches you to challenge assumptions. He is a phenomenal teacher, and I recommend that everyone take his class.
He is such a wonderful man.I have learned a lot from his class. He is nice and cares about everyone.I am an international student, and I highly recommend you to take him if you really want to learn.
his class is very interesting and fun. Also, informative and beneficial for advance class. The disadvantages are he rarely give back the assignments, and not easy grade.
If you are interested in learning a lot and working hard for your grade, take this class. If you don't care and want an easy A, choose a different professor. Dr. Faucette is an outstanding professor and his class was one of my favorites.
I learnt nothing from his class. He never gives back the assignment and you will never know how you fare in class. Not really clear on what he wants for the assignment.
He is the best teacher that I have never have before. He is helpful, he is your friend, family and grandfather. He is beautiful and sexy! ha I strongly recommend you take his class.
He is very hard to please. If you want to pass, work your ass off.
although he said he gave us 0 in daily assignments, he just counts the seminar papers and reflection ones. He is cool btw. Talk to him frequently and participate so you could get good grades.
Oh sweet revenge, it's my turn to grade professor Faucette! I am a 3.9 student, and I got a 3.1 in Faucette's class. The best reason I could tell for this was because I am a woman. Not kidding. He rarely calls on women in class, and seems to even despise women openly. I did all the work and showed up for every single class and got a 3.1. Avoid him!
I loved this class. Dr. Faucett comes across a little tough but he is an amazing teacher who genuinely cares about his student's education. He is very intelligent and interesting. He sometimes said things that others may not have wanted to hear, but that was one of my favorite things about his teaching style, he makes you question things.
Dr. The faucet is one of the most knowledgeable professors I ever have had! At the beginning, you may feel confused about his and assignments. But DO NOT therefore drop this class. After a week, you will know assignments clearly and realize he is so kind. Do all assignments and think critically, you will be easy to get high grades. Highly recommend!
The case with this faucette is a matter of ego. If you can't deal with a man acting as the most knowledgeable person on this earth then drop your class. He'll always ditch you even when having an appointment. last appointment I had, he stupidly said "I gotta go talk to me after class". Attendance? You'll be marked absent even if you were there lol
I took Eng 101 last Spring with Dr. Faucette; It was the best English class I've ever had. This class is incredibly HARD and you should expect a solid workload; but if you go to class and follow through you will learn a ton in this class. Recommended for students who are planning on going somewhere in life, scholars and highly motivated individuals
Do your homework. Don't miss class. Don't be late. Greet Dr. Faucette when you see him. Speak up when he asks questions. And you'll be just fine. I got a 4.0 and this was one of my very favorite classes. Dr. Faucette is a great professor and deserves more recognition. He will challenge you to think more. And he's beautiful.
Dr, Faucette is a teacher who makes you question everything about yourself and what you believe. He makes you examine your own life and tells it how it is. He gives amazing books to read, and expects you to participate in your own education. One of the best teachers I have ever had. I f you are a serious student he is a teacher for you.
YOU NEED A 98% TO GET A 4.0 IN HIS CLASS. 96% and 97% is a 3.9. If a 4.0 is important to you, maybe steer clear. He's definitely interesting, but he's pretty hard on his students and doesn't give much feedback on your work or where you stand grade wise. He talks mostly about racism and humanities rather than English. I liked it, but ruined my 4.0.
DR. Faucette he knows how to teach humanities, but in his class, never expect to see your grade untill the last day of the quarter, He doesnt use canvas which is ridiculous. i never missed a single day in his class, i turned in every single assignment, and i couldn't know my grade untill the last day. And i got D+. my advice to you!!! dont take
Such a bad teacher i have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!! No feedback on assignments, No feedback on tests, you will never know what your grade is until the final day of the quarter. Horrible teacher please don't take his class, if you care about your grades.
I am a person that is a little older and gives true feed back before grades are posted to give a clear view on how i felt my teacher's performance. Dr Faucette is a great teacher, I would recommend this class to anyone who is serious on showing up everyday and putting a effort upfront. If you are a good student and show respect, you will pass.
Alright, the guy knows his stuff. He's very smart and well established. HE EXPECTS WORK TO BE DONE. A great teacher and honestly, he made me become a good student. He's funny, he is THE TRUTH. Honestly, I'm glad I took his class and I am currently taking his 102 class. If you want to develop character and personality, being the best person. Him
Somewhat old fashioned, holds his students to a higher adult standard. My main complaint is that he has only handed back grades for two assignments for the entire quarter. No idea what my grade will be.
Dr. faucette is such an amazing professor, although sometimes he is annoying. If you want to get higher score in his class, try to make him remember your name and talk a lot in class. Moreover, at the beginning of the quarter, he will say he will give you zero, if you do not answer his question; however, he just want to scare you.
He doesn't have professors behavior, if you schedule an appointment with him to talk about your grade he will never show up, he doesn't give feedback up-to final day, He don't use canvas, talk about racist stuff in his class, his lecture is not on point, he don't respect class time, office time, he likes to come late every morning. stay away
One bad apple spoil the whole bunch, basically that is how this professor is, He is spoiling the whole Seattle central community college. although i got 3.3 in his class but i don't have a single respect for him, not a good person in general, racist, don't show up on time during class, i believe that he don't read student papers. don't take him.
This was the worst teacher i have ever had. No feedback, NO canvas, his lecture are not on point. every morning new chapter about people around the world that have nothing to do with ENG, i tried to schedule an appointment with him but never showed up, awful. avoid him.
Absolutely awful, this is not how professor should be doing things at school, don't take his class, He is so lair
I love this professor even though his class is kinda hard
I agree that getting higher grades is kinda hard in this class, but if u impress him, u will get higher grades such as 3.8 or upper 3.8
His lecture is about people on streets of seattle every morning, i have no idea what i learned from his class the entire quarter, no feedback on assignments, no feedback on quiz, he doesn't use canvas i got 3.4, i believe i should get more than that. he doesnt like students who give him hard time by asking what they have in class so far, stay away.
Dr. Faucette has been my favorite teacher at SCC so far. He may seem intimidating at the beginning of the quarter, but he is not that difficult! As long as you attend class and listen to him carefully you will be fine. He teaches very interesting lessons. Fill out your journal and follow his instructions and you can get a good score in his class.
He was a decent professor, he knows the content, but would often go off on tangents that took up quality class time. You will not get feedback & when you ask questions he often goes about answering them in a round about way. I enjoyed the books he picked for reading assignments, but I do wish he wouldn't let his views take up so much class time.
Extremely not recommend for those who don't really want to study. Overall, he is amazing.
Faucette is a wise man. If you want to see things through his eyes, take his class. Although, you will need to be prepared for discomfort (especially if you are white). Race and other social issues are openly and heavily discussed. Taking this class is good for you: he will alter your beliefs and perhaps shape you into a more well-rounded person.
He's a hardass but I have learned so much in this class. If you're in it for credit, don't even bother taking his class. To succeed you have to want to learn. Be warned! He puts on a scary front but he's sweet. I've taken him for two quarters and have learned a lot.
His discussion does not match with Humanity class. His behavior through students is not good. There is nothing to learn from his class. If you take his class, your GPA will ruined. Just do not take his class.
Dr. Faucette is well-known for being harsh with grading, but he does this because he genuinely cares about his students. If you show up to his class prepared, take diligent notes, stay engaged, contribute to the discussion, and give your best effort everyday: you will learn a lot from attending his class.
Although I took Humanity class with him, our class was mostly about cultural exchange. It was a great to discuss about culture because we were so diverse class. He has knowledge, cares about students, and respects those differences we have among cultures. He made me think about cultural diversity and differences.
Recommend you to take his HUM 105. If you follow what he said, you will get at least 3.8. But DO NOT take his English classes.
If you don't like working hard then you will perform poorly. All of the negative comments posted here are by lazy students. Great instructor and inspirational.
I enrolled in his English 101 class. After the first 3 days & the total of 9 assignments due, I decided that his English 101 class as well as his teaching methods "wasn't for me". His syllabus was unnecessarily long (21 pages), & his teaching style suggests that he has absolutely no interest in the students whatsoever. DROP IT WHILE YOU CAN!!!
I don't want to talk more about this professor because most of things have already being said. he doesn't use canvas, no feedback on any assignments, quizes, finals untill the last grade is posted. i believe he doesn't care about students assignments. not sure if he reads assignments. stay away! stay away!
jesus! this guy is not a good teacher. i Never had any feedback from his class. his office hours can be anywhere. he is not a good teacher, never gives fair grades i dont know why. he doesnt respect students. take him for your own risk. avoid him.
I have to say Dr. Faucette is very knowledge and humor person but he's class is difficult. His class is interesting. But I think the hard thing is he doesn't have a clear list or direction to followed. You need to check the homework in e-mail which he will send once per week and if you not positively in his class you will get low GPA.
If u take his class, u will have a lot of assignments and a lot of reading. He is amazing and really care about his students.
OMg :) That's a good professor I never know :) be careful guys. He's so nervous but sometime so happy.
I had him for Hum 105. He is a very intelligent individual, and is a great lecturer. However, he gives ZERO feedback, gives minimal instruction of his expectations of assignments, does not return completed assignments, and does not post grades on completed assignments. I would not recommend taking his class to anyone.
I ended up retaking english 101 because i didn't studied so much in his class. His class is challenging but his lecture itself is really good quality, i transferred to 4 year university and I realized he was the real gem at community college. I wish he teaches at UW! You will learn a lot
the easiest teacher i have ever met. He dose not care how well you work on the homework. the only thing he cares is how grow you are as a writer. Ready to take risk and participate actively in his class, you will get A+. Also, It is okay if you submit the works late.
Take his class and you will regret. I have a 4.0 at the moment thanks to dropping his class.
It was an very exceptional class. There is a lot of work to do, but if you're willing to put in the work the class is good for you.
Listen, he is lost on many, I understand that. But Dr. Faucette has taught me more than any teacher/professor about American culture, about life, perspective, writing, literature, critical thinking. He is a soft man... and incredibly wise. Yes, he can be tough, but listen actively and do your work to the best of your ability and it will wonderful
You'll lean a lot more than English if you take a class with him. Thanks to this class I feel a lot more confident with my writing. I haven't speak English for many year so this class was very challenging, but it was a great experience. He is very kind and respectful as long as you are too. Stay on top of the assignment of you'll fall behind.
Do not take his class because he will give you over 5 assignments per week and their too much. But if you like that then go for it. But its not a class I would take with him ever again or recommend
If you're even one minute late submitting homework it's an automatic zero, and he won't even give you feedback on it. He's passive aggressive, pompous, and rude. He preaches extensive and correct usage of grammar, yet all of his assignments, lectures, and announcements have grammatical errors in them. If you value your sanity don't take this class.
he gives too much homework and he doesnt know how to spell but he takes off points if we spell or get anything wrong.
for being an English teacher, he seems to have a very poor understanding of the language. regularly, his assignments are misspelled and unclear. his syllabus features paragraphs that are copy and pasted several times, making it even more unclear.
Please, do not take his class. I have been studying at Seattle Central for almost 1 year and I took his hybrid class in my first quarter. He doesn't give you proper feedback and it's really confusing. Every instruction is unclear and I felt like I was taking humanity class instead of English. Please, find better faculty in Seattle Central!!
I have no words to describe how hard this class was for me. I stg he assigned 10 assignments per week and 1. he didnt grade some of them, 2. doesnt give feedback and if he does it makes NO SENSE, 3. he doesnt respond to emails or questions even though he always says to ask questions. There isnt enough room for me to list all the flaws in this class
I was unable to access canvas for 2 days because of a school error and ending up missing SEVERAL assignment deadlines. He gives a ridiculous amount multiple of reading and writing assignments that would be due every other day and you're lucky if you're allowed to submit it a minute late. Also, gives terrible and confusing feedback, if any.
his feedback (if he gives it) is horrible. really hard to contact and his assignments are so confusing that he often has to send out notes saying that students "aren't understanding the assignment" even though it is his fault with the way he words it.
Faucette is the worst teacher I have ever had in my life. He's so bad that I had to drop out of the class, and that is something I have never done because im a straight A student. He doesn't give any feedback at all. He gave 0's if you make the smallest error even though he makes errors all the time in his instructions. don't take this awful class.
He doesnt assign lots or hard work, though he is impossible to communicate with. Hes not clear with his instructions yet will mark you for 0 points if you screw up the smallest thing. He only gives class feedback none personal. He takes forever to grade things. If u need help in this class, hell tell u to go to Purdue owl, no other help from him
he is a horrible communication and will give you a 0 if you mess up on one small thing. his instructions are so, so bad and when you message him they dont get any better. dont take this class.
The class assignments were pretty easy, but you'll have to ask for help, he does not give proper instructions. It takes a few days for him to reply to e-mails. He does not grade all the assignments or give good feedback. He will give you a few 0's if he feels like it, even though there were just a few mistakes.
Does not care about academic knowledge. Would not discuss a book but asks for you opinion of it. Then he would humiliate you for your personal perception of things and call security if you say a word. He is there to impose his beliefs. An egocentric professor, irrespectful towards his students. Does not use canvas. Gives a LOT of homework daily.
I did not learn anything from his class. He gives lectures about social issues and he is not open to discussion. He will call security if you try to debate or ask about the source of his information. You may face descrimination based on race, religion, etc. He gives a lot of homework but doesnt give any feedback. He has the wrong teaching method.
very bad communicator, his assignments are really badly written and he takes forever to respond. if you see this, do NOT enroll with him. i am warning you :)
I took Eng 101 from Dr. Faucette. I'm the type of student who could sail through Eng 101 without learning anything, and I am so glad I had a teacher who challenged me. He's often intimidating and can be vague, but if you make time to communicate he wants students to succeed. He inspired me to pursue a Ph.D.; his class changed my life.
worst class ever. he never responds EVER and he will give u 0s for no reason.
If you are looking for an easy class to take, this is not the one. If you are willing to learn and put in the hard work; you will be rewarded in the end. There's a secret theme you may go through taking his class and by then end, you will have learned a lot. Be patient, learn from your mistakes, and just listen and pay attention.
Put this class at low priority. Maybe 2nd or 3rd option if your target teacher isn't there. He responds slowly and didn't even grade in our class and the assignments are vague. He also rehashes content from previous classes. The class is pretty easy, though.
He doesn't give feed back pretty much absent doesn't grade work doesn't respond don't take this class .
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!! He did not update grade until the last day of the quarter. He does not care about students. I pay my classes out of pocket and I had to retake Eng 101 because of his lazy grading. Zero feedback, useless teacher. He has zero empathy. Worst ever!
