Boring lectures and overall not in touch with today's students and how they learn. Seems like he has been teaching this course for a long time and in that time has made no updates to material or teaching style. Responded to student complaints about problematic lecture material by ignoring the problem and cutting off communication.

this class was extremely difficult for me. He has an old school way of teaching. He teaches as if we already know the material. its extremely hard to follow along with him (online) because he leaves important information that he says out of the slides he uses. if you want an A in his class prepare to study A LOT!!

His exams were incredibly difficult and very heavy with content, he would always put in questions about content that we genuinely had not covered in class. Exams also carry a heavy weight on your grade. If you really like memorizing take the class, otherwise, i would definitely take a different professor who is more reasonable.

IM DRAINED. He's a nice guy but his exams are really hard if you can take him online buddy up for the exams. He really doesn't care about you. The final was a lot of questions for such little time. He doesn't let you make up class work or quizzes no matter what excuse you use. I definitely would have not passed his class if it was in person.

There are in and out of class assignments which are usually a short video or article and some questions. There is no homework aside from the 10 in or out of class work. The tests are exactly what is covered in the lecture. If you just pay attention and take nice notes, you'll get an A. Tests are open-book and open-note. He's very nice and helps out

He uses the board a lot when teaching and the class is mostly lecture. There was one big partner presentation at the end of the semester worth 30%. It isn't graded to harshly but the material you cover is complex so it takes a lot of preparation and reading. Could get boring, especially in 3 hour lectures.

Don't bother getting the book, only study notes from lecture. First exam was in-person (allowed 1 page of notes), other 2 were on BS (open book open note). No homework ever, grades depend on exams, quizzes, and in-class assignments where you watch a video and answer 5 questions. He's a very smart guy, pretty enjoyable class just a bit challenging.

Professor Foy really cares about his students. He made all of our exams online and open note because he worried about anxiety for test taking. His classes are all lecture but he does write on the whiteboard and post slides which is helpful. I really enjoyed this class, although you're only graded on tests, quizzes and in class assignments.

Very nice guy & good teacher, really cares about students. Teaches the material well. No homework, grade is based on test, quizzes and in class assignments. Exams are detailed so take REALLY good notes in class. Attendance is very mandatory if you want to do well. This class is challenging but if you take good notes and study you should do well.

Make sure to take good notes, as you are able to use them on your exams and quizzes. No homework, but some in class assignments. Definitely recommend, he really cares abt ur grade!

Loved Dr. Foy's class. He is such a sweet guy, mild-mannered, and makes cute dad jokes. No homework. Tests could be tricky, you have to understand and not just know definitions. Take detailed notes in class and take advantage of the page of notes we're allowed for tests. Lectures can be a lot of info but he makes tough concepts clear. Reccomend!

The entire class is lecture-based, notes are not posted (except for overheads). Not a friendly class for those with focus issues. Missing one class means you miss quite a bit of lecture that will be on the test. Tests and quizzes are hard, and there are in-class assignments dispersed through. Very hard class, however he does give good lectures.

Dr. Foy is an amazing prof, just make sure that you take detailed notes and go to every class. If you are confused, I recommend that you go to the tutor he provides rather than his office hours (his office hours are good, the tutor just really helps to break down concepts in terms that an undergrad student can understand!). Take his class!!!! :)

Dr. Foy was a great professor for Brain and Behavior. His lectures were very understandable and interesting, but you have to show up, pay attention, and take good notes every class. Foy is very knowledgeable and well established in the psychology field. However, I never missed a single class, wrote notes on every single thing he said, and studied those notes like my life depended on it. I devoted hours every week to studying and got As on every exam just to do a little bad on the final and end with a B (he doesn't do +/-)

I did not miss class, studied so hard, and made notes for every class and still did horrible. The questions on his tests do not relate to anything in class. I do not recommend unless you have 50 hours of studying ready. There's also no homework or papers, everything is test based (and the tests suck.)

Hardest course I've taken thus far. 4 quizzes and 2 midterms that you can't use any notes on. 1 final which he allowed notes for. Don't ever miss class because he doesn't post his lectures, only visuals which don't help at all. His lectures are long and boring. He is very smart, but his teaching style sucks. He isn't the most welcoming. Not my fav.

He's a nice guy but in terms of teaching he just lectures and lectures and breezes through the lesson as if everyone knows what he's talking about. The exams are hard and count as almost more then halve of your grade. He also doesn't use Brightspace and doesn't enter ANY of the grades on there so you have to guess or ask him in person where your at

I felt like he just breezes through lectures with out checking if we have any questions. I am still traumatized from this class.

Dr. Micheal Foy is one of the best professors I have had at LMU. He explains all of the content and genuinely wants you to succeed. Have assignments on Monday where we typically look at a case study and answer questions and then on Wednesdays we have a short quiz, all of these are open note. There is a midterm and a final. I have learned so much.
