Excellent teacher! Really makes history come alive. Even has background music as he teaches! Learned SO much from him. For once history wasn't a complete bore. Hope he ends up teaching 112. Would highly, highly recommend.

He is an amazing teacher! You will learn a lot from his class. He tells all his lectures like a story and adds music to make everything interesting. One of the best professors I took. Only one or two online quizzes on black board a final which he gives all the questions in advance. I highly recommend taking him, easy A (no excuses).

He's the best story teller. He's animated, and humorous. Changes his voice to imitate the character in his story. It's like your watching a play. He tells history in a story which is cool.. Pretty rough taking an 8am history class when it is dark in the classroomhe plays classical music trying to pay attention. Barely any work at all so if you miss class and he hands out an assignment.. Good luck.. But he offers alot of extra credit.. 2 exams which are online.. EASY CLASS!!!!!!

My favorite professor by far. He is so passionate about what he teaches. His lectures are so interesting that I've probably learned the most in his classes more than any other classes. Never would've thought that I'd be saying this, but a semester in Professor Felix's class honestly changed me! He is incredibly passionate about the subject he teaches, and I recall leaving his class a few times moved to tears, feeling inspired to not just be a dreamer, but also a DOER. Amazing! He's really funny and truly a nice guy. His lectures are interesting and will make you laugh. He goes over such detail you really don't need the book, unless you miss a lot of classes. Great professor, very cinematic and interesting lectures. Honors course he gives way too many assignments though, most of my honors classes only assigned 2 essays, and one project total. This is the best teacher I've ever had at college of the canyons. I have never learned more in any other class. He makes class so interesting by playing music to the theme of his stories and the best part the different accents he makes. I think he should have really been an actor comedian. Although he is fun be ready 2 read and work for your grade

Professor Felix is possibly the BEST professor I've ever had in my entire life. I mean it. He's amazingly passionate about what he teaches and is SO sincerely concerned with making sure each student gets the material and EXPERIENCES it as if it's alive and you're there. Really awesome teacher! Made History 101 interesting & you can tell he's passionate about everything he talks about. Uses different voices for different time periods (not always accurate but HILARIOUS) and quite the comedian. We had a few discussion boards, one essay that we had a month to do, and about 3 exams. All easy if you paid attention.

He uses dim lighting and soundtrack music to accompany his lectures! He's passionate about what he teachers and makes the content interesting and relatable!

His lectures are amazing and I actually retained the information. There are a few tests, but they all have study guides that have the same questions as the tests (which are all online). Even the final; it is in class but he gives us a study guide and let's us make a cheat sheet. Amazing teacher.

He doesn't give lectures, he tells stories. It's not the typical spill your brains out boring, he really likes to engage the class. He plays music during his lecture to set the mood and does voices for the people he quotes! Tests are online. Fair amount of homework. I had him for my 111H class and I had to take him again! Highly recommend!

He is an amazing teacher who truly cares about his students. His lectures are not boring at all, especially if you have no interest in history like me. His tests are not hard as long as you do the study guides that he provides. He is always there to help you whenever you need him, and he is always in his office hours ready to provide help.

Great teacher probably one of my favorites at COC. Makes lectures fun and incredibly interesting that I felt I didn't even have to study for the exams and final because I already remembered most of the stories and lectures he gave. This was my first college course & I took it over the summer. Although it was only 5 weeks, Professor Felix covered the information very well and I easily understood everything. We had online activities for homework, a few write-ups, and then weekly tests (which he provides study guides for). Professor Felix was an excellent teacher!!!

This teacher was absolutely amazing! I met with him after classes and he was very helpful in helping me achieve my grade of a A. Not only that but i got a 96.9% in the class. All study guides he gave us were the exact questions on the test. As long as you did the study guide correctly, they were useful as you could use them on the tests.

The study guides are great, and the tests resemble them. He is very passionate about history and it clearly shows in his lectures. Just don't fall asleep or not pay attention (which I don't know how anyone could) I loved his class!

Professor Felix is the easiest professor ever. His tests are so easy if you just read the book. The questions appear the same as the study guide and lets you copy and paste answers for written exam. I wish I took him for history 111 but did not think of it. Would take him again for another history course if I had too. Willing to help at any time.

Plays classical music while lecturing & lectures are phenomenal. However, you are NOT allowed to use a laptop to take notes. I received an A, but this class is not an easy A. Class is based on a points total, so missing even one assignment will impact your grade. Responds quickly to emails. Lastly, don't be afraid to use office hrs for exam help.

He was hands down the best teacher I've ever had. His lectures were so inspiring and so interesting, I almost changed my major to History. I was excited to go to class every day because I learned so much. I enjoyed taking notes during his class. On the last day I remember thanking him for all his amazing lectures and I got teary-eyed. 10/10 man.

I usually don't like History at all, I'm more of a math/science person. But this professor is probably the best teacher I have ever met. Many months after the class, everything I learnt is still sticking, unlike my other classes. His lectures are like watching a movie, background music and everything. I wish I could take his class again!!!

The reading is somewhat challenging, but his class is very simple. You do the same 3 assignments each week which can be very easy if you use notes. And he is also a very good person, I had a problem with my textbook and he worked very hard with the staff of the book to find out what and why the problem was happening.

Make this man head of the history dept! I had the current history department head for another class, and he is not very cash money. In fact, I'd say that his class had a bank balance of negative cash money. However, Felix's class was FIRE. I'm talking LIT like COAL covered in GAS. Straight FACTS! This professor changed my life & my views on America. He is so passionate about what he teaches as he puts bg music as he tells stories (he hates calling them lectures). He inspires & may b intimidating but that's only bc there are ppl who take advantage. You will only get this in person as online it's not the same tbh which is understandable

He is not the most demeaning professor. The way he provides feedback to students was in fact reviewed and assessed and he was found to be professional. He never called or insinuated that anyone was incompetent. Any who say otherwise are just disgruntled over their own inability to follow directions and use a spell check.

I really enjoyed this winter online class. You get to work at your own pace and have the opportunity to interpret work in a fun way. If you care about history and school, I'm sure you'll get a great grade. I had issues with my textbook but this professor was very helpful. Buy the book from the publisher along with "Inquizitive", not Amazon!! :)

Professor Felix provided a great winter course. The material was easy to understand and we were allowed to go at our own pace. I really enjoyed the class.

I just wanted to say that I took Professor Felix in Spring 2021 and it was amazing. There is quite a bit of work assigned but he gave us assigned due dates and time clearly defining when something was due. He would send reminders and help us correct our grades on a website we did work on which was hard at first but you have to pay close attention.

Felix is an amazing instructor and always want to help his student to succeed if you want to. He gave excellent study guides and the exam questions is same as the study guide. The class is extremely easy if you JUST FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS Anyone who gets less than a B in his class is just very lazy. He gives feedback! Take him you wont regret it!

Great teacher! Have to buy the textbook and online quiz program but its like 30 with the link he provides. Basically just reading, pre-quiz, quiz then discussions and document reflections. Took short term so it was two chapters a week, Can get it done in one day which was nice! Very specific on what he wants. Only can take quiz once so be prepared

Professor Felix is a great history instructor because he doesn't stick with a textbook he provides historical documents with different viewpoints from same era that each chapter is on. These documents make history come alive and gives students an insight into world of the people who lived in different eras. His class makes the history engaging.

Very light work with his History 111 course all of it being online. Gave plenty of time to complete assignments,being submitted the end of the weeks at your own pace and is a generous grader.

Professor Felix was a great mentor for HIST111. His rules/grading is clear and prepared from the start. His feedback on small written assignments felt very encouraging and it felt good to know that he took the time to read your assignment. Just follow the assignments for each week and this class will be easy and smooth. (Everything is open note!)

I found Professor Felix to be one of the most professional teachers I have ever had. He starts every class by letting everyone know what is coming up for the next week. I took his western civ. Lowkey it was pretty good. Just make sure you come to class or else you will fail because your life needs those notes. His class was very interesting, I'll take again for sure.

If you are a history major or need history take this guy. He makes history fun, his lectures are literally a play. He does not assign much work, the biggest assignment was to read a book and take an exam on it. His exams are easy the study guides are the test minus the answers. Show up to class, do the work, you will get an A with hardly any effort

Professor Felix was an amazing professor, I just took his Western Civilizations class, and my experience was great. Professor Felix really makes his stories interesting and fun to listen to. He is very understanding and his workload is easy. Just make sure you come to class, since attendance is mandatory, 100% would retake again.

Professor Felix was a great for online HIST111. His grading and rules are clear from the start, and his feedback on assignments is thoughtful and encouraging. As long as you keep up with the weekly work, the class is smooth and manageable. Bonus: everything is open note!

Professor Felix can seem intimidating at first because his syllabus and assignment instructions are firm, but his instructions are very clear and detailed. but the assignments are actually very easy, mostly uses inquisitive. If you email him with a problem he is actually very lenient and willing to help.

Very easy online class, he only does assignments through inquisitive which is almost like a game. you just read the textbook and answer questions as you go and you just have to answer until you get enough points to get an A on the assignment.

Decent Online class. Mr. Felix's curriculum wasn't difficult but tedious. Always 2-4 assignments a week always including the chapter quiz and inquizitive (which is your textbook that cost around $50 so be aware of that!). Generally, all you have to do is keep up with assignments for a easy A and follow his guidelines for DB. Emails back quickly.

My favorite professor at coc! He's so passionate and my friends who had no previous interest in history, loved his class as well. I 100% recommend his in person courses.

Passionate storytelling made these lectures fascinating. I took both his in-person and online class at the same time, and both were wonderful. Though sometimes he has opinions or doesn't know the answers, he's honest about both. Cares about history. I looked forward to every class.
