Funny guy.

He is such a good teacher.. he made summer school fun.I think he was funny, he always made little jokes. He really gets you interested into his the class, and makes it enjoyable. The tests are graded on a curve, so thats easy!

He is a very cool, funny down to earth guy. A little on the dorky side, but hey he keeps you awake... Don't really need the book. Take notes, and you will get an EAST A!!!!

GOOD TEACHER FUNNY, MAKES JOKES. Gives extra credit, grades in a curve, easy class to pass. Miss the first test did last three whic i did not so good cause i got a 62 whic came out to be a c+ B- in the curve and ended up getting a B. I recomend you take him.

No homework, easy tests, fun labs. Material is interesting to begin with but Dr. Forrest makes it even better. He really cares about the students who care about his class... but so-so students do alright too. I recommend this class to all my friends at Rio Hondo who need to finish that science w/lab requirement. AWESOME TEACHER~!!

I still can't believe that I get 3 units for taking this class. Easy A! No HW! No Studying! No attendance! YOU WOULD BE CRAZY TO NOT TAKE HIS CLASSES.

He is nice and funny. Don't bother buying the text book or showing up to class much. Just show up once in a while to learn some geology and show up on test days for an easy A. Must take!

Mr. Forrest is funny, cool, fun and most importantly, easy. his class is far from boring and you will learn a lot just by sitting in the class, its so interesting that you can help but to pay attention. easy A or B. Oh and one more thing, if you do end up taking his class, ask him to sing his geol. song, its so funny that you will be on the floor.

The class is very easy during the summer. Easy A since he grades on the curve. Lots of extra credit offers by cutting news paper articles as well as a day in the museum. The lab on the summer session trully it is difficult. Memorize about 75 minerals and rocks. Then you have to identify them. He does not corralate the lab with the class.

As others say here, he's the most perfect and wonderful teacher Rio Hondo can ever get! One thing about him is don't take his online class, you will miss the fun! Dr. Forrest - YOU'RE THE MAN!!!!

I took him for earthquakes and he made it fun and interesting. The thing about forrest is that he knows his stuff, but he doesn't act like a snob. He teaches you interesting stuff and he's lots a fun. Take him, take him, take him. He's the best. He's a phd to top it all off.

The online class isn't as easy as many would think. Even though you're able to refer to your textbook while you're taking tests, the professor gives trick questions so unless you excel in geology I wouldn't go too fast during the tests without making sure you're 100% on your answer. It isn't a horrible online class but it definitely isn't an easy A

Easy class. Hes a nice teacher unless you get caught cheating on a test he flips out hahaha. He grades on a curve so its way easy! You have to put some effort into the course though. Make sure you dont miss to much class cause he gives points for showing up.

Mr. Forrest is such a Kick-Ass teacher. Yes, yes, his online course is difficult, the questions are deceptive and misleading, but the Grading Curve makes up for it I promise. I absolutely HATE Geology and all natural sciences, so if you feel the same, Take this class and you'll get an Easy A!

Lots of fun in the class and lectures were very interesting. made learning fun is an understatement. easy tests if you actually read your notes. make little effort and still get an A. online test is open book but a lot harder questions than attending the class.

Easy class. Take good notes and study those, or make a study guide. He even tells you that if you just study a little you'll be fine. Curves the test grades more than any teacher I've ever seen. He usually lets you out early. Plays some cool movies and tells ok jokes. Lot of extra credit available too.

I just want to say that he is a fun and easy teacher. He will give the grade you deserve. If you study and do your work as you suppose to then you got nothing to worry, but if youare one of those students that just lag then you get what you deserve.

I'm gonna miss this class! He starts off the class with daily news that relate to the course. He will always tell his jokes, he's cool like that. I highly recommend reading the chapters before the lectures because it helps out knowing what he's lecturing. Test are 90% lecture so don't miss class! Test are hard, but study and show up to class!

Great professor to have for the semester. Highly recommend taking this class. Its interesting, fun, very straight forward, and if help is needed then the professor will greatly take time(briefly) to help. Just go over your notes, pay attention during lectures, and before a exam remember to look over the chapters to add more info in your notes.

Save yourself the trouble and money and DO NOT BUY THE BOOK you will NEVER use. Like forreals, never. His class is so laidback. Honestly, he blabs for about 40 minutes before class, lectures for 30 and then most of the time lets you out 20 minutes early. He does go fast with notes but they're easy to catch up on. He is FUNNY tho and entertaining (:

If you're not a science major, I recommend this class, this professor. It fulfills GE and he teaches in way for everyone to understand and not get bored. Grades on a curve, so very easy to pass, study and you can get an A. Also recommend for students TRYING TO ADD THE FIRST DAY, he always lets a handful in, so get there early.

Dr. Forrest is incredibly funny and keeps it interesting. His class is very very easy and you do NOT need the textbook ($$ saver). He reviews each test before giving you it and grades on a ridiculous curve (some people receiving 60-65% and still getting As). I've never seen someone fall asleep in his class. Fun professor. He tries to make it easy for the students and grades his exams on extreme curves. People in the D ranges get A's after the curve. There are three curved exams. He drops the lowest graded exam and there is a final that is not curved. No homework, just pure lecture.

I took both lecture and lab classes in summer. Dr. Forrest is an awesome, funny, and enthusiastic teacher! Test curves are insanely huge and can help you pass this class easily. Jokes, news, movies about Geology stuffs, and of course lectures everyday!

His tests are very difficult. You need to be able to interpret what you read. With that being said he does curve everything. And for the most part the test scores were pretty low but I still managed to keep a A to B. So dont be discouraged to see a low score. Averages about Chapters a Week but if you follow the schedule youll be fine.

He is an excellent professor. He curves on tests which is a lifesaver to your grade. I highly recommend him. I think his great.

He curves the tests a lot! He is really funny and laid back. There was no class work just note taking. He says it's not mandatory to show up as long as we come for the tests. He gives us a study guide(don't rely solely on that) you will need to study your notes! The book is not mandatory, however, sometimes he uses the diagrams on tests.

I took the 5 week summer session. He is a very friendly guy and makes lectures interesting. The grade consisted of 3 exams and the final. He drops the lowest of the three first exams. He gave one extra credit assignment. Attend class because some exam questions come directly from his lectures. Some of the questions come from the book.

Took him this fall semester, very funny guy. He likes to talk about his life, A LOT. Doesn't take attendance but you need to attend for notes. Lectures were short for the most part. We took 4 tests which he drops the lowest one. His lectures were straight foward. He gave study guides for all tests. All tests were curved and gives out extra credit.

INSANE curves on the test. I scored low 70's on all tests and got them all curved to an A. Professor Forrest is very funny and almost ALWAYS lets you out early so try to take him at the end of your day! His tests are not as hard as people say they are. 85/100 questions are t/f, just study a little and follow the study guide he gives.

Best class to have for intersession. He gives a very generous curve on his tests based on how well the students scored. Just take notes and study and you should be fine. Most of the test had T/F questions, so there's a lot of leeway. He also let us out early almost every day. I wouldn't recommend buying the book unless you really need it.

I took this course to meet a GE requirement and Dr. Forrest easily became my favorite professor. Having zero interest in geology and merely taking the course to fulfill a requirement, I found myself eagerly coming to class (attendance is NOT mandatory/ not accounted) to hear what Forrest said next. Dr. Forrest if a great professor his class is not hard yes you have to study in order to pass but he gives generous curves on his exam and offers extra credit. study your notes and you will be good i recommend to record his lecture just in case you miss something

Easy A, so if you don't like science and you need a science course for your GEs take this class. You take four exams and he drops the lowest one. He's curves are amazing so you will most likely pass. He finishes lecture 30 minutes early he puts an extra credit video which ends up being very helpful.

Forrest is such a funny man. I took GEOG 150 over intersession and it was super easy. Since the class was only 4 weeks long, there was a lot of info to take notes on. However, he curves each test like CRAZY. Book isn't necessary, just take good notes, study them and you're bound to get an A. Offers crazy amount of extra credit also

Honestly the best professor I have ever had, Class is not difficult at all and he curves the test significantly. EASY A if you study slightly !!

Loved him. Takes maybe half of class lecturing then puts up a video to watch for extra credit. Gives you questions to write down as a study guide before the exams. Exams are multiple choice & true/false, he curves them so if you study enough you'll be fine. Very funny and likeable person, take his GEOL150 class if you're getting ur GE out the way

you won't need the book just go to class and write notes all 4 tests are 100 questions but he's good at grading and will let you slide

His grading is based off 3 midterms, a final, and no homework. The study guide makes up most of the test, but a few questions are from the book. He goes over what is important to know for the upcoming exams. If you are looking for an easy A, take this class.

i'm currently taking his class and i have just taken his first midterm it went great really straight forward. just pay minimal attention and you'll pass. hes really hilarious. a real gem. if you need a physical science in order to transfer but have full schedule you can definitely fit this class into it your scheduled.

I've taken Forrest twice now and both times proved to be my favorite class of the semester. The lab was more challenging than the lecture class as there is a lot more memorization involved, but with his heavy curve even if you don't understand it all you only need to understand more than everybody else for an A. I actively recommend him to others.

If you need to knock out a physical science- take Forrest's class! I tried to take this class online before and it required so much reading. The in person class is so much easier and book is not necessary. Almost impossible to not pass. I didn't have to study anything outside of the notes I took. He offers extra credit for watching movies.

Forrest is a great professor. Attendance isn't mandatory but after every class he plays 10-20 min videos that you can stay for-for extra credit. Lectures are a lil heavy but really informative. Makes sure to take minor breaks in between. Book isn't really necessary. He drops your lowest scoring quiz out of 4. He also gives you a broad study guide.

I took him in the summer along with his GEO151 (lab). he is such a great professor. very energetic, great personality. he grades on a curve so every test is curved along with your final. he also plays movies at the end of class for extra credit points.

His online class isn't super hard. It's average. Each week you get two multiple choice quizzes and then two written quizzes. He posts them a week and a half ahead and you can take them any time. He grades your total points on a curve. If you ask him why you got something wrong he tells you. If you put in a little effort you get an A.

The easiest professor at Rio Hondo 100%. He's a cool guy, all you do is go to class, lecture and the last 30min of class you can stay to watch a film for extra credit if you like. Graded on 4 exams, and drops the lowest of the first 3. If you dont show up to final, you'll fail. Highly recommend taking

The best professor I've ever had. He is quite funny and likes making jokes during lectures. He doesn't take attendance but you should still go because the tests are based off the lectures and things he says. He does drop the lowest grade for tests. He also shows a movie for extra credit for the last 30 mins of class, so you can leave or stay. Easy!

Really have no clue why people would give Professor Forrest anything lower than 5. He really is the coolest professor, with very easy notes to follow and prepares you with notes to study for exams. Had him for lecture in the fall, and took him for the summer Lab and he was great online as well due to COVID. Wish I could take him for other classes:(

Took geology in summer 2020. One of the best, if not the best professor that I have had so far. Very engaging lectures and he is very funny. Professor Forrest has lots of puns, dad jokes, and funny gifs/videos. He also gives very good life advice. Tests are fair, and he gives extra credit movies. He also responds to emails quickly, and no homework.

Probably one of the kindest professors at Rio Hondo college! it's a very easy class with a couple of labs and in classwork. If you take the lab class you are required to go on a hike with class by the Rio observatory. If you don't know which professor to pick for ur Geology class, GO with Forrestttt!!!!

Your grade consists of 4 exams that are out of 100 points. He gives you plenty of time and most of the answers come from his lectures. He does not post his slideshows so you must show up to class. He offers extra credit videos almost every week. He is loves Disney and hates Gavin Newsom.

This class is not for lazy students!!! Yes you need to read for this class. I think that's why people didn't like this class. It was online so there was a test for every chapter but if you read, the answers are clearly there. He also grades on a very generous curve. I am sure he understands it's a little tough. I'd take this class again.

He's redone his online class. I'm taking it again--I had to drop last semester, I got too busy. He got rid of these killer essay questions he had. It's better. This will be good.

He's a lot of fun, the tests aren't bad. Lots of really interesting stuff.

Best Class Ever

Great Class. He's recording his lectures on Zoom, so you don't have to attend them. Very funny.

I took the online class. It was great. You take a few multiple choice quizzes every week and post some discussion stuff. He's funny. He grades with a generous curve.

He has a moto and after awhile of hearing it, it starts to feel comforting. Does have lecture, but after every few slides he will add a funny video or gif to help us escape the boredom. As long as you pay attention and put in a little effort, you should pass with a good grade. Throws in some corny jokes here and there. Great teacher.

There is a lot to learn but he makes it fun. He is the sweetest prof ever I highly recommend him!! He makes learning interesting and is extremely kind if you have issues with missing tests and quizzes etc. He gives extra credit and all his tests were easy. I don't understand how anyone can dislike him.

Just finished the class. It was great. You learn lots of awesome stuff. He tells a lot of jokes. You see the world different after the class.

Mainly lectures but they're not boring at all and he tells a lot of dad jokes. Hardly any assignments. A few discussions and 4 exams; he drops your lowest grade from the first 3 exams. The exams only include what was taught in lectures so they're really easy just take notes. Would definitely recommend this class if you need a physical science!

Dr. Forrest is the best professor for Geology. He records the lectures on Zoom which helps for the exams. He drops the lowest of the first 3 exams. You must take the final in order to pass because it can drop you a whole grade and a half. He offers extra credit by you submitting video notes. Very funny at times with some of his jokes.

The class was fine. You will have many quizzes and go through the whole book, which has 23 chapters. Just stay on top of those quizzes, and you should be fine. The only thing I would say is that since he curves grades, it's hard to tell what your overall grade will be. I recommend him!

Last semester, I took geology in person on Monday and Wednesday for Wednesday I took the lab. Now the grade curve is different it actually score approximately 60 and up in exam gets an A.

Professor Forrest is knowledgeable and engaging. The class covers a lot of material, with quizzes and a final exam. Using resources like Unstuck study alongside the textbook can help manage the workload. Overall, an interesting course if you stay on top of the work.

Best geology professor. Grading is based on 4 exams. Takes off the exam with the lowest grade. Take notes during his lectures and attend them, even though their not requires. I recommend taking his lab as well. Highly recommend him! (Grades on a curve)

Prof. Forrest was one of my favorite professors to have! He's an absolute delight and is so passionate about what he teaches. Just be sure to take notes on the lectures and do well on your quizzes (which he helps give you study guides for!)
